Rihanna Touring Again After New Music Drops: “It’s Only Fair”

Thankfully for her Navy, Rihanna hasn’t been totally absent from the spotlight while taking a hiatus from music. Instead, we’ve seen her pour into Fenty Beauty/Skin, as well as her lingerie line. She made a triumphant return to the stage in 2022 with powerful contributions to the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack like “Lift Me Up,” but at this time, it’s unclear when the mother of two plans to deliver her next studio LP.

2016’s ANTI was an impressive body of work, with features coming from SZA and Drake on “Consideration” and “Work” respectively. It’s unclear who Rih is interested in collaborating with on her next project, though many hip-hop heads have expressed interest in hearing a joint song between her and ASAP Rocky. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight earlier this week, the Barbadian artist gave an update on when we might hear new music from her, as well as any upcoming tour plans.

When is Rihanna Going on Tour Again?

“Well we’re always gonna go back on tour,” Rih told the outlet after laughing. “I feel like, when there’s new music. We already know what that’s gonna be, with the songs that I’ve performed my last tour. That was a long time ago, I feel like it’s only fair that my fans get what they’ve been waiting on, which is new music. After that, lets just like, blow everything up,” she declared, seemingly hinting at an explosive schedule of performances coming in the future.

Elsewhere in the news, Rihanna can’t stop gushing about being a mother of two and watching her other half, ASAP Rocky, step confidently into fatherhood. Rumour has it that the Bad Gal is eager to see if they can conceive a girl in the future, though it’s unclear how much time she wants to take off after having RZA and Riot back to back. Bas Makes A Clever Star Wars Reference On Infectious Banger “Black Jedi”

Bas was one of those artists who took a huge gap between his last album. Similar to Travis Scott, the Sudanese artist last dropped a project in 2018 with Milky Way. Just this past weekend he finally ended the drought by coming through with a 17-track offering. We Only Talk About Real S*** When We’re F****d Up partially touches on some topics that are usually avoided by most people. For example, “Khartoum” focuses on the issues going down in the Middle East which have taken tens of thousands of lives.

But, that is not all the tracklist focuses on. A lot of the record provides vibey songs to throw on for those nighttime drives or chill-outs. Bas incorporates a lot of African music like Afro-beat, Afro-pop, etc. But, he also brings more hard-hitting production on tracks like “Black Jedi.”

This may be the most catchy song on the LP, especially with the extremely quotable hook. He rhymes “winds do” with “Mace Windu,” a reference to Samuel L. Due to its solid melody and trap-inspired beat, it is sure to be the most agreeable and one the songs that winds up on a lot of playlists.

Playboi Carti Gets “Whole Lotta Red” To Chart Again Amid New Album Hype

Playboi Carti has fans extremely excited for his new album. Overall, there is no telling when this album will be released. Some are saying January and that it could be as early as the fifth. Ultimately, there is no telling whether or not that will be the case. After all, Carti is someone who has always prided himself on being mysterious. He typically keeps to himself and then comes out of nowhere with a surprise release. The same happened with Die Lit and it subsequently happened with Whole Lotta Red.

Speaking of Whole Lotta Red, this would have been his last full-length release. He came through with the album back in 2020, on Christmas Day. This is one of those albums that had to grow on people. The album had very few day one defenders, and now, it is considered a modern classic. That said, with all of this hype around Carti’s new album, it would appear as though people are going back to the project. In the Instagram post below, from DJ Akademiks, you can see that the album has re-entered the Billboard 200 Albums chart.

This should come as absolutely no surprise at this point. Overall, fans love to go revisit and artist’s previous projects whenever they have something new on the way. Given how long its been since Playboi Carti last released new music fans are dying for just about any news on what he’s up to. Over the weekend he appeared to be hitting the studio but somehow that may not even be the most exciting part. A screenshot from Carti in the studio is more than enough to get fans buzzing, but the picture he shared also included pop star and former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello. Cabello is no stranger to working with rappers as two of her biggest hits include “Havana” with Young Thug and “My Oh My” with DaBaby.

It isn’t clear exactly how much recording the pair got up to, but that isn’t what many fans were focusing on. In one picture shared of the two, Carti captions it “baby girl” sparking rumors about whether there could be more going on between them. Camila has been subject to dating rumors a few times this year. Most notably she was briefly rumored to be Latin star Rauw Alejandro’s new girl after his engagement to Rosalia was called off. EVEN is a website and company based in California that looks to bring fans and musicians closer than ever before. It was founded last year and it is still in its beta stage. Big K.R.I.T. allowed exclusive access to a short project on the site about a week ago.

Horseshoe G.A.N.G. Repurposes 2021’s “SHADY PAST” For Spotify Release

Long Beach, California is where the rap outfit Horseshoe G.A.N.G. calls home. They have been delivering albums and mixtapes for a little over a decade now. To be exact, things got going for them in 2009 with their Circle of Bosses project. These guys thrive in the underground scene and are known for their fun lyrical abilities.

A couple of years ago Horseshoe G.A.N.G came out with an Eminem-inspired album, SHADY PAST. It made its way onto Apple Music in 2021 and if you listen to the songs you will notice something. A lot of the titles are reminiscent of Slim Shady’s most iconic tracks. However, that is not the only similar aspect of it.

Madlib & Karriem Riggins Join Forces For New Song “Stomping Gamay”

Madlib and Karriem Riggins recently teamed up to announce their new album under their joint project Jahari Massamba Unit. The album, YHWH Is Love, is slated for release on March 1, 2024 via Law of Rhythm. The 14-track LP will follow the duo’s first album as Jahari Massamba Unit, Pardon My French, which they unveiled back in 2020.

To give listeners a taste of what’s to come, the drummer and producer delivered the album’s lead single, “Stomping Gamay.” Groovy and ethereal, the nearly five-minute-long track has certainly managed to muster fans’ excitement for the upcoming release. If it compares to the musical voyage they’ve taken listeners on so far, it’s safe to say it’ll quickly become a fan favorite.

Madlib & Karriem Riggins Announce New Jahari Massamba Unit Album

As for the duo’s creative process, Riggins reportedly delivers his drum loops to Madlib, who adds his own instrumentation and more into the mix. “Our voices together are a collage of everything that we love,” Riggins told Joel Biswas for Passion Of The Weiss in 2021. “Trying to add onto the art or the music that we study.”

Their Jahari Massamba Unit project is far from the only creative endeavor Madlib and Riggins have embarked on as of late, however. Last year, Riggins teamed up with Common and Patrick Warren for the soundtrack of the Netflix series Mo. Madlib’s dropped various collaborative projects throughout the year. His most recent full-length release was his collaborative album with Mayhem Lauren and DJ Muggs, Champagne For Breakfast, which the trio shared in April. C Stunna recently unveiled his new track “Vibin,” which arrived alongside an energetic accompanying music video. The boastful, bass-heavy single sees the Florida-based rapper spit menacing bars about opps, making money, and more. The track follows his 2021 album Stone Cold Stunna. While it’s unclear when the rapper plans to unveil his next full-length project, he’s managed to hold fans over with an array of singles over the past year, including “Play,” “Copy Paste Delete,” “Feel Myself,” and more.

“I’ve always loved music my whole life,” C Stunna says of his background. “I can’t do anything without a song or instrumental playing. I grew up in a home that always had some type of music playing also. My environment inspires me.“

C Stunna’s had quite the year so far, headlining Spotify’s Most Necessary Live concert in Miami alongside Real Boston Richey, Danny Towers, Loe Shimmy Lil Crix, and more. The November event even featured surprise appearances from Kodak Black and Nardo Wick. He also performed at Rolling Loud Miami in July and Rolling Loud California in March.
