Layzie Bone Ends The Year With Some “Hypnotic Rhythms” On Latest Record

It has been a rough year for the Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony clan. Earlier this year, Krayzie Bone was hospitalized after he was violently coughing up blood. It was revealed that he had a leaking lung artery. He fought for his life and is now on the continuous road to recovery after spending nine days there. However, the group has still managed to drop projects including Layzie Bone. The Cleveland, Ohio native has had a trend of dropping one project each year since 2017.

So, after nearly a whole year without dropping, Layzie just cuts with Hypnotic Rhythms. It is a 12-track offering that skimps out on the features. The only guest on here is TINY, who lands on “Flyer Than Ever.” A majority of the album features trap beats and woozy instrumentation. Layzie does sing on it as well, but not in a good way, unfortunately.

Chance The Rapper Announces New Album Coming Next Spring

Fans of Chance The Rapper have been waiting a LONG time for a new album. His last project The Big Day dropped all the way back in 2019. And on top of the long time fans have had to wait for new material, many also weren’t that fond of his most recent release. The Big Day was panned by critics and fans alike for the seemingly low-effort style of much of Chance’s writing and performances. He hasn’t exactly been silent since then, releasing a number of singles in the years since. But now fans finally have a concrete timeline of when they can expect a new project from Chance.

He’s been teasing a new album called Star Line Gallery for years now. While very little has been known about the album, Chance recently made a major revelation. During an Instagram Live he surprised viewers with a surprise announcement. “My album coming out next Spring” he says in a clip from the live. Even though it isn’t a precise release date fans were hyped to hear that the album is nearing completion and Chance plans on releasing it relatively soon. Check out the announcement video and some of the fan reactions to it below.

Lil B Comes Through With A Dreamy And Heartfelt Track “Cry Like This”

Lil B’s style is certainly not everyone’s cup of tea. He has a niche following, however his fans have led him to a long and prosperous career, spanning a decade and a half. This year has been another busy one for the California talent. Lil B is now up to his fourth tape for 2023.

It is called Winged Wheelchair Squad and if you thought the title was the weirdest thing, you are sorely mistaken. The album cover is also out there, with a sort of anime-inspired artwork. However, what is possibly even more outlandish is the tracklist. Lil B is certainly going for a wide mixture of soundscapes. From piano ballads to full-out auto-tune, he is going for it all.

Lil B Tries Out A Few Different Sounds On “Winged Wheelchair Squad”

Lil B has never been a conventional rapper. But, that has helped him span his career out. He has been going strong since the late 2000s and early 2010s decade. This new album sees the idiosyncratic California act experiment with some interesting flows and production choices.

This follows up on his October release, BasedGods Pro Skater. Before that though, Lil B put out B – Unit, as well as B**** Mob tha Album. Winged Wheelchair Squad features some “WTF” moments, but some solid tracks too. If you want to hear something truly unique, then this is the project for you.

Conway The Machine And Wun Two Match Each Other’s Vibes On “Palermo”

Conway the Machine’s motor is something that has to be commended. Even though some may feel he goes overboard by dropping so frequently, he manages to put out quality. The messages from each album are all fairly similar too. However, each one is meticulously put together. That is especially true on the production side.

For Conway’s fourth album and fifth project overall, he teams up with a German-born producer who goes by Wun Two. This their first time working together and it comes in the form of Palermo. Plenty of tracks were put out ahead of its release. “Brick by Brick” got the ball rolling. The, after that, Conway and Wun Two would drop “Montagna,” “Cosca,” and “Mind Tricks.”

Q Da Fool Has A Sticky Melody On “Bad To The Bone”

The state of Maryland possesses some solid rap talent. Normally, when you think of East Coast hip-hop, your brain immediately thinks of Florida, New York, maybe even Virginia. But, Q Da Fool is proudly putting the Free State on everyone’s radar. Life for him has seen its rough moments for sure, though. Earlier this year, Q was rumored to be involved with drug-related activities, according to Soul Sanctuary.

They say he was handcuffed “and subsequently convicted” on drug charges. “Specifics of the charges have not been disclosed publicly, but it is believed that his involvement in illicit drug trade led to his incarceration.” He was also dealing with issues back in 2021 as well, around the release of his project, Indicted. Even with the extensive problems, Q Da Fool has been dropping consistently this year.

Q Da Fool Comes Back To Drop Third Tape This Year With “Art Of Ambition”

If there is one thing that Q Da Fool prides himself on, it is his independence. The young and prolific rapper from Maryland is steadfast on this and Revolt TV furthers that. In their piece about his latest record, they mentioned these quotes from Q. “People gotta understand this ain’t no major label behind this.”

He continues, “I do everything myself. I put up the money myself. Me and my men, they helpin’ me, I got my team. It’s just us.” Sometimes that is more gratifying than having tons of labels and executives tell you what to do with your music. His latest record, Art of Ambition stays true to his word.

Curren$y, Trauma Tone, And Don Toliver Have The Perfect Track For The Nighttime With “Coming Home”

Curren$y knows how to curate solid tracks for when you want to kick back and blaze it up. Additionally, he provides music for the nighttime drives with the windows down in the summer. On his most recent tape, he delivers on that. Just this past weekend, the Louisiana rapper came through with Highway 600.

It is a nine-song collaborative tape that sees the veteran team up with Trauma Tone. The Virginia-born producer worked alongside Kino Beats to conjure up “Coming Home.” It has a Southern hip-hop tinge that perfectly suits the feature on it. Don Toliver continues his strong guest appearance run here too.
