Lil Uzi Vert’s “Barter 16” Will Be Executive Produced By London On Da Track

Ever since the release of Pink Tape a few weeks ago Lil Uzi Vert has been teasing an impending follow-up. The project became the first rap album to hit #1 on the Billboard 200 this year and still sits in the Top 10 of the chart. But they’ve been teasing a follow-up ever since and that’s taken the form of Barter 16. In the past few weeks, Uzi has been sharing information with fans about the follow-up which queries from Young Thug’s similarly titled series. On top of recently dressing up like Young Thug, Uzi is also taking the inspiration even further.

The “Just Wanna Rock” rapper just dropped some more news album Barter 16. The project will reportedly be executive produced by London On Da Track. The producer has worked with Young Thug extensively in the past and will now help out as Lil Uzi tried to match his style. They haven’t released any information about when the project might arrive so far, but clearly, fans are excited. Some fans are also skeptical. Comments underneath many posts about Lil Uzi are curious about their decision to try and embody Young Thug. With the former still in police custody as part of the YSL RICO case, opinions are divided.

Over the weekend pictures made the rounds of Lil Uzi Vert back in the studio. While the rapper didn’t explicitly say that they were working on tracks from Barter 16 most fans made the connection pretty quickly. Uzi is no stranger to turning around quickly after the release of a new album. In 2020 they released the similarly highly-anticipated project Eternal Atake. They followed it up shortly after with a Deluxe version that was essentially an entire new album, LUV vs. The World 2.

Just a few weeks after its release Pink Tape has already sold 500k units. The album has the potential to become the highest-selling rap project of 2023 and will likely compete for the title with Travis Scott’s forthcoming album Utopia. Travis Scott Points To Utopia, Texas In New Billboard

Travis Scott has a lot of fans waiting around with bated breath for his new album, Utopia. Overall, this could very well be the biggest album of the entire year. However, no one knows when the album is actually going to be released. Some thought we would get the album this Friday. Although, with Travis set to perform in Egypt on July 28th, people are circling next week on their calendars. Needless to say, there is still a lot of mystery surrounding this album, and no one knows what to make of it.

If you have been paying attention to the rollout, you know that there have been quite a few billboards. The first two billboards contained a clock that was pointed to 7:21. Moreover, the second billboard had a lock combination to a briefcase with the same exact numbers. Now, however, a third billboard has surfaced, and it contains an interesting set of coordinates. If you were type them into google, you would be pointed towards a small town in Texas called Utopia.

Of course, this is a very appropriate town to promote the album. Texas is Travis Scott’s home state. Although he is from Houston, you cannot discount his ties to the entire state. Whether or not Travis has plans to visit Utopia, remains to be seen. However, if one thing is for certain, it is that he wants to continue teasing the album. At this point, all fans can do is really just guess. Hopefully, we get some concrete details sooner rather than later.

For now, there isn’t a single song that has been confirmed for the project. We don’t even know who the features are going to be. The only thing we can sort of guess is that “Lost Forever” with Westside Gunn will be on the album. Travis Scott has performed the song at various shows as of late. Moreover, Westside Gunn was in Egypt this past week, which led to more speculation. Once again, nothing is confirmed and the fans are beginning to get restless. Nas Drops Teaser That Has Fans Buzzing For New Music

Earlier this week, Nas cleared out his entire Instagram. In its place, he uploaded a pretty short and simple video of a storm. The clip doesn’t come with any caption but the move has fans suspecting new music could be on the way. Many artists have begun new eras by clearing their social media. It sets up for an entirely new visual look which often leads to new music. While there still isn’t anything known about what Nas is releasing or when it’ll be here the fact that he has new music coming soon won’t surprise fans.

Nas has been releasing music extremely prolifically this decade. He and producer Hit-Boy have created a series of collaborative projects called King’s Disease. The three albums were released in 2020, 2021, and 2022 and have been met with increasingly loud critical acclaim each time. The first two albums were packed full of features from fellow great rappers. Fivio Foreign, A$AP Ferg, Anderson .Paak, Lil Durk, Don Toliver, Big Sean, Lauryn Hill, Eminem, YG, and more all make appearances.

The trio of King’s Disease albums aren’t even the only new material Nas has dropped. Back in 2021 he also surprised released another entire album called Magic. The album was just 9 tracks but features A$AP Rocky and DJ Premier and was also well received by fans. A few weeks ago Nas revealed in an interview that he was already back in the studio. Now, all of the hints of new music could be assembled into an actual new release soon.

Nas also showed up on one of the biggest music and film crossovers this year. Metro Boomin’ grabbed plenty of big rappers for his recent Spider-Man soundtrack. That included Nas who appeared on the hilariously titled song “Nas Morales.” Like much of the album, the song has been a big success. Babyface Ray Announces That Summer Will Be His With New Album

Babyface Ray is keeping his prolific streak going. The Detroit rapper dropped two entire new albums last year. The two projects FACE and MOB added up to a full 38 new songs and there’s even more coming soon. He’s already released a trio of new singles in 2023 and there’s a whole new album coming soon. On Instagram earlier this week he announced Summer’s Mine, his new album. Fans won’t have to wait long for the release of the record either as Ray confirms the release date in the caption. “Summers Mine 7/21 Pre Save The ,” the description reads.

Former collaborators like Mozzy and G Herbo took to the comments under the post to hype up the release. Babyface Ray albums are often packed full of quality features. Alongside G Herbo, last year’s FACE also featured Pusha T, Wiz Khalifa, Yung Lean. 42 Dugg, and Icewear Vizzo. The follow-up MOB featured Lil Durk, Blxst, Doe Boy, and even more. Fans have plenty of hopes and expectations about who might appear on Summer’s Mine.

Babyface Ray has already treated fans to three new songs so far this year. The first one “Ron Artest” dropped back in February and featured 42 Dugg. The track has become one of Ray’s biggest hits with over 20 million streams on Spotify since it dropped. He followed it up a few months later with the short but exceedingly glamorous “All-Star Team.” The accompanying music video made waves online for its portrayal of his excess.

Most recently, Babyface Ray dropped his most recent single “Donda Bag.” The Space-produced track got its own new music video and is set to appear on Ray’s new album. He’s also appeared on a handful of other songs as a feature. “Fair Exchange” is an Only Thrsday song that dropped a few months ago which featured a verse from Ray. Jamila Woods Announces New Album

Jamila Woods just announced her first new album in 4 years. The project is her third studio album and is officially called Water Made Us. The project follows 2019’s critically acclaimed LEGACY! LEGACY!. According to Uproxx, alongside the announcement, she also released the album’s lead single “Tiny Gardens” as well as an accompanying music video. Woods described the track as “a song about the way my heart works, the slow and steady way I love.”

She also directed the track’s music video and shared some thoughts on her approach. “I wanted to create a visual representation of how I often feel in relationships — like I’m having huge feelings that I end up expressing in small specific ways,” her statement reads. Unsurprisingly, the project will dive into some intimate details of Woods’ life. ““Water Made Us feels like the most personal and vulnerable piece of art I’ve ever made. I love creating from source material, diving deep into a subject, and extrapolating from what I discover.” Water Made Us is set to release on October 13th via Jagjaguwar and features songs with Duendita and Peter CottonTale.

Though she hasn’t released a new album in 4 years she hasn’t been completely quiet. She teamed up with Peter CottonTale for a song called “WYD” back in 2021. The pair are set to link up again on another new song in the tracklist of Woods’ forthcoming album. She only released one new single of her own in 2022. The track “Boundaries” dropped to praise from both fans and critics alike. A remixed version of the song with DRAMA also went on to receive praise from fans.

Jamila Woods also teamed up with Adi Oasis on a song last year. The track “Red To Violet” saw the pair teaming up for an R&B number that has generated over a million streams since its release last year. Playboi Carti Release Timeline Seemingly Surfaces Online

Playboi Carti is an artist who has a very dedicated fanbase. Overall, they are constantly trying to figure out when he will release an album. Although Carti has promised a follow-up to Whole Lotta Red, he still hasn’t delivered. This has led to numerous theories about when the album is actually going to arrive. Unfortunately, no one has truly figured out when the album will come out. That said, we have gotten some Carti news in the form of a tour with his Opium artists Homixide Gang, Ken Carson, and Destroy Lonely.

This new tour is called the “Antagonist Tour” and it will take Carti throughout the United States and Europe. The tour kicks off in September and will go all the way through November. The European leg starts in November, and one of the last cities will be Berlin, where Carti and company will perform at the Mercedes-Benz Arena. According to a new press release from the aforementioned venue, Carti has new music dropping very soon. In the tweet below, the venue claims Carti’s album is called MUSIC and it will release before he heads to Europe.

Playboi Carti To Drop Soon?

Overall, this is a very interesting claim, and Playboi Carti fans are already getting excited. However, once again, Carti himself has not confirmed this. If the information is correct, then this is going to be huge. Name aside, this album could become one of the best of the year. WLR turned out to be a cult classic, and with Carti continuing his punk and metal sound at shows, MUSIC promises to be a treat. Now, he just needs to release it, and in a timely matter at that.

For now, though, fans will simply have to wait for new information. Patience is a virtue when you are a Playboi Carti fan. Sure, it might not feel great, but Carti is usually well worth the wait. Victoria Monet Announces “Jaguar II” Album & Tour Dates

Victoria Monet has announced that she’ll be releasing her long-awaited debut studio album, Jaguar II, on Friday, August 25, 2023. In addition to the album’s release, the singer also revealed that she’ll be embarking on a tour to promote the project, later this year. Tickets will be going on sale Friday morning.

“Where the Jaguar goes: can’t wait to see you there!! Tickets go on sale THIS FRIDAY at 10 AM local time (wherever you are)!!!” Monet wrote on Instagram, Monday. She’ll be stopping in NYC, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, and more cities.

As for the new music, Monet discussed her headspace while working on the project with Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1. “I was really having a hard time,” she admitted earlier this year. “I had postpartum depression, I was still breastfeeding, just adjusting to the life, but also in the midst of COVID. So we’re in a pandemic, everything’s a little bit risky, scary to even be in the studio with a child. And ‘On My Mama’ was the first record I did that I actually liked. But it came while I was in a place of disbelief in what I was actually saying. King Von’s “Grandson” Album Gets Tracklist Reveal Via New York City Billboards

King Von’s upcoming posthumous album Grandson may be a strong point of anticipation for fans, but to be fair, many of them also felt skeptical of a release beyond his lifetime. That being said, most of his fanbase thinks that regardless, this will be a well-curated and respectful homage to Von’s vision and artistry. After all, his team and estate took some time between his death, his first posthumous release, 2022’s What It Means To Be King, and this new project. What’s more is that, now that we have Grandson‘s official tracklist, hype for it came more naturally. Moreover, the album contains 17 tracks and a welcome list of featured guests.

Furthermore, these include Polo G on “Phil Jackson,” Lil Durk on “From the Hood,” G Herbo on “Real Oppy,” and 42 Dugg on “GangLand.” Other notable new features are Moneybagg Yo and Hotboii on “Out Of The Streets” and BreezyLyn and Tink on “Jealous.” Not only that, but Spotify revealed the tracklist through various billboards (including Times Square in New York City) and through digital means. Elsewhere, solo King Von cuts like “Pressure,” “Jimmy,” “All We Do Is Drill,” “When I Die,” and “Family Dedication 2” hold a lot of promise just based off their titles.

Of course, this is far from the first we’ve heard from the Chicago rapper’s next full-length release. Previously, we caught his solo track “Robberies” as a single, which continued to show his depth as a hardened and gritty storyteller. In addition, there’s also the very recent release of the song “Heartless” with Tee Grizzley, who matches King Von’s energy quite well. With these teasers in mind, this is shaping up to be a very solid offering from the late and legendary MC.

Meanwhile, even though that skepticism is there concerning the posthumous Grandson, it all comes down to the execution. As such, there’s a unique, somber and tragic form of pressure on this album to deliver and do right by his memory. But the artist’s skill and talent speaks for itself, and will likely be quite amplified and projected on Grandson.
