Netflix Announced The Release Date For ‘Rhythm + Flow’ Season 2 With New Judges DJ Khaled, Latto & Ludacris

Netflix’s rap competition show Rhythm + Flow has been teasing its second season for a while (it was originally scheduled for 2021), and while its release date had been a mystery for most of the year, today, the streamer finally announced when fans can catch the rise of the next potential rap superstar: November 20.

The show will return with a new slate of judges — DJ Khaled, Latto, and Ludacris — as well as a new location: Atlanta. Along with the new panel, the newly released trailer for the second season also teases its guest judges, which will include Big Sean, Busta Rhymes, GloRilla, and Remy Ma, as well as a return of the season one winner, D Smoke, who has since carved out a successful indie rap career that included a Grammy nomination and roles on the Paramount+ series Mayor Of Kingstown and the Peacock series Bel Air.

For those unfamiliar with the premise of the show, it’s very similar to other music competition series like American Idol and The X Factor, albeit focused on rappers rather than singers. The winner is awarded a cash prize rather than a record deal; in season one, the prize was $250,000. That’s enough to kickstart a career and promote at least a couple of solid singles.

You can check out the trailer for season two of Rhythm+Flow above.

David “Big Papi” Ortiz. Johnny Damon. Manny Ramirez. David Lowe. All of these former BoSox players will be in the new documentary from Netflix about the best postseason comeback in baseball history.

Premiering on Oct. 23, The Comeback: 2004 Boston Red Sox celebrates the 20th anniversary of the team’s groundbreaking postseason run, when the Red Sox came back from 3–0 in the playoffs against the Yankees before sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series.

Boston Red Sox fans will have a chance to go back two decades and hear first hand from some of the playmakers who turned Game 4 into Game 7 and “reversed the curse”. The “Curse of The Bambino” is an 66-year superstition among some baseball fanatics, especially in Boston, that the sale of Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees in 1920 kept the Red Sox from winning a World Series from 1918 until 2004.

The doc dives into the everlasting rivalry between the 27-time World Series Yankees and one of the oldest teams in Major League Baseball, Beantown’s BoSox. Directed by Colin Barnicle and executive produced by MLB, commentary from then Yankees skipper Joe Torre shows the other side of the coin with a team of superstars such as Alex Rodriguez, Dwight Gooden, Derek Jeter, Hideki Matsui ,Gary Sheffield and so many others, this story of the comeback shows how important baseball was and still is to both cities.

The doc is set to premiere at 8Pm EST exclusively on Netflix.

50 Cent’s Documentary About Diddy’s Abuse Allegations Has Officially Landed At Netflix

Back in May, it was reported that in a “bidding war,” Netflix won the rights to a documentary about Diddy’s abuse allegations, a doc produced by 50 Cent through his G-Unit Film and Television Studios. Now, it’s official, Variety reports.

The publication shared a statement attributed to 50 and director Alexandria Stapleton, which says:

“This is a story with significant human impact. It is a complex narrative spanning decades, not just the headlines or clips seen so far. We remain steadfast in our commitment to give a voice to the voiceless and to present authentic and nuanced perspectives. While the allegations are disturbing, we urge all to remember that Sean Combs’ story is not the full story of hip-hop and its culture. We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions.”

The project is currently in production and does not have an announced release date.

This comes after 50 said in July, “I’m the only one from hip-hop culture that’s produced quality projects. We do have a lot of talent within our culture where the talent has developed a comfortability in front of the camera, so they’re usually a part of it as an actor or driving force of why someone would watch the project; not the behind-the-scenes production, producing the whole project, so there’s a difference.”

50 Cent Solidifies Diddy Documentary Plans With Netflix

Amid Diddy’s longwinded legal battle, one of his most vocal critics has been 50 Cent. He consistently trolls the Bad Boy Records founder online and even began teasing a documentary about his legal woes late last year. In May, Fif made this a reality and sold the doc to Netflix. Now, the Alexandria Stapleton-directed doc has been confirmed, and its proceeds will go towards helping victims of sexual assault.

“This is a story with significant human impact. It is a complex narrative spanning decades, not just the headlines or clips seen so far,” 50 Cent and Stapleton told Variety exclusively today. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to give a voice to the voiceless and to present authentic and nuanced perspectives.”

“While the allegations are disturbing, we urge all to remember that Sean Combs’ story is not the full story of hip-hop and its culture,” they also added. “We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions.” An official title and release date for the doc has yet to be revealed. The news arrived shortly after Diddy was arrested in New York City last week and hit with multiple charges. He was later denied bail for a second time and is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Despite the circumstances, his lawyer Marc Agnifilo insists he’s “strong, healthy, confident and focused on his defense.” What do you think of 50 Cent’s upcoming Diddy documentary being confirmed for Netflix? Are you looking forward to seeing it when it finally comes out? What about the proceeds going to help victims of sexual assault? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

An Unofficial ‘Bridgerton’ Ball Sounds Like Fyre Festival And The Wonka ‘Experience’ After Treating Patrons To An Exotic Dancer And Raw Food

Bridgerton Season 2
Netflix

Lady Whistledown would not like this one bit, although the Duke might abide. John Oliver, who notoriously described Netflix’s Bridgerton as “lots of jizzing in blankets,” might also get a kick out of what awaited the show’s fans at an event that a Detroit-area organization advertised as the (Netflix-unaffiliated) “Detroit Bridgerton Ball” for a “Regency Era Dance” with this description:

Step into the enchanting world of the Regency era at the Detroit Bridgerton Themed Ball. Join us for an evening of sophistication, grace, and historical charm. Experience a night like no other filled with music, dance, and exquisite costumes.

What transpired, Dear Readers, was not as advertised. Local ABC affiliate Detroit 7 News must have gotten word of the event’s disastrous reception at historic social club Harmonie because reporters showed up “at the tail end,” where crews interviewed disgusted attendees, who couldn’t believe that there was “raw food” and “a stripper pole” instead of fine dining and Regency-era dancing. There was no Queen picking a “Diamond” for the courting season, and so on. The outlet quotes a sad Netflix fan:

“The way that it was described was this was going to be a Bridgerton evening. We were gonna have classical music, good dinner. There was gonna be a play and they were gonna pick Diamond of the season. They were gonna give away all of these prizes and we went in and it was completely empty in there,” said Amanda Sue Mathis as she stood outside of the Harmonie Club. “There is nothing going on. They have a pole in the middle of the dance floor. A stripper pole in the middle of the dance floor.”

This situation doesn’t sound quite as expensive and awful (or difficult to escape) as the Fyre Festival debacle on a remote island, or as surreal as the sorry Wonka-themed “Experience” in Glascow. Still, attendees reportedly invested hundreds of dollars on tickets to stare at their phones while sitting on the floor and wondering what happened. A full X/Twitter thread breaks down the madness, and the organizers of the event still haven’t explained why pole dancing was on the entertainment list. Maybe they are saving the context for a horror movie or Fyre Festival 3 (which will never happen).

SOURCE SPORTS: Barrios vs. Ramos Added To Netflix & MVP’s Paul vs. Tyson Mega-Event

Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) today announced the addition of an electrifying WBC Welterweight Championship bout, with reigning champion Mario “El Azteca” Barrios (29-2, 18 KOs) set to defend his title against Abel Ramos (28-6-2, 22 KOs). The 12-round WBC Welterweight Championship bout will take place on the undercard of the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson and Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano super event on Friday, November 15, 2024. Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson will stream live globally, exclusively on Netflix from the 80,000-seat capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys. Paul vs. Tyson and Taylor vs. Serrano 2 is anticipated to be the biggest boxing event in modern history, and fans can purchase tickets now at seatgeek.com.

Mario “El Azteca” Barrios is a rising star in the world of boxing, known for his fierce fighting style and deep connection to his Mexican heritage. Growing up in San Antonio, Texas, Mario was introduced to the sport at age six by his mother, Isabel Soto, who took him and his sister Selina to a local gym. Inspired by his cultural roots, Barrios embraced the moniker “El Azteca,” a tribute to the rich history and warrior spirit of the Aztec civilization, reflecting both his pride in his Mexican heritage and his relentless pursuit of greatness inside the ring.

He captured his first world title in 2019, defeating Batyr Akhmedov in a thrilling fight. Barrios later moved up to welterweight, where he faced top contenders, including a memorable bout against Gervonta “Tank” Davis in 2021. Barrios, the WBC Welterweight champion and former WBA World Super Lightweight Champion, was also recently rumored to be a potential opponent for Manny Pacquiao. He now returns to the ring after securing a dominant victory over Fabian Andres Maidana in his last outing as the co-main event of Canelo vs. Munguia.

“I’m thrilled to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime event,” said Mario Barrios. “The fight on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson card is huge, with millions watching live on Netflix. Abel Ramos is a tough Mexican fighter, just like me, so I know it’ll be a hell of a fight in front of my Texas people at the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium. I’m also excited to showcase my Indigenous roots on this global platform. Don’t miss this fight—it’s going to be war, Puro San Antonio!”

Abel Ramos, a relentless welterweight contender from Casa Grande, Arizona, is known for his thrilling battles and relentless determination in the ring. Guided by his family’s boxing legacy, Ramos began his amateur career at 13, earning accolades such as placing third in the National Golden Gloves and and won bronze at US Nationals in 2010. Transitioning to the professional ranks in 2011, he quickly built a reputation for his power and resilience, taking on formidable opponents like Ivan Baranchyk and Regis Prograis. This will be Ramos’ second world title opportunity after a SD loss to Yordenis Ugas in 2020. Ramos’s most dramatic victory came in 2020 with a last-second knockout against Bryant Perrella.

“I’m very excited to be fighting for the WBC title and I’m looking forward to a great fight against Mario Barrios,” said Abel Ramos. “He’s a warrior just like me and I’m going to give the fans at Cowboys Stadium and those watching around the world on Netflix an exciting fight on Friday, November 15th.”

“On Mexican Independence Day I am thrilled to announce the addition of Mario “El Azteca” Barrios to what I believe will be the most globally consumed boxing event since the advent of pay-per-view,” said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions. “Mario Barrios vs. Abel Ramos for the WBC Welterweight Championship will be an action packed fight that will fully embody the Mexican style of boxing and bring fans to their feet. Viva Mexico!”

Barrios vs Ramos joins Netflix and MVP’s Paul vs. Tyson mega-event, which will also feature as the co-main event, the most anticipated rematch in women’s boxing history between Matchroom’s undisputed super lightweight world champion Katie Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs), and boxing trailblazer and unified featherweight champion, Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (47-2-1, 31 KOs). This will mark Taylor and Serrano’s long-awaited rematch following their historic bout at Madison Square Garden in 2022, where they made history as the first-ever women fighters to headline an event in the iconic venue’s history. The women’s undisputed mega-fight will be contested across 10, two-minute rounds, Serrano’s only break from fighting 12×3, the men’s championship standard, for the remainder of her career. India’s number one boxer and MVP’s first international signee, Neeraj Goyat (18-4-2, 8 KOs), will also make his MVP debut against Brazil’s multi-talented superstar Whindersson Nunes, who holds a cumulative 2-2-1 record in his boxing career with 1 KO, in a professional 6-round super middleweight bout contested at 165 lbs.

Netflix’s ‘Emilia Pérez’ Teaser Trailer With Selena Gomez And Karla Sofía Gascón Previews An Utterly Unique Musical

Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for one of the year’s most critically-admired films. Directed by Jacques Audiard, Emilia Pérez is a crime musical starring Zoe Saldaña as a lawyer in Mexico who is hire by a cartel leader (Karla Sofía Gascón) to help fake her death so that she can finally embrace her true gender identity. The film, which earned an 11-minute standing ovation when it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, also stars Selena Gomez.

“I was very nervous because this is a project that is unlike anything I’ve ever done before,” the singer and Only Murders In The Building star told The Hollywood Reporter. “Even though I have such a small part, it’s such a big and special project that I feel so lucky that I was able to be a part of it. I felt better after the premiere, less nervous.”

You can watch the teaser above.

The female leads of Emilia Pérez — Karla Sofía Gascón, Adriana Paz, Zoe Saldaña, and Gomez — shared Best Actress at Cannes, with Gascón also becoming the first trans performer to win the award at the festival. “Women together — that’s something we wanted to honor when we made this award,” Barbie director and 2024 Cannes jury president Greta Gerwig said of the split honor. “Each of them is a standout, but together transcendent.”

Emilia Pérez comes to select theaters on November 1 and begins streaming on Netflix on November 13.
