Snoop Dogg is a big NBA fan, so it’s no surprise that he is a member of Laker Nation and is one of many fans disappointed with how the Los Angeles Lakers have shown their basketball prowess this season. They kicked off on a great foot, but with a current eighth seed placement in the Western Conference and a 3-7 record for their past ten games, things don’t look great. As such, many die-hards are calling on general manager Rob Pelinka and owner Jeanie Buss to make some big moves as executives, including Tha Doggfather. He recently stopped by ESPN‘s First Take on Friday (December 13) to make his demands clear.

“I think that we need to make some changes, man,” Snoop Dogg remarked. “Like, we brought back the exact same team from last year. No disrespect, but that ain’t gon’ cut it. We need to make some moves, move some people around, and you know, make some adjustments. Like, Jeanie, what’s the dude’s name? Hello, where you at? What you doing? Come on, man, make some moves, some adjustments. There’s some people out there that we can have on our squad, and you just got to make the decision that it’s time to make that move. Because, as Laker fans, y’all are on the clock. Y’all got to hurry up before we end up cussing y’all out and going all in on y’all like we normally do. Lonzo Ball Believes That Big Baller Brand Sneakers May Have Contributed To Leg Injuries

Chicago Bulls point guard Lonzo Ball finally returned to an NBA court this season. He missed two full seasons with a litany of leg injuries and surgeries. Ball has not yet been quite as dynamic as he was before the injuries. He also missed a month of action after an unrelated wrist injury kept him out of the lineup for 15 games. But, once he gets back into game shape, he will be a valuable contributor to an NBA team. Whether that’s in Chicago or on a contending roster looking for the piece that can make them a championship-winning team.

On Thursday, ESPN published an extensive piece detailing Lonzo Ball’s 1000-day road to recovery. For the first time, Ball spoke at length about the effect that playing in the Big Baller Brand sneakers had on his body. He compared the first version of the sneakers to “kickball shoes.” He only played in them twice during Summer League games. The second version of the shoe, which was manufactured by Skechers, were better. But Ball was still not a fan. His first major knee injury came in January 2018, when he wore the shoes as a rookie. “I think it’s a possibility for sure, to be honest with you,” Ball said when asked if the Big Baller Brand shoes contributed to his knee problems. “I wasn’t really getting hurt like that until I started wearing them.” The injuries and surgeries piled up until Ball opted for a cartilage replacement surgery, an unknown procedure in the athletics world. This meant that there would be no precedent to look to. It worked, and now Ball is back to doing what he loves.

Lonzo Ball Believes Big Baller Brand Sneakers May Have Contributed To Injury History

NBA fans will recognize “Big Baller Brand” as the basketball apparel brand that the once-ubiquitous LaVar Ball started while his sons were still playing at the amateur level. BBB existed to compete with other major brands and to separate the Ball brothers from the rest of the NBA. The ZO2s, which launched concurrently with BBB itself, first hit the market with a staggering $500 price tag. Ball previously recalled the sneakers being so poorly made that he’d have to change into a new pair every quarter because of how easily they ripped.

In the new ESPN profile, Lonzo Ball also recalled wanting to sign with Adidas in high school. He decided to bet on the success of Big Baller Brand instead. Though the brand still exists, Ball plays his NBA games in Nikes now. However, he has not signed an exclusive contract anywhere. In 2020, his younger brother LaMelo inked a nine-figure deal to become the face of Puma’s re-entry into the basketball market (under the creative direction of Jay-Z). Hopefully, the rest of Lonzo’s NBA journey is without any significant injury.

LeBron James recently announced a social media break on Twitter after speaking out against the constant negativity in the sports media world. Well, those weren’t his direct words, but he did retweet a message from Rick Kleiman about the topic, later letting followers know that he’s temporarily heading off the grid. “And with that said I’ll holla at y’all! Getting off social media for the time being. Y’all take care,” the NBA superstar shared. This prompted a lot of responses that baselessly connected him to the Diddy scandal, and many of them curiously came from more conservative individuals. We’re unaware of other contexts that maybe caused this specific response, but it was an odd phenomenon to witness.

Of course, LeBron James probably isn’t worried about any of that stuff, as he has other pressing extracurricular matters to attend off the court. They will lead some hate his way regardless thanks to his massive status, such as a lawsuit against him and Netflix for alleged copyright infringement. LaMelo Ball Speaks Out Following $100K Fine Over Homophobic Post-Game Comment

Charlotte Hornets superstar LaMelo Ball was fined $100,000 by the NBA this past weekend and for good reason. Following a game, Ball said the term “no homo.” Overall, a simple “pause” probably would have sufficed. However, he ended up taking it way too far. Although there were plenty of fans who were not offended, the league has to protect its image. Consequently, they came through with a well-deserved fine.

Following the fine, Hornets head coach Charles Lee spoke out on what happened. As he explains, LaMelo is very apologetic. “As an organization, that’s obviously not something that we condone. Our standards and what is required of our players in our environment that we create is really important to us,” Lee said. “I spoke to Melo and he’s obviously very apologetic from what I’ve seen since I’ve been around him. He loves everyone and he’s a joy to have around in the facility, and that’s not typically how he operates.”

LaMelo Ball Made A Big Mistake

“He and I talked about the seriousness of the situation and how he needs to conduct himself going forward, he understands what’s going to be expected of him. This is a teachable moment for LaMelo and we hope he learns from it. So far this season, he has been playing incredibly well. You never want to see a young player squander that because of a poor judgment call. Only time will tell whether or not Ball truly changes his ways.

Last night, Top5 found himself in social media headlines, yet again, although this time, it was because of his antics at a recent NBA game. He found himself courtside, sitting on the baseline for a match between the Toronto Raptors and the Denver Nuggets. At one point in the game, Russell Westbrook was very close to Top5, and the rapper took advantage with some “You suck” chants. The Heat did just that by commissioning a new statue to go outside of their arena. Last night, the statue was unveiled and Wade was there with his family for the honor. However, the unveiling did not go as planned. Overall, the statue turned out to be a massive disappointment. As you can see below, the statue did not look like Wade at all. The face was all jacked up, and Wade could not contain his disappointment. Multiple clips of Wade seemingly laughing at the statue went viral. Bronny James and his father LeBron are the NBA’s first father-son teammate duo, making any memorabilia commemorating the former’s entry into the league a representation of history. Moreover, according to TMZ, Bronny’s first Summer League jersey (which he wore for a July 12 game against the Houston Rockets in Las Vegas) sold at an auction by Sotheby’s in mid-September for over $38,000. It now belongs to the “Lakers Shrine,” largely acknowledged among the world’s most lauded private Los Angeles Lakers collections. But who bought it? It’s David Kohler, the president and founder of SCP Auctions. He doesn’t have an auction of his own, but he also has worn and owned items from many legends like Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabbar… You name it.

During Bronny James’ July 12 game, he scored eight points in 27 minutes as his first taste of NBA action, although he hasn’t played a regular season game yet. The Lakers will open the regular season on October 22 against the Minnesota Timberwolves. “I’m just excited to go out there and learn and learn from the people playing in front of me,” Bronny had told reporters about his first games on the court. “And, if I get a chance to showcase my game, then I’m going to do that to the best of my ability.”
