Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Surpasses 100 Million Streams In Just 9 Days, Sets Spotify Record

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” has surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify in under nine days, making it the fastest rap song to do so on the service. The track, which Lamar released as a diss song in his feud with Drake, beat out the Toronto rapper’s song “God’s Plan” to set the new record. Additionally, “Not Like Us” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Lamar’s first song to do so.

Lamar calls out Drake throughout the song, at one point rapping: “Why you trollin’ like a b*tch? Ain’t you tired? Tryna strike a chord and it’s probably A-Minor.” He also calls out his OVO imprint as well. “They tell me Chubbs the only one that get your hand-me-downs / And Party at the party, playin’ with his nose now / And Baka got a weird case, why is he around? Certified Lover Boy? Certified pedophiles,” he remarks.

Lamar’s include “Euphoria,” “6:16 In LA,” “Meet The Grahams,” and “Not Like Us.” Drake, on the other hand, dropped “Push Ups,” Taylor Made Freestyle,” “Family Matters,” and finally, “The Heart Part 6.” That last track dropped on May 5. There’s been silence from both artists in the time since.

B.G. Might Have To Send His Lyrics To A Probation Officer For Approval

B.G. was welcomed back with open arms by the hip-hop community last September. He served a 120-month long sentence for being a felon in possession of a firearm and obstruction of justice. However, after being reinstated, he has been slipping up. He was arrested in Las Vegas for performing with Boosie Badazz without the necessary written approval required under his parole for self-employment activities. Additionally, his collaboration with Gucci Mane, Choppers & Bricks, was another violation, as he is he is not allowed to work with convicted felons. Furthermore, his lyrics in his recent songs and videos are going against the goals of his release, which is to be a law-abiding citizen. Because of all of this B.G. could have to submit lyrics to his probation officer going forward.

According to an exclusive feature from AllHipHop, the Hot Boys band mate will soon have to appear in court to potentially modify his supervised release conditions. The changes could be quite drastic depending on how these hearings go. As we mentioned the lyrics are a focal point here, as B.G. could have to provide a copy of them. Furthermore, they will not be released to the public without the rapper’s consent or a court order. Only the government and his officer will have access to them.

B.G. Could Need Probation Officer Approval For More Than Just Lyrics

This could also extend beyond just B.G.’s own material. He will not be allowed to associate or work with previously convicted felons without obtaining written approval from the court. It is up to B.G. to determine whether or not they are as such and he could be prohibited from any self-employment gigs. Additionally, he would need to receive approval from the court to travel outside the District of Nevada, which is where he is being watched over. Finally, if these changes are put in place and he violates them again, he could go back to prison.

What are your thoughts on B.G. facing the possibility of needing a probation officer’s approval for lyrics? Do you think this is getting out of hand, or is this being gone about the right way? How serious of a drawback is this for the former Hot Boys MC? Do you think he will be able to stay out of his own way going forward, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding B.G. He revealed that he’s in a new relationship back in December and in the time since, fans have complained about him “moving on.” On Monday, he shared a picture with the new girl celebrating their first anniversary together.

“I get moving on, but why clear everything posted about gangsta boo?” one follower asked, as caught by AllHipHop. “Thats mad disrespectful imo. Did ASAP Ferg Change His Name?

Yesterday (May 14), ASAP Ferg shared a new song called “MDMX,” but the tune is raising questions about what name the rapper is going by these days.

Did ASAP Ferg Change His Name?

The new song is credited to just “Ferg,” not “ASAP Ferg.” The song has not yet made it to streaming platforms, where his name is still listed as ASAP Ferg (stylized as A$AP Ferg). His name is listed as just Ferg, though, on the Roc Nation website, as well as on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.

When Ferg signed with Roc Nation in 2021, Variety noted that Ferg “will go by just Ferg for his non-A$AP efforts.” A statement from Roc Nation also noted, “Ferg is very much still part of the Mob, and is A$AP Ferg within A$AP Mob… Ferg as an individual artist and with his solo career is Ferg.” So, unless the plan has changed since then, it appears he will go by both Ferg and ASAP Ferg depending on the context.

Meanwhile, Ferg also just made headlines for his new Gabby Elan grill. The piece pays tribute to late figures like Takeoff, Virgil Abloh, and ASAP Yams by featuring their faces on it, as Complex notes.

Tyrese Dips From Concert To Avoid A $10 Million Lawsuit: Watch

It is safe to say that Tyrese cannot breathe for more than five seconds without getting hit with legal documents. The 45-year-old was performing for Mother’s Day at the Stockbridge Amphitheater in Georgia and was close to wrapping things up. According to TMZ, he was only three songs away from being done but then a security guard appears to whisper something in his ear. After being informed, he hopped off the stage, sang to the crowd for a bit while walking, and then dipped. The reason for Tyrese cutting out of his concert early is because he was going to handed down a hefty lawsuit.

The person looking for $10 million is a music video and movie producer named Bryan Barber. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, this lawsuit was put in motion back in October of last year. Barber is suing for defamation and libel for some comments that Tyrese made on The Breakfast Club. In that interview the actor and singer claims that Barber shot footage of him speaking to Charlamagne Da God at Gibson’s Atlanta home, and then refused to hand over the evidence. Tyrese also says that he paid $35,000 for the footage and he snatched it from him.

“I don’t care if he sees this interview because I’m too honest,” Tyrese told Charlamagne during their interview. On the lawsuit paperwork that Tyrese scurried away from, Barber laid out a 50/50 revenue split for him and Tyrese. However, the director alleged that he did not want the video released, as he felt it would damage his reputation. Tyrese thanked his supporters for coming out to the show but did not address why he was looking to get out of Dodge.

What are your thoughts on Tyrese dipping out of his performance early to avoid receiving a lawsuit? How do you see this playing out going forward? Outside of Diddy, is there any other hip-hop celebrity dealing with more drama right now? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Shaq & Shannon Sharpe Beef, Unpacked

It looks like the sports legends don’t want to be left out of the 2024 rap war because who would have thought we’d be getting a diss track aimed at Shannon Sharpe from Shaquille O’Neal? In the space of three short days, the two prominent figures in sports media have suddenly begun feuding. It all started when Shannon Sharpe criticized Shaq on his podcast, and O’Neal responded on Instagram. But is there really animosity between the two sportsmen? Or is it all just for show? Here’s how we got here.

The Fuel: Shaq Shares His Opinion On The MVP Title

On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, Shaq and his team announced on TNT’s Inside The NBA that Nikola Jokic had won MVP for the third time in four years. After reviewing several of Jokic’s stats, host Ernie Johnson asked Shaq for his opinion. Shaq promptly expressed his dissatisfaction with the voting results. He also suggested that the Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander should have won instead.

“Congratulations to Joker, you are the best big man in the league, but … I thought Shai Alexander deserved it,” he said. Moments later, Jokic joined the show, and Shaq spoke with the newly crowned MVP. While he praised Jokic, he reiterated his perspective on who he felt deserved the title. “Joker, as the president of the Big Man alliance, you are the vice president of the Big Man alliance, you know I love you,” Shaq said. “The best player in the league, I wanna congratulate you. But I want you to hear it from me first, I thought that SGA should’ve been the MVP. That’s no disrespect to you, but congratulations.” Jokic took Shaq’s opinion in stride, even cracking a joke amidst the conversation, and all was well and good until Shannon Sharpe joined the conversation.

The Lighter: Shannon Sharpe Accuses Shaq Of Jealousy

The following day, on the new episode of the Nightcap podcast, Shannon Sharpe was discussing the MVP results and called Shaq envious. He then suggested that Shaq had acted out of jealousy since, according to Sharpe, he isn’t among the NBA’s greatest. “I think a part of Shaq, he might not ever admit this, but Shaq sees these guys win these MVPs and is a little envious,” Sharpe said. “I understand that Shaq got four titles and he has three Finals MVPs, but Shaq knows deep down. We should be having the discussion — for G.O.A.T., Shaq’s name is never brought up in the discussion.”

As if that weren’t enough, Shannon Sharpe went on to say that Shaq robbed himself of such titles because he “didn’t take it seriously enough.” He continued, “Shaq should have five MVPs. Shaq should have seven titles. And he sees a guy like Nikola Jokic that’s not as dominant as him and he gets three in four years, and people are talking about him.”

Shaq didn’t take the comments lightly. He took to Instagram later on Thursday night and shared an extensive response to Shannon Sharpe. “You took me sticking up for @shai as jealousy?? shows how smart you are and how you say anything to get clicks. So, here’s some clickbait for you. If you ain’t ranked in the top ten in your profession, then you can’t speak on me… I have it, you don’t, not in my profession. And your goat debate never wanted to be the goat. I wanted to be who you should greet me as THE MOST DOMINANT EVER,” he wrote.

A post shared by DR. SHAQUILLE O’NEAL Ed.D. (@shaq)

Soon after, Shannon Sharpe made a response to Shaq’s Instagram rant on Friday’s episode of Nightcap. While he clarified that he never said he was as great as Shaq, Sharpe insisted he got where he is through his hard work and consistency. “I’ve never professed that I was as great as Shaq,” he said. “But what I will say, I got what I got because I worked my ass off. Now Shaq has been the one to say it, that he didn’t work as hard, that he didn’t train as hard, he didn’t eat as well as he should have… Yeah, you’re more famous than me. Yeah, you’re more well-known. You’re gonna have way more money than I ever had. But nobody will ever say that I was lazy or I cheated myself. That’s all I got for you, big boy. I ain’t got nothing else for you. I ain’t here to argue with you, I’m not here to debate with you.”

O’Neal released a portion of his diss track aimed at Sharpe later that day on Instagram. The 1-minute 30-second track begins with a collection of soundbites. Shannon Sharpe can be heard discussing how much it bothers Shaq to have only one MVP award. He then comes for Sharpe with rap lines like, “Shannon Sharpe, man, you’re way beneath me / Your whole demeanor is faker than new rapper beefy / You’re soft, before you get fly, you rather tweet me.”

The End

Shaq subsequently expressed that he was done with the beef. “Love y’all, now I’m done with this. I’ll be at the Bahamas crib if anyone needs me,” he wrote. Shannon Sharpe further clarified by posting on X (formerly Twitter) that there is no animosity between him and Shaq. And just like that, it seems the feud between the two legends is dead.
