Whitney Alford’s Attendance At Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” Show Has Fans Calling Drake A Liar

Kendrick Lamar fans have a lot to digest from “The Pop Out” last night (Wednesday, Juneteenth), whether it’s concerning the Drake beef or just celebrating the West Coast. On the former point, arguably the less impactful of the two, there was one particular attendee in the stands that caught many fans’ attention… to be more specific, multiple concert-goers. K.Dot’s partner Whitney Alford was there to watch the whole thing go down, seemingly with their children together as well. Given all the things that the Toronto superstar said about their relationship, a lot of fans now think that his words don’t ring as true as he or anyone else thought.

Moreover, if you forgot, Drake claimed that Kendrick Lamar is actively cheating on Whitney Alford, physically abused her, and that he barely sees his kids after moving to a Brooklyn apartment. Of course, the Compton lyricist already spoke on the strain of his bond with Whitney on Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, so chastising an imperfect relationship didn’t become that surprising or notable. What did shock listeners was Drizzy’s claim that one of their children is actually Dave Free’s, who is a close collaborator and business partner of Kendrick’s. To be fair, OVO Stans also jumped to conclusions much in the same way that pgLang affiliates are now when Whitney’s IG account was silent on Father’s Day. No party has responded to the Toronto superstar’s allegations.

Whitney Alford & Kids At Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out”

However, it’s also arguable that physical presence speaks louder than online ones, and either way, we don’t really know for sure what their relationship looks like, nor should we. The important thing is that she and presumably thier family were there to support Kendrick Lamar. Still, this isn’t the only way in which this show seemed to represent a direct response to that rumor. Dave Free produced the show, and his inclusion at the very top of that credits list meant for many Mr. Morale fans that he was actively combating Drake’s narrative of division or tension between them.

Meanwhile, fans speculated quickly on what Drake’s thoughts on all of this are, and reached some interesting conclusions. Obviously, that depends a lot on which “side” they chose to support in this Kendrick Lamar battle. We’re sure that many other elements of “The Pop Out” will continue to fuel this post-beef discussion. But on the family front, things seem more tranquil than these back-and-forths led on.

Tyler The Creator Cancels Lollapalooza & Outside Land Festival Sets, Megan Thee Stallion & Sabrina Carpenter Replacing Him

Tyler The Creator is one of the best performers alive right now, and anytime he’s headlining a festival, it’s a great chance to see him at peak powers. Sadly, he announced on Thursday morning (June 20) that he has to cancel his slots at Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 1 and Outside Lands in San Francisco on August 10. These festivals acted quickly to secure replacements, though, and fans will be treated to Megan Thee Stallion and Sabrina Carpenter instead, respectively. While this news surely disappointed many fans and concert-goers, unfortunately not all live performances can work out as scheduled, and the Los Angeles native just so happened to be the latest example in this common reality.

“I hate saying this but I have to cancel Lollapalooza and Outside Lands,” Tyler, The Creator wrote on Twitter, which contained a vague explanation and sincere apologies and remorse. “I made a commitment that I can no longer keep, and that bums me out knowing how excited folks were. That is not sexy at all. Please please forgive me or call me names when you see me in person. Love.”

Tyler The Creator Pulls Out Of Lollapalooza & Outside Lands Festivals

Of course, this carries a particularly different sting to it depending on whether or not you went to Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” concert last night (Wednesday, Juneteenth). Tyler, The Creator was one of many hometown artists who came out for a special guest performance, electrifying the crowd with “WUSYANAME” and “EARFQUAKE.” Out of all the surprises and invitees both onstage and in the crowd, the Hawthorne creative was probably the one that shocked fans the most. After all, his name didn’t appear much in fan speculation about who would join K.Dot for the momentous occasion, and not a single soul complained about this welcome link-up.

Meanwhile, for anyone that knows the extent of Tyler, The Creator’s longevity as an artist and performer, they know that he will likely repay these canceled festival headline sets soon with more great performances. Also, this longevity became very apparent in his music when his 2013 album Wolf recently reached over a billion streams on Spotify. Hopefully Golf Wang fans who looked forward to Lollapalooza and Outside Lands get another chance soon to see their GOAT. But at least Los Angeles got a special treat to make up for it.

The Game Skips Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” Show & Leaves Fans Wondering Why

Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” concert boasted a lot of special guest performers and attendees, but there’s one particular exclusion that has many fans speculating on potential explanations. Moreover, the show was a celebration of all things West Coast, but some rappers that have repped Los Angeles all the way did not appear for unknown and likely innocent reasons. However, one MC who didn’t attend might have more reason to avoid an appearance, and that’s The Game. Social media began to theorize on why he wasn’t there, especially considering that he and K.Dot have had a pretty good and stable relationship over the years.

Still, some factors have always interfered with this perception, such as past claims of jealousy and, most notably and recently, The Game’s apparent support of Drake during the latter’s beef with Kendrick Lamar this year. In fact, he even dissed Rick Ross, who supported Ken against his formerly close colleague Drizzy, so a lot of fans assumed that the Los Angeles spitter sided with his city’s opposition this time around. Regardless of whether this was intentional or not, there honestly aren’t a whole lot of solid indicators that he actually picked a side. The closest thing we got to that was a social media post playing The Boy’s “Energy,” which was enough confirmation for many.

Kendrick Lamar With A Sea Of West Coast Artists & Fans At “The Pop Out”

Meanwhile, this is what The Game had to say a few years ago about his exclusion from 2022’s Super Bowl halftime show, which hosted many Los Angeles artists including Kendrick Lamar. “I was hurt by that,” he told I Am Athlete‘s Brandon Marshall. “The real reason I wasn’t on the Super Bowl is because I’m not a ‘safe’ artist. You don’t know what the Game gon’ do when he get up there. So, it’s just like, ‘He not safe,’ so they went with the safe artists.

Fans React To & Speculate On The Game’s Absence

“We, on the West Coast, are the only motherf***ers who have this crab-in-a-barrel mentality, where we wanna keep n***as down,” The Game claimed. “Snoop Dogg is icon. Dre is icon [he popped out for the Kendrick Lamar show, too]. Em is an icon, but Em is not from L.A. 50 is not from L.A. I’m not taking away from the fact that they were on the Super Bowl, but L.A. [artists] wouldn’t have been in the Detroit Super Bowl or New York Super Bowl. It just wouldn’t have happened… L.A., L.A., L.A. all around the Super Bowl and I didn’t get the call.”

Kendrick Lamar Seemingly Trolls Drake By Putting Dave Free At The Top Of His “Pop Out” Credits

Kendrick Lamar had the entire hip-hop world in the palm of his hand on Wednesday night. Overall, this was thanks to his “Pop Out” show on Juneteenth in Inglewood. The night was an incredible one for hip-hop fans of all ages. The OGs were treated to legends like Dr. Dre and even South Central staples like Tommy The Clown. Meanwhile, the youth were treated to some of the best young acts the West Coast has to offer. If you love hip-hop, last night was truly something special.

Throughout the evening, fans were looking for clues in regards to whether or not Kendrick was dissing Drake. Of course, there were plenty of clues out there. One of which involved none other than Kendrick’s right hand man, Dave Free. On “Family Matters,” Drake accused Dave Free of being the father of one of Lamar’s kids. Well, on Wednesday night, Kendrick had his fiancee Whitney and his two kids in attendance. Furthermore, Kendrick made sure Dave Free was at the top of the Credits for the evening.

Kendrick Lamar Knows How To Be Subtle

Fans on social media immediately felt as if this was a direct shot at Drake. After all, Dave Free was supposed to be a big punchline for Drizzy and the OVO fans out there. Instead, Kendrick flipped it on them, and he is standing by his guy. Dave Free is the creative mind behind pgLang, so it should come as no surprise that he was also listed as a creative director for the event. If one thing is for certain, every single person behind last night’s event should be proud of what they put together.

Are Kendrick Lamar And His Fiancée Whitney Alford Still Together?

It was probably safe to say that Kendrick Lamar “won” his little tiff with Drake back in May after Drake essentially waved the white flag and went into exile (read: on vacation) in the wake of the massive success of Kendrick’s diss track “Not Like Us” — and the epic failure of Drake’s return fire, “The Heart Part 6.”

But Kendrick Lamar wasn’t quite ready to let things lie, using his Pop Out concert in LA to not only beat a dead horse but to scorch the earth it was buried in, too. Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar’s fiancée, Whitney Alford, was in attendance after Drake’s diss records cast aspersions on her relationship with his rival. If anyone was wondering whether Kendrick and Whitney are still together after all the hoopla generated by Drake’s diss tracks, this may not be the definitive answer they were looking for, but it seems to prove they’re still on good terms, if nothing else. (They’d have to be, they have two kids together.)

Meanwhile, the list of those celebrities who “popped out” at last night’s concert is extensive and appears to include many of those who Drake would have considered homies before. The tough breaks keep coming for the Canadian star, but he did bring this on himself.

The Weeknd Pops Out At Kendrick Lamar’s Juneteenth Show In Los Angeles

Kendrick Lamar sure popped out last night on Juneteenth at Inglewood, California, and both the crowd and the stage held some very special guests for the occasion. Moreover, a new video emerged on social media of The Weeknd partying with Big Hit during the show, particularly at the moment in which ScHoolboy Q came out to perform “Collard Greens” and complete the long-awaited reunion of Black Hippy alongside K.Dot, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock. It seems like the two were having a great time, and we can only wonder what other celebrities and musicians were also in attendance for the concert.

Furthermore, The Weeknd’s appearance is particularly interesting, since he most likely has more than one reason to show his support. Not only is Kendrick Lamar a former collaborator (see Starboy‘s “Sidewalks”), but Abel Tesfaye also dissed Drake during the WE (STILL) DON’T TRUST YOU collaborative album series from Future and Metro Boomin. OVO and XO’s beef took center stage after years of speculation and rumored tension, and The Boy clapped back with some bars for his Canadian rivals on his “Push Ups” and “Family Matters” disses. For what it’s worth, the “Gasoline” superstar didn’t really respond much to any of this drama besides his subliminal shots on “All To Myself.”

The Weeknd At Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out”

Elsewhere in the crowd, other notable names that popped out at Kendrick Lamar’s show included NBA superstars like James Harden and LeBron James. In fact, DeMar DeRozan (who caught a lyrical nod from Kendrick on “Not Like Us” for leaving the Toronto Raptors) and Russell Westbrook went onstage to dance to this diss track and rep their Los Angeles roots. Some of these guests and invitees were expected; others were complete surprises. All in all, it made for a pretty grand moment to witness.

Meanwhile, a lot of folks are now wondering what Drake must think of all these folks who went to Kendrick Lamar’s show. Maybe he’s not that surprised at The Weeknd’s appearance, or doesn’t really care altogether that much. Either way, there are probably still some more names that we’ll see attached to this event that will emerge in the coming days. Fans of these artists can only hope that The Idol creative’s attendance means that there’s another Ken collab in the cards.

Sexyy Red Jokingly Claims She’s Done With Chief Keef After He Flirts With King Von’s Sister

Sexyy Red is one of the biggest women artists in hip-hop right now. Overall, this is thanks to a plethora of viral singles that have showcased just how much of a hitmaker she is. She has delivered some truly impressive songs so far, and her albums have also been pretty massive. Furthermore, the artist has been able to develop friendships with industry titans like Drake and Chief Keef. In fact, her relationship with Chief Keef is one that will stand the test of time.

That’s why it was funny for fans to see Sexyy Red cursing out Keef on her Instagram story last night. Why was she doing this? Well, because the rapper was seen flirting with King Von’s sister Kayla B, in her Instagram comments section. Kayla B and Chief Keef having been going back and forth online as of late, and Sexyy began to catch on. This subsequently led to her telling Keef that she was done with him. Although she did so in a sarcastic way that shows she was not being serious.

Kendrick Lamar Really Popped Out: The West Coast Is Back On Top

It’s officially Juneteenth in Los Angeles, and there was only one place to be: Kendrick Lamar’s show at the Kia Forum. This was Kendrick Lamar’s The Pop Out – Ken & Friends concert, and the Compton native capitalized on the moment by allowing fans across the world to tune in. The show was live-streamed on Prime Video and Amazon Music‘s Twitch Channel, courtesy of pgLang (Kendrick and Dave Free’s media company) and Free Lunch.

Pulling up to the venue in Inglewood, California, it was immediately apparent what fans were waiting for: Kendrick Lamar to perform his viral smash “Not Like Us,” which instantly solidified the victor in the Drake vs. Kendrick beef. When the song dropped toward the end of the show, Kendrick had the entire West Coast lit, screaming in unison, “Ayy, Mustard on the beat ho!”

DJ Mustard’s Los Angeles All-Stars

With “Not Like Us” produced by Mustard himself, it was only right to have him open right before Kendrick. But we didn’t expect the all-star roster of artists he was about to bring out. First up with rookie 310Babii who has the summer smash “Soak City.” Then came LA favorites BLXST, Ty Dolla $ign, Dom Kennedy, Steve Lacy, Tyler The Creator, Roddy Ricch, and YG in that order.

With everyone on a high from YG’s “BPT,” it was finally time for Kendrick to take the stage. The beauty in attending this concert in person is witnessing Kendrick Lamar make history in real time while feeling the camaraderie in the entire stadium. People of all ages and ethnicities were gathered here, all purchasing a ticket to support one the greatest artists to ever do it.

Soon, the impatience kicked in as fans started cheering “O-V-Ho!” There are so many quotable lyrics in “Not Like Us,” and Kendrick made a point to give everyone their money’s worth. He ascended from underneath the stage, emerging from the floor in a squatting pose.

Sometimes You Gotta Pop Out

He kicked off with “Euphoria,” the fiery response to Drake’s “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle.” And while the die-hard fans were screaming the lyrics verbatim, a noticeable lyric change may have gone over some people’s heads at first. “Give me Tupac’s ring back and I might give you a little respect,” he rapped, referencing a ring owned by the late great Tupac Shakur that Drake purchased at an auction. Drake confirmed he bought this ring in a social media post before seemingly alluding to the purchase in Travis Scott’s “Meltdown”: “I pull out a million to stare at this shit.”

I Don’t Do It From The ‘Gram, I Do It For Compton!

When the lights came on, you could finally see Kendrick’s fit: a red hoodie, red cap, jeans, black glasses, and a huge chain around his neck. A few chains actually, with one being a huge cross pendant. Fans speculate this paid homage to Tupac’s iconic red fit at The Source Awards in 1994. It’s the details for us!

Regardless if you’re from L.A. or not, you were proud as f*ck to be in the building tonight. It became even more clear as the Compton star ran through hit records from To Pimp A Butterfly and DAMN. Kendrick proceeded to perform catalog staples like “DNA.”, “Alright,” and “ELEMENT” —  in which fans screamed, “I don’t do it for the ‘Gram, I do it for Compton!”

The Long-Awaited Black Hippy Reunion

At this point, it was time for Kendrick to bring out his TDE family. Jay Rock was first up, as fans were reminded of their standout collaboration on “Money Trees.” But it was Jay Rock’s “WIN” that stole the show. Ab-Soul was next, joining Kendrick Lamar on stage to perform “6:16 In L.A.” and giving a shout-out to Carson. ScHoolboy Q followed for “Collard Greens” and “THat Part,” before Black Hippy stuck around on stage to dance along to “King Kunta.” From there, Kendrick led into an arsenal of bangers including “m.A.A.d. city,” “HUMBLE.”, and his explosive verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That.” There was definitely a moment of wondering: is Future or Metro going to pop out, too?! Especially since Metro was just in Los Angeles for his comic book pop-up less than a week ago.

California Love, For Real

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any more lit, Kendrick brought out the one and only Dr. Dre. The moment the piano-laden intro for “Still D.R.E.” begins, the entire Kia Form erupted with cheer as Dr. Dre emerged from the stage’s floor. “You know I had to come back and do this kinda sh*t in my hometown. Especially, one of the greatest to ever did it! Can y’all make some noise for Kendrick f**king Lamar?” Dr. Dre told the crowd. Kendrick then asks the crowd to make noise for Compton, California, before performing “California Love” by Tupac. Iconic is an understatement!

But, my personal favorite part of the show happened right before Dr. Dre was about to leave the stage. The N.W.A legend began making his exit, and Kendrick convinced him to make one last statement to the crowd. Dr. Dre then kneeled down and whispered: “Psst, I see dead people,” before the infectious production of “Not Like Us” dropped. You can’t make this shit up.

Why you trollin’ like a b**ch? Ain’t you tired?/ Tryna strike a chord and it’s probably A minorrrrr.” Kendrick held this note and did his little dance move in the air, only to run back “Not Like Us” from the top. He ended up playing it a total of seven times for the evening, and we were all here for it.

Popping Out 7 More Times

History was made tonight. Kendrick united all the gangs and hoods in the building, from Bloods to Crips to everything in between. And he made a point to stand on two important values: peace and love. “We done lost a lot of homies to this music shit, lotta homies to the street sh*t,” he said.

The grand finale brought Mustard back on stage to run back “Not Like Us” for the fourth time, before eventually bringing out all the artists in the building. From the new generation to the OGs, K. Dot highlighted the city in the most beautiful way possible. “We’ve been f*cked up since Nipsey died, hold up. We’ve been f*cked up since Kobe died, hold up!”

Nipsey Hussle Receives Touching Tribute During Mustard’s Set At Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out”

The Pop Out” from Kendrick Lamar and friends was a special occasion for many reasons, and not even the Drake beef could make this feel like anything less of a West Coast celebration on Juneteenth. Of course, Los Angeles has lost a lot over the years, and during Mustard’s set, he made sure to honor one of their fallen legends. Nipsey Hussle received a touching tribute during this performance, with a massive projected license plate that read “RIP NIP, The Marathon Continues” on the Jumbotrons. The DJ played “Perfect Ten,” “Last Time That I Checc’d” with YG, and “Racks In The Middle” with a special Roddy Ricch appearance.

Later on that night, Kendrick Lamar also remarked on the pain of losing Kobe Bryant, and other performers took time to shout out their lost comrades. It was one of a few emotional and significant moments at “The Pop Out,” and one that continues to keep Nipsey Hussle’s legacy and memory alive, whether for his art or for his commitment to his community. “This day decided to fall on Easter Sunday this 2024, interesting…” his partner Lauren London wrote on his passing’s anniversary this year. “Considering your name #GodWillRise. Energy never dies… I love you. Eternal Eternal.”

Mustard Pays Tribute To Nipsey Hussle

Another performer at “The Pop Out” was Ty Dolla $ign, who released a Nipsey Hussle collab this year via the VULTURES 1 track “DO IT” also featuring YG. There were a lot of people there both in the crowd and backstage who have very fond and special memories of Nip and his time on this Earth. Furthermore, it was partially why the show felt like such a wide-ranging and cathartic set of emotions. It seemed like everyone involved was well-aware of how big this moment was, and paying tribute to him was an unmissable responsibility to assume.

Meanwhile, “The Pop Out” also paid tribute, in a certain way, to the old days of many of these legends. For example, Black Hippy finally gave fans a long-awaited reunion, with Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, ScHoolboy Q, and Jay Rock having fun together. Dr. Dre also emerged to perform some of his classics and introduce “Not Like Us.” It was a beautiful recognition of where they’ve been, and a heartening promise of where they still have to go.
Rest In Peace Nipsey Hussle.

Travis Scott Was Arrested On Disorderly Intoxication And Trespassing Charges, And He Seemingly Shared A Reaction

Travis Scott was arrested in Miami Beach, Florida on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing on property after a warning.

According to Miami’s WSVN, the incident took place early this morning, at 12:44 a.m. on June 20. Officers were called to the Miami Beach Marina, where Scott was reportedly getting off a charter boat when the boat owner asked him to leave. According to police, Scott “became irate screaming profanities, left and returned to disturb some more.” He was arrested at 1:17 a.m. and booked at 4:35 a.m. (at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, per NBC News).

Seemingly in reaction to the news, Scott posted on X (formerly Twitter) this morning, “Lol.”

This comes a month after Scott was involved in a scuffle at a Cannes Film Festival party in May. Scott and Alexander “AE” Edwards, who reportedly instigated the conflict, got into a physical altercation at the event, where punches were thrown.

Meanwhile, Scott recently settled the final Astroworld Festival wrongful death lawsuit, shortly after nine out of the 10 suits were settled weeks earlier. However, there are still hundreds of injury cases (which were combined into a single case under a Texas statute) that have not been settled and are still on the table.
