Latto Had To Help Usher Sing At Birthday Bash Due To Technical Difficulties

Latto recently brought out a whole slew of special guests for her historic headline performance at Atlanta’s HOT 107.9 Birthday Bash concert, the first by a female in the station’s bash’s history. However, things didn’t always go perfect, as Usher faced some technical mic issues while trying to perform his track “Superstar.” She stepped in with her own vocals and helped him sing it and move onto another cut, and he paid tribute to her with a tender speech. “You know, we have this thing that we do in Atlanta, where we just seem to keep making history. Tonight, Latto made history, being the first female to [headline] Birthday Bash. We wanna give her her flowers one time.”

Furthermore, Latto and Usher have developed a pretty close bond in recent years, bolstered by collaborations like her appearance on his new album COMING HOME. It’s great to see older and newer generations come together and support each other, even when their genre focuses might not always line up perfectly. Artists don’t always maintain this as a priority these days, but it’s resulted in some killer crossovers and opportunities over the years. We can’t help but wonder who will be the next multi-generational duo to cause a splash and try to create a big moment.

Meanwhile, we know for sure that the tension between older and newer artists doesn’t usually compare to that between two rising stars, as we’re literally seeing right now. For example, a lot of folks think that Ice Spice and Latto are locked in a not-so-cold war, trading some pretty direct shots and easily spottable subliminals. Whether or not this is the case, the perceived feud is certainly pushing their promo machines pretty heavily. Maybe it’s not that deep, but it’s working out in their favor either way.

Still, maybe it would be best if the industry didn’t push a beef between two femcees for little reason other than they can. Nevertheless, there is too much giving credence to this idea for us to make a proper judgement. We’ll see whether there’s actually tension here if if they are as debunked as Sexyy Red beef rumors. Either way, Latto will likely continue to find massive success.

He soundtracked the post with Metro Booomin’s “BBL Drizzy.” The original picture stems from a trip Shaq took to Spain in 2019, but there are conflicting reports about the identity of the woman. Some outlets have claimed her to be model Danielle Dilworth.

Plenty of Drake fans criticized the NBA legend when DJ Akademiks shared the post on Instagram. “This makes Shaq look way crazier than Drake. Drake is photo shopped. Shaq actually in this pic [laughing emoji]. Look like a pic he get off on,” one user wrote. Another added: “Imagine if Drake did something like this. Shaq isn’t the first NBA star to weigh in on the drama surrounding Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Metro Boomin, and more artists. Lamar’s recent concert in Los Angeles, The Pop Out – Ken & Friends, featured several professional basketball players. LeBron James, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, and DeMar DeRozan were all in attendance. Yungeen Ace has fans on social media in disbelief after he dropped the track, “Do It,” following the death of 26-year-old rapper Foolio on Sunday. The two had been aggressively beefing for years prior to the incident. On the new song, he raps at one point: “Every car I’ve been these b tinted / Choppers and killers in it / Catch his ass and do his ass you know he finished / He with his baby do it / He with this b*tch do it / With his mama do it.” He doesn’t mention Foolio explicitly, but the timing and themes of the release were noteworthy to fans.

“Bro already celebrating,” one top comment on the YouTube video reads. Another adds: “Dropping dis Shii da same day he died is crazy work.” One more user joked: “They said the feds gonna love this one.” Another remarked: “Dj vlad just called this man, willing to send a car and everything.” More fans spread rest-in-peace messages for Foolio.

Foolio was shot and killed outside of a Holiday Inn while celebrating his birthday in Tampa, Florida over the weekend. His lawyer, Lewis Fusco, confirmed details of his client’s death in a statement he shared on Instagram, on Sunday. He wrote: “Mr. Jones had been in Tampa to celebrate his birthday over the weekend. Law enforcement reports indicate that he initially stayed at an Airbnb but was asked to leave due to exceeding occupancy limits. He subsequently relocated to the Holiday Inn, where he was involved in an incident in the hotel parking lot and reportedly ambushed. While these events involving our client, Mr. Charles Jones, have been disclosed by law enforcement, we are unable to provide further comments at this time until additional details become public record. We kindly request that the privacy of Mr. Jones and his family be respected during this difficult time.”

Pop Smoke’s Murder Trial Has Reportedly Been Delayed After Plea Negotiations With Final Defendant Fell Through

February 2024 marked the 4-year anniversary of Pop Smoke’s (real name Bashar Barakah Jackson) death. The late “Dior” rapper’s tragic murder hit the rap community hard.

Since then, Jackson’s family have updated the public about their grieving process. The conclusion of his trial could help push it along. Unfortunately, according to Rolling Stone the case has experienced a delay.

On June 21, the outlet revealed negotiations with Corey Walker, the only defendant to be tried as an adult, have hit a wall. The defendant’s lawyer, Deion Benjamin, shared a statement with the publication.

“Negotiations fell through,” he said. “But there’s still a possibility we’ll come to an agreement. A few things need to be ironed out. If they don’t get resolved, we’ll go to trial.”

The legal fates of the two other alleged assailants has been determined. In April 2023, another defendant linked to the case pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter. The following month, another man reportedly pled guilty to participating in the incident.

During an interview with ABC News, Jackson’s mother, Audrey, spoke about her reaction to the gut-wrenching news. “It didn’t sink in,” she said. “And as I was moving through, it still wasn’t… It didn’t hit until I actually saw his body, which was a few days in. Intellectually, I understood. And that kind of is still where I am. Intellectually, I understand it. The rest of me hasn’t.”

Jury selection for Walker’s trial is reportedly scheduled to take place on August 6.

TMZ has obtained footage showing the aftermath of the violent shooting that resulted in the death of 26-year-old rapper Foolio. The video shows a grim scene. Cars are riddled with bullet holes while a victim is being carried away on a stretcher. There’s a large number of police vehicles in the area as well as paramedics and other emergency personnel.

Foolio was in Tampa to celebrate his 26th birthday at an Airbnb. After throwing a party, he was kicked out for having too many people on the property. In turn, the group relocated to a nearby Holiday Inn, where Foolio was ambushed. He had publicized that he was in the city on his Instagram page beforehand. Foolio’s lawyer, Lewis Fusco, released a statement on his Instagram page on Sunday in which he confirmed the reports about his client’s death and asked for privacy for his family. Tributes for the late rapper have been pouring out on social media. However, not all of the responses have been so positive. Yungeen Ace, who was engaged in a serious feud with Foolio for years, dropped a new song titled, “Do It,” just hours after news of the Florida rapper’s death became public. “Catch his ass and do his ass, you know he’s finished,” Ace raps at one point in the track. Foolio was shot and killed outside of a Holiday Inn while celebrating his 26th birthday in Tampa, Florida over the weekend.

The beef between Ace and Foolio has lasted several years. It stems from a rivalry between their respective crews, Ace’s ATK and Foolio’s KTA. There have been several shootings with victims on both sides of the violence. In 2021, Ace collaborated on, “Who I Smoke,” on which he mentions the names of several dead associates of Foolio. Foolio responded with “When I See You,” which samples a news team’s coverage of the killing of Ace’s brother.

Roger Bonds Recalls Asking One Of Kim Porter’s “Close Friends” About Diddy After Her Death

Roger Bonds says he spoke with one of Kim Porter’s “close friends” after her tragic death of lobar pneumonia in 2018. He recalled doing so during an interview with VladTV that has been causing all kinds of headlines in recent days. The former security guard for the Bad Boy mogul has been making numerous claims about Diddy and his relationship with Cassie.

Bonds explained that he wasn’t involved with Diddy directly at the time, but was “still in the mix” while working with Ciroc. He claims he spoke with one of Porter’s “closet friends” after her passing: “I just needed to know and I asked them, ‘What do you think?’ And this was one of Kim’s closest friends and she said, ‘Bonds, I would hate to think that he had something to do with it,’ she said.’” From there, he recalled the friend detailing the days leading up to her passing and a time she wore an IV in her arm at a party.

Bonds also denied the rumors that Porter was writing a “tell-all” book about the allegations against Diddy. Instead, he says a friend told him it was just a children’s book. “She didn’t like the way that Puff controlled her and the way he controlled the money he would give her for the kids. So, she wanted to make sure– her exact words were, ‘This motherf*cker not gonna run my kids like this. I want them to have they own money like Russell and his kids have.’ So, she was trying to build a foundation for them to have their own following.” He concluded by saying that he thinks Diddy truly loved Kim and doesn’t think he would’ve played a part in her death. However, he says in the wake of the latest allegations he can’t definitively say either way.
