Skepta Announced A New EP, ‘All In,’ Featuring Kid Cudi And J Balvin

Acclaimed British rapper and Grime legend Skepta just announced a new EP, and it includes some pretty big names on the tracklist. All In is the rapper’s first release since his 2019 full-length project Ignorance Is Bliss, and he shared the news on Instagram along with the album artwork. He also tagged the other artists that will be featured on the EP, which includes some big names like Kid Cudi — who just pulled off a comeback of his own with Man On The Moon III: The Chosen last year — and reggaeton star/noted McDonalds collaborator J Balvin.

Aside from the big names that American audiences are likely to recognize, Skepta also tapped Nigerian rapper Teezee, who is also the founder of the Lagos-based African culture magazine, Native Mag. Teezee appears on the track “Peace Of Mind” along with Kid Cudi, while Balvin holds down his own feature on a song called “Nirvana.” Check out the full tracklist below, the project drops this Friday on July 30th. Nothing else big happening that day like Billie Eilish dropping her hotly-anticipated new album Happier Than Ever or anything. Then again, their fanbases probably don’t overlap too much.

All In EP tracklist:
1. “Bellator”
2. “Peace Of Mind” (Featuring Kid Cudi and Teezee)
3. “Nirvana” (Featuring J Balvin)
4. “Lit Like This”
5. “Eyes On Me”

Snoop Dogg Gave An Update On His Mother’s Health Struggles: ‘She Still Fighting’

A few weeks ago Snoop Dogg asked fans and friends to send prayers to his mother, Beverly Tate, without sharing many other details. Now, he’s given the public an update on what’s going on with the beloved matriarch. “Happy Sunday me and my brothers went to c mama today and she opened up her eyes to c us and let us know she still fighting,” the rapper posted in an Instagram caption yesterday. “God is good💕🙏🏾 thanks for all the prayers 1 day at a time.”

The photo he posted along with the brief update showed Beverly in a hospital bed, and it looks like she might be intubated. Snoop hasn’t shared details on what she’s fighting or if her health issues are related to COVID-19, but his community is definitely showing their support in the comment sections. Fellow artists like Lizzo, Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah and Busta Rhymes all chimed in on the post, letting Snoop know that his mom is in their thoughts.

Tate has been struggling since May, when Snoop made a post asking for “all my prayer warriors for momma right now please and thank you,” and shared several photos of her from better times on his grid. Sending all good thoughts and hope for healing to Beverly as she continues to fight.

Bobby Shmurda Rates The Rappers He Met While Locked Up - Including A C.O. With Real Bars

It’s no secret to hip-hop fans that there are a lot of talented individuals locked up in prison. Many of our favorites, like Gucci Mane, Meek Mill, Offset, Tupac, and more have spent time behind bars — time they used to refine their rap skills so they can return with improved focus. One such rapper who has recently returned home from a lengthy bid is Bobby Shmurda, who was asked to comment on the quality of the rappers he encountered during his appearance on last night’s episode of Desus & Mero.

“What type of rappers were approaching you when you were locked up?” Desus asks. “Because I know people were coming with bars, people were coming with trash bars, you probably had people doing, ‘Mom’s spaghetti, mom’s spaghetti” — a reference to Eminem’s complicated intro to “Lose Yourself,” still the Rap God’s biggest hit nearly 20 years after its release.

“Funniest sh*t is when the C.O. [Correctional Officer] came up to me rapping,” Bobby replies, bursting into laughter. “But he had some sh*t. The next time is when I seen the cold people in there with talent. But what f*cked me up, is when I seen the cold people with talent and the number they got… I be feeling like, ‘Damn, bruh. You got too much talent to be in here locked up.’” He agrees with Desus and Mero that the encounters sobered him up to the reality that the same sentiment could be applied to himself, prompting him to change his mindset.

Elsewhere in the interview, the trio discusses how trying to eat healthy in prison is like a video game and demonstrates why some golf courses restrict certain demographics, in the words of Desus.

Someone Threw A ‘Busted Ass Adidas’ Shoe At DaBaby During His Rolling Loud Set

When DaBaby invited Tory Lanez onstage during his Rolling Loud set, it looks like fans didn’t only express their disapproval online. Apparently, someone in attendance was audacious enough to diss DaBaby in person in one of the most effective ways there is: By throwing a shoe at him during his set. Since the set was also being livestreamed, it was relatively easy to capture a clip of the unusual moment, as well as his nonplussed response.

During a lull between songs, the North Carolina rapper was commanding fans to light up their cell phones and hold them over their heads — the digital era equivalent to putting your lighters up — when he was suddenly forced to duck the flying footwear. After a timely dodge, he challenged, “Who the f*ck threw that busted ass Adidas?” Specificity is a cornerstone of comedy, so you’ve got to appreciate him for mentioning the brand name and making the moment especially amusing.

Admittedly, we don’t actually know why the shoe was sent spiraling his way but he’s spent a fair share of his career rubbing fans the wrong way, most recently during his Rolling Loud set itself. When the person inside his DaBaby mascot costume turned out to be Tory Lanez, who is under investigation for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, a rapper DaBaby has worked with multiple times, many fans were galled by the pettiness of the moment — especially as Tory’s appearance was sandwiched between “Cash Sh*t” and “Cry Baby,” two songs DaBaby recorded with Megan Thee Stallion. The two have mostly avoided each other since DaBaby co-signed the collaboration with Tory Lanez, which was supposedly shut down after the shooting.

Update: The culprit came forward a few hours later:

You can watch DaBaby’s reaction to the shoe shuriken above.

DaBaby Brought Out Tory Lanez At Rolling Loud And Megan Thee Stallion Fans Are Livid

It looks like the return of live shows has deepened the rift between former friends and collaborators DaBaby and Megan Thee Stallion rather than bringing them closer to reconciliation. Despite being booked just one set after Meg at this past weekend’s Rolling Loud festivities, DaBaby used the opportunity to reinforce his position, aligning himself closer to disgraced Canadian rapper Tory Lanez by bringing him out to perform their collaboration, “SKAT.”

This is, of course, after Megan Thee Stallion accused Tory of shooting her last summer after a Hollywood party. Since then, Tory has maintained his innocence — although he’s yet to offer a satisfactory alternative explanation in many fans’ eyes — and the two had settled into a chilly silence, which Lanez occasionally broke to offer more suggestions that he was “framed” and Megan is lying. However, the simmering feud threatened to boil over when Tory shared a snippet of his and DaBaby’s “SKAT” video in January.

That led to Megan’s fans condemning DaBaby for working with someone they see as her abuser, although Megan stepped in at the time to clarify that the song was recorded prior to her getting shot and that DaBaby had withdrawn his support for the song. But then, the video was finally released in June, prompting a very public falling out between the two former friends as DaBaby tried to claim neutrality and Megan expressed her feelings of betrayal.

DaBaby, ever the contrarian, appears to have doubled down by bringing out Tory to perform with him at Rolling Loud, which included a theatrical reveal from within a DaBaby mascot costume. Video of the reveal on social media sparked a similar response to the one in January, but it doesn’t seem likely that Megan will come to DaBaby’s defense this time.

Bryson Tiller Attempts To Pick Up The Pieces Of A Broken Heart On The Surprise Track ‘One Sided’

Five years elapsed in between Bryson Tiller’s sophomore album, True to Self, and his third, Anniversary. While the wait for the album was a long one, the singer gave fans several loose tracks over the years as quick treat, incliuding “Blame” and his remix of Drake’s “Finesse.” Now, as fans wait for his next body of work, Tiller returns with another quick track. Called “One Sided,” it’s a soulful track that sees him attempting to pick up the pieces of a broken heart.

The song is produced by 30Roc, Bass Charity, Hue Strother and DaBlackMic, and with lines like “If he swear you wanna be, I guess you deserve him” and “And you don’t need no stress from me, I guess / I should just leavе, I guess,” it’s clear Tiller is writing from the heart.

On a more recent note, Tiller appeared beside HER on “I Can Have It,” from the latter’s debut album, Back Of My Mind. He also teamed with DJ Khaled, Lil Baby, and Roddy Ricch in a video for “Body In Motion,” their collaboration from Khaled’s most recent project, Khaled Khaled.

Pop Smoke’s ‘Faith’ Debuts At No. 1 On The ‘Billboard’ Album Charts

A little over a year after the world received his posthumous debut album, Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon, Pop Smoke’s team regrouped to unveil another one, entitled Faith. It arrived earlier this month, with 20 songs and appearances from Kanye West, Pusha T, Rick Ross, The-Dream, 42 Dugg, 21 Savage, Dua Lipa, and many more. A week and a half after its release, Faith just became the second No. 1 album for the late musician.

The album debuted atop the Billboard 200 for the chart dated July 31. Faith achieved this by selling 88,000 total album units, with 83,000 of that being streaming equivalent album units, thanks to over 113 million on-demand streams of the album’s tracks. Pure albums sales contributed an additional 4,000 units to its first week numbers. Faith joins Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon as the No. 1 projects in Pop Smoke’s catalog, and it makes for his third album to enter the top 10 of the Billboard 200.

Faith debut atop the album charts comes days after a deluxe edition of the project was released. In total, four songs with guest appearances from G Herbo, OnPointLikeOP, Killa, Dread Woo, and Travi were added to the album.

Young Thug Said He’s ‘About’ To Put Out His New Album, ‘Punk,’ And Teases A New Song From It

Young Thug last released a solo album back in 2019. So Much Fun, the rapper’s debut album, became his most successful project, selling over 100,000 album units in the first week. At the time of its release, it seemed like he’d be back soon. He even said its follow-up would arrive a mere two months later. That never happened. But two years later, it seems like it may belatedly arrive.

During his performance at Miami’s Rolling Loud festival on Saturday, Young Thug an update on the long-awaited album. “Yo so listen,” Thug said onstage. “I’m about to put this album out, right? It’s called Punk. If I can perform something off of the album say hell yeah!” After taking in loud cheers from the crowd, the rapper went right into the new song, which he said is titled “Tik Tok.”

During a 2019 profile with Fader, during which Punk was first announced, Thug shared details about it. “It’s most definitely touching music,” he said. “It’s music that the world is going to embrace. […] [Punk] means brave, not self-centered, conscious. Very, very neglected, very misunderstood. Very patient, very authentic.” He also described the album as “real rap,” saying, “[Real rap is] letting people in, letting people know what you go through. Let them know that you the same. […] I just want to open up, Let people know that I’m not just a rapper, I’m a human being.”

Grimes Says Her Song ‘100% Tragedy’ Is About ‘Having To Defeat Azealia Banks When She Tried To Destroy My Life’

On Friday, Grimes brought her talents to Splendour XR, a music festival hailed as one of the most technologically advanced virtual showcases. She joined The Killers, Khalid, Charli XCX, Denzel Curry, and more. Grimes herself used her set to debut a new musical project called Grimes Metaverse, according to Billboard. She played her tentatively titled track “100% Tragedy,” which is currently still unreleased. In a chat with the Splendour XR music festival, the singer shared new details about the upcoming song.

In the chat, Grimes wrote that the song “is about having to defeat Azealia Banks when she tried to destroy my life.” This is in reference to a 2018 incident where Banks claimed she was at “Elon Musk’s house alone for days waiting for Grimes,” which fueled a lawsuit involving Tesla. A subpoena for Banks was proposed in order to have her testify against him involving claims of Musk fraudulently misleading investors.

Azealia Banks

Banks caught wind of Grimes’ comments shortly afterwards and responded on her Instagram page. “So you go make a bootleg @inna song about it. Yikes,” she wrote. “Grimes def has some psychosexual obsession with me. i think it’s bitterness cuz she doesn’t have the musical capacity i have. everything she does is out of pretentiousness and it comes out like that … while everything i do is out of natural swag & geniusness lmaoo.” She added, “Starting to notice all the weird undercover millennial racists hide out on discord.”

Kanye West Is Reportedly Crashing At Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium So He Can Finish ‘Donda’

Kanye West was supposed to release his tenth album Donda this past Friday. The rapper announced a huge listening event at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium stadium to premiere the project, then release it shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, the album was not officially released as promised, and Kanye later revealed that he’s still tinkering with it — which, it appears, he’s doing from the same stadium where it made its semi-premiere.

According to TMZ, Kanye essentially moved into the Atlanta stadium to put the finishing touches on Donda. The publication says that “sources with direct knowledge” tell them that he and his teamed have created a makeshift studio space and living quarters in the stadium. He’s even hired a chef to prepare meals for him and his team.

The news comes after Kanye took a brief break from working on the record to check out Atlanta United’s soccer game against Columbus Crew. He was spotted hanging with fans during the match as well as walking around the stadium with his team. It also seemed like he was wearing the same thing he wore during the listening event for Donda on Friday.

As for when Donda will arrive, social media personality Justin Laboy announced the project was reportedly delayed until August 6.
