Pooh Shiesty Was Sentenced To Five Years In Prison For Firearms Conspiracy

Pooh Shiesty, born Lontrell Donell Williams Jr., learned how long he’ll be behind bars today. Nearly a year after he was arrested on firearms charges, Shiesty was sentenced to 63 months — a little over five years — in prison according to Variety. It comes after he was indicted on four firearms charges in relation to a shooting incident that occurred in October 2020 at the Landon Hotel in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida. Williams later pled guilty to the charges after accepting a plea deal from prosecutors that reduced a possible life sentence to just 97 months in prison — a little over eight years in prison.

Shortly after Williams was arrested for the October 2020 incident, he was taken into custody once again, this time for a shooting incident that occurred at a Miami strip club during Memorial Day weekend. Variety reports that the outcome in that specific case is unknown at the moment. Williams’ plea deal in the October 2020 incident reduced his four firearms charges to just a single charge for conspiracy to possess a firearm in furtherance of violent and drug-trafficking crimes.

It’s unknown why Williams’ expected sentence of over eight years in prison was reduced to five years. Last month, it was reported that his lawyer was fighting the recommended eight-year sentence because “ballistics and forensic evidence” proved that Williams did not shoot the victim in the incident.

Bobby Shmurda Says Major Labels Are ‘Jumping’ And ‘Blackballing’ Him

At the end of last month, Bobby Shmurda shared a big announcement with his fans. He took to Instagram to reveal that he is officially an independent artist after parting ways with Epic Records where he’d been signed since 2014. “I just sign my release papers,” he wrote in the post. “Also jus made ah milly today I can’t wait to drop.” His exit came after he claimed in a prior Instagram post that he was not in control of his music. “I ain’t been in charge of my music since I was 19 years old and I just turned 27 and honestly idk when sh*t dropping,” he wrote. “So don’t ask me sh*t go ask them mf’s since they wanna control everything!!!!!!!”

It appears that Bobby hoped to secure a better deal with a major label with his newfound independence, but that has not been the case so far. Under a recent Instagram post, which he shared to promote his upcoming project They Don’t Know, Bobby took a moment to respond to a fan who thought he should delay the project from its April 29 release date. “Push it back and marker harder bro (js my opinion),” the fan wrote. In response, Bobby said, “@_frank_mathews_ and all my fans [cry and laughing emojis] nah F*** that I got major Lables jumping me Blackballing me and sh*ttttt and I’m from the hood young and rich black as sh*ttt and don’t give a [laughing emoji] about both and they Scare of me and I love that ishhh.”

Antonio Brown Drops His New Album ‘Paradigm,’ Featuring Young Thug, Fivio Foreign And DaBaby

While Antonio Brown won’t be catching any passes from NFL quarterbacks anytime soon, the wide receiver-turned-rapper just dropped a new album. The guest list for Brown’s (who performs under the AB moniker) album, Paradigm, is loaded and features not one, but two guest appearances from Brooklyn drill heavyweight Fivio Foreign.

Also appearing on the album, which features a heavy drill rap sound, are Young Thug, Keyshia Cole, 42 Dugg, French Montana, YdTheBest, Shuki Internatonal, and even DaBaby. AB and Kanye recently expressed interest in buying the Denver Broncos. The pair are also each slated to appear at the Rolling Loud Miami festival and now Brown will have a new album’s worth of songs to perform on stage.

Police Used A Battering Ram To Enter ASAP Rocky’s Home To Serve A Search Warrant

Paging Joe Biden. As was previously reported earlier today, ASAP Rocky was arrested at LAX airport in connection with a November shooting. Rocky was coming off of a plane with Rihanna returning from a trip to her native Barbados. But what happened at ASAP Rocky’s home shortly thereafter is raising just as many eyebrows.

LAPD officers used a full-on battering ram to try to get into the security gate of the rapper’s house. They had a search warrant for the property in connection with the case and TMZ secured some crude video of the incident, as well as photos of boxes filled with papers being carried out of ASAP Rocky’s home. In the footage, a group of at least a half dozen cops stands in front of the gate and one of them bangs at it with a battering ram three times. When the strategy doesn’t appear to be working, another cop tries to pry it with what might be a crowbar and falls backward onto the ground when he realizes that it’s a pull-to-open gate and it swings open. [cue the circus music]

This seems like a fairly over-the-top way to serve a search warrant when you know that the owner of the home is already in custody. But this wouldn’t be the first time that police used excessive measures when it comes to an alleged crime involving a rapper. The victim of the shooting claims that ASAP Rocky opened fire on him last November three or four times and grazed his hand in the process.

Megan Thee Stallion Poses Naked In A Bathtub To Announce ‘Plan B’

Ahead of her Coachella weekend one performance this past weekend, Megan Thee Stallion was itching to give fans a live preview of her new single before its release. “I got this song that I recorded and every time I play it for a woman they start jumping and clapping,” she tweeted. “I think I wanna perform it at Coachella for the first time before I actually drop it.”

She debuted the racy “Plan B” at the festival, with the lyrics “D*ck don’t run me, I run d*ck.” And now, the single art for the release is just as provocative. “Plan B out Friday, pre-save it now!” she tweeted. In the tweet, Megan included the single art of her lavishly lying naked in a bathtub, covered in soap foam and smoking a slim cigarette.

“Plan B” is the first track Megan Thee Stallion is releasing since her “Sweetest Pie” collaboration with Dua Lipa last month. It’s also her first solo single (not counting her Super Bowl song for Flaming Hot Cheetos) since “Thot Sh*t” came out last year and went on to be nominated for a Grammy award.

Megan Thee Stallion’s “Plan B” single is out on 04/22 via 300 Entertainment. Pre-order it here.

Dove Cameron Turned Lil Nas X’s ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’ Into A Shivery, Seductive Ballad

Wow, it sounds like 2022 is going to be the year of Dove Cameron. After she burst out of the gate back in February with the dramatic queer anthem “Boyfriend” and its accompanying steamy video, now the emerging pop star is back with a BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge performance for the books. Opting to cover Lil Nas X’s inescapable pop hit, “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” she starts the song off incredibly slow and shivery, taking it more into the realm of seductive ballad than rap-adjacent banger.

But, by the time she’s done with the first low and slow verse, Cameron brings the energy up a bit, backed by her drummer and guitarist, who have no problem turning up the heat. Dove performs the whole song seated on a stool, but her vocal chops are impressive enough that she keep the energy high and the attention focused on her even when she’s starting off slow. Check out the performance up top and keep an ear out for another new single from the young musician coming soon.

A few weeks ago, she teased the song “Breakfast” on TikTok, and it’s already close to four million streams. And based on the string of emojis in the pre-save link, “Breakfast” will likely be the next thing we hear from her, that is, unless she’s got some more incredible cover songs up her sleeve. Speaking of, if you want to catch a live version of “Boyfriend” check it out below.

Sensational Foods You Can Only Eat At Coachella

Over the next two weekends, glitter-bedecked scenesters from all over the world will flock to the Southern California desert for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Just like the music, the art, and many of the experiences between stages, the food is curated with the same keen eye for top-caliber talent and unforgettable productions.

With three days each weekend and three meals each day, that leaves (*back of the envelope calculation*)… nine meals to make the most of the experience. 18 if you’re going for both weekends. The problem? There are more than 50 food purveyors, making figuring out what to eat as challenging as deciding between two of your favorite musicians performing at the same time.

Fortunately, many of these culinary delights can be found in restaurants outside the festival. But what about those ephemeral options that can only be enjoyed during the event? These are true once-in-a-lifetime tastes. We can’t live your life for you, but we can do our best to break down eight Coachella food offerings that you won’t want to miss.

That ninth one? That’s your freebie. Roll the dice on something and report back to us.

Sushi by Scratch
Easily the most talked about food offering this year is Chef Phillip Frankland Lee’s 17-course sushi meal served in an Omakase speakeasy, hidden behind an unmarked door. Planned as a new spin on the traditional sushi counter experience, there are a mere 12 seats for each serving, to enhance the intimacy of the experience. Dinner will set you back $375 plus fees, but the memory of this meal will probably live on in your dreams forever.

Outstanding In The Field
For a laid-back, family-style four-course meal along a 275-person long table, head to Outstanding in the Field. Here, 11 of the top chefs in the world will converge for a different dining experience each evening. Chefs Ayinde and Makini Howell, will host a fully plant-based meal. Chef Burt Bakman (SLAB) and Chef Eric Greenspan will be hosting a Passover Seder. Each dinner celebrates local farmers, and the backdrop of Coachella’s VIP Rose Garden will make the occasion that much more special. Rates are $295 plus fees.

Lay’s Fresh 4D
Lay’s, the potato chip company, is joining the party too. This year they’re unveiling a mysterious, reservation-only “Fresh 4D” tasting, which promises 100% sustainably-sourced potatoes from farm to face in under 24-hours. Under a structure they’ve described as “Potadomes” in a press release, it’ll be a multi-sensory snacking experience complete with “three elevated bites that are an ode to the familiar Lay’s flavors consumers know and love.”

Broad Street Oyster Co
If lobster rolls are your religion, the Broad Street Oyster Co pop-up at Coachella is going to be church. This year guests of this reservation-only experience can look forward to burgers, shellfish, anchovy toast, shrimp galore, lobster, and a heavenly round of everyone’s favorite sea-born aphrodisiac, the eponymous oyster. The multi-course meal otherwise top caliber seafood experience.

KazuNori
Thanks to a world-class team up between The Sushi Nozawa Group and California’s renowned sushi restaurant Razorfish, sushi is affordable and accessible again at Coachella. Try it at the Rose Garden with your VIP wristband. Their signature “hand rolled bar” combines convenience and decadence with a fancy-made-casual flair. Plus, you can eat it with your hands!

Umami Burger with Alvin Cailan
Californian’s know Umami, but there’s almost nowhere else to get a chance to be served by the dynamic and beloved Alvin Cailan. Known for his exceptional Filipino food, Cailan has served the likes of Seth Rogen and Padma Lakshmi. He’s also celebrated for founding the now hailed breakfast spot, EggSlut in Los Angeles. Now that he’s teamed up with Umami, leaving it off your must-do list would be a faux pas for any self-respecting foodie.

Salt & Straw
Surprisingly owned in part by pro wrestler and actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Salt & Straw is famous for their “curiously delicious” ice cream shops. This year, Wunderground Coffee teamed up with Salt & Straw to take the science of ice cream even further. They’re slated to serve a totally different adaptogenic ice cream flavor for each day of the festival! Miss a day and you may never have the chance to try that flavor again.

Love Hour
In a rare partnership with six artists from the music lineup, popular Smash Burger icon Love Hour will be serving up collaborative (and secret) items. Artists like Louis the Child, Carly Rae Jepson, Eyedress, Omar Apollo, and more all weighed in to make these unique flavors sing. Each artists’ burger is available for one day only though, so get ‘em while you can.

Bhad Bhabie Says She’s Made Over $50 Million From OnlyFans And Is Sick Of ‘Cash Me Outside’ Jokes

From a viral sensation on Dr. Phil to a platinum-selling rapper to a straight-up star on OnlyFans. This is the Bhad Bhabie experience. In a recent Instagram Live video, Bhad Bhabie (whose real name is Danielle Bregoli) spoke candidly mainly about why she’s sick of being referred to as “the cash me outside girl.” And in the process, revealed a lot about how much money she’s made on OnlyFans.

“We don’t call people in the real world… celebrities, our family members…we don’t call them oh, ‘the girl who spilled the milk,’ or whatever,” she said in the video in between puffs from her vape pen. “We call them by their real name… So you call them by how you found out about them? Why does that only happen with me?”

The seven-minute diatribe went on, and while she was clearly peeved, there was never a moment where she lost control. This was just airing out grievances and it was actually a fairly decent commentary on celebrity internet culture.”It’s like y’all have to degrade who I am? If there is a way that you could put me down in a tiny way or a huge way, y’all will find a way to do it. I’m not saying it’s the end of the world, but you know it’s being ignorant.”

Then, as she offers alternatives to what she could be referred to instead, she spewed out an alarming figure: “Call me the youngest female artist to go platinum… call me some sh*t like that… the girl who got a million-dollar make-up deal, the girl who made over f*cking $50 million on OnlyFans… When you try to find a way to be annoying about something, it’s just kinda weird.”

Tekashi 69 Says He Was Flexing With Fake Cash In Recent Videos After Receiving Several Lawsuits

Controversy magnet Tekashi 69 claims he’s been flexing with fake cash after receiving several lawsuits over missed shows and late payments. He’s currently on the hook for a handful of cases, including one for his involvement in a 2018 robbery, two for skipping on shows after being paid upfront, and one for an unpaid bill to his former security company. All told, he’s in a bad way — or at least, that’s what he wants the courts to think, telling a judge he’s “struggling to make ends meet” and may declare bankruptcy.

This is why it was odd to see him on his social media flexing stacks of cash as he strutted in his driveway in a video on Instagram, boasting, “This is really my lifestyle.” He also flashed armloads of jewelry and a fleet of sports cars.

However, on Monday, he seemed to have a completely different attitude during an appearance on TMZ Live. When asked about $1 million in restitution he owes in the robbery case, he replied, “I ain’t got it right now. I ain’t got it. And that was prop money. I ain’t got it.” He explained the video by noting, “I’m an entertainer and obviously, we talking about it, so I did a pretty good job at entertaining people… You know how you have a degree in law? I have a degree in entertainment.”

Be that as it may, he’ll need to find a way to turn that prop cash into the real thing if he wants to stay ahead of the repo man. Otherwise, he could end up in worse straits than the ones he found himself in when he was arrested for racketeering at the height of his success.

Zack Fox Isn’t Giving Up At Rap

Zack Fox doesn’t give up – except when it involves Elden Ring. And that’s why he’s one of rap’s most exciting new lyricists, even if he’s hesitant to consider himself a contender for rap’s throne.

But more on that later. Back to Elden Ring — the notoriously difficult role-playing game that’s become the best-selling release of 2022 since it dropped in February. Playing the part of a banished person that’s coming back to become a king, gamers around the world have been getting their asses kicked at every turn by the RPG’s many bosses.

Fox is one of those players who, up until a few weeks ago, was tweeting about the progress that he was making in the game. Once he made it to its first boss, Margit, the Fell Omen, he shared a video of him getting pulverized. When I ask him about it over a phone call, he first sighs, then reveals a decidedly un-Zack Fox-like philosophy.

“Sometimes, it’s about quitting,” he says with a genuine, sheepish laugh. “Shouts out to the n****s who built like that. It ain’t me. I play Animal Crossing, f*cking Katamari Dynasty, and Pokemon. I had no business and that’s totally on me. I’ll take that L.”

As far as stories go, Fox’s is one of perseverance — and genuinely being the funniest person in the room. The 31-year-old, Atlanta-born comedian found an early Twitter audience for his unique brand of deadpan-through-tweets jokes under the alias of “Bootymath” back in 2013 and, years later, joined the Father-led and Playboi Carti-featuring collective, Awful Records, where he often contributed a unique brand of illustrations to its projects.

As his popularity grew through both his tweets and other projects like stand-up comedy and the Bruh podcast for Red Bull Radio, Fox made the jump to music in 2018 with the release of “Square Up” with producer Kenny Beats. The track, which sounds like it’s about to steal your lunch money, is built around Fox’s unique humor through ridiculously funny punchlines. It immediately found favor with fans of his jokes as well as, surprisingly, fans of rap. While its release may have seemed like a spur-of-the-moment drop with a rising producer, Fox says now that it was an organic step into the next phase of his “creative wheelhouse.”

“I think [rap] has always been right there, on the table,’ he says. “I grew up basically with musicians, and I was a part of Awful, and being in proximity to it for so long, music never felt like a drastic departure from anything else. It was time to step out into that creative wheelhouse of what I’m building.”

Fox’s decision to keep going musically didn’t just stem from fans who showered him with praise, admitting that he “hates everything after I put it out.” Instead, it came from some of his favorite artists. “Seeing Lil Jon and Mike Will Made IT [give their approval]made me push further because it gave me a little boost due to the fact that some of my heroes were taking notice of it,” says Fox. “I wanted to just dig further into it.”

The following year, Fox broke through the mainstream when he appeared on Kenny Beats’ freestyle series The Cave in which the producer invites artists to his studio to rap on the spot. In an episode where Fox pulls up to have fun, the two hopped into the booth and gave birth to “Jesus Is The One (I Got Depression).”

What can be said about “Jesus Is The One (I Got Depression)” that would make sense from a strictly descriptive sense? It’s “What The F*ck” flavored ice cream, sprinkled with bits of truth that make it a delicate dance between absurdity and a breathing diary. Fox does everything on the track from drinking his own semen, crashing into white-owned businesses, and making the claim that his show was canceled because “white folks don’t trust me” (he’s probably referring to Vice Live, which aired for two months in 2019 before being discontinued). He rants and screams, but it never delves into ridiculous territory. It’s an intoxicating listen — one that shot to the top of Spotify’s Viral chart soon after its release.

Hearing the track leads the listener to ask one thing: how the hell does he record something like that with a straight face? There has to be a writer’s room in the same way that Jimmy Kimmel and other late-night hosts develop content to air on a daily basis. But, it’s actually quite the opposite. Fox doesn’t even really believe in getting to the studio, instead describing what he does as being “just a n**** with back pain in his house talking about germs.”

“When I’m with my guys Jak and Alex, we throw basketballs at each other in the studio,” he says. “Music is like drawing and doodling, and that’s like a big thing that I’m into. I treat both the same by sitting at a desk because I don’t really need to be in a studio with n****s ashing out backwoods on me.”

Fox’s approach can be heard across his debut album, Shut The F*ck Up Talking To Me, released in 2021. It’s a battalion of punchlines, insults, and missiles in the shape of dick jokes. It’s not made for critics — just the fervent fanbase that devours his jokes like the first meal after a day of fasting. “I was a poor-ass kid who had all this time to be imaginative, f*ck around, draw, and make beats on my mom’s furniture and be silly as a kid so I don’t try to force myself out of that now,” he says about the LP. “I’m a big-ass kid.”

Now, it’s 2022. With Fox’s debut album firmly in the rearview mirror, the world’s getting that itch for new music from Fox now that he’s firmly in the running for rap’s throne. Except, that’s just the thing — he firmly makes it clear that he’s not purposely running for anything. “I don’t put out music to be a contender,” he says. “I’m not making music to get anything out of it aside from this just being fun to me.” Besides, he’s been plenty busy with other aspects of his multifaceted career, including his recurring appearance on Quinta Brunson’s sensational sitcom Abbott Elementary, and writing on the Peacock original comedy Bust Down.

With that being said, there’s hope for the future for Fox’s 2022, he’s just not putting a timetable on when something else is coming. “I have no idea when I’m dropping a new project,” he says. “I’m always working on stuff, but I’m never going to burden myself by saying ‘this is the time when you’ll get this.’ I think it’s important for artists to go into their dungeon and then when I’m ready to drop something, I’m just going to put it out.”

While he’s locked in the dungeon, Fox is being inspired by classic shows like Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, and Ren And Stimpy for his music. “I’m making songs from the perspective of a cartoon character, but also just being myself and finding the balance between those things,” he says. “I like to make sh*t that’s kind of silly, but I also want to be able to listen to it in the car for long-ass drives.”

Judging by his own checklist for good music, Fox has found success in his musical endeavors and will continue to do so. And when he thinks about his younger self and his goals, it looks like everything’s going according to plan. Well, almost.

“I didn’t succeed with having sex with Vanessa Williams like I wanted to when I was a kid,” Fox admits. “But I think that the other stuff, especially the music, is working out really well.”
