DD Osama Confronts N3on For Disrespecting His Deceased Brother

N3on is a pretty popular and controversial name in the streaming world, recently getting unbanned from Kick after his apology to an underage fan he threatened. But that’s not all that he’s had to answer for as of late, as he was also confronted by rapper DD Osama. The interaction appeared live on the social media personality’s stream, in which Osama traveled with his entourage as well. He confronted the content creator for disrespecting his dead brother, which he did by dancing to the Kyle Richh song “Notti Bop.” It’s overall a pretty ugly and sensitive topic, but one that he still took lightly, and that Notti’s brother didn’t appreciate.

Not only did N3on disrespect Notti, but also DD Osama himself by calling him a transphobic slur and telling him to “suck his d**k.” During their confrontation, the “Baby Wait” MC told the streamer that he doesn’t know the streets that Osama is from, and that he’s just a “nerd.” However, it wasn’t a particularly hostile or combative approach, as N3on wanted to offer his sincere apologies and Osama wanted to make him understand why he was wrong and put him in his place. It could’ve been much worse.

N3on Confronted By DD OSama For Disrespecting Notti

For those unaware with DD Osama, he’s been making waves in the Harlem drill scene and the wider culture of New York hip-hop for a couple of years now. Last year, he had some high-profile collaborations such as the Coi Leray-assisted “Upnow” and the recent Luh Tyler collab “Pup.” As for N3on, he’s been in a lot of drama and controversy for a while, but his profile and viewership remains quite large. If anything, a situation like this is the type of thing that only works in his favor, at least from a popularity perspective.

After all, the streamer has spoken with Antonio Brown and is in beefs or disagreements with plenty of other creators. Overall, hopefully he can learn that he got pretty lucky in this case, and that such disrespect could come back to haunt him. We’ll see whether this is a quick learning process. Nicki Minaj’s Rolling Loud Headlining Set Brought Plenty Of Frosting But Forgot The Cake

Last year, Nicki Minaj made a pretty triumphant return with Pink Friday 2, her first new album in 5 years. The record came on the back of numerous hit singles, most notably the smash hit “Super Freaky Girl.” It also spawned some new beloved hits of its own like “FTCU” and “Everybody.” Unsurprisingly, she followed it up with a tour announcement on the back of the record. But far from just a celebration of Pink Friday 2, the resulting tour has turned out to be a career-long victory lap for one of rap’s premiere hitmakers.

In a similar fashion to mega-tours in 2023 like the Eras and Renaissance tours, Nicki delivered visuals, set pieces, outfits, and set lists that span her entire 15 years of hitmaking. The potential for her to unpack nearly any song she’s ever recorded clicks perfectly with her rabidly devoted fanbase of Barbz. The pink-clad stan army fundamentally change anywhere they arrive in bulk and Rolling Loud was no different. One main stage act after another during the festival’s Friday schedule couldn’t help but notice the seas of pink overtaking the grounds. All of the built and built into a fevered anticipation for Nicki herself to take the stage. While she delivered all of the bells and whistles fans could hope for, it was delivered in an impersonal and over-rehearsed package that felt far more concerned with seeming grand and elaborate than actually putting on a dynamic performance.

Rolling Loud Los Angeles was officially the 6th stop on the Pink Friday 2 tour. The set got underway 40 minutes late, though that was the case throughout the weekend-long festival and didn’t necessarily have much to do with Nicki. But she did give fans lucky enough to have cellphone service a QR code to explore her Gag City website while they waited. When it was finally time for her to take the stage, she was preceded by a flashy introduction video. The clip features an animated Nicki in the image of her Chun-Li character gearing up to take the stage.

Videos like that one were played repeatedly throughout the performance. Alongside the numerous shifting stage elements, that meant there was quite a substantial portion of the show where Nicki was entirely absent. In fact, multiple entire songs from the set were played while she was nowhere to be found on stage. The combination of constantly shifting set design and repeated outfit changes gave the impression that they were condensing an entire concert into the compacted festival timeline. While the elaborate presentation was larger than life, it came at the expense of some of the intimacy that makes live music so great in the first place.

Nicki Bounces Between Eras

The jittery pace of the show had a lot to do with the ever-changing design of the set. Nicki brought with her numerous props that helped accentuate her various characters. As she jumped between different eras backup dancers wheeled her on stage in boxes labeled “Chun-Li,” “Barbie,” and “Roman.” Those almost always came with outfit changes. While the looks are often the biggest part of a tour of this caliber, the shortened time span meant that a substantial chunk of her time was spent off-stage changing clothes.

If the recapping sounds repetitive, that’s how it felt. Watching Nicki elaborately redesign the entire stage amid a lengthy outfit change was exciting at first. But as she continued to only unpack shortened versions of one or two songs before redesigning everything again, it lost its shine. It was only after she blew through one era after another that the show finally shed its theatrics and opened up the opportunity for Nicki to be the forceful entertainer she’s always been capable of.

Nicki Minaj Finally Hits Her Stride

Across the final run of songs the show finally slowed down, took a breath, and lived up to everything it was capable of. Shockingly, it took this long into the show for Nicki to address the crowd at all. In fact, it was the first time she actually said anything between songs when she asked the crowd to applaud for themselves. In the lead-up to her sentimental classic “Moment 4 Life,” she gave a speech to the audience about living in the moment and seeking out happiness every day.

For her second to last song, she gave the Barbz in attendance an incredible treat. During a New Year’s performance a few months ago Nicki passed on performing her smash hit “Starships.” She later claimed that she doesn’t perform the song anymore, something that disappointed fans craving to hear it live. That made her surprise performance of the song one of the most special moments of the entire Rolling Loud weekend. Punctuating it by crushing her go-to closer for every tour stop so far “Everybody” ended the set on a massive bright spot despite its frantic start.

Nicki Minaj is a once-in-a-generation performer who has withstood one controversy after another for decades. In moments during her Rolling Loud Headlining Set, she showed exactly why. With bright, fiery, intense performances and a back catalog that can go toe to toe with anybody, Nicki is still an iconoclast. But under the pressure to deliver the grandest moment possible, she turned in a performance that paid more attention to elaborate theatrics than the powerful voice at the center of it all.

Future & Metro Boomin’s ‘We Don’t Trust You’: Everything To Know, Including The Release Date, Tracklist & More

It’s finally time; one of the most-anticipated hip-hop albums of 2024 (and technically, of 2023) is finally set to arrive. Well, half of it, anyway. Future and Metro Boomin first teased their joint project, We Don’t Trust You, back in January 2023, calling it the “album of the year” despite not yet even having a release date. Metro continued teasing the project that summer but still had no idea when it would come out by October.

Metro called the album his “top focus” in October, but it still missed the window for being the best album of 2023 — so it looks like they’ll just have to settle for having the best album of 2024. Except that earlier this month, when they finally revealed its release date, it turned out that they’d wound up making two albums. The first of which will be We Don’t Trust You, a reference to Metro’s producer tag (one of them, anyway) in which Future declares, “If young Metro don’t trust you, we gon’ shoot you.”

Here’s everything to know about Future and Metro Boomin’s joint album We Don’t Trust You.

Release Date

We Don’t Trust You is due on March 22 through Boominati, Freebandz, and Republic.

Tracklist

Future and Metro Boomin have yet to reveal their tracklist.

Singles

There have been no official singles released from the upcoming album, but they did debut a few of the new songs during their headlining set at Rolling Loud California this past weekend. Check it out below.

Features

Metro said there would be no features on the album… but it doesn’t look like that’s entirely true. He later notified fans that Playboi Carti would appear on a song called “Type Sh*t.” Meanwhile, during their Rolling Loud set, Travis Scott appeared on two previously unheard songs.

Artwork

No official artwork has yet been revealed.

Tour

No tour has been announced as of press time (Monday, March 18 10:00am PT) but it seems likely that either or both will tour for the album — most likely, an announcement would come after the second album releases on April 12.

Megan Thee Stallion, Gunna, And PartyNextDoor Will Headline The 2024 Broccoli City Festival

As we barrel closer to April, festival season truly is just around the corner. Now folks in the Washington DC area have something concrete to look forward to: Today (March 18), Broccoli City announced its 2024 lineup.

The fest, which goes down at Audi Field from July 27 to 28, is led by Megan Thee Stallion, Gunna, and PartyNextDoor. Also on the poster are Lil Yachty, The Concrete Family, Kaytranada, Victoria Monét, Key Glock, Sexyy Red, Teezo Touchdown, Fridayy, Veeze, Amaarae, Jordan Ward, Skilla Baby, Baby Tate, Tyan Trey, and Chlothegod.

Aside from the core music artists, there’s also a set of other experiences to enjoy, like Trapsoul Karaoke hosted by Bryson Tiller, Coco Butter with Uncle Waffles, Test Your Game with Duke Dennis, and more.

As for tickets, there’s a pre-sale live now, which you can access with the code “EATGOOD24.” All-in ticket prices (meaning no addition fees) currently start at $225. More information about tickets is available on the Broccoli City website.

Uproxx’s Wongo Okon was at least year’s fest and he said of the event (in which weather was a factor), “Broccoli City Festival was a hectic weekend, but in the end, it was a satisfying showcase. Strong performances from Asake, Rema, Ice Spice, Brent Faiyaz, Chloe Bailey, Coco Jones, and others made it all worthwhile — especially when the dastardly sun set for the day or was at least covered by clouds. Some improvements are definitely in store for the next edition of the festival, but the highs and lows of Broccoli City shouldn’t deter you from checking out their next showcase, especially if the necessary changes are made.”

Are Saweetie And YG Back Together?

Earlier this year, The Shade Room reported that Saweetie and YG had ended their relationship after dating since at least May of last year.

And this is why you don’t listen to The Shade Room, or any of those Instagram gossip accounts, really. I have harped on the subject of reliable sources for months and months and stuff like this is why.

During YG and Tyga’s set at Rolling Loud California this past weekend, YG brought Saweetie onstage, where they got cozy and exchanged declarations of love.

The two West Coast rappers were rumored to be dating after collaborating together on multiple songs. Then, in May 2023, they were spotted taking a romantic vacation in Cabo. Since then, they’ve been seemingly inseparable, teaming up with Tyga for the Str8 To The Club tour last autumn and collaborating again on Saweetie’s summer single “Birthday” (again with Tyga).

Saweetie has been more actively promoting her solo music this year, releasing the single “Richtivities” and collaborating with fellow Bay Area native P-Lo for the 49ers playoff anthem “Do It For The Bay.” It certainly sounds like she’s rebooting her album rollout, which could mean that her long-awaited debut project is on the way.

Saweetie is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Another joked: “There goes Houston winning streak it’s gone now.” The other teams to earn No. 1 seeds in the tournament were UConn, Purdue, and North Carolina. While UConn won the Big East Tournament, the remaining three No. 1 seeds all lost in the semifinals or finals of their respective conference tournaments.

Cardi B’s major-label debut single, “Bodak Yellow,” has become the most-watched rap video from a solo female artist on YouTube. As of March 18, it officially has over 1.1 billion views on the platform. But, I don’t [make] music like that,” she explained. “I sound kinda stupid trying to sing like that. I sound stupid trying to make music like that. So, if I ever get that perfect record, I can not wait until I feel like, ‘This song…I know she’s going to like it.’ I don’t want to send her nothing like, ‘Ho, what the f*ck is this sh*t? Why Did Kanye West Diss Kai Cenat?

kanye west
Getty Image

Kai Cenat may be the favorite streamer of many of rap’s biggest names like Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Killer Mike, but one hip-hop star is apparently less fond of the 22-year-old YouTuber.

Kanye West lashed out at Cenat after sending the streamer a pair of his YZY brand pants in the wrong size. Cenat demonstrated their poor fit during one of his streams, which incensed the multihyphenate musician-designer. Kanye shared a DM exchange via Instagram in which Ye told the younger entertainer, “Don’t make jokes about my clothes. When you ain’t saying nothing about what Adidas is doing. When “Vultures” song came out you ain’t play my verse. You controlled. Don’t play with me.”

As a quick reminder: What “Adidas is doing” is continuing to release its massive backstock of Yeezy apparel and footwear after Kanye’s antisemitic comments forced the company to end their endorsement deal prematurely, as is the company’s right (of all the things I’m angry at Kanye about, forcing me to defend a multibillion dollar athletics conglomerate is close to the top of the list). Oh, and they’re suing him for pretty much stealing the marketing budget for other Yeezy endeavors after terrorizing employees with his own sex tapes.

After this exchange, though, Kanye’s longtime manager John Monopoly threatened Kai, writing, “We good… But if we ever need to link up for a face to face I’ll meet him in HIS hood. Just me plus one.” Which seems like a really mature and professional way to do business, but this is the outfit that publicly announced firing an influencer of questionable utility while employing a known racist troll in a high-level position.

I am once again requesting a year-long moratorium on these people’s collective internet access, at least until we can confirm that children can read and write again and democracy is not going to topple off a cliff into a boiling sea. Panem et circenses, indeed.

Kanye West Says He Is Suing YesJulz For Over $8 Million For Breaking Her Contract

kanye west

The dispute between Kanye West and former contracter Julieanna Goddard — aka YesJulz — is apparently escalating, as the producer shared the text of an alleged lawsuit on Sunday (March 17) on his Instagram Story. According to XXL, which captured a screenshot of the Story post before Kanye deleted it, the text of the suit reads:

Julianne Goddard has repeatedly, intentionally and grossly violated the terms of her Non-Disclosure Agreement with complainants including publicly disclosing corporate sales figures, social media strategies, text messages with Ye and management, release plans for the Vultures album and product designs before release. To say Goddard suffers from a lack of impulse control would be to excuse her from responsibility for behavior that is hurtful, hateful, and destructive.

I….

Well, I am just gobsmacked. It certainly sounds like someone we all know. I wonder if Kanye’s house has ANY mirrors in it, at all.

West seeks restitution “in excess of $8,000,000” which… somehow… it seems unlikely he’s ever going to see. Goddard did dare West and his “chief of staff” Milo Yiannopoulos to sue her in her response to being fired from the Yeezy brand, but considering Ye’s established pattern of grand announcements and haphazard follow-through (see: the aforementioned Vultures rollout, Ye’s 2020 presidential campaign), Goddard probably isn’t in very much danger of having to pay a dime.

For what it’s worth, Kanye only posted this text to his Instagram Story with no comment, so it’s possible he hasn’t even filed the suit yet (after all, court’s closed on Sunday). Uproxx was unable to independently confirm that any such document was submitted through LA Superior Court systems, but considering it can often take a while to get docs digitized, that’s no evidence that it wasn’t filed. We’ll just have to wait and see if Julz responds — and how.

YBN Nahmir Denies Scamming Fan For $200 After Adin Ross Pressure

YBN Nahmir is clapping back at any and all detractors online, and is now dealing with some scamming accusations from a fan. Moreover, an up-and-coming artist leaked alleged DMs with him claiming that he paid $200 for him to promote him and their collab on social media. “I get it bro,” the rapper allegedly began his reply to the fan’s qualms before allegedly ghosting him altogether. “You know the thing with me is bro I’ll be agreeing to s**t but it’s just too low at the same time. Like I feel like it’s cool for me to post it on like my Snapchat story for the 200 you feel me? Feel like for my actual [story] it should be more like 500 do you feel me on Instagram? You feel me though, bro.”

“$200 is crazy lol,” YBN Nahmir expressed on Twitter shortly after the artist’s posts on the matter went viral, seemingly downplaying the interaction. “I don’t even know what that is & tbh I never even check my IG dm’s. I have a team lol. Tired of n***as lying on my name u h* a** n***a,” he continued while adding alleged screenshots of IG DMs between the two.

“Firs the n***as bought an open off of me which I sent him & cleared it for em,” YBN Nahmir continued. “Than the n***a start having a fake conversation with himself believing he actually sent 200 n***a u ain’t sent s**t. I never even answered u anymore. u was asking for s**t for low a** prices I wasn’t finna do it. Stop the [cap emoji] n***a weird a** hell if I was gonn scam u why tf I wouldn’t have done it before I gave u a song cleared it and all that lame a** b***h.” “N***a’s that never paid me lying on my name tryna get clout,” he shared on his IG Story.

Of course, this is a bit ironic considering the Alabama MC’s recent scuffle with Adin Ross. He wanted to box the media personality for $100K, but Ross turned it down and said that he’s not worth his time. We’ll see whether another situation pops up in which YBN Nahmir will either refuse payment to prove a point or put money on the line to fulfill his goals… however odd they may be. Regardless, log back into HNHH for more news and the latest updates on him.
