Offset Hosts Second Annual Toyz 4 The Nawf Christmas Giveaway Event

For those that say the holiday season is all about giving back, Offset’s got you covered. The former Migos rapper has always loved giving back to his community and the holiday season is no different. Last year, he teamed up with the Ann Cephus Family Fund to give back to those in need around Atlanta during the holidays. They gave away toys and clothes while also getting families help setting up affordable internet service. The event was such a big success that they had another even bigger one this year.

The second Toyz 4 The Nawf took place over the weekend and managed to give back to even more families this year. “I want to thank you guys for supporting me on the second year of Toyz 4 the Nawf that I’m doing,” Offset said in an interview at the event. “I’m giving back to my community. I’m trying to inspire the youth and show them that your dreams can come true. And then when you’re blessed, you bless other people.” Check out a video he posted covering the event below.

Offset’s Christmas Giveaway Event

Earlier this year, Offset released his first new album in 4 years Set It Off. The project had some impressive first-week sales numbers which led to it debuting in the top 5 of the Billboard 200. It also had an impressive feature list sporting appearances from Cardi B, Travis Scott, Latto, Future, Don Toliver, Chloe, Young Nudy, and Mango Foo.

While the album as a whole received slightly mixed reviews, fans were very excited about a few songs in particular. “SAY MY GRACE” with Travis Scott and “WORTH IT” with Don Toliver became two of the biggest hits from the album and landed on the Hot 100 in the week following its release. They joined “JEALOUSY,” the Cardi B collab that served as the album’s lead single. What do you think of Offset’s second Toyz 4 The Nawf event? Let us know in the comment section below.

Former Grammys CEO Mike Greene Faces A Sexual Assault Lawsuit From A Woman Who Says He Also Threatened Her

As more music moguls face recriminations regarding their alleged sexual misconduct, one more has been added to the list. Former Grammys CEO Mike Greene has been accused of sexual assault by a former Recording Academy executive in a lawsuit against both Greene and the Academy, according to Rolling Stone.

In the 55-page suit, the former Recording Academy’s Los Angeles chapter executive director, Terri McIntyre, says Greene sexually harassed and assaulted her over the two-year period she held the position (1994-1996). She also alleges that The Recording Academy was negligent in handling her complaints against him and even helped cover them up. Greene stepped down in 2002 after being accused of separate incidents sexual misconduct.

Greene was notable for establishing the Latin Recording Academy and Latin Grammys during his tenure as CEO, which lasted from the late ’80s to 2002. After he stepped down, the Academy cleared him of wrongdoing and paid him nearly $8 million in severance.

In response to Rolling Stone‘s request for a comment, a Recording Academy rep said, “In light of pending litigation, the Academy declines to comment on these allegations, which occurred nearly 30 years ago. Today’s Recording Academy has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to sexual misconduct and we will remain steadfast in that commitment.”

McIntyre claims that she was drugged and raped by Greene in 1994. She says she never reported the incident out of fear of retaliation; in spite of this, she says Greene continued to harrass her, grope her, and sexually assaulted her again at his home sometime later. More details can be read in Rolling Stone‘s report.

McIntyre’s complaint is the second suit against a former Grammys executive in the past month. In November, an anonymous accuser sued Neil Portnow — who served as Greene’s successor from 2002 to 2019 — also drugged and raped her in 2019. It’s the second accusation against Portnow since 2020.

Jadakiss’ Son Jaewon Shares “Put Ya Hands Up” Freestyle

During a recent appearance on the My Train Of Thoughts podcast, Jadakissson Jaewon showed off his rapping skills. He spit bars over his dad’s 2001 Kiss tha Game Goodbye track, “Put Ya Hands Up.” Clearly, he’s picked up a few things from his father.

The podcast shared a clip of the 26-year-old’s freestyle on Instagram, getting fans’ attention. Countless commenters note how he appears to have taken after his dad, comparing their flows. Others are demanding that Jaewon drop more music of his own in the near future. “Well the apple don’t fall too far from the tree does it?!” one fan writes. Another says, “You could tell Jada really raised that boy.”

Jaewon Phillips Shows Off His Rapping Skills

Luckily, based on his Instagram, Jaewon is already in the process of working on some new music. Earlier this week, he shared a photo of himself in the studio. “It’s all coming together… like I said it would. Just how I imagined it,” he captioned the post. While things are good for Jaewon lately, his father looks to be wrapping up his year with some drama. Recently, he put The Nomad on blast for alleged racial profiling. According to him, he was spending some serious cash at the Las Vegas casino when they kicked him out without any explanation.

“Don’t ever gamble at The Nomad ever again!” he told fans. “Last Usher show is tomorrow, I don’t know what happened. I’ve been gambling in here since Wednesday, I’m a tax-paying citizen. I’ve been losing my shirt, socks, everything! They coming to me at the end of the night talking about, ‘I need your…’ I didn’t lose that much, and I didn’t win nothing! Is this racial profiling? I’m out of here, I’m never coming back. And I’m a millionaire.” What do you think of Jadakiss’ son Jaewon rapping over his song? How do you think he did? Do you want more music from Jaewon? Styles P Recalls DMX Dissing Ja Rule On “We Don’t Give A F*ck”

Styles P says that DMX was dissing Ja Rule in the lyrics to his 1998 track, “We Don’t Give A F*ck,” on which he and Jadakiss are featured. Styles reflected on the collaboration during an interview on The Breakfast Club alongside his The LOX partner, Sheek Louch, earlier this week.

“The song was about Ja,” Styles told Charlamagne Tha God during the show. “You didn’t know that? X and Ja having beef. They was dogs. He’s in it, I’m in it with him. Y’all had to know that! Listen to the lyrics!” DMX included the track on his second studio album, Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood.

DMX once addressed his relationship with Ja Rule during an interview with HipHopDX back in 2002. At the time, he discussed how the two have very similar styles of rapping. “It’s not like I’m the only one thinking about this,” he said. “N****s ask me about this shit everyday. So what I’m gonna do? Sit here and do nothing about this sh*t? That ain’t right. I could see if the n***a talked like that regularly. How I talk is how I rap.” He also recalled a specific incident at a club in Los Angeles when he felt Rule was being disrespectful. After bringing him drinks in the club, he ran into Rule again two weeks later: “Same circumstances. Some kid walks over to me and says ‘Ja says he is over there.’ I’m like ‘Aight, is he gonna come over?’ ‘Nah, he said come over there.’ Get the f*ck out of here man, I already extended my hand once. Give me the same courtesy. You can’t do the same as me? I sent him right back over there. You’d think Ja would come over here after all that. Nothin!’ I’m like, “f*ck you.””

Why Was NBA YoungBoy Beefing With Joe Budden?

Joe Budden is no stranger to stirring up controversy through The Joe Budden Podcast. Since the series began airing in 2015, the former Slaughterhouse rapper has engaged in public feuds with Logic, Adam22, Migos, and even his own cohosts.

During a recent segment on Budden’s show, the retired rapper gave an honest reaction to NBA YoungBoy’s latest efforts. During the segment, Budden called the 24-year-old rapper “trash” and said his latest music is “horrible.” Budden’s unfiltered take caused a wide array of backlash from YB himself. The beef also invited comments from prominent hip-hop figures such as Birdman and Benzino.

Joe Budden’s Comments Sparked The Beef

The critique didn’t stop at NBA YoungBoy’s latest studio project, Decided 2, which dropped last month. Joe Budden continued his comments, entering into a tirade regarding the “YB better” meme. The running gag saw droves of YoungBoy fans leaving comments on other rappers’ songs and performances. According to Budden, this trend wasn’t an organic expression of support for the young rising star and actually came as a result of studio executives utilizing covert guerrilla marketing techniques. Budden also suggested that the overwhelming support for YB had died down in recent months, ever since the rapper was put on house arrest in Salt Lake City, Utah.

NBA YoungBoy Claps Back

In response to Joe Budden’s comments, NBA YoungBoy took to social media to clap back. The young rapper responded with an enraged and profanity-laced series of short videos. In them, YoungBoy touted his album’s prolonged placement on the Billboard charts, taunted Budden for his age and relevance, and invited the 43-year-old podcaster to pull up in Salt Lake for a man-on-man altercation.

While this enraged reaction may have inspired other media figures to ease tensions, Joe Budden doubled down. The podcaster took to Twitter Spaces to defend his comments, stating, “I just wanna say I’m way bigger than him. Stop this,” while reading off disappointing sales numbers and Billboard charts for YB’s latest records.

Birdman Weighs In

As the beef between Joe Budden and NBA YoungBoy continued to escalate, Young Money label head and YB mentor Birdman also decided to weigh in. While Birdman refrained from getting into specifics regarding the beef, he sternly warned Budden, stating, “You f***in with something you should leave alone.” In addition to trashing NBA YoungBoy’s numbers, Joe Budden also dissed the rapper’s fans. Budden referred to loyal listeners of YB as “young idiots” who are easily fooled by music industry tricks.

Joe Budden Apologizes

Thankfully, the beef seems to be dying down, as Budden took to his podcast to apologize for his comments and walk back some of his criticism. In his apology, the podcaster assured listeners that his initial comments sounded harsher than he intended and clarified that he has since spoken to NBA YoungBoy personally to squash their beef. With so many rap feuds ending in unnecessary violence, it’s nice to see these two men put their differences aside before the situation becomes unmanageable.

Royce Da 5’9″ Honors Kendrick Lamar On New “Monsters” Series

Royce Da 5’9″ recently launched his new Monsters series, which sees the Detroit native pay tribute weekly to different hip-hop greats. He kicked off the Monster Energy-sponsored series with a compilation of the highs of Kendrick Lamar’s career, featuring a remix of “Backseat Freestyle.” According to the post, he’ll be “paying homage to a different monster in the culture” every week.

“I know, I know fanfare is fun, it’s fun to compare, but some people are different,” he says in a voiceover. “Who else in culture would you say has superhuman skill or ability and if that made the world better for your own unique experience — somehow better.” He continued, sharing that Kendrick Lamar would be his first “Monster.”

Royce Da 5’9″ Calls Kendrick Lamar A “Monster”

“With that being said, this week I chose Kendrick Lamar. Why? Because as a[n] artist, he checks every single box. The man is a monster. A monster,” he said. Fans are flooding his comments section with their requests for which “monster” he should highlight next. Clearly, Royce Da 5’9″ has nothing but nice things to say about Kendrick Lamar. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case for Lupe Fiasco. He threw some shade at his former podcast co-host on a verse in “Never The Same” last month. He alluded to the falling out he had with the rapper back in 2021.

“I’m not here to bury the hatch, it’s just I don’t care to relax,” Royce Da 5’9″ raps on the song. “I don’t think that Lupe’s who I should spit my disparity at, I don’t think Mickey Factz is who I should give a charity match.” What do you think of Royce Da 5’9″ paying homage to Kendrick Lamar on his new Monsters series? The LOX Label Andre 3000 The “Greatest Ever” & Plead For Him To Return To Rap

The LOX want Andre 3000 to return to hip-hop after the Outkast rapper recently released his debut studio album, New Blue Sun, as an instrumental project. Appearing on The Breakfast Club without Jadakiss, Sheek Louch and Styles P reflected on Andre’s latest effort and labeled him the greatest of all time while doing so.

“Nah, so much to talk about Dre,” Sheek said. “It’s a lot, man. Just how you word it and put it. You don’t gotta — of course we not talking about being in the hallways or trapping and all that too much but it’s a lot. Let us know what you been going through.”

Styles added: “Rap about his travels. He’s one of the greatest to ever do it. He could’ve rapped over the flute beats. Straight up. I think rapping about what is he gonna rap about is a good point-of-view. It gives different people different perspectives.” As for why Andre decided against rapping on the new record, he explained during an interview with GQ that doing so wouldn’t feel genuine. “Sometimes it feels inauthentic for me to rap because I don’t have anything to talk about in that way,” Dre admitted. “I’m 48 years old. And not to say that age is a thing that dictates what you rap about, but in a way it does. And things that happen in my life, like, what are you talking about? ‘I got to go get a colonoscopy.’ What are you rapping about? ‘My eyesight is going bad.’”
