North West Dances To New Nicki Minaj Album In Barbie Themed Fit

Overnight, Nicki Minaj finally released her highly-anticipated 5th album Pink Friday 2. She didn’t keep anything back from fans delivering a massive 22-song tracklist that added up to over 80 minutes of material. Included in the tracklist are singles dating back to last year like “Super Freaky Girl,” “Red Ruby Da Sleaze,” and “Last Time I Saw You.” The album is also packed full of high-profile features. J. Cole, Lil Uzi Vert, Drake, Lil Wayne, Future, and many more pop up on some of the album’s most talked about songs. The project also contains some notable samples, including one from Billie Eilish on the opening track.

One of the tracks that has stood out to fans immediately is “Everybody” with Lil Uzi Vert. One of those fans is Kim Kardashian’s daughter North West. She’s no stranger to being a fan of some of the biggest female rappers around. Recently she was starstruck when she got the chance to Facetime with Sexyy Red. Now she’s also proving to be quite a Barb. It seems like North stayed up late to listen to Nicki’s new album right when it dropped and took the event seriously while sporting a Barbie-themed fit. A video of her dancing to “Everybody” started making the rounds overnight just as other fans were digesting the album. Check out the full clip below.

North West Dancing To Nicki Minaj

In the comments, fans agree with North’s hype. “Nicki has a huge fanbase and she catered to ALL. It’s a song for everyone and their vibe. Love this song & the album!!” one of the top comments reads. “I love North. She’s so tapped into culture authentically. We was doing the same thing to our fav artist at this age too,” another comment agrees.

In the wake of Pink Friday 2‘s release fans quickly tried to break down its lyrical content. One of the standout points on the record features a bar about Tory Lanez that many are interpreting as a Megan Thee Stallion diss. What do you think of North West dancing to the new Nicki Minaj album shortly after it was released? Let us know in the comment section below.

Finesse2tymes’ Brother Accuses Rapper Of Having Him Jumped

Recently, Finesse2tymes brother took to Instagram Live to reveal that he was recently jumped. He boasted a large knot on his forehead, which he says was a result of the incident. Surprisingly, he alleges that the person who orchestrated the attack was the rapper himself.

Allegedly, the two of them got into an argument, and Finesse2tymes later sent some friends to jump his brother. His brother claims that he went live to “expose” him, expressing disbelief that Finesse2tymes would do something like that to him. “What type of n***a you know let his n****s fight his own brother?” he wondered. He continued, suggesting that instead of allegedly sending his friends after him, he should have faced him “one on one.”

Finesse2tymes’ Brother Speaks Out

Finesse2tymes’ brother went on to claim that he has footage of the incident, and that he isn’t afraid to release it. He also advised his brother not to reach out to him moving forward, as he’ll no longer be there to help. It’s unclear if or when he plans on releasing the footage. Unfortunately, this isn’t the only person close to Finesse2tymes to take aim at him on social media recently. Last month, he cut ties with two of his three girlfriends, turning his attention to his “true” love, FNG Shugga. One of his exes, who is currently pregnant with his child, took to her Instagram Story to sound off about the split.

“My gay a** ex going through a mental breakdown because he’s on ‘downtime’ from getting his BBL or lipo or whatever you want to call it,” she wrote. “So, he is bored at home! Butttttt he need to worry bout his girlfriend (bm) takin’ pills. I been gone round y’all for months! Why still worry bout me??” What do you think of Finesse2tymes’ brother alleging that the rapper had him jumped? Snoop Dogg Revealed The Depressingly Low Payout For A Billion Streams That Got Him Interested In NFTs

For the past few years, Snoop Dogg has been one of the biggest advocates for NFTs while also criticizing the current streaming model. In 2022, after securing the rights to the Death Row Records catalog, he removed most of it from streaming services and kept them off until earlier this year. Meanwhile, he told fans he wanted to make Death Row an “NFT record label” and maneuvered to have his supergroup Mount Westmore’s first album released as an NFT on Gala Music.

In a new interview, he revealed what prompted his interest in NFTs: Only getting $45,000 from 1 billion streams on Spotify.

Appearing on the podcast Business Untitled, Snoop explained that creators were using his likeness and name to promote various products and although he was mad at first, his embracing them allowed every one to make money “and not have to pay Apple 30 percent… to directly get it, sell it, and resell it. That was like real estate.” The difference, he said, was “transparency.”

“That’s what the music industry and the film industry doesn’t have, so this was a way to show transparency,” he said. “‘Give me a song,’” he said from the perspective of a traditional label exec. “‘I’m taking 60 percent ’cause I’m putting it out for you, you getting 40 percent. That may sound like a lot, but you just made $100,000.’ In the streaming world… They just sent me some shit from Spotify, where I got a billion streams. My publisher hit me. I said, ‘Break that down, how much money is that?’ That sh*t wasn’t even $45,000… when [NFTs] came out, I could tell an artist that same song that you put out traditionally that didn’t make no money, give it to me. Every time you sell it, if somebody else sell it, you get 10 percent of it.”

As he points out, blockchain technology allows this moeny to be directly funneled from the point of purchase to the artist without having to go through admin at rights holders (which could not only delay a royalty payment but heavily eat into it, as well). This was actually the exciting use case for the tech that made it seem viable in the first place, and while the NFT craze derailed it somewhat (the apes were really dumb, sorry not sorry), that end case is still in play, offering artists an avenue around the streamers, which have notoriously low payouts for artists.

While Snoop’s $45,000 claim seems… mathematically iffy, at best, his point is still valid. Spotify has taken a lot of heat lately for its comically low payouts, so much that the company announced sweeping changes to free up more money in the royalty pool after some less than scrupulous creators found ways to game the system (of course, it also fired over a thousand employees, so… yeah). Since most of Snoop’s most popular music pre-dates streaming, it could just be that a lot of hands are grabbing pieces of the pie before he does — another legacy of the lopsided major label system (for the record, Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group). It’s fortunate that he’s found a new way to revitalize his original revenue stream, even if he’s got plenty of others, these days.

In June, Doja Cat will paint Lisbon, Portugal red with rhymes. Today (December 8), the “Attention” rapper has been announced as the latest headliner for Rock In Rio 2024. The festival is slated to occur across the second and third weekend in June. So far, several of the event’s highlighted acts have been announced. However, Doja Cat’s attendance marks a momentous occasion for more reasons than one.

Firstly, this is Doja Cat’s first time playing in the event. Also, her playing on June 23, 2024 gives her the honor of closing out the festival. In a statement, Roberta Medina, the Executive Vice President of Rock in Rio, spoke about the notable occasion: “To have Doja Cat headlining our lineup for the first time in Portugal is a privilege! It’s going to be four days of great joy to recharge the energy of everyone who passes through the City of Rock. As you can see from the names already announced, we’ve got rock, pop, hip-hop… music for the most mature to the youngest.”

Other performers on the lineup include Scorpions and Evanescence on June 15. Ed Sheeran, Calum Scott, and Jão will perform the following day. Doja Cat, Camila Cabello, Luísa Sonza, and Pedro Sampaio will perform on June 23. No entertainers have been announced for June 22 as of yet.

2Pac’s Father Calls Keefe D A “Pawn” Used By Death Row Or The Government

During a recent interview with The Art of Dialogue, 2Pac’s biological father Billy Garland shared his thoughts on the arrest of Keefe D, who’s been charged with his son’s murder. He suggested that the government used the alleged Crip as a “tool,” insinuating that there were larger forces at play in 2Pac’s murder. Garland says he’s numb to Keefe D’s arrest, as he doesn’t believe it resolves the true injustice that led to his son’s death.

“He’s not a very intelligent individual,” he said of Keefe D. “When you go on air and say you participated in a high-scale assassination, eventually it’s gonna come back on you. I’m surprised he went that far and that long without them arresting him… He was in the car — that’s aiding and abetting in a murder! But he was doing his part with the rest of the people who were talking about the Orlando Anderson — he was fulfilling that glitch and adding to their truth, which we all know wasn’t true.”

Billy Garland On Keefe D’s Arrest

He went on, noting how he’s not satisfied with Keefe D’s arrest. “I’m just as empty by the loss of my son as the rest of the world is,” he described. “I have no feelings about it whatsoever because it’s not true. It’s not the truth. It’s just another pawn being moved in the game of chess to create that continuous story that we don’t know who did it. And that’s what they want.”

“Everybody can see through this thin veil of deceit,” Garland also added. “It’s ridiculous. I don’t think we’ll ever find out who really did the shooting. But we know it wasn’t no one individual. Keefe D might have been involved in it, but he was a pawn — maybe by the government, maybe by Death Row.” What do you think of 2Pac’s father’s take on Keefe D’s arrest? “Pink Friday 2” Reactions: Nicki Minaj Stunned, Slayed, Shocked & Soured On New Album

Now that Nicki Minaj’s highly anticipated fifth studio album is finally here, the Barbz and music fans at large are spending a lot of time breaking it down. Of course, it’s pretty early to really come to a conclusion on what the consensus behind Pink Friday 2 is. We’re sure that some beats will grow on us, we will understand bars more with each listen, some features won’t be as exciting as when we first heard them, and so on. But on Onika’s 41st birthday, on the very first day we got our ears on it, how is it shaping up? Well, according to the fans… good! But it depends on who you ask.

Obviously, a lot of fans of Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, or other femcees probably don’t like Pink Friday 2 that much. Apparently Nicki Minaj had plenty of subliminal disses and shots for the female rap game, which is disappointing to see from just a solidarity standpoint. With these conflicts and comparisons in mind, you’ll obviously find a lot of hate towards the project online from other female rap fans, which is very understandable. If you’ve liked the Barb before, you’ll probably like this record, but if you prefer other styles, it might not do much for you.

Barbz Are Loving Nicki Minaj’s Latest

Furthermore, there’s also a lot of convo about the featured guests: Young Money (Lil Wayne & Drake), Future, Lil Uzi Vert, and more. Particularly, there was even some conversation around Drizzy’s appearance on here being better than a lot of what made it to For All The Dogs. That’s on the track “Needle” if you’re curious to check it out. If you want to see more wild reactions to Pink Friday 2, Nicki Minaj’s latest nuke-drop on the industry, check them out below.

Snoop Dogg Reveals Spotify Earnings, Recalls Nearly Filing For Bankruptcy

Back in May, Snoop Dogg stopped by The Milken Institute’s 2023 Global Conference in Beverly Hills, where the hitmaker shared his thoughts on artificial intelligence. At one point in the conversation, Snoop went off topic momentarily to express his frustrations with streaming, noting how artists’ success is typically not reflected by their earnings.

“Can someone explain to me how you can get a billion streams and not get a million dollars? That sh*t don’t make sense to me,” he explained. “I don’t know who the f*ck is running the streaming industry if you in here or not? But you need to give us some information on how to f*cking track this money down… Because one plus one ain’t adding up to two.”

Snoop Dogg Didn’t Even Make $45K From A Billion Streams

The Long Beach native continued, revealing how much he earned from hitting a billion streams on Spotify. “They just sent me some sh*t from Spotify where I got a billion streams,” he shared. “My publisher hit me. I said, ‘Break that down. How much money is that?’ That sh*t wasn’t even $45K.” Unfortunately, this isn’t the only time that Snoop’s talents haven’t paid off financially. During a recent appearance on the Business Untitled podcast, he advocated for schools teaching students financial literacy, reflecting on some of the most difficult points of his career.

“There were times in my career where it got so bad my accountant was like, ‘We should just do bankruptcy,’” he recalled. “My pride got involved. F*ck that. If I say bankruptcy then I look like I f*cked off everything.” He went on, calling for better education when it comes to managing finances. “You got these athletes, you teaching them how to run routes, how to dunk, do interviews and convert into analysts after they finish their career; how about teaching them to be businessmen at the end of their career?”

Rick Ross Seems To Shade 50 Cent Again By Meeting Kenneth McGriff Jr.

The battle between Rick Ross and 50 Cent has been going on since the late 2000s, and it seems like it’ll never end. Moreover, their feud is the kind of thing that always follows them around and causes fans to read very, very deeply into any ways they could connect. The latest example of this is Ross linking up with the Kenneth McGriff Jr. as his senior, “Supreme,” is one of 50’s longtime rivals. In a video posted to Junior’s Instagram page on Thursday (December 7), he puts a “Supreme Team” jacket on the rapper’s back. In addition, he elaborated a little on their meeting in the post’s caption.

“BIG bro said we just getting warmed up,” Kenneth McGriff Jr. expressed in the caption of the Rick Ross video. “Don’t get scared now. Double M Everybody can’t go. We smiling because we getting a lot of money. World Famous Supreme Team @fredfrenchy you that guy. Love you bro. Who had a bigger year than me. Don’t worry I’ll wait.” For those unaware, Supreme Sr. is allegedly the person behind 50 Cent’s 2000 shooting. He supposedly carried this out with Murder Inc.’s help, but those are just rumors.

Rick Ross With Supreme Jr.: Watch

What’s funny is that Fat Joe recently received a similar warning as Rick Ross from 50 Cent fans over his proximity to the McGriffs. When the Terror Squad mogul linked up with Supreme Jr., fans thought that his beef with the Queens MC might start once more. However, it seems like Fif didn’t really pay it much attention, so maybe he didn’t think much of a former rival meeting up with a current one. There’s also the question of why Joe would do something like that in the first place if he already knows what that dynamic is like.

Meanwhile, the last jab between Fif and Rozay was that the former brought up the latter’s controversial Molly and champagne lyrics when speaking about the Diddy situation. Then, he clapped back by mentioning that the G-Unit boss’ girlfriend is a big fan, although he seemed to confuse her for another person. Regardless, we’re sure that we’ll see some other wild battle between these two soon. For more news and the latest updates on Rick Ross and 50 Cent, keep checking in with HNHH.

When Does Snoop Dogg’s ‘The Underdoggs’ Movie Come Out?

You know what there really isn’t enough of anymore? Kids’ sports movies. In the ’90s, these were a cinema staple; think The Sandlot, The Mighty Ducks, or The Little Giants. For some weird reason (Marvel), Hollywood just doesn’t make this kind of movie anymore, and it’s a real shame, because they were foundational for many a millennial’s youth.

Fortunately, Snoop Dogg is here to resurrect the genre with his own movie, fittingly titled Underdoggs. In a hodgepodge of various tropes from the above-mentioned classics, the Doggfather plays an NFL star whose bad-boy behavior lands him in community service coaching a youth football in his hometown — where else but Long Beach?

It’s a stunning bit of real-life synergy; for years, Snoop has funded and coached his own Pop Warner squad (on which Vince Staples once played) in Long Beach, so the role is not only a natural fit, it also finds Snoop basically playing himself. The film also stars Mike Epps (who has an exceptionally funny turn in the trailer) and George Lopez as a sage veteran who gives Snoop just the advice he needs to turn into a modern-day Gordon Bombay (seriously, kids. Watch The Mighty Ducks).

The Underdoggs comes to Amazon Prime on January 26, 2024. Watch the trailer above.
