Future And Metro Boomin Are Replacing Lil Uzi Vert As Rolling Loud California Headliners After Uzi Claimed They Never Agreed To Perform

Rolling Loud California unveiled their 2024 lineup on Tuesday, November 14, but the highers-up may have been so eager to drop some names that they added some names that hadn’t yet been confirmed, or perhaps even courted. One was Lil Uzi Vert. The rapper took to their Instagram Story to say, “I never said I was doing Rolling Loud,” adding, “Don’t understand why my name is on here.”

As of Wednesday afternoon, November 15, Uzi’s name is no longer on the list. The festival posted an updated lineup poster, with Future and Metro Boomin replacing Uzi as Sunday headliners.

The festival is scheduled to take place at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California (surrounding SoFi Stadium) from Friday, March 15 to Sunday, March 17, 2024. Nicki Minaj will handle headlining duties on Friday, followed by Post Malone on Saturday. The full lineup can be found here.

Rolling Loud California’s presale is scheduled for Thursday, November 16, beginning at 10 a.m. PST. An general public sale will follow on Friday, November 17, at 10 a.m. PST. The festival’s official website lists ticket options as follows: 3-Day GA, 3-Day GA+, 3-Day VIP, 3-Day VIP + Munchie Pack. There is also an option to book a hotel here.

Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Has Become The Best Festival In America

Tyler The Creator
Philip Cosores

The more things change, the more they stay the same. The last time Tyler, The Creator and his Odd Future family took over Dodger Stadium for Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival was four years ago and I wrote at the time that while the “mystery headliner” gamble didn’t pay off, “Camp Flog Gnaw is still one of the best festival experiences for your money.” Since then, the festival was derailed by a global pandemic and put on ice for another three years, during which the pop culture landscape shifted in all kinds of unexpected ways.

Yet, in its return to the fabled stadium overlooking Los Angeles, the festival not only lived up to that assessment but surpassed it; despite being gone from the public eye for nearly four years, Camp Flog Gnaw has become the best festival in America. There are myriad reasons for this, but we’ve listed the strongest ones below.

Dodger Stadium: The Ideal Venue For Camp Flog Gnaw

Camp Flog Gnaw
Philip Cosores

As the old saying goes, “Location, location, location.” You don’t get very many better locations than the famed Blue Heaven On Earth. Situated on its unnamed hill overlooking scenic Elysian Park and the sparse but dazzling LA skyline, the view is unmatched, aided by the famed West Coast weather that draws transplants — some enthusiastically, others reluctantly — from all around the world.

This year’s festival made incredibly effective use of its footprint in the sprawling lots surrounding the stadium. Where the previous iterations scattered the stages around the stadium itself, this year, they were lined up parallel to each other facing toward home plate. While the side-by-side arrangement created some slight sound bleed and the need to walk past the Camp stage to get from Flog to Gnaw and vice versa, it was an easy walk, affording the opportunity to check out the main stage between the intermediate and small stage sets.

The Crowd: Kids Who Grew Up In An Odd Future

Camp Flog Gnaw
Philip Cosores

Bless the Rolling Loud kids, but they are just a little too exuberant for me. Flog Gnaw is similar in age and diversity, but remarkably chiller — more “golden retriever” energy when compared to RL’s labradors. It’s definitely the best fest for people-watching, with attendees decked out in their best Tyler, The Creator cosplay, from Doug sweater vests to Igor suits. I even spotted a few Tyler Baudelaire ushankas — the 80-degree LA weather notwithstanding.

And going back to that intro line, there was something comforting about seeing the shaggy looks of my millennial youth being so lovingly recreated by that generation’s descendants (did you know jorts are back, along with whale tails?). They’re a friendly bunch too; I found myself roped into an affable group made up of a tall white kid, a Filipino/Latino guy, a Persian Iranian, and a black rocker and felt like one of the gang.

The Lineup, From Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem To Ice Spice and PinkPantheress

The Hillbillies (Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem)
Philip Cosores

I mean, duh, right? But there’s something to the level of effort Tyler devotes to curating the lineup each year. While most other fests seemingly recycle the same buzzy names based on social engagement and streaming numbers, T selects friends and artists he’s genuinely a fan of. Witness his going absolutely ballistic in the photo pit for Sunday night’s Clipse set, rhyming “We Got It For Cheap” word for word.

The mutual appreciation that the artists display for each other radiates from stage to stage. Whether it’s the more left-field or underground acts on the Gnaw stage like AG Club, BADBADNOTGOOD, Redveil, and Toro Y Moi, or the nascent rockers like Kevin Abstract and Teezo Touchdown, these artists all genuinely love Tyler, and they love playing Flog Gnaw. This isn’t just “show up and collect a check” stuff. Headliners like Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem showed out as well, even if they weren’t mainstays like Syd, Domo Genesis, or Earl Sweatshirt.

It’s also affirming to see how the crowd responds to these acts that mainstream observers overlook or sneer down their noses at. During Teezo’s set, his rapport with the crowd was ironclad and they sang every song from his album — only a few months old — at top volume. Ice Spice, for all the hand-wringing being done by folks my age and older (I’m getting sick of talking about it too, by the way, maybe y’all should chill out), delivered a blazing set that displayed real technical proficiency (her breath control is underrated) and had white boys in the crowd declaring their undying love.

Tyler, The Creator, The Brains Behind The Operation

Tyler The Creator
Philip Cosores

But really, the main thing that makes Flog Gnaw what it is, is its … ahem … creator. 10 years on from the formation and explosion of Odd Future, Tyler Okonma has found the balance between the angry, aggressive kid he was at the outset and the cheeky genius he showed flashes of until 2017 when he flourished with Flower Boy.

During his set, he joked with fans about his lack of new music, ribbed them gleefully about the last time we all gathered at this spot and they booed his beloved headliner, Drake, and offered moments of both humility and unhinged excess. Going from earnestly thanking his most loyal fans for returning from the uncertainly of pandemic living to flexing a literal flamethrower takes panache and a certain immodesty, and fortunately for all of us, Tyler has both in spades. Watching the “campers” depart at the end of the fest felt a lot like the end of summer — nostalgic for the recently made memories and already looking forward to next year.

Afro Nation Festival Is Returning In 2024 With Performers Rema, Asake, And J Hus

Afro Nation, the biggest Afrobeats festival in the world, is returning to Portugal in 2024 with a stacked lineup featuring some of the biggest names in African music. The first wave of announced performers include Rema, Asake, J Hus, Ninho, Tyla, Omah Lay, Flavour, and more. As usual, a second stage will highlight some of Amapiano’s hottest DJs, including Uncle Waffles and Major League DJz. The festival takes place at the Algarve in Portimão on June 26-28, 2024. Tickets go on sale on November 23; you can find more information at afronation.com.

The 2024 performers include some of the genre’s biggest rising stars. Rema enjoyed increased public standing in 2023, performing for the NBA’s 2023 All-Star Game, on The Tonight Show, and at Broccoli City Fest. He also teamed up with hip-hop’s fastest-rising star, Ice Spice, for “Pretty Girl,” which the duo teamed up to perform on SNL.

Meanwhile, Tyla became the first South African musician to chart on the Billboard 200 in fifty years thanks to her hit song “Water” going viral on TikTok. She too made her US television debut recently, in addition to being nominated for the 2024 Grammy Awards. Asake and J Hus both dropped new albums, as well, establishing themselves as forces in the Afrobeats scene.

More performers will likely be announced as March nears, so stay tuned.

How To Buy Tickets To Rolling Loud California 2024

Rolling Loud is returning to Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California from March 15-17, 2024. The 2023 festival was headlined by Future, Playboi Carti, and Travis Scott, but the three-day event had plenty to offer and left a lasting impression on Uproxx’s Aaron Williams. Which is to say, you don’t want to miss your opportunity to buy tickets to Rolling Loud California, and that’s where we come in. Below is all the information we have (so far).

How To Buy Tickets To Rolling Loud California

Rolling Loud’s presale began on October 19, and the festival confirmed that the presale had sold out on Thursday, November 9. You can join the waitlist here.

How Much Are Tickets?

As of right now, pre-sale ticket prices are listed on Rolling Loud’s website as follows (before factoring in taxes and fees): General admission tickets were $299, GA+ tickets were $449, VIP tickets were $599, and VIP Munchies tickets were $799. But pre-sale ticketing plays by different rules than the general sale, and it’s still unclear when tickets will become available to the public. Again, a waitlist option is available.

When Does The Rolling Loud California 2024 Lineup Come Out?

The Rolling Loud California 2023 lineup was announced last November, so the 2024 lineup could very well drop as early as next week. The festival’s social media accounts teased it this week, confirming that the lineup will drop at some point this month.

When Does The Rolling Loud LA 2024 Lineup Come Out?

It has been a little under a month since Rolling Loud announced the dates for its 2024 return to Los Angeles, and fans are understandably antsy for more information. Rolling Loud’s social media manager, meanwhile, has been delighted to tease them with the possibility of updates like the one below. It doesn’t look like fans will have to wait too long to see the lineup, as Rolling Loud writes, “feels like a lucky month to announce a lineup.”

That means we can probably expect to learn who’s performing at next year’s LA show sometime this month. The 2023 edition of the festival, which took place in early March, was headlined by Future, Playboi Carti, and Travis Scott and featured a lineup including standout performances from Coi Leray, Ice Spice, Ken Carson, Larry June, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, and more. It also established its new venue in Hollywood Park, Inglewood (just outside the SoFi Stadium) as a well-suited location for its upcoming 10th-anniversary celebrations (and fifth year in the City of Angels)

So it’s good to know that it’ll be returning there in 2024. Rolling Loud LA is scheduled for March 15-17, with tickets already on sale. You can more information on the Roling Loud website.

When Does Dreamville Festival’s 2024 Lineup Come Out?

j cole rolling loud

Somehow, we’ve already reached the portion of the year when we’re either recapping what happened or beginning to look forward to what is penciled in for the new year. Festivals, such as Bonnaroo and Welcome To Rockville, are slowly leaking out details about their 2024 events. Go ahead and lump Dreamville Festival into that group. On October 23, Dreamville Festival confirmed it will return to Raleigh, North Carolina on April 6 and 7, 2024. Below is everything else we know (so far) about what J. Cole, Ibrahim “Ib” Hamad, and the Dreamville crew have in store for 2024.

When Does Dreamville Festival’s 2024 Lineup Come Out?

The best we can do at the time of this writing is hypothesize based on Dreamville announcing its 2023 lineup in late February. It feels safe to assume that the 2024 lineup will arrive around the same time, considering the 2022 lineup’s unveiling happened in early March. The 2023 headliners were J. Cole, Drake, Burna Boy, and Usher.

When Do Dreamville Festival 2024 Tickets Go On Sale?

Well, the presale “for newsletter subscribers” has come and gone, but the public on-sale is scheduled for Friday, November 10, at 10 a.m. EST. More information can be found here, where other presale codes and instructions are still available.

How Much Are Dreamville Festival 2024 Tickets?

As of this writing, the Dreamville Fest official website does not disclose ticket prices. It feels like it’s worth noting that GA+, JV, Varsity, and MVP ticket packages are listed with prompts to “join the waitlist,” while General Admission does not have that designation. There are also hotel options available to book here.

The 2023 ticket prices ranged from $249 (to start) for general admission to $1,499 MVP VIP packages.

Dreamville Festival 2024 will take place on April 6 and 7, 2024, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Find more information here.

When Is Stagecoach 2024?

Country music lovers won’t be left out of the outdoor programming festivities next year. In September, Goldenvoice announced that Stagecoach 2024 had some heavy hitters on the expected lineup, and they were right. So, when is Stagecoach 2024?

The multi-day event is set to take place from April 26 to 28, 2024. The genre’s biggest names and several notable crossover artists would descend upon the Empire Polo Grounds (yes, the home of Coachella) in Indigo, California, for the event. Headliners for Stagecoach 2024 include Eric Church (Friday, April 26, 2024), Miranda Lambert (Saturday, April 27, 2024), and Morgan Wallen (Sunday, April 28).

Other notable talent slated to appear is recent Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame 2023 inductee and living legend Willie Nelson, “Circles” musician Post Malone, Jelly Roll, Elle King, Leon Bridges, Hardy, and Bailey Zimmerman. To view the full lineup, take a look at the official flyer inserted below.

Stagecoach 2024 is set to take place from April 26 to 28, 2024. According to the event’s official website, there are no more tickets available. Passes, including general and VIP packages, are completely sold out. However, there is a wishlist in case more tickets become available closer to the event’s date. Find more information here.

Did Dreamville Fest Reveal Its 2024 Lineup?

j cole

There’s no denying that, for many, the holiday season brings in an air of festivity. The constant loop of Mariah Carey’s mega-hit “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” eggnog, and the gathering of their closest loved ones is a joyous occasion. Others are hoping to fast-forward through the winter months and straight into the spring season. If that’s you, then the announcement of Dreamville Fest 2024 is right up your alley.

Last month, organizers confirmed that the annual event would return to its home of Raleigh, North Carolina, on April 6 and 7, 2024. This year’s lineup featured an all-star arrangement of Usher, Drake (with a host of guest cameos), Burna Boy, and more. Due to the massive set of entertainers that hit the stage this year, music lovers are curious to see how the 2024 event outdoes itself. So, did Dreamville Fest reveal its 2024 lineup? Not yet.

Although the Chase cardholders’ pre-sale kicks off tomorrow (November 8), the multi-day event has not given any hints about the official lineup. However, since its inception, the festival has always featured performances by Dreamville’s head honcho, J. Cole, and several of the imprint’s signees (Ari Lennox, JID, Earthgang, Cozz, Bas, and Omen). We’ll keep our eyes for the confirmed lineup, but that could be, if it sticks to its schedule, sometime in February 2024.

Dreamville Fest 2024 is set to take place on April 6 and 7, 2024, inside Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Chase cardholders’ pre-sale begins on November 8, 2023, at 10 a.m. Eastern. Find more information here.
