LL Cool J Shares His Take On Miranda Lambert Calling Out Her Selfie-Taking Concertgoers: ‘Get Over It, Baby’

Miranda Lambert has been in the headlines quite a bit lately after calling out fans at her concert for taking selfies while she was in the middle of performing. Though many gave her slack for embarrassing her own fans, it was reported that these “fans” were a group of six women turned away from Lambert and blocking the view of other fans while using flash.

However, LL Cool J gave his take on the controversy while appearing on the radio show Mercedes in the Morning. He was asked if he would call out a fan for taking a selfie at his concert, and he laughed and answered, “No,” and added, “Miranda, get over it, baby. They’re fans. It’s fans.”

He continued, “I can’t speak for her. I’m not gonna judge her. I have nothing unkind to say about her. I wish her the best. She has the right to her feelings. But to me, I let the fans be the fans and do what they want to do.”

Lambert would probably disagree. When calling out the fans, she said, “I’m gonna stop right here for a second, I’m sorry. These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song, it’s pissing me off a little bit. Sorry, I don’t like it at all. We’re here to hear some country music tonight. I’m singing some country damn music.”

‘The View’s Whoopi Goldberg Took A Selfie With A 91-Year-Old Fan While The Panel Argued Over Miranda Lambert

The View had a very animated panel discussion on Tuesday morning as the co-hosts tackled the latest controversy surrounding Miranda Lambert. The country music star recently made headlines after she scolded fans for taking selfies during a performance at her Las Vegas residency on Saturday night.

While new evidence has come to light that shows the selfie-takers were being pretty obnoxious, The View panel was notably divided on who was out of line: Lambert or the fans. Sunny Hostin argued that she’s “going to take as many selfies as I want if I paid $757 for tickets,” which did not go over well with Whoopi Goldberg.

Via Entertainment Weekly:

“You know what? Stay home,” the Oscar-winning Ghost actress said. “If you’re going to spend $750 to come to my concert, then give me the respect of watching me while I do my thing, or don’t come.”

After Hostin said that she likes to keep memories from concerts on her phone to rewatch, Goldberg got up from her moderator seat and said, “Turn on the television, girl.”

However, Goldberg then did something that completely contradicted her argument. In the middle of the panel discussion, the co-host got up out of her seat and walked off camera to the surprise of the panel. “I’m leaving y’all,” Goldberg said as she headed into the audience for a surprise twist.

“I want to take a picture with this marvelous woman, who is 91. So, we’re going to do a selfie. Just me and you,” Goldberg said while posing for the photo. “Will you push that button? We’ll be right back.”

Leon Bridges And Miranda Lambert’s ‘If You Were Mine’ Video Contains A Mystical Veil Of Texas Magic

Everything’s bigger in Texas, including the musicial collaborations. Miranda Lambert’s new single “If You Were Mine” featuring Leon Bridges is the latest example. On the track, the two Texas natives create magic as they blend together elements of country and R&B. Lambert hailing from Longview and Bridges from Fort Worth, the pair pay homage to the Lone Star State.

The Grammy Award-winning songwriter draws metaphors from across the country side, including the Frio River, as heard in the line, “I’d make sure your stars are shining / Sure as the Frio’s winding / I’d bottle you up like lightning / I’d rope the moon for you / A million times / That’s what I’d do / If you were mine.”

In a statement, Lambert gushed about her collaborator, saying, “I have been a big fan of Leon for a while because he is very authentic as an artist and I love his music.”

Later, the singer spoke about the hometown tribute throughout the lyrics, saying, “Since we are both from Texas, we threw in a few Texas references, of course – the Frio River being one. When we finished this song, we sent it to Leon in hopes that he would want to collaborate and we were so glad that he said yes. I have really enjoyed getting to know him and I’m happy to have him as a new friend.”
