Blavity House Party Debuts in Nashville with Performances from Rick Ross, Monica, and More

Making its debut at Nashville Municipal Auditorium this weekend, Blavity House Party was designed as an immersive music and culture experience. A celebration of Black joy, the kickoff event for Black Music Month balanced big onstage moments with the small joys that turn a group of strangers into a community. Hosted by Zack Fox and Bridget Kelly, the party kicked off in Nashville, bringing great performances, food, vibes, and more to Music City.

The first-ever music experience presented by Blavity Media Group, the two-day, multi-stage House Party featured a cross-generational array of talented performers who have defined the sound of R&B and hip-hop for the past three decades. Monica stunned with renditions of her biggest hits like “So Gone” and “Love All Over Me” during her headlining performance. At the same time, Rick Ross brought his iconic braggadocious raps to one of Nashville’s most storied venues. Baltimore’s favorite R&B group Dru Hill played a standout performance, bringing the crowd to its feet, singing along with their hits like “Tell Me” and “These Are the Times.” Lead singer Sisqó didn’t leave the stage without a provocative performance of his iconic, platinum-selling hit “Thong Song.”

Throughout the weekend, Big Freedia brought the bounce from New Orleans, Blxst proved to be one of LA’s finest, and GRAMMY-award-winning heartthrob Leon Thomas swooned the crowd with his hypnotic, guitar-driven hits. R&B stalwarts K. Michelle, Ryan Leslie, and Lil’ Mo serenaded audiences with their pristine vocals and lush melodies. Southern hip-hop legend Lil Scrappy delivered one of the most hype moments of the weekend, as fans vigorously rapped along to his crunk hit singles “No Problem” and “Knuck If You Buck.” Rising star Reyna Roberts brought the country flair with her cherry red hair and electrifying performance of hits including “Raised Right,” and performances from The Sainted Trap Choir, Domani, and DJ Sophia Rocks proved the future is bright.

Taking place just days before Juneteenth, Blavity House Party also shined a spotlight on Nashville’s vibrant Black community with an assortment of over 20 Black-owned vendors, restaurants, and activities for fans to engage and enjoy. Fans enjoyed Nashville favorites like Slim & Husky’s, Slutty Vegan, and Down N The Bayou, and shopped at the “Off The Shelves” marketplace. They also had a blast during double dutch and line dancing sessions on the patio in their custom Tito’s cowboy hats. Those who dared rode the mechanical bull, as Nash Feels brought some of the most memorable dance party moments of the weekend.

From cowboy chic fits and southern cuisine to the Black-owned marketplace and a vast selection of house party music, the inaugural Blavity House Party was one for the books, celebrating the Nashville community in style.

Monica Blasts Fan Who Thinks She Got A New Partner Too Quick

Monica is currently on the road with Nicki Minaj for her Pink Friday 2 world tour, and it looks like her man is by her side. Moreover, she recently posted some pictures with her boyfriend Anthony Wilson on Instagram, which Instagram account The Neighborhood Talk chose to shout out. In that post’s comments section, one fan had some particularly harsh words for the singer moving on from her past known relationship, which was her ten-year marriage to Shannon Brown from 2010 to 2019, when she filed for divorce. “Y’all don’t believe in staying single and cleansing the last man out your [cat emoji],” the fan commented.

“My last one couldn’t even get no damn [cat emoji],” Monica clapped back to the attempted cleanser in the comments section. “& that was 2.5 yrs ago !!! this is why it’s better to speak what you know or just MYMFBB,” she concluded, which we assume means… Well, we won’t spoil it for you. Regardless, it’s not the only other recent rumor that the College Park native had to address recently. When some fans theorized that she got a BBL, she was quick to set the record straight on Instagram Live.

Monica’s Response To Presumptuous Fan About Moving Too Fast

“Y’all got jokes,” Monica told her audience on the social media platform before her PF2 shows with her “Love Me Enough” collaborator began. “Let me tell you something. My health is far too bad to be playing like that. For me a BBL would mean bought by Linda,” she explained, which was a praiseful and commendatory message to her stylist. “Mama don’t play! I won’t even get lash extensions; I still wear strips I can rip off. I done kept it real with y’all so long y’all forgot.”

Meanwhile, the 43-year-old’s ex C-Murder recently seemed to address her comments on being heartbroken. “I don’t know why someone feels the need to publicly bash a person that’s fighting for their life??” the incarcerated rapper wrote on IG. “I am a black male fighting and hoping for freedom one day. Wanna speak on something??  Let’s talk about freeing us Louisiana inmates still held illegally and unconstitutionally by a racist Jim Crow law through a non-retroactive 10/2 non unanimous jury. Facts.I am asking all celebrities against RACISM to visit this website: www.louisianabusinessesagainstracistlaws.com and retweet to help relieve modern day slavery and to sign our petition for freedom. Thanks.” For more news and updates on Monica, check back in with HNHH.

Ariana Grande Reveals Her First Impression Of Remaking Brandy & Monica’s Smash Hit “The Boy Is Mine”

Earlier this week, Ariana Grande released her new album Eternal Sunshine. The highly-anticipated new album is her first since 2020’s Positions. The album was already led off by a successful lead single “yes, and?.” The song debuted at the very top spot on the Hot 100 and is still hovering inside the top 30 weeks later. To celebrate the release of the album, she sat down with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. They discussed some of the most relevant details of the project.

During the interview, she spoke on one of the tracks that grabbed fan’s attention immediately. The track is called “The Boy Is Mine” and it draws heavily from the Brandy and Monica smash hit of the same name. The track spent a stunning 13 weeks at number one on the Hot 100 and went on to win a Grammy. “I love that song. I’ve always wanted to reimagine that song in some kind of way. I was kind of like, ‘This is a very bad idea.’ But there is a large group of my fans that really do love a bad girl anthem, and this is kind of an elevated version of that,” Grande explained. Check out the full interview below.

Katt Williams Had A Hilarious Response To Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday 2 World Tour’ Guest Opener Invite

On March 1, Nicki Minaj kicked off her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. Although the intense performance run features special guest Monica, the opening slot remains unfilled. Back in February, the “Beep Beep” rapper began to gauge her fan base to see who they felt would be a good fit.

Through a live stream, Minaj finally landed on “the busiest man in show business,” Katt Williams. During the broadcast, she urged her fans to relay her invitation. “Can y’all hit up Katt Williams,” she said. “Ask him what would be his price to be a part of the ‘Pink Friday 2 Gag City Tour?””

Well, Williams has finally responded to Minaj. On March 3, as part of his Dark Matter Tour stop in Charlotte, North Carolina, he made a hilarious joke about the potential business venture. “Nicki Minaj said she wanted me on her tour, and she told so many people a million people hit my phone at the same time,” he said. It scared me and Jesus. He shut all of AT&T down!”

Although Williams’ reply wasn’t exactly a proper yes or no, it was enough to hype ticketholders up online. There are still several dozen dates left on the Pink Friday 2 World Tour, but perhaps Williams would be down to join after he wraps up his contractual duties.

Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday 2 World Tour’ Opening Night Was Nearly Overshadowed After A Video Surfaced Of Fans Fighting At The Show

Nicki Minaj came out swinging to kick off her highly anticipated Pink Friday 2 World Tour.

Unfortunately, so did a few of her devoted super fans, the Barbs. As the “Beep Beep” rapper took to the Oakland Arena stage on March 1, clips of her opening performance quickly flooded social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter). But there was one video that stole all the spotlight, and it didn’t involve Minaj at all. A now-viral visual shared on the platform showed several concertgoers involved in a vicious brawl.

In the clip, two attendees are seen punching another ticketholder. The blows exchange as security watches from afar before eventually intervening to separate the parties. With tensions still high, the last frame of the video shows the individuals yelling while being held back before it ends.

It is unclear what initiated the incident as none of the individuals have been publicly identified. Minaj also hasn’t addressed the viral video. However, she did take a moment to pen a touching note to her fans for their continued support days later. “Dear Barbz, I love you,” she wrote. “I really do. Always have. Always will.”

Minaj has several dozen shows left on her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. The next performance is slated for March 8 in Las Vegas, Nevada. View the full tour schedule (here), working setlist (here), and tour merch (here).

Does Monica Have A BBL? “The Boy Is Mine” Singer Addresses Speculation

In the music industry today, BBLs are virtually as common as recording contracts. Most of our favourite rap divas have undergone plastic surgery procedures to physically enhance themselves, be it breast augmentations, butt injections, or tummy tucks. Of course, each individual is free to do what they want with their body, but dishonesty about what’s natural and what’s fake has left a bad taste in some fan’s mouths. Presently, BBLs are so popular that the internet seems to have a hard time discerning who’s gone under the knife, and who’s been in the gym. Genre-bending artist Monica is the latest to be flooded with accusations of getting her body done, which she openly addressed on social media.

As AllHipHop reports, “The Boy Is Mine” hitmaker graced the stage at Tycoon Music Festival in Atlanta last week (February 13). After her performance, social media sleuths shared videos online pointing to Monica’s curvaceous behind in her green, velvet costume. “If Monica got a BBL I don’t like it, [because] her a** sittin’ higher than Jesus,” one Twitter/X user wrote. “It’s giving d relly where the money reside booty.” When the 43-year-old got wind of the comments she had no problem addressing them during an Instagram Live session yesterday (February 19).

Monica Claims She’s Not Healthy Enough to Undergo Major Plastic Surgery

“Y’all got jokes,” she told viewers. “Let me tell you something. My health is far too bad to be playing like that. For me a BBL would mean bought by Linda,” Monica added, referencing her stylist’s ability to make her figure look effortlessly snatched. “Mama don’t play! I won’t even get lash extensions; I still wear strips I can rip off. I done kept it real with y’all so long y’all forgot.”

Before she was allowed to join Nicki Minaj on her upcoming tour, Monica candidly expressed online that she felt forgotten by the music industry. We’re curious to see how helping to promote Pink Friday 2 might revitalize her career, especially now that the internet has so much to say about her body. Monica Seemingly Passes Out At Houston Concert

Monica

Monica experienced a health scare at her recent concert in Houston, Texas, leaving concertgoers worried. The R&B songstress seemingly passed out during her performance.

Monica Leaves Fans Concerned

On Saturday, Dec. 28, as Monica took the stage, fans immediately noticed that something seemed off.

It was stated that the “So Gone” singer arrived late for her performance, causing a wave of concern among the audience. However, the singer suddenly passed out near the stairs, having to leave in an ambulance.

Numerous fans took to social media to express their worry and send well wishes to Monica. One fan tweeted, “Poor girl, I hope #Monica is ok! She passed out and I know she had about 20 more minutes in her. She had just performed “So Gone” here in Houston, TX and like 5 minutes after she took her jacket off she passed out, something did seem off.  Here she is singing “For You I Will.” She paid homage to ppl who passed away.”

Monica’s Health

While Monica’s team has yet to address the incident publicly, TMZ reports that the singer has a history of health issues. She has previously battled high blood pressure and undergone multiple surgeries for endometriosis. Before Monica’s health incident, the singer had been seen doing “well.”

She had recently appeared on Instagram Live with rapper Nicki Minaj and Keyshia Cole, during which Minaj teased their collaboration, “Love Me Enough.” Monica also recently debuted her new radio show, “Mo Talk,” which aims to provide a platform for engaging conversations.

Lil Durk Cancels Shows Due To Health Scare

The incident involving Monica fainting at her concert in Houston brings to mind the challenges that musicians often face in maintaining their health. Lil Durk, a prominent rapper, encountered a similar situation in July 2023 when he was hospitalized for severe dehydration and exhaustion, which led to the cancellation of his summer tour.
