Monaleo Will Display Her ‘Resilience’ And ‘Strength’ On Her Debut Album, ‘Where The Flowers Don’t Die’

Monaleo quickly rose through the ranks in the rap scene thanks to the success of her single, “Beating Down Yo Block.” The Houston-based musician maintained her rising star status with follow-up songs like “We Not Humping.” Quickly after, the musician hit the road with fellow southern entertainer Flo Milli for her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Tour.

Now, Monaleo is ready to deliver her debut album, Where The Flowers Don’t Die, to fans. Slated to drop on May 26, the project will feature tracks “Ridgemont Baby,” “Ass Kickin,” and “Beating Down Your Block.” Although the recording artist is on strict physical restrictions as Monaleo is ready to give birth to her first child with her partner and fellow rapper Stunna 4 Vegas, that didn’t stop her from penning a touching message about the album on social media.

Uploading the record’s official album cover, Monaleo captioned the post, “My first ever body of work. Wow. I worked tirelessly to put this project together before my due date. This project is the embodiment of resilience, tenacity, and strength. I fought through physical challenges, hormone imbalances, and prenatal depression for the sake of producing good art. I’m so proud of myself for preserving and seeing this through to the end.”

The musician continued, “I’m currently on bed rest, but I can’t wait to see y’all. The most important goal for me with this project right now is for it to reach who it needs to and touch the listeners the way it touched me, curating it. Open your ears and your hearts and prepare for a roller coaster of emotions.”

Closing the post, Monaleo wrote, “This is real and raw. Thank y’all for the continued support. Thank you to my entire team, family, and friends for being with me every step of the way. I hope y’all enjoy .”

Monaleo & Stunna 4 Vegas Confirm Pregnancy With Stunning Maternity Photos

The number of babies being born to parents working in the music industry lately continues to boom. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are obviously awaiting their second, and today (April 15), 21-year-old Monaleo confirmed that she and Stunna 4 Vegas are currently expecting their first. Earlier this afternoon, the young recording artist uploaded a series of beautiful maternity photos which see her baby bump clearly on display amid the flowing pink fabric of her dress. “God is a woman,” she wrote in her caption, perfectly matching the divine feminine essence radiating from her photos.

In just a few hours, Monaleo is already seeing support from countless friends and fans. Among them is Doechii, who commented “She’s a mommyyyy 😍😍😍” under her friend’s post. Monaleo Shows Some Self-Love In New Single “Ridgemont Baby”

Texan rapper Monaleo returns to her roots in her new single, “Ridgemont Baby.” The 21-year-old dropped the track and its music video today (February 24th), debuting her first song of the new year. In “Ridgemont Baby,” Monaleo gets personal and showcases her pride in her self-made journey. On top of groovy beats, she raps, “ayy, rap shit saved me, devil tried to take me / Stood ten toes on my problems and did it bravely.” Throughout her bars, Monaleo gives specific accounts of her living situations growing up in Ridgemont.

One moment, she’s describing spraying roaches with Lysol, and then in the next, she depicts sharing a one-bedroom flat with her whole family. Even though Monaleo didn’t grow up with cable, she reflects “I had plenty time to work on my craft.” The “Miss U Already” rapper also notes how despite struggling in her childhood, she always dreamt big.

Monaleo’s “Ridgemont Baby” Gets Personal

In a 2022 interview with NME, the rising star reflected on transitioning her dreams into a reality. “You have these dreams and fantasies where you can visualize yourself doing something,” Monaleo said, “but when it starts to actually happen, it’s a surreal experience. I couldn’t believe it was happening, and as quickly as it was.” As her career as a rapper continues to expand, Monalo shares her hopes for the platform she’s built: “I’d like to be remembered as an artist that was fearless: someone who used her circumstances as a stepping stool to be a voice to the people who have gone through similar things.”

The music video for “Ridgemont Baby” captures the rapper driving around her hometown in a Rolls Royce. The video is well worth the watch and captures the essence of childhood dreams, so be sure to check it out above. As always, keep in touch with HNHH for the latest news in hip-hop.

Quotable Lyrics:

Every time a motherfucker see you doin’ good (Aw, baby)
They try to come and discredit everything that you’ve been done (Aw, baby)
Everything you’ve been through (Aw, baby)
Everything you’ve worked for
All the hard hours you put in (Aw, baby)
Wasn’t nobody there but me and me
I picked myself up (Aw, baby)
I wiped my own tears, me, n*gga

Janelle Monáe, Finneas, Tinashe, And More Share Support For Megan Thee Stallion Following Her Trial

Following a guilty verdict for Tory Lanez for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020, several fans have shown their support. As Megan was met with online vitriol over the course of the past two years, her supporters are celebrating a feat of justice. Also showing support are several of her peers and fellow musicians in the industry.

Fellow Houston rapper Monaleo took to Twitter to express her gratitude as Megan received justice, saying, “This is major for her and for every other black women who has been taunted for speaking up about abuse and violence against them.”

She followed up, urging people to “Believe black women the FIRST time around.”

Sharing a similar sentiment was singer Tinashe, who said, “Sending love and healing to
@theestallion #ProtectBlackWomen”

Singer and Glass Onion star Janelle Monáe also took time to send Megan “the (((biggest hug))) (((love))) & (((peace)))”

Rapper Baby Tate also was happy to hear the verdict, and expressed her wishes for Megan to find the peace she deserves.

“I can’t imagine the nightmare that this past two years has been for you @theestallion and I know that this verdict won’t erase that but I pray it helps you on your journey to finding peace and healing! We love you,” she said.

Singer, songwriter, and producer Finneas, who has previously spoken of his fandom for Megan, shared a short sentiment, “Megan thee stallion forever,” following the announcement of the verdict.

Fellow Texan Bobby Sessions, who previously collaborated with Meg on the Coming 2 America soundtrack cut “I’m A King,” celebrated Lanez’s guilty verdict, noting that “Megan is God’s Favorite.”

Monaleo Gets Emotional On New Song, “Miss U Already” Featuring NoCap

We’ve seen countless artists tragically taken from us too soon throughout 2022. The pain certainly hasn’t been easy to endure. However, it has inspired other creatives to pay tribute to their fallen friends in beautiful ways. Most recently, Monaleo did just that on her “Miss U Already” single.

Featuring NoCap, the emotional song finds the Houston native singing to someone close to her that lost their own life. Marking her most real release to date, she gets vulnerable about the stages of grief and mental health struggles that come along with them.

“Why / Know that you hate to see me cry / But I can’t shake this feeling / This can’t be part of healing,” Monaleo solemnly sings.

As the track goes on, we hear her express her inner rage. “F*ck the opposition cause they took you / Promise I’m stepping on them n*ggas in my new shoes,” she rhymes. “These n*ggas telling giving blues clues / Whatever we did I’m taking to the grave it’s me and you.”

As a press release notes, the 21-year-old specifically aims to comfort and uplift others in a similar situation with “Miss U Already.”

Other recent endeavours have seen Mona sharing her “Body Bag” rap single, as well as a remix of Chief Keef’s “Faneto.” The latter subsequently went viral on TikTok, only expanding her ever-growing fanbase.

She’s also been showing with titles like “Beating Down Yo Block,” “Suck It Up,” and the “We Not Humping” remix featuring Flo Milli.

Finally, stream Monaleo’s “Miss U Already” collab with NoCap on Spotify or Apple Music below. Afterward, share your thoughts on the emotional new single in the comments.
