Pi’erre Bourne Returns With Ethereal-Sounding EP “Grails”

Pi’erre Bourne is one of the best producers in the world right now. Overall, many got acquainted with Pi’erre thanks to his work with the likes of Playboi Carti. Bourne was all over Carti’s self-titled project. As many of you know, this project was filled with ethereal-sounding beats that were impossible not to get stuck in your head. Subsequently, Pi’erre continued to showcase his talent with the album Die Lit. His fame grew exponentially during this period, and it was clear that he had what it took to have a long career.

So far, Pi’erre Bourne has lived up to the hype. Additionally, he has maintained an impressive solo career. Projects like The Life Of Pierre 4 and The Life Of Pierre 5 showcased Bourne’s versatility as an artist. These projects featured hypnotic beats with some buttery smooth vocals over top. While he may not be a lyrical miracle type of guy, Pi’erre certainly knows how to catch a vibe and stay there. Now, he is set to perform at Coachella, and to help promote the performance, he has dropped a new 8-track EP called “Grails.”

Pi’erre Bourne Continues To Drop Gorgeous Beats

If you are a friend of Pi’erre Bourne, then you are most certainly going to enjoy this project. Overall, we get those same hypnotic beats that Pi’erre is known for. The melodies get stuck in your head very easily, while his vocal lines act as ear worms. From track 1 to track 8, Pi’erre gives you everything you would hope and want from him. Additionally, there are some great beat switches and transitions here. For a producer of his caliber, this is definitely to be expected.

As we said, these new songs will definitely be appreciated once he takes to the stage later this month. Hopefully, his fanbase will feel the same as we do. Let us know your thoughts on this new EP, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world.

Yung Bleu Enlists Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign, & Tink For New Album “Love Scars II”

Yung Bleu has had an incredible start to his career. The artist hailing from Alabama has been putting out some fantastic material. Overall, fans have already come to appreciate him for his mix of hip-hop and r&b. Although he leans on the r&b side, he can pretty well do it all. This versatility has allowed him to work with some of the biggest artists in the world. His talent has captured the attention of artists like H.E.R., as he was on her last album. Needless to say, these big looks have only grown his cache.

Subsequently, fans have been begging for some new music from Yung Bleu. After all, he has kept so busy with features that people have wanted him to drop off a new project. Luckily for fans, this new album came out today, and it features a total of 15 songs. Furthermore, the length of the album is a respectable 42 minutes, which is the perfect amount of music.

Yung Bleu Drops Something For The Summer

Upon opening up this album, you are met with some incredible guitar lines. The song “Casmigos Nights” is a very nice surprise as it starts the album off with a soft touch. Overall, it makes for a great track that sets the tone for everything else we are about to hear. Moreover, there are a few features on the project. These features include the likes of Chris Brown, Tink, and even Ty Dolla $ign. Throughout the entire project, Yung Bleu shows off superior songwriting chops, and overall, it is a great album.

NLE Choppa’s “Cottonwood 2” Album Is Here, Featuring Kevin Gates, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, And More

Another New Music Friday (April 14) is upon us, and though two of the biggest releases of the week came from female artists like Nicki Minaj and Doja Cat, we’ve got plenty of male entertainers to give flowers too as well today. Among them is NLE Choppa, whose follow-up to his 2019 project, Cottonwood, arrived on DSPs at midnight. On the original, 10-track effort, the Memphis native worked with just Blueface and Meek Mill, but this time around, his roster of collaborators has become considerably more impressive.

Of course, we’ve already heard Choppa work with 2Rare on their “DO IT AGAIN” single, and he came together with rap legend Lil Wayne on “AIN’T GONNA ANSWER” ahead of Cottonwood 2 as well. Aside from those, the release’s other singles include “MO UP FRONT,” “IN THE UK,” and “CHAMPIONS.” There was also “SLUT ME OUT,” which landed the 20-year-old in some hot water after dog walking Sukihana and Sexyy Red in the accompanying remix’s visual earlier this month.

NLE Choppa Shines in the “TALK DIFFERENT” Music Video

As for previously unheard joint efforts, the 22-track album boasts “COLD GAME” with Rick Ross, “ON GOD” featuring Queen Naija,” and “DISABILITY CHECKS” alongside Polo G and G Herbo. Other noteworthy guests tapped by Choppa are Duke Deuce, Kevin Gates, Fivio Foreign, Lola Brooke, and Modesty. We also hear some impressive solo work from the rising star on his latest release, including titles like “ALL I KNOW,” “PRETTY BROWN,” and “THUG IT OUT.”

Watch NLE Choppa’s “TALK DIFFERENT” visual on YouTube above, and check out his full Cottonwood 2 project on Spotify/Apple Music. Afterward, tell us which of the album’s various collaborative tracks is your favourite in the comments. Fly Anakin Drops New Album “Skinemaxxx (Side A)”

Fly Anakin has dropped his latest full-length effort, Skinemaxxx (Side A). The release comes a little over two months after he released the old-school lead single, “Blicky Bop.” The single release was accompanied by a trippy music video. In the video, Anakin raps on a 60s-inspired set with insane editing that makes the entire video look like a shroom trip. The rapper teased the album when he dropped the single. Now that it’s here, it certainly doesn’t disappoint.

The entire album is produced by Foisey, and features dreamy production reminiscent of the golden era of hip-hop. Jazzy basslines, brass, and keyboards all shine through in the instrumentals. Anakin flows effortlessly over the beats, with a flow that’s both aggressive and somehow calming. Skinemaxxx (Side A) is an exciting new album from one of the best rappers in the underground.

Anakin Carves Out His Own Niche

There are several standouts on the album, but the entire thing really deserves a listen. It showcases Anakin at his absolute best, and it’s the kind of album that makes you excited about underground rap again. He really feels like he’s in a class of his own, with a tone and flow that doesn’t really sound like anyone else out right now. He mixes the old school with the new school to create a truly unique experience.

One of the most memorable tracks from the album is Suppression. A flurry of jazzy drums, saxophones, and keyboards lay the scene. In the song, Anakin speaks about not being able to express himself and his mother’s struggle with drugs. “Told me I was way too loud / I start suppressing shit,” he raps on the song’s refrain, “Mama chose the rock over power / we got a deficit.” Have you checked out Anakin’s new album? Let us know what you think in the comment section.

Quotable Lyrics:

Bitch wanna talk finance, you should get to know me
Sticks in the car, we line dance with the blickies homie
Thinking ’bout my uncle, he the fool, he left niggas lonely
Not to glorify but this the school, we rooted for Tony

Millyz Unveils Highly-Anticipated “Blanco 6” Ft. Jadakiss, G Herbo & More

One of the most ferocious lyricists in the game right now is Millyz. The Massachussets-based MC has earned incredible praise through his penmanship alone. His freestyles have gone viral while artists, from Jadakiss to Kodak Black, have co-signed his releases. All of the momentum Millyz built positioned him to make a major splash in the rap game and he certainly isn’t taking any of it for granted. Over the past few weeks, he unleashed a handful of records in anticipation of his next studio album.

Millyz built a strong discography within his time in the game but it’s the Blanco series that made his name known to the masses. He released the first installment in 2018, boasting features from underground titans like Smoke DZA and Nino Man. However, each of the subsequent releases within this series showed him getting hungrier and better. Last year’s Blanco 5 found Millyz trading bars with the likes of Fivio Foreign, Dave East, Styles P, and more.

Millyz Unveils “Blanco 6”

After much anticipation, he returned this week with the sixth installment in the fan-favorite series. Blanco 6 includes 18 songs in total with a run time of 48 minutes. This time, Millyz builds on the chemistry he had with a few close collaborators. Jadakiss slides through on “Moon Roof,” followed by G Herbo on “Becoming.” Additionally, Dave East, Berner, Albee Al, Leaf Ward, and Sada James appear on the tracklist. Millyz razor sharp flow and street tales take center stage in this one with an even more refined sound.

As most fans celebrate the project’s release, Blanco 6 was subjected to a brief feud against Rae Sremmurd, who dropped Sremm 4 Life today, as well. The sample of Eminem’s “Stan” on “Tonight” led Slim Jxmmi to diss Millyz rendition on the record, largely because they also used the sample for Swae Lee’s heavily-teased, “Not So Bad (Lean’s Gone Cold).” It seems like water under the bridge between the two artists. Check out Millyz new project above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Daniel Caesar Taps Omar Apollo, Ty Dolla $ign, And Others For “NEVER ENOUGH” Album

While his debut album, Freudian, found sweeping success upon its arrival, Daniel Caesar’s second studio release, CASE STUDY 01, didn’t receive nearly as much support. As you may recall, this is chiefly due to the Canadian’s polarizing comments about race relations back in 2019, at which time he suggested that white people didn’t deserve the hate sometimes put onto them by the Black community. His career took a seriously strong hit as a result, though he’s coming back stronger than ever this New Music Friday (April 7) with his long-awaited NEVER ENOUGH project.

The 15-track release was led by singles such as “Do You Like Me?” “Let Me Go,” and more recently, “Valentina,” all of which find Caesar operating solo. However, the rest of the album boasts some impressive collaborators, such as Mustafa on “Toronto 2014,” serpentwithfeet on “Disillusioned,” and Ty Dolla $ign on “Homiesexual.” Additionally, the R&B crooner tapped Omar Apollo for “Buyer’s Remorse” following their previous work together on “Invincible.”

Daniel Caesar and Omar Apollo Reunite on “Buyer’s Remorse”

Reflecting on the making of NEVER ENOUGH with GRAMMY.com, Caeser shared, “I go into an album thinking I know what I’m gonna sing about or write about, and then ¾ of the way through the album, it always changes. Every time I pick a title starting an album, I know it’s gonna change, but I pick it so that I have a bearing. I can’t stick to a program, so I know it’s gonna tell me what it is. With songs, too, I learn about myself by writing.”

Mozzy Releases “Kollect Kall” EP Featuring YFN Lucci, Baby Money, And More

Mozzy keeps it moving, incarcerated or not. On Wednesday (April 4), the rapper dropped the first song on the tracklist of his latest EP. “Free All The Lifers” features Dave-O and Jay P Bangz as producers and sees the Sacramento-born rapper bring his usual intensity. He came out swinging, calling out would-be haters with lines like, “N*ggas on the internet begging to meet the reaper / I got all these screenshots of you begging me for a feature.” It’s a reminder that even when he’s in prison, the 35-year-old is not to be messed with.

Today, Mozzy dropped his appropriately titled new project, Kollect Kall. Though the effort is less than 15 minutes long, the “Real Ones” rapper manages to speak on a wide range of topics from personal relationships to industry woes and more. It is equal parts aggressive and emotional. Every track has its place on the EP, but the final cut, “Turn Your Back,” is a definite standout. The jazz-tinged instrumental swims with reverb-saturated saxophones and vocal samples. Mozzy raps about betrayals by people he thought he could trust. “If we was brothers like we thought, we coulda fixed that,” he says, “Instead of intervening and gettin’ between us, n*gga, sit back.”

Free Mozzy

The Oak Park native might get emotional on the EP, but he also gives plenty of warnings to those who would cross him. On “It’s Over,” he tells us that he’ll never be the one that hesitates to take a shot when he needs to. “I refuse to be the one to freeze wit the blammy, that’s on granny,” Mozzy lyricizes. “They prayin’ the judge do a n*gga scandalous, they can’t stand me.”

Less than a year ago, the rapper released his sixth solo studio album, Survivor’s Guilt. Unfortunately, Mozzy began his prison sentence directly after the project dropped. He was put away on gun charges in connection with a 2021 traffic stop. At the time, his car was searched, and police officers discovered a Glock 26 and 9 rounds of ammunition. Though the recording artist’s defense team argued that it was necessary for protection and requested a probation sentence, the rapper was sentenced to federal prison.

Given Mozzy’s track record of releasing several albums every year, it’s safe to say we likely won’t have to wait long to hear more from the Sacramento native. What do you think of Kollect Kall? Sound off in the comments, and check back later for more hip-hop news.

Kollect Kall Tracklist:

  1. FREE ALL THE LIFERS
  2. WE ACTIVE (feat. YFN Lucci)
  3. IT’S OVER
  4. EVERY NIGHT (with Baby Money)
  5. HOLE IN MY HEART (feat. E MOZZY & Celly Ru)
  6. TURN YOUR BACK

Rae Sremmurd Gear Up For Summer With “Sremm 4 Life” Album Featuring Young Thug & Future

Nearly five years after delivering 27 unforgettable tracks on their 2018 SR3MM album, Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee have finally returned with Sremm 4 Life. While their last effort saw the partners in rhyme team up with an incredible roster of collaborators, such as The Weeknd, Travis Scott, and Juicy J, this new release features just two hip-hop heavyweights. The first is Young Thug, who’s still behind bars awaiting his fate in the YSL RICO trial that’s seen plenty of foolish antics so far.

He appears on the project’s second track, “Royal Flush,” which is already earning plenty of praise across social media. The Chopsquad DJ and Mike WiLL Made-It-produced track finds Thugger getting his bars off on the first verse. “Pinstripes on my jeans, they designer cut / Black, red, and yellow bitches, I’m Jamaica’d up,” he cleverly rhymes. “Yellow strands from the land like I’m smokin’ Xans / Put Balenci’s on my ass, I got bags of cash.”

Young Thug Shows Out on Rae Sremmurd’s “Royal Flush”

Sremm 4 Life‘s only other guest appearance comes from Future, who joined the brothers on title seven, “Activate.” Prior to delivering the 14-track album today (April 7), RS teased fans with singles like “Torpedo” and “Tanisha (Pump That).” Additionally, they worked with rap diva Flo Milli on 2022’s “Community D**k,” though that didn’t wind up appearing on their album. Other tracks to come from Rae Sremmurd between LP’s three and four include “Denial,” “Finger Food” with Duke Deuce and Rolling Loud, and finally, “Sucka Or Sum,” which is surprisingly missing from their record’s lineup.

Stream Rae Sremmurd’s collaboration with Young Thug on “Royal Flush” on YouTube above, and check out their full Sremm 4 Life project on Spotify/Apple Music. Afterward, tell us which of the album’s two collabs you like best in the comments. For more release recommendations, make sure to check back on Saturday (April 8) for our Fire Emoji playlist update.

Blac Youngsta Comes Through With “Blac Sheep,” His Second Project Of The Year

Blac Youngsta’s been quietly ushering in a new chapter in his career. The rapper, who signed to Yo Gotti’s CMG imprint, hasn’t necessarily had the streets lit with his antics over the past year. Instead, he’s put his pen to work and kept a consistent stream of music. Blac Youngsta lit up 2022 with the release of 4LIFE, a 23-song effort that found him trading bars with Yo Gotti, 42 Dugg, and more. However, he clearly had more heat in the stash that he prepared to drop in ‘23.

Though we’re only four months into the new year, the “I’m Assuming” rapper proved that he’s not wasting a moment. In February, he released his follow-up to 4LIFE with Bank Appointment. The February release didn’t boast many features with the exception of 42 Dugg, Lil Migo, and Trapionn. The project was an excellent depiction of his gritty delivery and sound. An authentic depiction that captured his aggression, humor, and everything else that we’ve grown to love about Blac Youngsta.

Blac Youngsta Returns To The Fold With “Blac Sheep”

Nearly two months after his last release, the Memphis rapper returns with his new project Blac Sheep. The 13-song effort contains no features whatsoever but it’s another unadulterated look into Blac Youngsta’s creativity. Records like “Freaky” and “Alleged” are equally as fun as they are menacing while Youngsta aggressively dives into sexcapades and street politics. Overall, Blac Youngsta is bringing fans exactly what they want on Blac Sheep. Youngsta fully gravitates towards real guttural, heavy production that pull his energy out with each bar. It’s another exceptional release from Youngsta, though we suspect he has more in the chamber before the year closes.

When Youngsta announced the project, he previewed a few bars that capture the essence of his new project. “I’m praying to god he can finally forgive me for my sins, I’m the Blac Sheep of my family,” he wrote. “If you are too then you my twin.” Hopefully, this won’t be the last release from Blac Youngsta this year. Press play on his new project above and sound off with your thoughts in the comment section below.

Gucci Mane Releases “1017 Up Next EP” As He Looks For New Artists To Sign

Gucci Mane’s looking to expand the 1017 roster even further. Though he built the label up within the past two years, several artists signed to him have been either incarcerated or passed away. Foogiano and Pooh Shiesty remain behind bars while Memphis’ own Big Scarr tragically died from a drug overdose in late 2022. Though many have noticed a pattern among those who ink a deal with Gucci, he isn’t allowing the public narrative to prevent new artists from joining the roster.

This morning, Gucci Mane debuted three new songs as part of the 1017 Up Next EP. “Dropboy Freestyle,” “CEO Flow Freestyle” and “Droptopwop Freestyle” appeared on DSPs this morning, along with an open verse on each song. The rapper invited up-and-coming talent to tackle the records with a 16 and share it on social media platforms with the hashtag #1017UpNext. He explained that he and his team will scour through Instagram so they could find the next big star to sign to the label.

Gucci Mane Seeks New Talent

The release of the three-song pack comes shortly after he joined forces with 21 Savage and DaBaby for “06 Gucci.” Though he’s released a handful of records prior to that, including the Kodak Black-assisted “King Snipe,” the release of 1017 Up Next also prepares Wop for his next studio album. He explained that whoever comes through with the best verse will not only land a deal with his label but will also, a feature on Wop’s new album, which is due out on October 17th, 2023. Hopefully, it won’t be long until they find the next 1017 Millionaire.

Besides Gucci’s professional ventures, 2023 is already turning out to be a great year for the 1017 boss. In February, he and his wife Keyshia Ka’oir welcomed their second child together. Iceland Davis was born on Feb. 8th, 2023, which the couple celebrated on their respective Instagram pages. “Im so thankful that my baby girl is here and she so pretty and healthy 2/8/23 7lbs 2oz ICELAND DAVIS,” Wop wrote on Insta. Given that his son, Ice Davis, served as the executive producer on Ice Daddy, perhaps the same will happen with his newborn daughter.
