Rae Sremmurd Recruit Young Thug For The Petty ‘Royal Flush’ On ‘Sremm 4 Life’

Rae Sremmurd‘s new album Sremm 4 Life is out now. Though it’s not as laden with collaborations as their records usually are, the LP does feature two exciting artists: Future and Young Thug.

Young Thug’s feature is on the petty anthem “Royal Flush.” It immediately starts off with fiery resentment: “Leave me on read, you must be out of yo’ head / Leave me for dead, you must be out of yo’ head,” Swae Lee deadpans.

Last year, the duo teased this new record in interviews. “We’ve got to give them something new, man. As an artist, it’s hard to be yourself, and I feel like with this album, it was like we’re not following a trend,” Slim Jxmmi told GQ. “We want set the tone.”

In January, they kicked off the year by unveiling the song “Sucka Or Sum,” getting fans excited for their comeback. They announced Sremm 4 Life shortly after. They shared the single “Tanisha (Pump That)” just last month, which was produced by Mike Will Made-It as well as Pharrell Williams.

Rae Sremmurd Gear Up For Summer With “Sremm 4 Life” Album Featuring Young Thug & Future

Nearly five years after delivering 27 unforgettable tracks on their 2018 SR3MM album, Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee have finally returned with Sremm 4 Life. While their last effort saw the partners in rhyme team up with an incredible roster of collaborators, such as The Weeknd, Travis Scott, and Juicy J, this new release features just two hip-hop heavyweights. The first is Young Thug, who’s still behind bars awaiting his fate in the YSL RICO trial that’s seen plenty of foolish antics so far.

He appears on the project’s second track, “Royal Flush,” which is already earning plenty of praise across social media. The Chopsquad DJ and Mike WiLL Made-It-produced track finds Thugger getting his bars off on the first verse. “Pinstripes on my jeans, they designer cut / Black, red, and yellow bitches, I’m Jamaica’d up,” he cleverly rhymes. “Yellow strands from the land like I’m smokin’ Xans / Put Balenci’s on my ass, I got bags of cash.”

Young Thug Shows Out on Rae Sremmurd’s “Royal Flush”

Sremm 4 Life‘s only other guest appearance comes from Future, who joined the brothers on title seven, “Activate.” Prior to delivering the 14-track album today (April 7), RS teased fans with singles like “Torpedo” and “Tanisha (Pump That).” Additionally, they worked with rap diva Flo Milli on 2022’s “Community D**k,” though that didn’t wind up appearing on their album. Other tracks to come from Rae Sremmurd between LP’s three and four include “Denial,” “Finger Food” with Duke Deuce and Rolling Loud, and finally, “Sucka Or Sum,” which is surprisingly missing from their record’s lineup.

Rae Sremmurd Sees Somebody They Like On ‘Tanisha (Pump That)’ From Their Upcoming Album ‘Sremm 4 Life’

Rae Sremmurd, the brotherly rap duo from Tupelo, Mississippi, is back with another new single from their newly announced album, Sremm 4 Life. It’s called “Tanisha (Pump That),” and it’s an upbeat, pulsating club song — think the Miami bass-style R&B of Ghost Town DJs’ “My Boo” — and finds the Brown boys admiring a special young lady at the function and encouraging her to “poke it out” before offering to “take you on a private vacation.”

The song is produced by the Ear Drummers’ longtime collaborator Mike Will Made-It, who co-produced alongside veteran hitmaker Pharrell Williams. On Twitter, Mike Will promised that “Ear Drummer Summer is loading,” which is a welcome relief for those fans who’ve had to wait almost five years for a follow-up to Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi’s last album, 2018’s SR3MM.

Ahead of announcing the release date for Sremm 4 Life, the sibling act shared a string of singles that included “Denial,” “Torpedo,” and “Sucka Or Sum,” displaying their usual well-worn chemistry. Earlier this week, they also showed off the album’s cover artwork, which continues their tradition of minimalist covers while updating it to show off their style.

Rae Sremmurd Rumored “Sremm 4 Life” Release Date Revealed

The wait is almost over and it seems like Sremm season is officially here as Rae Sremmurd revs up for their next album. It’s been roughly five years since the “No Type” duo delivered their last studio album, SremmLife 3. The project served as a triple-disc offering that offered a group project and two solo efforts from Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi respectively. In the time since the two have slowed down on their releases and maintained a rather low profile as fans anticipate their next move. However, they’ve provided several indications that they were hard at work on their next studio album.

In the last year, Rae Sremmurd has continued to build anticipation for their next project. They delivered a slew of singles including “Denial,” and “Community Dick” ft. Flo Milli.” By the end of 2022, they closed the year out with “Torpedo,” produced by Sonny Digital, and most recently, dropped off “Sucka Or Sum.” It seems that “Sucka Or Sum” was the last piece of promotional singles ahead of the release. These records undoubtedly held fans over, many simply hoped that the two would finalize a release date and provide us with new heat before the summer.
