Tony Yayo Calls French Montana A “Marketing Genius”

It goes without saying that French Montana has managed to do the impossible by making a name for himself and standing out in the hip-hop space. While plenty of this has to do with the hitmaker’s musical abilities, he also has his marketing skills to thank, according to Tony Yayo. During a recent conversation with VladTV, the NYC-born performer praised French for his talents, arguing that they’ve put him ahead of the pack.

“These are the marketing geniuses right here,” Tony Yayo begins in a clip from the interview. “So I’m always going to shout them out… French to me was always a marketing genius. He always was kind of smart… he was always just kind of ahead of his time.”

Tony Yayo Thinks French Montana Was “Ahead Of His Time”

While he may have been ahead of his time, French Montana hasn’t been able to dodge criticism following the release of his latest project, Mac & Cheese 5. The performer received some pushback from fans for dropping various versions of the mixtape on streaming services, including one massive 126-track edition, which features the tracks from all versions combined. He even faced fraud allegations, after various listeners came forward claiming their pre-ordered vinyl copies of the record were shipped to incorrect addresses.

Ultimately, the project ended up debuting well below what was previously projected. Despite the backlash, he stands by the release, including the controversial 126-track edition. In a message shared with social media followers late last month, French called the decision nothing but “simple science,” and compared himself to the likes of City Girls’ JT and even Taylor Swift. What do you think of Tony Yayo’s recent praise for French Montana? Do you agree that the Morocco-born performer is a “marketing genius” as he says? Sha Money XL Downplays His Feud With 50 Cent: “What Did I Do To You?”

Sha Money XL says that he and 50 Cent have no real beef and that the “so-called” feud is just a marketing tacket by the G-Unit leader. He discussed his relationship with 50 Cent during a recent interview with Ray Daniels on The Gauds Show.

“What did I do to you? Did I steal? Did I rob? What did I do?” he said on the podcast. “I got you this money, bro. I was one of those foundational people. So, just say, ‘yo, good look for that, bro. Let’s just let it go.’ You ain’t even gotta say sorry, bro! But let it go. I don’t want to work for you. I might make a good record for you, though.”

It’s not the only time Sha Money has spoken about working with 50 Cent as of late. Back in June, he reflected on the making of the rapper’s “Back Down” track, revealing that 50 originally intended to diss several more artists including Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff, JAY-Z, R. Kelly, Nas, Cam’ron, and others. In the end, he only dissed Ja Rule and Murder Inc. on the song. “That sh*t was blackdown, he was going black on that, blacking out, bro. Whylin’ on these motherf*ckas,” Sha Money XL said in Diverse Mentality‘s documentary on 50’s iconic debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin’.

He continued: “The sh*t he was saying, it was like, ‘Bro, you can’t say that, what you doing? Yo, come on, Nas is still the homie.’ But he wanted to take everybody, man. It was like, ‘You can’t go after the God, bro.’ Everybody’s getting it. Cam, everybody. Back the f*ck down. And that sh*t was well-received, man. That sh*t was hard as f*ck.” Check out Sha Money’s latest comments on 50 Cent above. They come after he dropped his new project, Message to the Streets, last week.

Russ Wants To Troll Fans & The Industry By Faking His Streams To Make A Point

To no one’s surprise, Russ has a bone to pick with the music industry and streaming- and that’s not a jab at him. Moreover, the SANTIAGO rapper has often been very outspoken about his thoughts on these institutions, and there’s certainly a lot to comment on and complain about. His latest target, focused on via Twitter, is the advent of fake streams to boost a song or album’s profile. Apparently, the 30-year-old is so sick of trying to beat them that he wants to join other artists in that crusade, at least jokingly. Not only that, but he thinks it would make a point and is just a tool to promote yourself at the end of the day, as heinous as it may sound.

“Real s**t I’m boutta start faking my streams like everyone else,” Russ tweeted on Thursday (September 14). “It’s marketing when you think about it. General person is a sheep.. if you see a song has let’s say 100m streams and you haven’t heard it, you think ‘damn I’m tripping I needa go peep.’ And then the fake streams get you real streams. Such a ridiculous game but f**k it, maybe I’ll film the whole process and drop a doc after.”

Another recent industry question that the Atlanta MC brought up recently concerns first week sales. These have to do specifically with Burna Boy’s latest album, I Told Them…, and how close-minded people are when considering these numbers. “Burna Boy is doin 21k (in America) and sellin out arenas in America as well. How come artists who sell more than that (in America) aren’t doing arenas (in America) ?” Russ inquired on Instagram. “Take a wild guess [crying-laughing emoji].”

Meanwhile, he also recently alleged that Billboard disqualified album sales of his own. “Billboard & Luminate took away ANOTHER 4,000 of my REAL sales over the weekend,” he wrote on Twitter. “Making that 10,000 sales total they took away from me. [They allow] major labels to fake their streams and sales and do monopolistic merch bundles. Only major labels are allowed to do merch bundles because the only approved vendor is a major label vendor. These numbers and charts are made up. The impact however is not. Shoutout to the fans.” We’ll see what else the artist targets when it comes to the music industry. Considering that, log back into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Russ.

Lena The Plug TikTok Trend Dubbed “Genius Marketing” For Jason Luv Sex Tape

By now, those who are interested in watching Lena The Plug and Jason Luv’s sex tape have already done so (perhaps more than once). Still, efforts continue online to promote the X-rated film. Shortly after it went viral, Adam22’s wife admitted that she enjoyed her experience sleeping with another man. Around the same time, Luv gave an interview in which he essentially insulted the No Jumper host’s manhood. This obviously bruised Adam’s ego, based on his recent actions.

Since then, the trio’s relationship seems to be tainted. According to the controversial media personality, Lena is “mad as hell” that her co-star would openly discuss their intimate experience. Adam revealed earlier this month that there were plans for a threesome scene between him, his wife, and Jason. Now, however, that seems to be out of the picture. The 39-year-old previously blasted Antonio Brown for shooting his shot with The Plug. However, he did state that Adin Ross could be a “safe” choice for his partner’s next video.

As the discourse surrounding the explicit footage continues to die down, a new filter has been making rounds on TikTok that allows users to channel their inner Blacked star. “Guess who I’m shooting with today,” Lena asks in a snippet from a promotional clip of her sex tape. “It’s finally happening. Wow, he’s not ever gonna do that,” she adds with a laugh, giving content creators the opportunity to pose behind her and show off how they would handle the podcaster, given the opportunity.

While Lena The Plug continues to entertain us with her NSFW antics, Jason Luv is being called out within the streetwear community. According to a recent post from @FakeWatchBuster, the adult actor has quite a few fakes in his vast collection of watches. Diddy Launches New E-Commerce Market

Diddy’s new venture comes as he’s in an ongoing legal battle with a previous one. Spirits giant Diageo had been housing the rapper’s two marquee liquor brands for years until they recently separated. The split came as the result of a lawsuit where he alleged the company treated its partners differently based on race. The details of his lawsuit were recently released which features more specifics. Diddy reportedly warned Diageo before they released a watermelon vodka flavor that many felt was insensitive.

There’s even more ongoing trouble in Diddy’s life at the moment. Last month his son Justin Combs was arrested for driving under the influence in Beverly Hills. The incident started a feud between the rapper and Justin’s mother. She accused him of being a bad influence over Justin and also roped UCLA into the allegations. Earlier this month Justin was officially charged with two misdemeanors stemming from the incident. Diddy was trending on Twitter following the announcement as fans poured through his history in the public eye. What do you think of Diddy’s new e-commerce undertaking “Empower Global?” Let us know in the comment section below.
