Musk V Zuckerberg Receives Venue Offer From Italian Government

The saga of the MMA bout between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg continues to get ever weirder. It all began when Musk, while ranting about Zuckerberg on Twitter, challenged the Meta founder to a “cage match”. Zuckerberg almost immediately accepted the fight on Instagram.

Subsequently, Dana White of the UFC got involved to assure the internet that both men were “dead serious” about actually squaring off. Furthermore, it appeared that White was angling for the UFC to serve as the fight’s promotion. Meanwhile, training offers began to come in for both sides. Musk received offers from Andrew Tate, Dominick Cruz, and Georges St. Pierre, while Zuckerberg received an offer from Jon Jones.

Hype continued to climb, with former UFC mainstay Chael Sonnen claiming that the fight would headline UFC 300. Elsewhere, reality began to set in amongst the competitors. During a Twitter Spaces, Musk admitted that the fight could “go badly for him” given Zuckerberg’s very real dedication to martial arts and combat sports. Finally, the fight appeared to be dead when Musk announced that he was reconsidering the fight due to concerns from his mother. Despite this, a very unusual source has arisen to potentially revive the fight.

Italian Government Offer Colosseum As Musk-Zuckerberg Fight Venue

According to Musk on Twitter, and confirmed by TMZ, the fight could be going ahead at the Colosseum in Rome. Opened in 80AD under Emporer Titus, the Colosseum was the hub of sporting and cultural entertainment for the Roman Empire. It was the largest amphitheater in the ancient world and remains the largest amphitheater still in existence.

Per TMZ, Gennaro Sangiuliano, the Italian Minister of Culture, reportedly reached out to Zuckerberg earlier this week to offer the Colosseum as a fight venue. The UFC is now allegedly in discussions with the Ministry of Culture about the feasibility of the event.

However, as grand as the spectacle would be, it’s unlikely that the fight would actually happen inside the Colosseum. Due to it being nearly 2000 years old and protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1980, you can’t exactly turn into the setting for a pay-per-view. The maximum capacity is listed at a few hundred. Furthermore, the amount of work needed to make it fit to host, say, a landmark UFC event, would likely be prohibitively extensive. We’ll keep you updated on this story as it continues to unfold.

Rose Namajunas To Make Flyweight Debut In Paris

In actual MMA news, it was recently revealed that Rose Namajunas will be making her highly anticipated flyweight debut this September in Paris. First reported by MMA Junkie, Namajunas will face French fighter Manon Fiorot at UFC Fight Night Paris on September 2. Fiorot has reportedly wanted the Namajunas for some time but is only now getting the chance.

11-5 in her MMA career (9-4 in the UFC), Namajunas announced her intention to leave strawweight after a title fight loss to Carla Esparaza at UFC 274 in May 2022. Her flyweight debut pits her against ESPN‘s #3 fighter in the division, Fiorot. The French fighter (10-1, 5-0 UFC) has been steadily working her way up the division after debuting in January 2021. If she can continue to perform well, she will likely challenge the winner of the Grasso-Shevchenko rematch/triology.

There is a lot on the line with this fight. For Namajunas, a win would validate her division move and show that she is a force to be reckoned with across two divisions. With the retirement of Amanda Nunes earlier this year, there is currently a power vacuum in women’s MMA that Namajunas could potentially muscle her way into.

Chael Sonnen Makes Massive Claim On Zuckerberg Vs. Musk

Chael Sonnen is one of the greatest hypemen in MMA history. The former MMA star’s ability to sell a fight is on a level no other man can reach in the sport. Not even Conor McGregor has the chops to go head to head in a promo battle with the “American Gangster.” Which is why it might be hard to find out the truth in Sonnen’s interview with Ariel Helwani on Monday. During his appearance on Helwani’s show, Sonnen teased news on the potential matchup between Zuckerberg and Elon Musk.

Musk and Zuckerberg seemingly have found themselves in the middle of an interesting rumor. The two social media titans agreed to an MMA bout recently through Twitter. The back and forth quickly caught the attention of UFC President Dana White. White has stated that he has been in contact with the pair on setting up a bout. However, no official news from the UFC has been announced on a set bout. But on Monday, Sonnen gave the world some insight into the situation.

Fact Or Fiction With Chael Sonnen

In the clip above, Sonnen tells Helwani that Zuckerberg personally told him the fight is official. Sonnen claims that Zuckerberg and Musk have agreed to fight at UFC 300. The event is bound to be a star-studded affair. As the UFC has rolled out supercard events in the past with UFC 100 and UFC 200. Now UFC 300 could be headlined by a fight that nobody could have ever imagined. Whether or not Sonnen is telling the truth could be the tricky part. However, just throwing it out there that the matchup could take place at UFC 300 is a brilliant move by Sonnen.

If the potential fight ever becomes a reality, it makes perfect sense to be under the UFC umbrella. However, one would have to think that this bout would create the highest buy rate in UFC PPV history. Is the time for talk over? Will Musk and Zuckerberg actually meet inside the octagon? Who do you believe holds the edge in the contest? With so many questions left unanswered, let us know what you think in the comment section. Elon Musk Admits Mark Zuckberg Fight Could Go “Badly” For Him

Battle lines are being drawn in the cage fight between tech giants Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. Musk issued the challenge earlier this week, with the META founder quickly accepting. According to the UFC’s Dana White, both men are “dead serious” about taking part. Some logistical obstacles do remain, such as a date, location, and promotion. Furthermore, Musk is significantly heavier than Zuckerberg, as much as three weight classes higher per standard MMA division. Despite this, oddsmakers are giving Zuckerberg a significant advantage over his South African rival.

Meanwhile, big names from the MMA world are starting to throw out offers of help to post fighters. Embattled kickboxer and influencer Andrew Tate posted an offer to train Musk. This is due to Zuckerberg’s platforms banning him over his spreading of COVID misinformation. Meanwhile, UFC legend Jon Jones offered his services to Zuckerberg, after the two formed a friendship earlier this year. However, now Musk has spoken publicly about for the first time since issuing the challenge.

Joining Bloomberg reporter Ashley Vance on a Twitter space earlier this week, Musk was immediately asked about the fight against Zuckerberg. Vance pointed out that Zuckerberg is actively learning Brazilian jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, Muay Thai, wrestling, and boxing. After this preamble, Vance noted that the fight could “go badly” for Musk, who only enters with a height and weight advantage. “Yeah, that’s possible,” Musk conceded before saying that he’s still willing to try and that the fight “might still happen.” Musk has painted himself into a corner, unable to retract his challenge without looking like he’s running away from his tech rival.

In the meantime, Musk has also received a new offer of training. However, this one has a little more legitimacy than Tate, as it comes from UFC fighter Dominick Cruz. “I would coach and train Elon Musk in a heartbeat. I would start with him immediately. I’m a fan of that guy and the things that he’s doing for the world and the things that he stands for,” Cruz told TMZ. Cruz is 24-4 in his MMA career and a former bantamweight title holder. However, Cruz is also 2-3 in his last five fights and hasn’t held the division belt since 2016. If Musk and Zuck do fight, who do you think will win? Let us know in the comments.

Jon Jones Offers To Train With Mark Zuckerberg For Elon Musk Fight

Battle lines are being drawn in the cage fight between tech giants Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. Musk issued the challenge earlier this week, with the META founder quickly accepting. According to the UFC’s Dana White, both men are “dead serious” about taking part.

Meanwhile, kickboxer and influencer Andrew Tate stepped in with an offer to train Musk. This comes as a result of Tate being banned on all META-owned platforms due to his spreading of COVID misinformation. Now Zuckerberg is getting his own training offer, this one from UFC champion and MMA legend Jon Jones.

Jon Jones Says He’s “Team Zuck”

Jones tweeted out his support for Zuckerberg on June 23. Their friendship formed earlier this year, when Jones commented positively about a video of Zuck sparring in the metaverse with Alex Volkanovski. In return, Zuckerberg wished Jones luck in his upcoming title fight against Ciryl Gane.

Jones is one of the UFC’s most decorated fighters. 27-1 in his career, he currently holds the heavyweight division belt after forcing a first-round submission out of Gane. Before that, he spent nine years defending the light heavyweight title and forging a career as one of the faces of the promotion.

With the fight set to be a cage match, aka MMA, Jones’ training could be invaluable to shoring up the victory for Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg is already reportedly proficient in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but Jones’ tutelage could make him unstoppable. Zuckerberg is yet to publicly respond to the offer.

Jones Could Be Training Zuck And Fighting Fury

Musk v Zuckerberg is not the only headline fight that Jones could find himself involved in. According to reports, the UFC recently submitted a fight offer that would see him take on boxing champion Tyson Fury. The idea of a Fury v Jones fight came about after Joe Rogan suggested that Jones would dominate in a fight between the two juggernauts.

Fury responded with an expletive-laden video, calling out both Rogan and Jones. Furthermore, Fury is currently struggling to find people willing to fight him. WBC president Mauricio Sulaimán recently said that Fury was a “victim of his own success” and “He’s that good, people don’t want to fight him.”

Jones was quick to respond to Fury’s comments on Twitter. “Hey Tyson, it seem like Joe may have struck a nerve. I’ll admit there’s no one touching you in that ring right now, but let’s not let that confuse you with what would happen if you stepped foot in my cage. If you ever want to put some of those questions you got going on to rest, give Dana a call. I’ll help you out.”

Andrew Tate Offers To Train Elon Musk For Mark Zuckerberg Fight

In one of the more bizarre stories of the week, Elon Musk challenged tech rival Mark Zuckerberg to a cage fight. Zuckerberg promptly accepted, sparking the very real idea that the two tech giants could soon be squaring off.

Furthermore, according to the UFC’s Dana White, the two men are “dead serious” about fighting. It’s unclear if White is angling to get the UFC involved in the bout. Regardless, White believes the fight could become the most profitable bout ever staged.

There are some issues, however. According to their self-professed weights, Musk sits two to three weight classes higher, per standard MMA class definitions. Either Musk would need to cut or Zuckerberg bulk to make the fight manageable. Despite this, bookmakers currently back Zuckerberg. Per Oddspedia, Zuckerberg holds odds of -333 (Bet $3.33 to win $1.00) while Musk has odds of +220 (win $2.20 per $1.00 bet). Now another controversial figure has entered the story – Andrew Tate.

Tate Offers To Coach Musk

Andrew Tate initially rose to fame as a kickboxer, holding a 73-9 record in his professional career. However, Tate is better known as a male lifestyle influencer. Tate’s courses teach men how to make money by shunning women and compassion as evil distractions.

Additionally, Tate is a very vocal anti-vaxxer. This belief is what led him to enter the Musk v Zuck discussions. Tate was banned from all META-owned platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) for spreading COVID misinformation. He has apparently taken this personally, as he has cited it as the primary reason why Tahe wishes to train Musk for the fight against Zuckerberg.

However, this may be somewhat difficult to do, given recent developments in Tate’s legal troubles. Romanian officials have officially charged Tate, along with his brother, with rape and human trafficking. Tate has been held on house arrest for several months while prosecutors build a case against him.

While Elon Musk rarely fails to make the news, it’s just not just fight offers that have earned him the spotlight in recent months. Stories relating to his many tech companies have also dominated the news in 2023, rarely for positive reasons.

On April 20, the very public launch of SpaceX’s “Starship” went horribly wrong as engineers were forced to terminate the 77-minute mission after just 4 minutes. The mission, which was meant to demonstrate Starship’s ability to reach a low-Earth orbit, failed due to catastrophic engine failures.

More recently, amid the Titan submersible disaster, people have turned their attention to Musk’s wireless communication service, Starlink. Initial reports, based on OceanGate’s own social media, suggested that the submersible’s communications were powered by Starlink. This has since been debunked. However, it led a number of people to speculate as to whether Musk’s fight offer was a way to divert attention away from this theory.

Dana White Hypes Up Cage Fight Between Elon Musk And Mark Zuckerberg

Celebrity boxing matches have become all the rage in recent years However, the most recently announced fight is perhaps the most bizarre yet. Elon Musk challenged Mark Zuckerberg to a cage fight. Perhaps more bizarrely still, Zuckerberg agreed to the bout.

There is no love lost between the two tech giants. Zuckerberg, who already owns Facebook, is reportedly working on a Twitter competitor called Threads. The fight rhetoric came about as a result of a tweet spree from Musk. To many people’s surprise, Zuckerberg accepted the challenge, writing “Send Me Address” on his Instagram story.

While some have claimed that the move is way for Musk to divert headlines away from the connection between Starlink and the Titan submersible disaster, both men are “dead serious” about the fight according to the UFC’s Dana White. In fact, White appears to be all-in on the idea of the two duking it out in the cage.

White Speaks To Monetary Opportunity Of Musk-Zuckerberg Fight

On the sincerity of the fight, White, as mentioned, assured TMZ that both men were “dead serious” about taking part. Furthermore, White gushed about the monetary potential of a Musk v Zuck bout. “The biggest fight of all time was Floyd and Conor, I just think it triples that — it triples what that did, there’s no limit on what that thing can make.”

The potential for a record-breaking fight is certainly there, if not for the reasons White thinks. It’s likely that most viewers would be tuning in purely for the spectacle of two unhealthy white billionaires humiliating themselves while trying to prove that they are the alpha tech dog.

Furthermore, White’s insertion into the proceedings is likely an attempt to get UFC, the premier MMA promotion around, in on the action. While the UFC is not exactly wanting for money, this spectacle could be exactly the thing the promotion needs in light of Paul v. Diaz and Crawford v. Spence Jr.

UFC Going All In On Spectacle Fights

Musk v Zuck is not the only thing marquee fight that the UFC is angling for. There are also reports that a fight offer has been formally submitted to Tyson Fury by the promotion. That “hybrid fight” bout would pit Fury, one of the all-time greatest boxers against Jon Jones, the UFC superstar.

The idea of a Fury-Jones fight came about as a result of comments made by Joe Rogan. “You want to talk about who’s the baddest man on the planet?” Rogan asked. “If Jon Jones and Tyson Fury are locked into a room, I’m pushing all of my chips on black. [Fury] doesn’t have a fucking chance in hell of making it out of that room.”

As Fury gave an expletive-laden response to Rogan, Jones also got his shots in on the heavyweight champion. “Hey Tyson, it seems like Joe may have struck a nerve,” Jones said on Twitter. “I’ll admit there’s no one touching you in that ring right now, but let’s not let that confuse you with what would happen if you stepped foot in my cage.” Furthermore, Jones issued a challenge to Fury in a follow-up tweet. “If you ever want to put some of those questions you got going on to rest, give Dana a call. I’ll help you out.”

Elon Musk Challenges Mark Zuckerberg To A Cage Match

Elon Musk has been the head of Twitter for nearly eight months. As nearly the entire internet knows, it has not been the smoothest transition. However, Musk now faces competition from rival platforms. Bluesky, a platform involving former Twitter head Jack Dorsey, is gradually rolling out invitations. Additionally, Mark Zuckerberg is working on a competing service called Threads. Elon Musk responded to a post about Threads that criticized Zuckerberg’s past actions. In the response, he tweeted to express his willingness to engage in a fight with Zuckerberg. Surprisingly, Zuckerberg seemed to accept the challenge.

“I’m sure Earth can’t wait to be exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options,” tweeted Musk. He also lashed out at Zuckerberg’s claim of creating a “sane” version of Twitter. Another Twitter user reminded Musk that Zuckerberg is skilled in Jiu-jitsu. However, Musk seemed undeterred. Instead, he responded that he would be up for a cage match if Zuckerberg was interested. Whether or not it was a joke remains to be seen. Still, it’s likely he wasn’t expecting the response he got.

Could We See An Actual Cage Match Between Musk and Zuckerberg?

These days, Elon Musk is perhaps best known for his trolling on Twitter. However, it seems that Mark Zuckerberg is more than open to the idea of a physical fight. Zuckerberg’s response on his Instagram stories indicated that he was serious about the challenge. On the Instagram Story, he simply posted a screenshot of Musk’s tweet with the words “Send Me Address.” Of course, the press immediately wanted to verify whether or not the Meta founder was serious. Surprisingly, a spokesperson from Meta confirmed that the story speaks for itself without providing any further explanation.

Elon Musk’s physical stature is larger than the thin-framed Zuckerberg. However, Zuckerberg’s proficiency in Jiu-jitsu should not be underestimated. If the two were to actually participate in a match, there is no doubt that Zuckerberg would win. The ball is now in Musk’s court. However, he may follow a pattern similar to what happened with his involvement in Twitter. He will initially express interest and then attempt to back out for months. In the end, he will eventually participate and face unfavorable outcomes. What do you think of Musk’s challenge? Who would win in a cage match? Let us know in the comments!

Meta Announces Verified Subscription To Fight Against Frauds & Scams

Months after it was announced that Meta was laying off approximately 11,000 employees, Mark Zuckerberg is back with another controversial revelation. These days, social media platforms are doing all they can to keep your attention. Users are finding features being implemented and taken away each week. Now, it looks like Zuckerberg is taking notes from Elon Musk. He shared that Meta would be rolling out a new paid verification subscription service, which was met with mixed reactions.

For those that have been desiring a blue check mark next to their name, your time has come. According to multiple reports, Meta Verified will become available this week in Australia and New Zealand. Users will pay $11.99 per month, or $14.99 on iOS, and will also receive direct access to customer support.

Meta Hopes To Combat Imposter Accounts

A main objection to Meta is that connecting with anyone who works for the company is nearly impossible. Further, in the past, it would be celebrities who found themselves copied and duplicated by fraudsters looking to scam the unsuspecting. Daily, thousands of social media users fall victim to scams from people impersonating a celebrity. However, it isn’t just the famous who have fallen victim to these cons. Everyday people have also been hacked or their photos used un ruses.

“This new feature is about increasing authenticity and security across our services,” Zuckerberg also said about the new feature. In a press release, the company added: “To help up-and-coming creators grow their presence and build community faster, today Mark Zuckerberg announced that we’ll begin testing a new offering called Meta Verified, a subscription bundle on Instagram and Facebook that includes a verified badge that authenticates your account with government ID, proactive account protection, access to account support, and increased visibility and reach. We’re starting with a gradual test in Australia and New Zealand later this week to learn what’s most valuable, and we hope to bring Meta Verified to the rest of the world soon.”

Additionally, it seems that Meta will boost visibility for subscription creators in the comments sections and recommendations. They also claim that subscribers will have access to exclusive only content, but that has yet to be specified. Will you be signing up?

Mark Zuckerberg Announces Paid Service For Facebook & IG Similar To Twitter

Mark Zuckerberg says that Meta is launching a paid service for Facebook and Instagram, noticeably similar to the Twitter Blue service that Elon Musk recently went forth with. The subscription will cost $11.99 per month on web browsers or $14.99 per month on iOS. Zuckerberg made the announcement on his Instagram Story, on Sunday.

“Good morning and new product announcement: this week we’re starting to roll out Meta Verified — a subscription service that lets you verify your account with a government ID, get a blue badge, get extra impersonation protection against accounts claiming to be you, and get direct access to customer support. This new feature is about increasing authenticity and security across our services. Meta Verified starts at $11.99 / month on web or $14.99 / month on iOS. We’ll be rolling out in Australia and New Zealand this week and more countries soon.”

Mark Zuckerberg’s Announcement

A spokesperson for Meta confirmed to CNN that the company will shift the emphasis of the blue badge to authenticity in order to verify more people. “We are evolving the meaning of the blue badge to focus on authenticity so we can expand verification access to more people,” the Meta spokesperson said. “We will display follower count in more places so people can distinguish which accounts are notable public figures among accounts that share the same name.”

Elon Musk launched a similar idea for Twitter back in December. While the service has undergone many changes since then, it costs $11 a month for iOS and Android subscribers. Discord, Reddit, and YouTube are other social media platforms to offer similar subscription-based features.

Unlike Twitter, Meta users looking for verification will have to submit government IDs and match them up to their own profile. This will hopefully prevent the spread of fake accounts posing as celebrities, as has been a problem on Musk’s site. Musk responded to the Meta news on Twitter, Sunday, while reacting to a meme that implied Zuckerberg is cheating off of Musk’s ideas. He also described the decision by Meta as “Inevitable.” Musk purchased Twitter for $44 billion, last year.
