Lil Uzi Vert’s latest Luv Is Rage 3 update offered fans some potentially disappointing, but possibly exciting news. After confirming that the album is on the way in early November, Uzi now says that the album will be the rapper’s last, with an eyebrow-raising career change planned for the future.

In an interview with TMZ, Uzi explained why Luv Is Rage 3 will be their final album, saying, “I want to make music. I love making music but I don’t really wanna make music like that no more… I want to make women’s clothes. I’ve been working in my office in my house.”

Uzi’s interest in fashion is no surprise; in June, their album Pink Tape even featured a song with Nicki Minaj called “Endless Fashion.” Uzi teamed up with Nicki again on her album Pink Friday 2 for “Everybody,” reaffirming their chemistry is at its peak.

However, it’s been equally clear that the Philadelphia rapper has been feeling disillusioned with the music business, even going so far as disputing their inclusion on the Rolling Loud California 2024 lineup. They’ve since been replaced by Future and Metro Boomin.

They’ve been working on two separate projects, though which one is coming first has shifted back and forth. For a while, it seemed like Barter 16 would be the first follow-up. Uzi began working on the Young Thug-tributing album earlier this year. The admiration for Thugger clearly goes deep as Uzi worked with some of his frequent collaborators like London On Da Track and even recreated a famous Thug album cover for the project. Despite claims that the album has already been turned in to Uzi’s label, news on it has dried up.

Now fans are expecting LUV Is Rage 3 to be released first. That’s because Uzi has upped the teases in recent weeks as they’re clearly working on the project. They’ve previewed a few different songs recently on their Instagram story and Live. Recently, they shared a new song that had fans really excited because of what it interpolates. The new song features snippets of “7969 Santa” from Drake’s new album For All The Dogs. The specific portion sampled comes from Teezo Touchdown and features Uzi singing over it. The album also saw Uzi trying their hand at making music with a more rock-oriented style. Other tracks on the album feature metal bands Bring Me The Horizon and BABYMETAL as well as a cover of a song by legendary nu-metal band System Of A Down.

Ever since that album dropped, thought, Uzi has been teasing other projects coming soon. They spent months teasing a Young Thug-tributing project called Barter 16. Promotional tactics for the project included Lil Uzi showing up at public events dressed up as Young Thug and also working with frequent Thugger collaborators like London On Da Track. London was actually the executive producer of the album and tweeted months ago that the project had been turned in, though there hasn’t been a follow-up on it yet. During a recent show, Uzi tried to give fans another peek behind the curtain at their new music.

“As long as I got respect from y’all, that’s all that matters,” Lil Uzi Vert said. “You know how many people in this sh*t used me, disrespected me, that stole my whole style when I never gave a f*ck? As long as I got y’all, we gonna keep this sh*t going.”

On “NFL,” Uzi keeps their heart on lock, coping with pain and doing their best to avoid future heartache.

“Big body, I feel no pain, I just spiked my soda like I’m in NFL / B*tch don’t call my phone, you heard I’m doin’ well / I don’t give two Fs, like a Fendi belt,” they rap on the song’s chorus.

The song’s accompanying visual features Uzi living the rockstar life, as he goes on shopping sprees, performs for fans, and runs through an emotional minefield, rife with trippy special CGI effects.

It’s likely that the song will appear on Uzi’s upcoming album, which is thought to be the third installment in their Luv Is Rage album series. Uzi teased Luv Is Rage 3 during their set at Listen Out Melbourne 2023 when asked about the album by a fan.

Lil Uzi Vert’s The Pink Tape Tour isn’t set to kick off until next month. However, one of their pop-up performances revealed what the “Endless Fashion” rapper has in store for fans. During their set at Listen Out Melbourne 2023 on September 29, Lil Uzi Vert gave the crowd insight into their highly anticipated project, Luv Is Rage 3.

Days after rolling out their chart-topping album, The Pink Tape, Lil Uzi Vert shut down rumors that a deluxe album would be shared soon. Instead, Uzi confessed they would “drop a whole new album.” That album might be Luv Is Rage 3.

While onstage, a fan grabbed the musician’s attention, which prompted the confession. In the video clip captured by a concertgoer, Lil Uzi Vert can be heard saying, “Yeah! I’m about to drop ‘Luv Is Rage 3,’” in response to a fan in the crowd’s question.

Uzi added, “You know I only drop ‘Luv Is Rage’ when my heart is hurting. It’s about that time. But you know, right now, ”
