Lil Uzi Vert’s “Luv Is Rage 3” Album Is Coming Soon, They Promise At Concert

Rappers have been steadily releasing new music all year long, though it wasn’t until Lil Uzi Vert came through with their Pink Tape that the genre secured its first No. 1 album of 2023. On that, the Philly native collaborated with an impressive roster of artists, including Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, Don Toliver, and Bring Me The Horizon. Some creatives would take a lengthy break after delivering such an impressive feat, but LUV has remained focused on completing more gifts to share with their fans.

The “Just Wanna Rock” hitmaker’s main focus has been Barter 16, which we’re patiently waiting for to arrive on DSPs. Aside from that, they’ve also been hinting at a follow-up to 2017’s Luv Is Rage 2 for quite some time, though social media users are reluctant to believe the hype. Ahead of this week, Uzi confirmed during a live performance that the third installment in the beloved album series is in the works. As you may recall, the recording artist hinted in mid-summer that it would only be “a couple of months” before their work was ready for its big debut.

Lil Uzi Vert Has Plenty of Music On the Way

“Hey now, I’m ’bout to drop ‘Luv Is Rage 3’,” the entertainer declared in the video above. “You know I only drop ‘Luv Is Rage’ when my heart is hurting. It’s about that time,” they vulnerable admitted. While many fans are happily reacting to the news, others are speculating that it could be some time before the LP drops. “This ni**a is a boldface liar and I’m tired of it,” one Twitter user declared. “I can’t wait to look back on this video in a few months and caption it, ‘What was the point of this?’” another wrote.

Lil Uzi Vert has kept mostly quiet about Luv Is Rage 3 since this summer, but they’ve been regularly giving us updates on their Barter 16 project over the past few weeks. The project has already been turned in, and though a tentative release date was set earlier this month, it hasn’t landed on DSPs quite yet. Read what LUV has been saying about the highly anticipated LP at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Lil Uzi Vert Says “Luv Is Rage 3” Will Be Out In A “Couple Of Months”

As one Lil Uzi Vert album releases and a hype cycle ends, another rises from the ashes to take its place. Moreover, after the success and buzz around their latest and highly anticipated album Pink Tape, they are once again in project mode, teasing the release of Luv Is Rage 3. While we don’t know for sure when the series’ next installment will come out, Uzi at least gave us a bit of a hint to go off of. Considering the sheer breadth and variety found on Pink Tape, it wouldn’t be too shocking if the Philly superstar decided to take some significant time before their next release. However, when they dropped their last solo studio album Eternal Atake in 2020, they released two other full projects that year, so maybe this is just their standard strategy.

Furthermore, the “Fire Alarm” rapper was approached on camera recently and was asked when Luv Is Rage 3 would come out. “Oh yeah, that’s coming,” Lil Uzi Vert responded. “Um, not too long. Probably, like… Honestly, I know I usually be lying, but a couple of months.” Well, at least they’re being honest, given just how long fans waited for Pink Tape after much teasing.

Regardless, it was definitely worth it, as the 26-track behemoth is expected to land at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. Pink Tape reportedly sold about 165K album equivalent units in its first week, which makes it the highest hip-hop debut of the year so far. Sure, the numbers might not seem impressive when compared to other No. 1 hip-hop albums that released over the past few years. Still, context is everything, and plenty of factors worked in Lil Uzi Vert’s favor to apparently make it the first chart-topping rap project of the year.

As for Lil Uzi Vert’s announcement, they wrote on social media, “Get this 2 number one and I will drop the album y’all really looking for,” referencing the Pink Tape. They also added “Luv is rage 3” to their bio. Travis Scott has been teasing the long-awaited release of Utopia more and more in recent weeks. Finally, Drake confirmed that he’s working on a new album following the release of his new poetry book, Titles Ruin Everything. The project is seemingly titled For All the Dogs. Check out Tjay’s tweets below.

It Looks Like Lil Uzi Vert Is Already Teasing ‘LUV Is Rage 3,’ Just Days After Releasing ‘Pink Tape’

Shortly after the release of the long-awaited Pink Tape, Lil Uzi Vert has already begun teasing another upcoming album. Uzi previously noted that Pink Tape would not be getting a deluxe edition — breaking tradition with many recent new releases — and that they would instead put out a whole new album. This is similar to what they did in 2020 with Eternal Atake, whose “deluxe edition” turned out to be a completely different album titled LUV Vs. The World 2.

It seems Uzi is starting a new tradition because they have changed their Instagram bio to read “Luv is rage 3,” suggesting another sequel to their 2015 debut mixtape is on the way. Considering how quickly Uzi turned around LUV Vs. The World 2 — which came out just a week after Eternal Atake — perhaps fans won’t have to wait very long to find out. Uzi first teased Luv Is Rage 3 in 2020, so they’ve had plenty of time to get it done. If Uzi continues in the same vein they did back in 2020, a potential Luv Is Rage 3 could have a completely different sound from Pink Tape.

This could be a good thing, depending on your feelings on Pink Tape‘s wild range of sounds, which included takes on 2000s Eurodance hits, a cover of System Of A Down’s resurgent signature hit, a collaboration with Travis Scott, and even a sample of WWE star Shinsuke Nakamura’s ring entrance music.

Lil Uzi Vert is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Lil Uzi Vert Teases Fans With “Luv Is Rage 3”

Lil Uzi Vert is easily one of the most popular artists in all of hip-hop right now. Overall, The Pink Tape is an example of this. Although the new project has proven to be extremely polarizing, there are people who are absolutely loving it. The mix of metal aesthetics is quite unique, and it really seems like Uzi was looking to showcase their love of alternative music. For instance, we get a System of a Down cover, as well as a feature from Bring Me The Horizon. All-in-all, it is an album full of diverse sounds.

With all of the anticipation for this project in mind, it should come as no surprise that the project is set to go number one. A hip-hop album has not gone number one in 2023. Although, this mostly has to do with the consistent success of Morgan Wallen. However, Uzi is projected to sell around 200K units, and that should be good enough for that top spot. Consequently, Uzi is now teasing a second release, as long as they reach that aforementioned number one spot.

Is Lil Uzi Vert Dropping Again?

Lil Uzi Vert did this back in 2020 with Eternal Atake. Just one week after that project’s release, they came through with Lil Uzi Vert Vs. The World Pt. 2. According to Uzi’s Instagram bio, it would see as though the potential second release would be Luv Is Rage 3. Of course, Uzi has not stated whether or not this project is actually coming. However, it is being teased in a very obvious way right now. Of course, Uzi released Luv Is Rage 2 back in 2017. For many, this is Uzi’s best project to date.

If Uzi does come through with Luv Is Rage 3, then you can just imagine how wild the reactions will be. That said, it remains to be seen if the sounds of this tape will be similar to that of The Pink Tape. Let us know if you’re excited for a second Uzi project, down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from around the music world.
