50 Cent Doesn’t Feel Good About Louisiana’s New Film Tax Cut

Damn, 50 Cent, your G-Unit Studios in Shreveport, Louisiana, promised to be the next big thing in Hollywood, what happened? The mogul’s new film empire may have endured an obstacle after the state announced plans to eliminate its film tax credit on Wednesday (Nov.13). The Louisiana House of Representatives voted to dismantle the state’s $150 million tax incentive program, threatening the film industry and the future of operations in Shreveport. 50 Cent fans on Instagram were encouraged to “stay positive” in several posts.

He captioned the first post with, “This doesn’t feel good, but it could be great for Louisiana. Patience—let’s see how it plays out.” A second post captioned: “I know people in Shreveport are sick right now, stay positive everything happens for a reason. I want to thank you for supporting me with Humor Harmony having zero violent crimes for 16 days, believe it or not that made that event one of my biggest accomplishments.” 50 Cent launched G-Unit Studios in April.

Is 50 Cent’s Louisiana Empire In Danger?

Shreveport’s Mayor Tom Arceneaux publicly discussed the loss of the tax credit and acknowledged the challenge ahead and the lack of immediate solutions. The removal of this funding threatens the city’s efforts to establish itself as a prominent Southern film hub—a status that 50 Cent’s recent investments had helped shape. 50 Cent’s involvement was set to bring Shreveport into the film industry spotlight.

The vote to eliminate the credit passed decisively at 87-12 and now heads to the State Senate and Governor’s desk. Without reinstatement, the state risks losing a unique opportunity for growth in entertainment. 50 Cent’s investments could bring major production and jobs to the region. The tax elimination may result in relocation. G-Unit Film and Television Studio was originally to be located in Houston, Texas. In October, he raised 500,000 for the Houston Children’s Charity. 50 holds an annual Tycoon Festival in Texas.

Mr Prada Allegedly Arrested In Connection To Baton Rouge Therapist’s Death

Earlier this week, Baton Rouge therapist William Abraham’s corpse was discovered on the side of the Tangipahoa Parish highway. The 69-year-old’s cause of death has not yet been confirmed. According to Sheriff Gerald Sticker, however, he had been brutally beaten. “It was a very physical scene for lack of better words,” he explained, per WBRZ. “There was a lot of blunt force trauma and a lot of injury to this individual.”

Shortly after the tragic news was confirmed, authorities released a photo of who they allege is the last person to drive Abraham’s car. This then prompted social media sleuths to theorize that the individual in the photo was allegedly Mr Prada, a 20-year-old TikTok personality. Today (October 2), local authorities confirmed that Mr Prada was arrested, according to WAFB.

Mr Prada Named Person Of Interest In William Abraham Case, According to WAFB

Reportedly, Mr Prada is facing charges of alleged aggravated criminal damage to property, resisting an officer, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. These charges are related to him allegedly fleeing from police during a traffic stop. His arrest warrant does not list any charges directly related to Abraham’s passing. “He was kind, loving, a gentle man and frankly not the kind of man that something like this would’ve happened to,” Abraham’s attorney says of the late therapist. “I’m absolutely devastated and completely surprised that something like that could’ve happened to a man who I believe to be so tender and so gentle and have such a service heart.”

Now, social media users are looking back on Mr Prada’s online activity. Some speculate that his previous posts could include signs he was struggling with his mental health. What do you think of TikTok personality Mr Prada getting arrested earlier today, according to WAFB? What about him allegedly being linked to the death of Baton Rouge therapist William Abraham? TikTok Star Mr Prada Allegedly Linked To Baton Rouge Therapist’s Passing

Earlier this week, authorities confirmed that the body of Baton Rouge therapist William Abraham was found wrapped in a tarp beside the Tangipahoa Parish highway. At the time, the 69-year-old’s cause of death had not been revealed. Sheriff Gerald Sticker later shared that he had been badly beaten. “It was a very physical scene for lack of better words,” he said, according to WBRZ. “There was a lot of blunt force trauma and a lot of injury to this individual.”

Reportedly, Abraham’s roommate claimed he left home on September 29 to clean his car and do paperwork at his office. Sadly, however, he never returned. The day after Abraham’s corpse was discovered, authorities shared a blurry image of who they allege is the last person to have driven Abraham’s car. This resulted in countless theories from social media users. One of them was that the man driving the car was allegedly 20-year-old TikTok personality Mr Prada.

He’s reportedly facing charges of alleged aggravated criminal damage to property, resisting an officer, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

“He was kind, loving, a gentle man and frankly not the kind of man that something like this would’ve happened to,” Abraham’s attorney Jarret Ambeau said of his client, according to WAFB. “I’m absolutely devastated and completely surprised that something like that could’ve happened to a man who I believe to be so tender and so gentle and have such a service heart.” What do you think of TikTok personality Mr Prada allegedly being linked to the investigation into therapist William Abraham’s passing? NBA YoungBoy Receives Sentence For Federal Gun Case

NBA YoungBoy is now heading to prison according to a new report from AllHipHop. This sentence stems from the ongoing federal gun case that was originally handed down to the prolific rapper back in Louisiana in 2020. If you remember, he was “indicted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm not registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record in 2021”. This case has been going on for quite some time and it was eventually transferred over to his most recent state of residence, Utah. That happened because NBA YoungBoy took a guilty plea deal back in mid to late August.

“I, defendant, have been informed that a Felony Indictment is pending against me in the above designated case. I wish to plead guilty to the offense charged, to consent to the disposition of the case in the District of Utah in which I am present, and to waive trial in the above captioned District”. Prior to the reveal of what his prison sentence would be, there were reports saying that he could’ve faced up to 10 years. Today, is an entirely different story, though.

YB’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, says that he’s receiving just 27 months behind bars in addition to five years of probation. That’s quite the far cry from the original predicition and there’s even a chance that stay could be shorter. “Global plea 27 months… will be out with credit time served in prob 12 months”, Cohen said. He also feels this because “the case in Utah is weak and the Federal case had all kinds of trouble”. Obviously, while going to prison is never ideal, this is as big of a win that the rapper could’ve gotten.

What are your thoughts on NBA YoungBoy getting 27 months behind bars for his federal gun case? How do you feel about him possibly being in prison for just 12 months? 50 Cent & Hurricane Chris Go Back & Forth Over Humor & Harmony Criticism

50 Cent has addressed the criticism Hurricane Chris directed his way regarding the lineup for his upcoming Humor & Harmony Festival in Louisiana. The “A Bay Bay” rapper argued 50 didn’t platform any local artists. 50 took to social media with a response on Sunday, which prompted more remarks from Chris

“Hurricane Flex boy ya sh*t is wack, the f*ck you think you @FredoBang [face with raised eye emoji] ya sh*t gets no play in my ride. LOL,” 50 wrote on X (formerly Twitter). In another post, he added: “oh no you not gonna play that 1 song you got, Bay Bay just went on stage wit Master P. LOL.” Chris eventually fired back in a video recorded in his car. “You big dummy, you just proved my point. You don’t know sh*t about the city,” he said, arguing his career is far bigger than just one hit song. He went on to call him a “culture vulture” who is using Louisiana for profit.

Chris made his initial criticism in lengthy rant, earlier in the day, arguing 50 pumped money into the police department instead of fellow artists. “You threw a motherf*cking concert in Louisiana and didn’t book no Louisiana legends and put no bankroll in any Louisiana legends’ pockets but you paid the police half a million dollars. What type of b*tch-ass sh*t is that?” Chris began. He continued: “N***a, you ain’t f*ckin’ with my city; you taking advantage of my city ’cause sh*t cheap and sh*t costs way less than where you from. And y’all stupid, slow motherf*ckas so crazy that y’all gon’ let this n***a come down here and not show no love to Louisiana.”

Fredo Bang Defends 50 Cent Amid Hurricane Chris’ Humor & Harmony Weekend Criticism

Earlier this month, 50 Cent hosted Humor & Harmony Weekend in Shreveport, but not everyone was pleased with the lineup. He got called out by Luenell last week, who criticized him for not including any female comedians. Fif fired back yesterday, claiming that if she hadn’t been booked and busy, he would have been interested in including her. Now, Hurricane Chris has weighed in, putting 50 Cent on blast for not highlighting more local artists.

The rapper noted how 50 Cent spent a whopping $500K on security for the event, and said that money could have been better used elsewhere. “That money could’ve went to help the motherf*cking youth,” he explains in a clip. “We don’t need more money invested into the police.”

Fredo Bang Calls Out Hurricane Chris For Humor & Harmony Weekend Comments

Unfortunately, it looks like one of the performers caught wind of Hurricane Chris’ comments, and hopped online to address them. In a clip, Louisiana-born artist Fredo Bang points out that he was there, and questions what Hurricane Chris was talking about. “Hurricane, if he didn’t put no Louisiana artists, Louisiana legends, who the f*ck I am then?” he asked. It doesn’t look like he was too offended by the mix-up, as he noted in his caption.

According to Hurricane Chris, however, Fredo Bang doesn’t count. He took to The Neighborhood Talk‘s comments section to clear things up earlier today. He says he was specifically referring to artists from Shreveport, and not from Louisiana as a whole. “Was about Shreveport not whole state,” he wrote simply. This tracks, as Fredo Bang hails from Baton Rouge. What do you think of 50 Cent continuing to receive backlash for Humor & Harmony Weekend? What about Fredo Bang coming to his defense earlier today? Cam’ron Claims Chicago And Louisiana Produce The Best Rap Lyricists

Cam’ron is from hip-hop’s Mecca. He grew up in Harlem, and spearheaded New York’s last great run in the 00s. Cam isn’t a lyrical miracle by any stretch of the imagination, but many assumed that he would have claimed NY when asked where the best rappers come from. No dice. The rapper talked about the concept of lyricism during a recent episode of It Is What It Is. Instead of showing the East Coast some love, Cam decided to single out Chicago and Louisiana. He did, however, back up his claim.

Cam’ron and Mase were talking about the Windy City, and the former took the opportunity to praise the city’s artists. “They may have the best lyricists,” he posited. “Them and Louisiana. I’m talking about, like as far as lyricism.” It was a hot take, but Cam was confident in what he said, and proceeded to point to the elitism the NY practiced back in the 80s and 90s. “New York used to call people country,” he stated, before citing Weezy as an example. “Even thinking about Lil Wayne. You get on a record with Lil Wayne, you gotta be careful,” Cam’ron asserted. “You get on a record with Eminem, you gotta be careful.”

Cam’ron Cites Lil Wayne And Eminem As Prime “Lyricists”

Lil Wayne hails from Louisiana, and Em comes from Detroit. The former supports Cam’ron’s thesis, the latter not so much. Still, the rapper doubled down. “These n**gas are really lyricists.” Cam’ron’s affinity for Weezy and Chicago artists makes sense given his track record. Dipset was early to the party when it came to recognizing Lil Wayne’s talent, and the group collaborated with him multiple times during pre-Tha Carter III days. Cam also worked with Kanye West when the Windy City producer was trying to establish himself as a rapper. He appeared on West’s second album, and West produced two stellar tracks on 2004’s Purple Haze.

Cam’ron has also been critical of New York in recent years. The rapper recently moved to Las Vegas, and cited the rat problem in NY as a major factor. “I just left New York. That sh*t was disgusting,” he told fans on Instagram Live. “I can’t do this sh*t… I’m not apologizing for it neither. I ain’t even gonna act like I’m sorry for it a little bit.” Cam’ron seems to be loving the desert, though. He attended a Vegas Fourth of July party, and turned heads by dressing up like his former podcast guest, OJ Simpson.

Cam’ron Makes Interesting Pick For Which City Has The Best Lyricists

Cam’ron says Chicago and Louisiana are the two best cities for lyricism when it comes to hip-hop. He shared his take during the latest episode of It Is What It Is with Mase. In doing so, he showed love to several artists including Lil Wayne, Eminem, and more.

“I lived in Chicago and they may have the best lyricists. Them and Louisiana,” Cam said. “I’m talking about as far as lyricists. We really take [it] for granted. New York used to call people ‘country’ in the ’80s and early ’90s. Even thinking about Lil Wayne. If you get on a record with Lil Wayne you gotta be careful. Lil Wayne will go crazy. If you go on a record with Eminem, you gotta be careful. These n****s are really lyricists …” From there, he brought up several Chicago artists including Twista and Yung Buk. He concluded: “I think Chicago artists are really, really underrated as far as rap is concerned.”

In other Cam’ron news, it’s not the first time he’s made headlines for his antics on It Is What It Is this week. During a previous episode, he stormed off the set after learning of Dwyane Wade’s new plans for a nail care brand. The former NBA star discussed how he uses nail polish to bond with his daughter during an appearance on the CBS Morning Show. “That’s the time that we get to connect,” he explained. “Me doing something that she loves and also that I love.”

50 Cent Pushing For Second Shreveport Development Following G-Unit Studios

In recent months, much of the news surrounding 50 Cent has been from his relentless Instagram trolling campaign. He was one of the first to start taking shots at Diddy last year when the first lawsuit against him filed by Cassie broke. Unsurprisingly, he’s continued his trolling throughout the controversial Lil Rod lawsuit and the rap mogul’s homes being raided. That campaign has included just about any “evidence” 50 can find including inmate recordings and AI-generated images. He’s also taken shots at almost anyone who comes up in the story, for which he’s been threatened with violence.

But now he’s trying to expand a different project he started last year. According to AllHipHop, he opened up G-Unit studios in Shreveport earlier this month following approval granted last year. Part of the celebration even included the town labeling it’s opening day, April 18, as 50 Cent day. “Through the expansion of G-Unit in Shreveport, my aim is to embody the spirit of conscious capitalism to focus on creating jobs, stimulating commerce and contributing to the economic growth of this vibrant community. I envision [making] Shreveport a beacon of the entertainment industry,” he said during the launch of the studio. Now he has even more ambitions for the area. Check out his newest plans below.

50 Cent Looking To Add To G-Unit Studio

His next proposal to the city centers around a sports and entertainment complex. He’s proposing turning the Expo Hall into the new G-Unit sponsored complex and has some ambitious goals for it. The pitch includes mentions of professional basketball outings, a variety of other sports including boxing and MMA lineups. But the center can also host concerts and a variety of expos and conventions. The same city council that approved the last building will also vote on this one.

What do you think of 50 Cent looking to expand his reach in Shreveport after opening G-Unit Studios earlier this month? Do you think the city will also approve a sports and entertainment complex? Let us know in the comment section below.

50 Cent Honored With His Own Day In Shreveport After Blockbuster Deal

50 Cent has become a business mogul first and a rapper second. He’s excelled in every business venture he’s embarked on, and his dealings with Shreveport have not been any different. 50 recently opened up G-Unit Film & TV Studios in the Louisiana town, and citizens responded by giving the rapper his own holiday. 50 was awarded a ceremonial key to the city by Mayor Tom Arceneaux on April 18, in an event that was attended by over 1,000 Shreveport citizens. The rapper assured the crowd that he will be giving back to the city, and projects will start production as soon as July.

50 had nothing but kind things to say about Shreveport, yet he remained focused on his business plan during his acceptance speech. “As someone who’s always believed in the transformative power of music, film and television,” he told the crowd. “I’m really excited to show you the expansion of film and television through G-Unit Studios right here in Shreveport.” The arrival of G-Unit Film & TV Studios could not have come at a better time for the city. The production company will attract talent to the area, create jobs for locals, and spark economic growth. 50 took questions from the crowd after the ceremony, and assured everyone that it will not take long for these positive changes to occur.

50 Cent Promises To Generate Jobs In Shreveport

The rapper claimed it would take less than five years for Shreveport to benefit. “It won’t take ten years, maybe like three,” he asserted. “I’ve experienced in other opportunities that people will be attracted and get involved and do other things around it. So you’ll see it move a lot faster. Not everything is going to be me but it’ll happen because they saw something and ask[ed].” These figures may seem ambitious, but 50 knows what he’s doing. G-Unit Film & TV Studios has become the second biggest black-owned production company in the world.

50 kept it professional, yet he couldn’t help but poke fun at Diddy on Instagram after the ceremony. He posted a photo of a woman carrying a sign that read: “Ratchet City but no Diddy!” and claimed it made him love Shreveport even more. “Shreveport is the vibe,” he wrote in the caption. “Louisiana state of mind.” Don’t worry, thought, 50 Cent the rapper is still active. He wished Dr. Dre a happy birthday on Instagram in February, and confirmed that the two of them are working on new music.

One thing’s for sure: Shreveport is going to be playing that new 50 at full volume when it drops.
