Megan The Stallion Lindsay Lohan Reference Cut From “Mean Girls” Digital Release

A reference to an infamous Lindsay Lohan insult has been removed from the digital release of Mean Girls. Megan Thee Stallion’s utterance of “fire crotch”, a reference to an early 2000s It Girl diss of Lohan, appeared in the theatrical cut of the film but has been removed from the digital release. Lohan expressed her dismay at the line’s inclusion when the film was released in theatres last month.

Tina Fey, who was responsible for the film’s script, did not address the controversy despite her long-standing relationship with Lohan. With the “fire crotch” line removed, Megan’s brief cameo dialogue ends with her simply saying “We going back to red.” The line had previously continued with the reference to “Y2K fire crotch”. This now creates the rare instance of a digital release and theatrical cut, something that doesn’t happen as often in 2024. Do you think the line should have been removed? Renee Rapp & Megan Thee Stallion Perform “Not My Fault” On Saturday Night Live

Meanwhile, late January saw Renee Rapp bring out Megan as part of her Saturday Night Live musical spot. The pair performed their collab “Not My Fault”, which they recorded for the Mean Girls remake. The film is not directly a remake of the 2004 film, but a blend of the original film and the wildly popular Broadway musical. As mentioned, Megan also made a brief cameo in the film, furthering her various acting exploits. Furthermore, Rapp also performed her track “Snow Angel”, from her album of the same name released last year.

Rapp also performed in a sketch during the episode, which aired January 20. The main host was Jakob Elodi, who is widely expected to earn an Oscar nod for his role as Elvis Presley in Priscilla. Actress Rachel McAdams also appeared in the episode, announcing one of Rapp’s performances.

A ‘Mean Girls’ Movie Musical Line That Left Lindsay Lohan ‘Very Hurt And Disappointed’ Has Been Removed

Did you know that Mean Girls is the second highest-grossing movie of 2024 so far, behind only Wonka? And that it’s number one among films released this year? (Wonka came out last December.) This goes to show a) it’s been a slow year for movies (save us, Dune: Part Two), and b) the Mean Girls movie musical exceeded expectations. It was also at the center of a mini-controversy involving the original film’s star, Lindsay Lohan. The actress’ representative said that she was “very hurt and disappointed” by a reference to the term “fire crotch” made by Megan Thee Stallion in the movie musical.

TMZ reports that the line has been removed from the digital version.

The rebooted flick — which is now a musical — finally hit VOD this week… so it’s available to rent on all your major players, Amazon and the like. The only difference this time around… Meg’s quote that pissed off LiLo in theaters is completely gone. Indeed… eagle-eyed fans noticed it right away as they started to stream the flick from home — the part where Megan Thee Stallion is supposed to say “Y2K fire crotch is back” has been edited out.

Megan’s line now ends with her saying “we are going back to red,” and cuts to the “Not My Fault” rapper laughing. This is like the Star Wars special editions, except instead of George Lucas adding a scene where Han Solo steps on Jabba the Hutt’s tail, it’s the Mean Girls musical removing a joke about fire crotches. Otherwise, practically identical.

Lindsay Lohan’s Dad Takes Shots At Megan Thee Stallion Over Planet Fitness Collab

Late last month Megan Thee Stallion introduced a new character as part of a brand collab. She transformed into Mother Fitness, who protects gym attendees from some of the most toxic parts of gym culture. It’s in collaboration with Planet Fitness, which has a history of celebrity collaborations. And earlier this week the father of a previous spokeswoman had something to say about Megan’s new character.

“I’m sorry, but you’re going to compare this… to this… in the “fitness” industry. Lol.. really?” a recent tweet made by Lindsay Lohan’s father Michael reads. The tweet is accompanied by pictures of Lindsay from her Planet Fitness commercials alongside Megan in the newest ones. Lohan famously worked with the brand as an ambassador and spokeswoman. Her most notable appearance came during a Super Bowl commercial that took aim at her controversial past in hilarious fashion. While she personally hasn’t said anything about Megan’s new campaign, her father took it upon himself to share his thoughts. Lindsay Lohan’s Dad Aims Fitness Tweet At Megan Thee Stallion

The tweet ended up being incredibly unpopular. Lohan’s father equating somebody being skinny to being healthy didn’t sit right with fans online. “Being skinny doesn’t mean you’re fit,” one of the highest upvoted comments on a repost of the tweet reads. Other commentors came through with jokes. “One was on drugs & one was on cornbread so of course,” one comment reads. “Comparing Kraft Mac & Cheese to baked Mac & Cheese is wild” another agrees.

Both Megan and Lindsay popped up at the premiere for the recent Mean Girls musical remake. Lindsay played the starring role in the original film while Megan is included on the soundtrack. Return to wearing pink on Wednesdays because the new musical edition of Mean Girls is just around the corner. In 2004, the Mark Waters-directed film stormed the globe and overtook pop culture. The movie starred Lindsay Lohan as Cady Heron, a coy teen who transfers to a new school after being raised in Africa. She clashes with The Plastics, led by Regina George, perfectly portrayed by Rachel McAdams. The cult classic is a fan-favorite that has been quoted and meme’d for two decades, and in just a few days, the next iteration of Mean Girls is set to arrive in theaters.

There have been several events leading up to the January 12 release of Mean Girls, but most recently, stars gathered for the New York City premiere. Last night, celebrities descended on New York City’s AMC in Lincoln Park to celebrate the upcoming musical. The red carpet hosted several familiar faces, including Tina Fey, who wrote the screenplay for both Mean Girls films. She was joined by Lindsay Lohan, who posed for photos alongside the new cast. This latest Mean Girls feature breeds flourishing talent with names like Reneé Rapp, Angourie Rice, Christopher Briney, and Auliʻi Cravalho.

As she typically does at such events, Megan Thee Stallion stole the attention in a purple gown pulled from the Julian Mendez costume gallery, reports Harper’s Bazaar. Some believe she gave a subtle nod to the recently released film The Color Purple in the Natalia Barzilai design. Further, the Grammy winner also posed alongside her collaborator, Reneé Rapp. The two collided on “Not My Fault” from the Mean Girls soundtrack.

After only just emerging back into the public eye as the spokesperson for Pepsi’s questionable concoction of milk and cola with the questionable nickname “Pilk,” Lindsay Lohan is in hot water with the SEC over pitching crypto without disclosing that she was paid for the endorsements. She’s also not alone. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lohan, Jake Paul, Kendra Lust, Soulja Boy, Ne-Yo, Lil Yachty, Akon, and Austin Mahone are all being charged in connection with their endorsements for TRON founder Justin Sun’s crypto companies.

“As alleged in the complaint, Sun and others used an age-old playbook to mislead and harm investors by first offering securities without complying with registration and disclosure requirements and then manipulating the market for those very securities,” said director of the SEC’s Division of Enforcement Gurbir S. Grewal. “At the same time, Sun paid celebrities with millions of social media followers to tout the unregistered offerings, while specifically directing that they not disclose their compensation. This is the very conduct that the federal securities laws were designed to protect against regardless of the labels Sun and others used.”

The celebrities charged, except Soulja Boy and Mahone, have agreed to pay $400,000 and effectively plead no contest to avoid admitting wrongdoing. This isn’t legal advice, but they should all probably fire whoever gave them the legal advice that it’s cool to do paid crypto promotion without telling people (and the SEC) that you got paid.

These cases are different than other celebrity-endorsed-crypto cases in the recent past, including the FTX investors suing their celebrity endorsers for allegedly making crypto investments seem safer than they are. For now, most involved in this crypto flim-flam can chug a warm glass of pilk and be glad it’s all over.
