Lil Wayne & Ludacris To Headline Kevin Hart’s Upcoming Festival

Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat Weekend is coming back to Las Vegas from August 29-September 1. Today, Billboard announced that on the music side, Lil Wayne and Ludacris will headline the weekend. Hart will be bringing the material from his Acting My Age comedy tour to the Resorts World Casino, and his set will bring the entire weekend to a close.

Kevin Hart held Hartbeat Weekend at Resorts World Casino last July. The event featured performances from J. Cole, Jack Harlow, and Ludacris, as well as the conclusion of Hart’s Reality Check tour, which was recorded for Peacock. Besides the music and comedy, Hartbeat Weekend features a celebrity poker tournament, with 50 celebrities picked by Hart himself.

“Hartbeat Weekend is all about celebrating the very best in comedy, culture, and music, and this year we’re taking it to a whole new level,” said Kevin Hart in a statement to Billboard. “I can’t wait for everyone to join us for a weekend packed with laughter, entertainment and unforgettable moments.” The venue Hartbeat Weekend is scheduled to take place at responded in kind. “We’re looking forward to welcoming Hartbeat Weekend back this year,” said Peter LaVoie, president of Resorts World Las Vegas. “We’ve enjoyed partnering with Kevin and his team on this iconic weekend and his shows in the theatre throughout the year. Hartbeat Weekend 2024 will be another incredible experience for our guests.”

Lil Wayne has performed several times this year. He was recently spotted reciting the lyrics to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” during a show in Vegas. Some fans interpreted it as a diss toward Lamar as he was also reciting lyrics to Drake’s “The Motto,” a song that also features Wayne, while wearing an OVO pendant. The Hot Boys are working on a reunion album. Though Juvenile claimed that all the original members were on it, Lil Wayne claimed ignorance. Ludacris was recently in the news after performing a free concert in Milwaukee when his show got canceled because of bad weather. Tickets for Hartbeat Weekend go on sale this Friday, July 19, at 10AM PST.

Lil Wayne Tried To Remix Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ In Favor Of Drake, But It Failed Miserably

At the height of Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s tussle on tracks, fans wondered where why Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj didn’t publicly chime in. Well, yesterday (July 13) after not uttering a word about the beef, Lil Wayne appeared to subtly shown his support for his Young Money Records mentee.

During a performance in Zouk Nightclub, one of the homes of his official Las Vegas residency, Lil Wayne remixed Kendrick Lamar’s diss track aimed at Drake, “Not Like Us.”

As Lil Wayne and Drake’s 2011 collaboration “The Motto” played in the background, Weezy held up his OVO chain as he rapped, “They not like us.” Although it was a kind gesture, users online have taken the act to be a subtle co-sign of Kendrick Lamar, given his reference of the pair’s one-time lovers’ triangle.

“Damn bro, even Wayne is mad at Drake,” penned one user.

“Oop well the Wayne info had to come from somewhere,” chimed another.

“That’s what Drake gets for sleeping with his girl,” declared another.

“Whaaat? Is he beefing with Drake too 😯,” asked one user.

“Not Wayne being an instigator 😭💀. Him and Ab Soul are trying to reignite the beef. I guess. LOL,” wrote one user.

The comment referred to the advice TDE rapper, Kendrick’s friend, and longtime collaborator Ab-Soul, publicly offered Drake.

The hype behind the track was supposed to fizzle out, but it appears it won’t be going anywhere, any time soon.

Surprisingly, Eminem Opens ‘The Death Of Slim Shady’ Defending Rather Than Offending Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, And More

Eminem’s twelfth studio album, The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), has arrived. However, anyone preparing to clutch their pearls at his latest round of raunchy, offensive humor might end up surprised. Rather than offending, Em opens the album defending fellow lyrical stalwarts like Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, and his protege Joyner Lucas.

On album intro “Renaissance,” Eminem opts for more of a tongue-in-cheek jab at haters of his lyrical brothers-in-rhyme — a move some might call a bit of a departure from his usual provocation.

Now just travel inside the mind of a hater
‘Cause I don’t see no fans, all I see’s a bunch of complainers
“Kendrick’s album was cool but it didn’t have any bangers”
“Wayne’s album or Ye’s, couldn’t tell you which one was lamer”
“Joyner’s album was corny, Shady’s new shit is way worse”
“Everything is either too tame or there’s too much anger”
“I didn’t like the beef so I hated Might Delete Later”
You nerdy pricks would find somethin’ wrong with 36 Chambers

Eminem first began teasing The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) on April Fools’ Day (although some fans would argue that he started much before that, in February), with a phony post about dropping a new album on streaming that turned out to just be his first album, Infinite. After putting an obituary for his trollish alter ego in a real newspaper, he dropped the first single, “Houdini,” at the end of May.

Once the ball was rolling, Em was all-in on promoting the new album, going as far as offing Slim in the video for “Tobey,” the second single featuring Big Sean and BabyTron, setting up a limited-run merch collection with White Castle, zipping Shady into a body bag on the album’s cover art, and even referencing the now inescapable “Hawk Tuah” girl meme in a promotional video in which he spits on Slim Shady’s grave.

The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) is out now via Shady Records/Aftermath/Interscope. You can find more info here.

[WATCH] Did Wayne Not Perform With The Hot Boys At Essence Festival Because Of Turk?

Screenshot 2024 07 11 at 3.43.40 PM

There’s no secret that there has been a lot of heat within the Hot Boys’ camp, specifically between formerly incarcerated members B.G., who was released from federal prison late last year and the group’s stand out star, Lil Wayne.

The Hot Boys were slated to perform at this year’;s Essence Festival, which also marks the 25th anniversary of “Back Dat Azz Up”, one of the group’s top 3 songs of all time. What was most noticeable to fans was Wayne’s absence from Essence, which was rumored due to former Hot Boy Turk not attending the event. What was supposed to be a Hot Boys reunion couldn’t happen without the all four of the original members present.

When asked by interviewer B-High how he felt about not performing at Essence Festival, Turk responded, “When I saw the set…when I saw everything coming and I saw them boys coming out, it was like a bittersweet moment because I’m supposed to be there. I can’t get excited about a place I’m not invited, but it was bittersweet.”

Lil Wayne Breaks Silence After Skipping Cash Money Reunion Show

Lil Wayne is the biggest star to come out of Cash Money bar none. Juvenile has classics, and Birdman rode coattails, but Weezy is the main attraction when it comes to the label’s legacy. His absence at the recent Cash Money reunion was deafeningly loud, as a result. The thing that made it worse is that Wayne was already at the Essence Festival, where the reunion took place. He simply refused to celebrated 30 years of Cash Money onstage. Instead, he waited and performed a solo set after the rest of his former label wrapped up their time.

Lil Wayne hopped on Instagram Live on July 7th to give his side of the story. Well, sort of. Instead of issuing an apology, or offering an excuse as to why he didn’t show up, he shared an anecdote. “Funny story,” the rapper explained. “I got hit up by somebody, somebody text me. I guess they had been at the show too long or something and they said, ‘You wrong. You know you should have came out. You’re wrong, Wayne. You had all these f*cking fans out here… didn’t come. You know you should have.’”

Lil Wayne Isn’t Involved With The Hot Boys Album

Weezy didn’t shut down the idea that he should have attended, but he didn’t take it seriously, either. He instead took a playful tone with the person who messaged him. “I’m like, ‘What you talking about?,” the rapper recalled while smiling. “The afterparty or something?’” Lil Wayne clearly did not have an interest in revisiting the past, but that doesn’t mean he has ill will towards the rest of the label. He didn’t mention Juvenile, Mannie Fresh, or B.G. by name but he did a general shout out to “all the artists that performed” at the Essence Festival.

Lil Wayne has always pleaded ignorance with regards to the rumored Hot Boys album. Hot Boys was the Cash Money group consisting of Lil Wayne, Juvenile, B.G. and Turk, and rumors have swirled for a few months that a comeback project is in the works. Let Weezy tell it, though, and he has no clue what’s happening with it. During a June appearance on the Not Just Football podcast, the rapper claimed he wasn’t involved at all. “Sh*t, you just told me,” he quipped. It’s a difficult time to be a Cash Money fan.

Lil Wayne Skipped The Cash Money Reunion To Opt For A Solo Set At Essence Festival 2024, Now People Have Questions

Welp, Birdman’s subtle suggestion that Drake would make a surprise appearance at Essence Festival 2024 didn’t pan out. Still, yesterday (July 5), attendees of the culture’s biggest annual event were treated to a special onstage reunion.

During the “Ms. Gladys” rapper’s performance, he brought out New Orleans’ hometown rap group, Hot Boys. The crowd cheered in excitement seeing B.G., Juvenile, and even Mannie Fresh together, the Cash Money reunion hype did not translate to viewers outside of The Big Easy. Mainly, due to Turk’s absence and Lil Wayne’s notable decision to appear after everyone left the stage. Now, users online have questions.

Lil Wayne and Birdman tension has long since documented in music, online, as well as in the courtroom. However, in recent time, the pair seemed to have squashed their previous issues. Rumors circulating online allege Wayne was present and ready to join the reunion, but not without Turk (whom reportedly isn’t in good standings with Birdman). Sadly, as a result, the Hot Boys reunion feel through.

Supporters are now under the impression that Birdman and Wayne’s former feud could be back on. Those flames were further fanned, when Birdman delivered a verbal jab before leaving the stage just before Wayne performed a medley of his hits. “I would never let my city down and be a p*ssy ass n**** for anybody,” he said.

So, it is too early to ask if Lil Wayne does headline the Superbowl 2025 Halftime show in New Orleans if the collection could put thing to the side?

Kendrick Lamar Fans Won’t Be Happy With Lil Wayne’s List Of The All-Time Best Rappers, Which Features Drake

Over the past few years, Lil Wayne has spent a lot of time thinking about who he considers to be the top five rappers of all time. In 2020, the list featured Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G., Noreaga, Cam’ron, and Missy Elliott. In January 2023, his list changed to include Jay-Z, Biggie, Missy, Goodie Mob, and UGK. That August, he again discussed the topic, and his top five remained the same.

Recently, though, he again spouted off a top-5 list, and there were some changes. Jay, Missy, and Biggie all remained, but two different acts made the list this time. Wayne said, “My top 5 rappers of all time are Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, Eminem, um… The Notorious B.I.G. — oh, and this is no specific order right here — and Drizzy.”

Notably, the updated list includes Drake, but not Kendrick Lamar, despite many people believing that Lamar came out on top of his recent feud with Drake. Given how flexible Wayne seems to be with his top 5, though, Kendrick could end up making the cut if you ask Wayne again in a few months.

Meanwhile, Drake and Kendrick are both keeping busy: Drake just dropped a couple new songs with Camila Cabello and Lamar is working on a “Not Like Us” video.

Beats Reintroduces Iconic Beats Pill Speaker with LeBron James and Lil Wayne

Beats by Dr. Dre (Beats) today announced the return of its iconic Beats Pill speaker, now available for order at $149.99 (US) on apple.com. To celebrate this highly anticipated relaunch, Beats enlisted global icon LeBron James and Grammy-winning artist Lil Wayne to star in the new campaign titled “The Predicament.”

In the entertaining spot, LeBron hosts a lively hotel gathering while Lil Wayne’s classic hit “A Milli” blasts in the background. The music disrupts Lil Wayne’s sleep in a neighboring room, leading him to confront the noise. Upon discovering the source of the commotion, Lil Wayne embraces the party, encouraging the music to be played even louder and joining in on the festivities.

“We’re excited to bring Beats Pill back to our portfolio,” said Chris Thorne, CMO at Beats. “There’s no better way to relaunch an iconic product than to team up with two icons that have been part of our family since Pill’s inception.”

“The Beats Pill has been a staple in the James household from day one,” said LeBron James. “It’s an iconic product, so it’s exciting to be part of its relaunch for a new generation.”

Completely reengineered and redesigned, the new Beats Pill boasts superior sound quality, enhanced portability, and an all-day battery life of up to 24 hours. It now features USB-C audio and charging, IP67 dust and water resistance, and native compatibility with both iOS and Android devices. These improvements make the Beats Pill the perfect companion for any occasion.

The new Beats Pill is available in three sleek colors—Matte Black, Statement Red, and Champagne Gold—and is priced at $149.99 (US). Fans can order the updated speaker starting today on apple.com. Lil Wayne & LeBron James Bring Great Humor To Beats Pill Commercial: Watch

Beats by Dre is revamping one of their top-selling products, the Beats Pill. This is quite a big decision for the iconic audio company, as the last time consumers received a new model was back in 2015 with the Beats Pill+. Then, in 2022, the Pill lineup was discontinued. However, the Apple subsidiary promises a sleeker and more crisp sounding platform this time around and it is going to be cheaper. According to Billboard, it will retail for $149.99, which is $50 less than the original from over a decade ago. If you want to get your hands on the improved speaker, it will hit the market on June 27 and is on presale right now.

Because the Pill is going through such a renaissance, why not reintroduce it with two of the biggest figures in pop culture. That is exactly what Beats by Dre decided to do, as LeBron James and Lil Wayne are here to usher in this new era for the product. If you remember, about a week ago, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar dropped a preview of the commercial titled “The Predicament”. In it, LBJ actual raps the correct lyrics (albeit the easiest ones) in “A Milli” by Weezy. Well, according to Uproxx, the time has come for the full advertisement, and it is quite hilarious.

Lil Wayne & LeBron Usher In The New Era For The Beats Pill

Bron and his wife Savannah are throwing a penthouse party late at night while Wayne is trying to sleep. But the improved sound quality from the Beats Pill is making it hard for the Louisiana rapper to do that. So, he decides to barge in and have a word with James. However, the NBA legend asks him, “Wouldn’t Lil Wayne want us to play Lil Wayne too loud?”. The latter agrees as the longtime pals jam out to “A Milli” through the night.

What are your thoughts on this new commercial for the new Beats Pill starring LeBron James and Lil Wayne? Is this one of the funnier ads that either star has been in, why or why not? Are you excited that Apple and Beats by Dre are reviving the iconic speaker? How do you feel about the price and ar you going to get one?
