Lil Nas X ‘Accidentally Fell In Love’ With A ‘Cute Homophobic Guy’ Who Protested His Concert

Lil Nas X knows how to handle every possible situation. So it wasn’t surprising that his response to angry conservatives protesting his Boston show on September 18 was funny—“just told my team to send them pizza, this is really good promo!” he posted. That wasn’t the end of it.

Today, he tweeted: “Can’t stop thinking about the cute homophobic guy that was protesting my concert last night. i just know we had a connection. i miss him so much man. i’m nothing without him.”

In a video posted to social media, the protestors were holding Christian-themed signs outside the concert venue (Fenway Park) and one of them was speaking about related topics into a microphone. The protestors didn’t seem to directly address Nas, but the timing and topic of their message — as well as the location, in front of the Ipswich Street Garage near where fans were lining up to get into the show — seemingly confirm they were there in opposition of the rapper.

Often Lil Nas X uses his humor to bring attention to issues. He shared a clip of him singing “F*ck BET” after criticizing their nomination choices for lack of representation: “This is about the bigger problem of homophobia in the black community. Y’all can sit and pretend all u want but imma risk it all for us.”

Lil Nas X Nods To The Viral ‘Period Ahh, Period Uhh’ TikTok Challenge With A Wild NSFW Comparison

About a month ago, TikTok user Britt Barbie shared a video detailing all the things she had gotten at a trip to Five Below, ending each description by saying, “period, ahh!” The clip proved to be extremely popular, so much so that Barbie capitalized and released a new song called “Period Ahh Period Uhh” a few days ago.

The song has actually taken off as a TikTok challenge, as Baby Tate, Chlöe, and Bebe Rexha have all since added their own unofficial verses to the track. Now, Lil Nas X has chimed in, too, not with his own verse, but with a Twitter joke, as he tends to do. This afternoon, he tweeted, “wow so y’all gone support the period ahh period uh girl but won’t support me suckin dick behind mcdonald’s on 12th street at 3:14am in a trench coat while glorilla plays in the background? oh ok.”

This comes shortly after Nas’ debut album Montero celebrated its one-year anniversary on September 17. He marked the occasion on Twitter by asking his fans, “BABY MONTERO turns 1 year old today! what’s y’all top 3?!!!” The joke here was that he made it so only people he mentioned in the tweet could reply to it (he mentioned nobody).

Lil Nas X Is Hilariously On Board With Christian Protestors Outside Of His Boston Concert

Lil Nas X launched his career with the relatively clean hit single “Old Town Road,” although the tune had kids around the world rapping about lean, boobies, and adultery for a solid few months. Since then, though, the rapper has embraced an edgier image, which has rubbed more conservative-minded folks the wrong way. A handful of them were seemingly speaking out about that outside of Nas’ Boston concert over the weekend, on Sunday, September 18.

A fan account for the rapper shared a video of a handful of people holding Christian-themed signs, with one of them speaking about related topics into a microphone, outside of Fenway Park, the concert venue. While the protestors didn’t seem to directly address Nas, the timing and topic of their message — as well as the location, in front of the Ipswich Street Garage near where fans were lining up to get into the show — all but confirms they were there in opposition of the rapper.

Nas was actually appreciative of this, though, as he shared the video and tweeted, “just told my team to send them pizza, this is really good promo!”

Fans shared additional photos and videos of the protestors, so find some of those below.

Lil Nas X Announces A New Single Coming This Fall

Lil Nas X has had an eventful year, and it appears he won’t be taking the gas off of the pedal anytime soon. The 23-year-old artist announced his next musical move on Saturday (September 17) afternoon.

In a tweet, the “Old Town Road” artist announced his next single “Star Walkin’” with a photo sporting a white wig and ruffled black jacket. The single is set to be released next Friday (September 23).

Though a date is not set, this is a quick follow-up after sharing “Late To Da Party (F*ck Bet)” featuring Young Thug back in June on the weekend that the 2022 BET Awards occurred. The Georgia artist was vocal about his disdain due to a lack of nominations when his album Montero performed very well.

Montero was led by its title track, “Industry Baby” featuring Jack Harlow, who advocated for the pop artist in his absence with a shirt, and many more tracks. As Lil Nas X looks to leave “Old Town Road” in his shadow, this may be the first effort towards successfully doing so. Of course, one could not forget the impact of “Panini” and “Rodeo” featuring Cardi B.

Lil Nas X Announces His New Song’s Release Date And Is Elected President Of ‘League Of Legends’

While on his Long Live Montero Tour for his Grammy-nominated debut album Montero, Lil Nas X previewed a new song for audiences called “Star Walkin’.” Little was known about the song or when it’d get an official release, but today, Nas announced its release date — along with a new partnership whose launch is timed to the release.

Nas is pretty well-known for his brand partnerships; in the three years since he became practically a household name, he’s teamed up with Wrangler, Grindr, Taco Bell, and M&Ms. Each time, he’s shown off his flair for the dramatic — for instance, Taco Bell made him Chief Impact Officer, a made-up but significant role expansion from when he first worked for the fast food chain.

His latest pairing will be with Riot Games, the creators of the popular video game League Of Legends. This time, he’ll take on another impressive-sounding role: President of League of Legends, which will involve “creating explosive musical moments, an ingenious League champion skin, and a spectacular live Worlds performance,” according to the press release. He’ll kick off the League Of Legends World Championship with a performance of “Star Walkin’” on September 29 in Mexico City, then debut a new skin he helped design for a new character in the game, K’Sante the Pride of Nazumah (say that five times fast).

This isn’t the first time Riot has collaborated with rappers. Like competitors/colleagues Epic Games (creators of Fortnite), they’ve incorporated hip-hop organically into their game’s world through creations like in-game band True Damage, made up of real performers, and recruiting JID to work with Imagine Dragons on the theme song for the League Netflix spin-off show Arcane. They even previously worked with Lil Nas X to create a hype video for one of the competing teams in last year’s Worlds.

Lil Nas X Vogued To Beyonce’s ‘Pure/Honey’ At His Tour Opener And Fans Couldn’t Get Enough Of It

When Beyonce released Renaissance at the end of July, a major talking point was how heavy it leaned into dance music. Many listeners stated that she would be instrumental in bringing back voguing, a dance style popular in the 1980s that evolved from the Harlem ballroom scene of the 1960s. Well, those people were right, but they may not have anticipated it being done on such a large stage as Lil Nas X commanded on the opening night of his Long Live Montero Tour.

In two separate videos shared on Twitter on Tuesday (September 6) and Wednesday (September 7), the “Industry Baby” artist can be seen vogueing to Beyonce’s “Pure/Honey.” One of those who tweeted captioned their video “Yall @lilnasx voguing to Pure/Honey was everything I didn’t know I needed.” The pop star wasn’t alone either, as his backup dancers joined in. The crowd erupted with excitement, singing along to the lyrics and encouraging the 23-year-old to “cut a rug,” as they would popularly say in the 1920s and 1930s.

Lil Nas X is a talented showman on his own, but infusing Beyonce songs and such a popular dance style into his set likely made that a night that attendees will never forget.

Lil Nas X Debuts A Brand-New Song On His First Long Live Montero Tour Date

It has been almost a year since Lil Nas X released his debut album Montero, which means it’s about time for some new music from the big MTV VMAs winner. Fortunately for fans at the first show on his Long Live Montero Tour in Detroit last night, it looks like he’s been in the studio. In addition to hits like “Call Me By Your Name” and “Industry Baby,” Lil Nas X also performed a new, unreleased song, reportedly titled “StarWalking” during his headlining set.

As you can see in the videos above, he also jumped off the stage to mingle with the audience, much to his crowd’s delight.

“StarWalking” probably won’t be the only new song he shares in the coming months. During a recent interview with Complex, he teased that he has “something very special coming really soon around the time of my tour starting” that he’s “super excited about music-wise.” He also promised “some unexpected things, collaborations coming up. I wouldn’t want to ruin those, though.”

No doubt, he’s keeping the well of inspiration flowing these days so he won’t have to “milk” a song like “Old Town Road” again, according to a response he gave to a fan about doing a bunch of “Call Me By Your Name” remixes. You can catch the tour as it continues through October 23 in San Francisco.

Lil Nas X Wants To ‘Smash’ Roger The ‘American Dad’ Alien

Lil Nas X has a new apple of his eye (or perhaps an existing one that he now has the opportunity to publicly yearn for): Roger, the wise-cracking alien from long-running animated series American Dad.

Yesterday, a post from the perspective of Roger shared on the American Dad Twitter and Instagram accounts read, “Save a horse, ride the guy who wrote Old Town Road or however the song goes. [cowboy emoji] Who else is planning their perfect fit for #Montero? #AmericanDad.” That captioned an image of Roger holding a Lil Nas X concert ticket and admiring a poster of the shirtless rapper.

Nas shared that and wrote, “i’ve finally peaked in life. i’m tryna bring roger backstage ngl [drooling emoji].” On the Instagram post, he wrote in three separate comments, “oh my god [crying emoji] [hearts emoji],” “pleaseeeee,” and, “roger please let me smash.”

Now is a great time for American Dad to be receiving this sort of attention, as yesterday (September 5), it just returned with its first new episode since March. The show, which debuted in 2005, is one of the longest-running scripted prime time television series in US history; The latest episode is the series’ 330th.

As for the Long Live Montero Tour, that kicks off tonight (September 6), so check out the dates here.
