LeBron James Bumps Drake To Celebrate Team USA Basketball’s Gold Medal Amid Beef Rumors

LeBron James and the rest of Team USA have much to celebrate these days thanks to their fifth-straight gold medal in men’s basketball at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. There have been a lot of clips of the players reacting to their win, celebrating together as a collective, and overall having a great time in the city. The latest clip that has people talking, though, is of all of them sitting out with champagne bottles, which LeBron was happy to shake and pop. However, the most curious detail out of the clip below for many fans, especially hip-hop listeners, was that they were playing Drake and Rick Ross’ track “Lord Knows” in the background.

Not only is this a sad reminder that Drizzy and Rozay aren’t cool anymore, but it also contributes to the ongoing saga of LeBron James’ alleged beef with the 6ix God, or perhaps vice versa. For those unaware, a lot of folks are interpreting Drake’s social media activity, as well as that of other OVO members like Chubbs, as sending shade LeBron’s way. The Canadian duo congratulated Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and Jayson Tatum collectively with no mention of the current Laker.

However, LeBron James did seem to dispel these rumors recently on social media by posting Drake’s sneaker online with an infinity emoji. Of course, that’s just on his behalf, as we didn’t really get any sort of affirmation from the Toronto superstar at press time: only mixed signals, interesting omissions, or possible shady responses. But folks might be wondering as to why this is even happening. Well, the most reasonable fan theory is that LeBron’s attendance at Kendrick Lamar’s “The Pop Out” concert, as well as his overall support of both K.Dot and The Boy during their rap battle and clips of him dancing to “Not Like Us” and rapping along to Kendrick’s diss tracks, rubbed Aubrey Graham the wrong way.

Regardless of whether LeBron James and Drake are actually beefing, people obsessively connected this to the Kendrick Lamar situation and set up the damage already. Whether or not you think there’s something going on or not, it’s clear that everyone involved is in a pretty tight spot when it comes to optics. Well, expect Kendrick, because he doesn’t care as much about that stuff. But at least the “It’s Up” MC has the support of folks like Steph through and through, as overblown and exaggerated as this Bron beef likely is.

Drake & Chubbs’ Posts About Team USA & Steph Curry Further Fuel LeBron James Beef Rumors

We don’t know how we got to caring about whether or not super famous men are salty with one another… But here we are after a rap beef that absolutely took over pop culture. Moreover, as a result of his Kendrick Lamar battle, you might have heard that Drake is allegedly beefing with LeBron James, or at least, that’s what a lot of social media-obsessed fans think even after LBJ himself seemed to dismiss these rumors. The reason? Well, those on the gossip train theorize that it’s because the basketball star attended K.Dot’s “The Pop Out” concert and basically supported his music but also had praise for Drizzy’s competitive efforts.

The latest piece of “evidence” concerning Drake and LeBron James’ alleged falling out comes after Team USA’s victory over France for the gold medal in men’s basketball for the 2024 Olympics, a game that went down on Saturday (August 10). The 6ix God took to his “plot twist” Finsta account, responsible for his 100 GIGS drop, to post a picture of longtime OVO fan Steph Curry hitting his signature “sleep” pose (sorry if there’s another name for it) during the game. Aubrey Graham’s bodyguard Chubbs, another player in the Kendrick Lamar battle, also omitted LeBron from his Instagram congratulations for the team, instead congratulating Steph, Kevin Durant, and Jayson Tatum.

Drake & Chubbs Have Fans Thinking They’re Shading LeBron James

While LeBron James’ own Instagram activity suggested that he has no issues with Drake, it’s still up in the air whether that’s a two-way street or not. Also, it’s curious because during a recent GQ Sports profile, Steph Curry made it clear that he’s still rocking with the MC who shouted him out on “0 To 100.” “I’m a big Drake guy,” he remarked. “I’ve been for a long time. I think obviously you know what it is for the rap industry to have that, but I still rock with Drake. Absolutely. Absolutely.”

Also, we know that Steph Curry and LeBron James feel very differently about Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” diss track against Drake. LeBron still loves it, and Steph is ready for the hype to end. Will this alleged beef ever clear up or will we never hear of it again? Time will tell…

Gunna Teases Unreleased Song & Vibes With LeBron James In Paris

About a month and a half ago, Gunna shared some insight as to what his intentions are for his next album. “I might do this love album. Not all love songs but just a pocket of songs that’s more intimate. I think that’s going to be the next album for me”, he told Spotify for their A Day In The Life series. There is no current timetable for when this will come to fruition, but fans are hoping its sooner than later. In fact, it just might be because Gunna was in Paris teasing a song with LeBron James in attendance. According to Kurrco, the rapping and NBA superstars were seen at some sort of event post the Olympic games. Perhaps it was after Team USA’s win over Puerto Rico in their final group stage game on Saturday.

Regardless, Gunna and LeBron James were clearly chopping it up and having a good time while in France. Down below, you can hear the snippet, and it sounds fire. It sounds braggadocious and atmospheric as per usual, so it appears that Gunna isn’t ready to tease any love cuts just yet. Overall, like the album, fans are wanting this unreleased record ASAP.

Gunna & LeBron Chop It Up

“Streets need that”, one user on X writes. Another makes a clever pun regarding Gunna’s past hits and to show that Bron is a big fan of the ATL MC, “🅿ebron”. Others are joking that it needs to drop, but only so the NBA legend can start practicing the words. “Bron gotta start learning the song so he know the lyrics when it drops”. Whenever this comes out, it will be the latest offering since his One of Wun tape. However, it will also come after a handful of high profile collabs with Offset and IDK.

What are your thoughts on Gunna’s potentially new song teaser? Do you think he’s got a new album in the works already? LeBron James Seemingly Responds To Drake Beef Speculation

Throughout Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s beef dozens of celebrities were reacting to the songs that came from it. Any time they were vibing to each artist’s disse, the fanbase of that rapper would claim them as their own. To be honest, all of that was a big stretch. Maybe that certain person just enjoys the song for what it is and not for who its dissing. However, there have been some cases where the opposite is true, too. As for the reaches, LeBron James was essentially shunned from Drake’s fanbase due to him supporting Lamar’s tracks and The Pop Out. Because of this, some people were actually running with the idea that James had been favoring the Compton kid.

Joe Budden was one of the ones entertaining it, doing so on his self-titled podcast. What got him intrigued in this “passive-aggressive LeBron-Drake beef” was the fact that the Canadian rapper was congratulating the Olympic athletes, but not James. “I know nobody is paying too much attention to it, but it is a real thing. It’s happening”, Budden urged. “Savannah might just really love that shirt, and I don’t speak about people’s wives, but she might just really love that shirt, brand, and Kendrick, and ain’t paying what y’all doing no mind. Maybe, maybe. But LeBron posing in the picture the way he did with her in the shirt tells me that he saw the Drake post… “They’ve been going back and forth since this ‘Not Like Us’ s***.’ And it’s interesting to me”.

LeBron Will Always Have Love For Drake

However, that all seems to be over with. LeBron has supposedly been listening to the chatter around his “fractured” relationship with The Boy and decided to post a pic on his IG Story. That photo is of Drake’s Air Force 1 collaborative sneaker that reads “Love you forever” on the midsole. The NBA vet then put the “♾” emoji underneath, symbolizing that their ties will never be broken. Of course, Drake’s stans got a hold of this on X and are calling him a “team switcher”.

What are your thoughts on LeBron James reposting Drake’s Air Force 1 sneaker on his IG Story amid their “beef”? Do you think they were ever at odds with one another, or was that the fanbase portraying it that way? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Joe Budden Speculates That LeBron And Savannah James Are Beefing With Drake

Joe Budden weighed in on the relationship between Drake and LeBron James during a recent episode of his podcast. In doing so, he noted a post Drake uploaded on Instagram congratulating Olympic athletics that didn’t include the NBA star.

“The passive-aggressive LeBron-Drake beef is interesting to me. I know nobody is paying too much attention to it, but it is a real thing. It’s happening,” Budden began. “Savannah might just really love that shirt, and I don’t speak about people’s wives, but she might just really love that shirt, brand, and Kendrick, and ain’t paying what y’all doing no mind. Maybe, maybe. But, LeBron posing in the picture the way he did with her in the shirt tells me that he saw the Drake post. The all the Olympians that was not LeBron. They’ve been going back and forth since this ‘Not Like Us’ sh*t.’ And, it’s interesting to me.” He concluded: “It might that been too many people paying this any attention, but there’s something with that friendship.”

When the clip made its way to X (formerly Twitter), fans had mixed responses to Budden’s take. “I’m just so confused as to why so many ppl don’t understand why Drake don’t f*ck wit him right now,” one fan remarked. “The man went to a concert and danced to a song calling him all types of sh*t when he was supposed to be his bro Foh.” Another user joked about Budden’s frequent coverage of the Toronto rapper: “Man I hope drake’s getting a cut from this show cause ain’t no way boy.” Check out Budden’s full conversation about Drake and LeBron below.

Joe Budden Discusses Drake & LeBron James

While Drake and LeBron were friends for years, fans began theorizing there was a rift in their relationship as the Los Angeles Lakers star supported Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” on social media, earlier this year. Eminem Mocks Drake And LeBron James’ Infamous “The Shop” Clip

Eminem channeled Drake and LeBron James during his appearance on Complex’s The Face-Off series, on Tuesday, to mock the infamous encounter between the two on HBO’s The Shop. Drake famously recalled texting the NBA legend about whether he had let him down, to which James remarked that he could never let him down. With his Face-Off appearance, Eminem went head to head with his alter ego, Slim Shady.

“Look man, did you text me after ‘awfully hot coffee pot’ or not?” Shady asks Eminem in the viral clip, referencing his 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards cypher. Fans have been sharing laughs about the joke on social media. “That Drake clip is still crazy to this day,” one user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote. Another remarked: “LeBron is only two years older than Drake bro this clip is crazy.” The interview comes as the Detroit rapper continues to promote his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)

Look man, nobody gives a f**k about your lyrical miracles you’re scaring the hoes. People wanna be entertained,” Shady tells Eminem at one point. He retorts: “So you think it’s entertaining to just be a d*ckhead and piss people off? Every other week on TikTok, Gen Z discovers you on Monday and cancels me on Tuesday. When’s the last time you took a shot at someone who wasn’t a pop star, a non-rapping celebrity, [or] f*cking marginalized communities?”

Paul Pierce Ridiculously Suggests He’s Responsible For LeBron James’ Greatness

Paul Pierce is a former NBA star who has had some very interesting hot takes over the years. Overall, he is consistently giving some opinions that make NBA fans do a double-take. This is especially true as it pertains to none other than LeBron James. LeBron and Pierce were rivals in the NBA, although more often than not, James came away on top. However, Pierce consistently denigrates LeBron’s career and will make it seem like four titles aren’t that impressive.

Today, Paul Pierce gave perhaps one of his wildest LeBron hot takes yet. During his recent appearance on Undisputed, Pierce made the case that he is the reason why LeBron James was able to enjoy so much success in the league. By his rationale, Pierce and the Celtics made LeBron want to elevate to another level. “I truly feel responsible for taking LeBron to that next level,” Pierce argued. As you can imagine, this has caused a bit of a stir on social media.

As for LeBron, he is about to enter his 22nd season in the NBA, and fans are excited to see what he does at the age of 40.

Andre 3000 Credits Jazz With Restoring His Passion For Music

Everybody wants Andre 3000 to rap. Fans want it, other rappers want it, this writer wants it. The problem is, Andre 3000 doesn’t. The Outkast icon decided to release his first solo album in 2023, and many were shocked to find that it was a collection of flute instrumentals. In an effort to quell the confusion (maybe a better word would be frustration), Three Stacks has gone on an extensive press tour. He even stopped by HBO’s The Shop to discuss his genre pivot. Hear him tell it, it’s the most important thing he’s done.

Andre 3000 told Shop hosts LeBron James and Maverick Carter that he does not claim to be an expert when it comes to jazz. He’s a fan, but he concedes that he’s far behind the musicians who have spent their lives studying the genre. “I don’t take myself that serious,” he explained. “Jazz is a studied music so I kinda just try to humanize [it].” The musician alluded to the song titles that he chose for the album. He admitted that he chose silly titles in an effort to remove the seriousness from the music. “It’s so elitist in ways,” he noted. “A lot of jazz cats went to school… I don’t want people to think I’m trying to be a jazz musician.”

Andre 3000 Enjoys Being Freed From Songwriting

Three Stacks then coined the term “sonic displayist,” which would have been a killer album title, frankly. “I don’t know what notes I’m playing to be completely honest,” he told the room. “I don’t know what I’m doing and that’s part of the art.” Andre 3000 compared the process of making jazz to rapping, and went on to admit that he’s never felt more free as an artist. “This is most free I’ve ever been,” he admitted. The biggest difference, from Andre’s perspective, is the way in which he’s able to let the music, rather than the lyrics, guide him.

Andre 3000 considers himself a songwriter over a freestyler, which means his Outkast verses were always words first, music second. By removing words, the artist is able to follow his muse anywhere he sees fit. This means that every performance is different. “We really don’t know where we gon’ go,” he explained. “And it’s kinda like you have to feel it out. It’s really an exploratory thing, man.” As much as fans want to hear him rap, it’s difficult to deny Three Stacks’ passion.

LeBron James Re-signs With The Los Angeles Lakers On 2-Year, $104 Million Deal: Report

LeBron James shook the foundation of the NBA six years ago when he left the Cleveland Cavaliers for a second time to join the Lakers. However, the face of the Los Angeles franchise did not really leave a lot of people wondering what he would do this offseason. Number 23 did decide to opt out of the final year of his two-year, $97.1 million extension he inked back in 2022. But the free agency “drama” did not last more than a week. The King is returning to the purple and gold on another two-year max contract, although this time it worth $104 million.

That deal was confirmed by Dime, as well as NBA insiders Shams Charania and Adrian Wojnarowski. In addition to the max money, James also as has a no-trade clause and a player option for the final year. Unfortunately, this negotiation further hampers the possibility of adding any other higher-level talent to the roster. However, it does not matter all that much as LeBron’s key targets –Klay Thompson, Jonas Valanciunas, James Harden– are no longer available.

LeBron James Will Be A Laker For At Least 2 More Years

Perhaps, the Lakers could go out and acquire Bulls guard/forward DeMar DeRozan. But in terms of a roster fit, his game is not really the ideal marriage. The Lakers need extra deep shooting, and DeRozan, while still an effective scorer, is not the guy you think of when it comes to being a three-ball specialist. There is still time for the front office to work some numbers, but as it stands, LeGM’s team remains nearly the same as last year. They were the eighth seed in the Western Conference and were bounced out of the playoffs again by the Nuggets, this time in five in the first round.

What are your thoughts on LeBron James resigning with the Los Angeles Lakers? Did they overpay or hit the nail on the head with the contract, why or why not? Do you see the team winning another championship in these next two seasons? If not, who should they go after to round out this roster? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding LeBron James, the NBA, and the Los Angeles Lakers.
