Lil Durk’s Lawyer Refutes Theory That He Referenced Murder-For-Hire In Lyrics

Lil Durk is in serious legal trouble. The controversial rapper has been charged with murder-for-hire after being accused of allegedly targeting fellow rapper Quando Rondo. The latter was not killed, but Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, was. Lil Durk’s legal team is not going down without a fight, however. Durk’s legal representatives issued a statement on December 5, criticizing the prosecution for their emphasis on rap lyrics.

Lil Durk has multiple attorneys working for him at the moment. Drew Findling, Christy O’Connor, Marissa Goldberg and Jonathan Brayman are working to free the rapper, and they sent an email to Newsweek in which they detail their confidence moving forward. As far as they are concerned, when the prosecution has to rely on rap lyrics as a means of evidence, than there is not a lot of evidence to begin with. “When you see an artist’s rap lyrics quoted as ‘evidence’ against them,” they explained. “It is a glaring indication that there is no real evidence against that person.”

Lil Durk’s Lawyers Claim There’s “No Real Evidence” In Song

The lyrics in question come from the Lil Durk song “Wonderful Wayne & Jackie Boy.” The 2022 release sees the Chicago star “rapping about revenge” in a series of aggressive bars. Prosecution claims that Lil Durk was using his voice and his status within the rap industry to “commercialize” the death of Robinson. “Told me they got an addy (go, go) / Got location (go, go),” Durk rapped. “Green light (go, go, go, go, go) / Look on the news and see your son / You screamin’, ‘No, no’ (p**sy).” The prosecution believes Durk is explicitly referencing news coverage of Robinson’s death.

The rapper’s lawyers, meanwhile, feel this is a very thin connection to make between him and the late Robinson. “The claims in the indictment against Mr. Banks are false and lacking in the most basic due diligence,” they added. The team told Newsweek that they are not concerned about the subject matter of Lil Durk’s music. Furthermore, they are eager to prove that the rapper was not involved in the alleged murder-for-hire scheme for which he’s been charged. “He is looking forward to fighting against these false allegations in court,” they concluded.

Dawn Richard’s Lawyer Alleges Singer Was “Absolutely Terrified” Of Diddy

Dawn Richard’s lawyer, Lisa Bloom, said that her client was “absolutely terrified” of Diddy during an interview with BBC’s Newsnight on Thursday. The former Danity Kane member filed a lawsuit against the Bad Boy mogul back in September with allegations of sexual assault and battery. Speaking about the lawsuit, Bloom alleged to Newsnight that Richard was threatened with more “physical violence” after she went public. “She said Sean Combs had a vicious temper and she was absolutely terrified of him,” Bloom said.

She also alleged that Richard witnessed “some severe acts of violence” from Diddy against his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. “Dawn Richard, my client, says that when she spoke out about it, tried to get Cassie to speak out… When she complained about it, she was also threatened with physical violence. So [it was] just a really violent, tumultuous atmosphere,” Bloom said.

As for the lawsuit, Bloom alleged: “he groped and grabbed her body parts, sexually assaulted her, that he not only failed to pay her money that was promised to her, but actually prevented her from eating and sleeping during those years – just treated her terribly.” Diddy has already vehemently denied the allegations. His lawyer, Erica Wolff, told BBC that the rapper was “shocked and disappointed” by the lawsuit and that Richard had “manufactured a series of false claims all in the hopes of trying to get a pay day.”

Lisa Bloom Discusses Diddy

Bloom’s interview with BBC comes as Diddy remains behind bars in Brooklyn at the Metropolitan Detention Center after authorities arrested him, earlier this year, on charges of alleged sex trafficking and racketeering. He’s already pleaded not guilty and denied those allegations as well. His trial is set to kick off in May of next year. Check out Lisa Bloom’s full interview with BBC below.

50 Cent Has Faith In Lil Durk’s New Lawyer Amid Alleged Murder-For-Hire Case

It’s no secret that Lil Durk has quite the legal battle ahead of him. The Chicago rapper was arrested last month for alleged murder-for-hire conspiracy and more. He’s currently in custody in Los Angeles awaiting his trial, which is tentatively scheduled for January 7, 2025. Recently, he pleaded not guilty to the various charges against him. He did so with the help of Drew Findling, a lawyer who has previously represented the likes of Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame, Lil Baby, Donald Trump, and more.

Now that Durk has Findling on his team, 50 Cent is confident in his ability to come out victorious. Earlier this week, he hopped on Instagram to react to Durk’s new legal representation, making it clear that he approves. “Lil Durk got Drew Findling on the case he sharp, if they didn’t cross their T’s and dot their i’s he gonna hit the bricks again. @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi,” he captioned a photo of Findling.

50 Cent Continues To Praise Drew Findling

This isn’t the first time 50 Cent has sung the praises of Drew Findling, however. In January, YFN Lucci was hit with a 10-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to one count of violating the street gang terrorism and Prevention Act followed by another 10 years of parole. Reportedly, however, he could be coming home much sooner than that. Lucci was represented by Findling, per 50 Cent’s recommendation, which ultimately worked out in his favor.

At the time, 50 Cent recalled speaking with Lucci’s mother about her concerns, hearing rumblings of a 20-year sentence, and more. “I started feeling shaky about this sh*t, I said ‘Oh, sh*t.’ I started feeling cr*zy,” he explained. “I go, ‘Drew, is this real? Like 20 motherf*cking years?’ And he said, ‘Don’t worry about it, I’ve got it.’ […] Next thing you know, 20 years turned into four months. […] You need a lawyer motherf*cker? You need Drew Findling.

Xzibit Loses His Divorce Lawyer Due To Alleged Nonpayment

Xzibit just got a pretty significant update in his divorce case, as his attorney Maya Shulman requested removal from the proceedings due to an “irremediable breakdown,” per The Jasmine Brand and In Touch Weekly. “The attorney-client relationship prevents disclosure of the details of the breakdown,” she reportedly stated. “However, it can be disclosed due to a number of reasons […] Schulman can [no] longer continue to represent [Xzibit] and there is a balance due.” Still, he retained Roslyn Soudry to serve as his legal representative instead in this ongoing case from 2021, when his wife Krista filed for divorce and they argued over how they would split their possessions since the Detroit rapper claimed that his income took a big hit.

With that allegation in mind, then some of Xzibit’s recent moves become much more clear. For example, he signed with Conor McGregor’s upstart record company, Greenback Records, and dropped off a couple of songs as his debuts on the label. We don’t know if more releases will follow soon, but either way, it’s certainly one way to keep busy and generate at least a little bit of cash.

As far as what Xzibit has already released in 2024, this includes a part two single for “Been A Long Time” and “Play This At My Funeral.” Actually, we do know at least a little bit about new music release plans, as the album King Maker will reportedly come out under Greenback Records, which will be his first since 2012’s Napalm. Considering this long wait and how hip-hop has evolved since the 50-year-old’s prime, a lot of people are very curious as to what this will sound like.

Maybe its potential success and more Greenback Music ventures will net Xzibit more money for his divorce case, as his former lawyer’s statement hinted that a lack of payment could be a source of contention for them. Either way, we know that he always commits to working as hard as possible to get things right, whether that’s obsessive studio tinkering or in the legal space. We’ll see whether this debacle clears up eventually amid this new era.

Opposing Lawyer Says Kanye West “Has Attention Span Of A Goldfish” As Ye Struggles To Find New Representation

The lawsuits stemming from Kanye West’s Donda Academy continue to lay at his feet. According to a new report from AllHipHop, things could wind up getting worse for the rapper, as a default judgment is seriously on the table. In particular, this relates to the more recent suit filed by Isaiah Meadows. The former assistant principal at the Academy has been seeking a default one anyway, but this seems like more a possibility. That’s all thanks to Kanye West severely struggling to find a lawyer to represent him in court.

Judge Christopher Lui, who’s presiding over this case, stated in a hearing yesterday, “This can’t continue forever. If a substitute counsel is going to come in, it has to be done quickly.” This came after Manoj Shah, Ye’s attorney, said, “We are trying in vain to retain counsel. We are interviewing several firms. For one reason or another, it has failed to work out. Our goal is to have counsel and participate in the defense.”

Kanye West Could Face A Default Judgment

Rumblings within this ongoing court battle are that Kanye continues to fire or not pay the people attempting to make his case. If the VULTURES MC cannot settle on one, then Judge Lui says he will enter default judgment. Ron Zambrano, who’s been fighting for other former Donda Academy employees as well as Meadows, feels that he knows what the final result will be. “It’s an odd situation. This is the first time we’ve heard there’s an attorney representing [West’s] interests,” Zambrano told Courthouse News.

“Whoever the next attorney is, there’s a long history of people not getting paid by Kanye West, which is part of the problem. But we’re gonna move forward. He’s going to have to pay attention to this case somehow.” However, his critique didn’t stop there as Zambrano made a quip as to why it’s difficult for Ye to secure a lawyer. “I just think that sometimes he has the attention span of a goldfish.” As it stands, there’s no concrete timetable for how much longer he has, but it sounds like patience is running thin.

Megan Thee Stallion’s Lawyer Responds To Tory Lanez’s Missing Gun Claims

Major updates regarding the Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion shooting case continue to file in. According to Meghann Cuniff (via AllHipHop), the Houston rapper’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, has come forward to shoot down previous claims made by Lanez and his legal team. The latter had stated that the gun that was used to injure Megan went missing and therefore not able to run through DNA tests. That court filing was sent in earlier this month. “As the firearm is unavailable, this further testing is impossible. By failing to preserve the material and exculpatory evidence, the People have infringed on the Petitioner’s right under the First and Fourteenth Amendments to seek redress of Petitioner’s grievances through the judicial process.”

Lanez’s team continued to argue, “The Petitioner is entitled to challenge the legality of his confinement under the Fourteenth Amendment due process clause because of the People’s failure to preserve and present exculpatory evidence at trial and make available to the Petitioner post-trial.” Spiro spoke directly with Cuniff to disprove these claims, saying that the weapon was “there and available” at the Los Angeles Police Department.

If you remember, prior to these claims from Lanez and his team, he initially wanted to do DNA tests. They thought this would prove his innocence and place the blame at the feet of someone else. That someone else was a former friend of Megan’s, Kelsey Harris. Tory’s appeal for writ of habeas corpus is currently under consideration. The California Attorney General’s Office needing to make a decision on the petition by November 20.

Katt Williams Eviscerates Diddy’s Lawyer’s “Dumba**” Baby Oil & Costco Excuse

Katt Williams already clowned Diddy as a snitch, and he’s far from done with his comedic onslaughts on the disgraced music executive. Moreover, during a recent stand-up comedy set, he targeted the 1,000 bottles of baby oil that federal authorities reportedly found during raids on Sean Combs’ properties. But Williams’ real ridicule was for Puffy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo. He claimed that his client “buys in bulk” like any other U.S. citizen, bought them from a nearby Costco, and should not be scrutinized so heavily for his possessions. “His dumb a** lawyer says, ‘He probably got it at Costco,’” the comedian joked. “Costco hit right back: ‘We don’t even sell baby oil.’”

This is – apparently – true: Costco did reportedly reach out to TMZ via a spokesperson to claim that none of their locations sell baby oil, and the outlet seemed to confirm this by checking their online storefront. “Back when I was a kid in the late ’70s, they were called threesomes,” Diddy’s lawyer added to TMZ. “I don’t know where the number ‘1,000’ came from. I can’t imagine it’s thousands [of bottles of baby oil and lube]. I’m not really sure what the baby oil has to do with anything.”

Katt Williams Clowns Diddy’s Lawyer

“For years, Sean Combs used the business empire he controlled to sexually abuse and exploit women, as well as to commit other acts of violence and obstruction of justice,” U.S. Attorney Damian Williams claimed against Diddy as part of the federal indictment against him. “He is charged with racketeering and sex trafficking offenses. If you have been a victim of Combs’ alleged abuse – or if you know anything about his alleged crimes – we urge you to come forward. This investigation is far from over.”

Meanwhile, Agnifilo recently provided an update on how Diddy’s feeling about all this. “His state of mind is actually remarkably positive,” he remarked during TMZ‘s recent documentary. “His resolve is strong, he’s engaged, he’s focused on his defense… He’s come to terms with the fact that this is where he is for now.” The attorney also added that his client has the strength to move forward by focusing on his defense. We’ll see what the court finds.

Lil Tjay’s Attorney Addresses Gang Indictment Rumors

Yesterday, rumors that Lil Tjay was named in a federal gang indictment began to spread like wildfire. It was reported that he and roughly 20 others were accused of being members of the $laughtery Gang, and allegedly responsible for 14 shootings in the Bronx. Footage of authorities raiding what was referred to as a “criminal commune” in a Bronx apartment also surfaced online. The raid resulted in eight arrests.

Of course, these rumors had fans concerned, but Lil Tjay’s legal counsel recently took to social media to shut them down. Yesterday, the performer’s attorney Dawn Florio shared a statement regarding the rumors, confirming that they’re not true. “We are aware of several news outlets that have shared false information regarding his legal matters, and we wish to address these inaccuracies,” the statement begins.

Dawn Florio Confirms That Lil Tjay Was Not Named In Gang Indictment

“We urge all media outlets to exercise caution and ensure proper due diligence before publishing speculative or unfounded claims. Reporting inaccurate information not only damages reputations but misleads the public,” it continues. “At this time, we will not be offering further comment on the situation.” While Lil Tjay’s supporters are certainly relieved now that this has been cleared up, some others may not be. Amid rumors that he was named in the indictment, 6ix9ine hopped online to share what many think was a response.

The post in question was a simple black screen on his Instagram Story, flooded with laughing emojis. Lil Tjay just gifted 6ix9ine’s ex-girlfriend a chain shortly after their breakup, which could explain the animosity. What do you think of Lil Tjay’s attorney shutting down rumors that he was named in a federal gang indictment? Are you surprised that these rumors weren’t debunked sooner than they were? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Foxy Brown’s Lawyer Passes Away Amid Alleged Fraud Cases

Foxy Brown’s former lawyer Salvatore Strazzullo has reportedly passed away, and there is no official cause of death attributed to the NYC attorney at press time. Authorities found Strazzullo, also known as the “Night-Life Lawyer” due to many of his cases’ subject matter, dead in his car in front of his parents’ Brooklyn home. He faced multiple alleged fraud cases that accused him of stealing millions of dollars from elderly clients. The 52-year-old represented the “Candy” rapper in a 2011 case that involved her allegedly mooning a neighbor, but a Brooklyn court dismissed these charges. That year, a paralegal and former employee sued him over claims of sexual harassment.

Furthermore, a more recent issue was Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez’s claims that Strazzullo used his escrow account as a Ponzi scheme for many years, allegedly using client funds to pay off other clients and indulge in expensive vices at restaurants and hotels. In total, he faced accusations of stealing over $3.8 million and spent them on luxury items like cars and apartments, but he still pleaded not guilty to a first-degree grand larceny charge, four counts of second-degree grand larceny, and a first-degree scheme to defraud charge. Foxy Brown’s former lawyer also pleaded not guilty in a December 2023 case in another Brooklyn criminal case on accusations of stealing $1.5 million from three other clients, and both cases remained pending at the time of his death. In other Foxy news, she recently caused some drama with Lil Kim by messaging her baby daddy.

Meanwhile, Foxy Brown wasn’t too happy with Keith Murray’s claims that they romantically engaged, and he responded in kind. “Everything I said about Foxy Brown was true,” he explained. “If I offended her, I apologize for bringing out my truth. Lil Woody’s Lawyer Hit With 6-Month Suspension Amid YSL Case

The Supreme Court of Georgia has issued a six-month suspension for Lil Woody’s attorney, Jonathan R. Melnick, for conduct unrelated to the YSL RICO trial. He allegedly failed to notify a client of an important court proceeding in a child support case. The decision was announced in an opinion published on August 13th.

“Having carefully reviewed the record and the parties’ contentions, we determine that a suspension is appropriate given that Melnick’s misconduct was willful rather than negligent and harmed his client and the fact that he has received three prior disciplinary sanctions for similar conduct. See ABA Standards 4.42 (a) and 8.2, Bar Rule 4-103,” the court wrote. “We further determine that the mitigating factors do not outweigh the aggravating factors. Thus, based on the particular facts of this case and this Court’s prior precedent in similar cases, we conclude that a six-month suspension is the appropriate sanction for Melnick’s violations of Rules 1.3 and 1.4.”
