Usher Presented With Key To The City Of Las Vegas

Usher is making the absolute most of his Las Vegas residency. Earlier this year it became the inciting point for one of the biggest dramas of the summer. The R&B star sang to Keke Palmer who had showed up in a bit of a revealing dress. Her boyfriend Darius Jackson took issue with what she wore and posted about it publicly. The massive discussion that followed enveloped dozens of other celebs who shared their opinions.

Now, Usher is once again under a spotlight in Las Vegas. This time though there’s much less drama. With his residency still ongoing until December, he was presented with the key to the city yesterday. “I just want to continue to be an amazing contribution to your amazing city. I do see opportunity here, and the belief that everything that’s in my mind and that I’ve dreamed of is coming to life as a result of the city. So thank you,” the singer said in a statement. He’s also contributed to the city by hosting multiple renditions of his Lovers & Friends music festival. Check out the city’s full announcement post below.

On top of a key to the city, the singer also got a holiday names after him. October 17 was proclaimed Usher Raymond day in Las Vegas. The same day on the other side of the country another city also named October 17 after a musician. That came when Atlanta officially declared it Gucci Mane day. The two declarations don’t seem to necessarily have much to do with each other, but the pair have collaborated on music twice before.

LeBron James Continues To Express Interest In Owning Las Vegas NBA Team

LeBron James is easily one of the most famous players in the entire NBA. Furthermore, he is easily the wealthiest player in the league. Overall, he is the first in-league billionaire. In simpler terms, he is the first player in NBA history to become a billionaire while still playing. It is a tremendous achievement, and there is no doubt that he has made his fans, friends, and family very proud. That said, when you have a lot of money, you need to find ways to use it beyond just saving.

If you have been following LeBron over the past couple of years, you know that he has been keen on the idea of owning an NBA team. Overall, this would be an incredible thing for the league. Moreover, it helps that LeBron wants to own a potential expansion team in Las Vegas. That would be massive for the league and would bring in a ton of star power. Today, James answered a question about Las Vegas, where he explained why now is the right time to get this done.

“It just makes sense,” James said. “Obviously, you got the Raiders here, you got the Knights here, you got the Aces here, you got F1 coming very soon. I think it’s only a matter of times. But I hope I’m part of that time.” He also took to Twitter where he simply wrote “Viva Las Vegas.” Needless to say, LeBron wants to make this happen. Who knows? Maybe someday he will get to play for the team he owns. That would definitely be a massive win for the league and all of its fans.

LeBron James Dazzled By Adele

LeBron James has a huge season of NBA basketball ahead of him. Overall, the Los Angeles Lakers are a team with some hefty expectations. They have LeBron and Anthony Davis at the helm, with a ton of depth behind them. Although they probably won’t win a title, they will at least be playoff-bound. Many are excited to see how LeBron will come out in his 21st season, especially with how hard he has been working. He has an opportunity to extend all of his records, and fans cannot wait to see it.

However, prior to getting back on the court for training camp, LeBron has some other business to attend to. For instance, over the weekend, he was in Las Vegas where he got to see a performance from none other than Adele. Of course, his agent Rich Paul is currently dating Adele, and there are rumors that the two are married. Needless to say, it makes sense that he would want to support someone who is now in his inner-circle, even if by association.

As you can imagine, LeBron James was more than impressed by the performance he got to witness. He took to Instagram following the show, and he offered up some truly spectacular words about Adele and her commanding vocal chops. “You’re ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE @adele!! Simple as that!” LeBron wrote. “Pleasure witnessing it live in the flesh! Never Ever to forget! RARE!!! A breath of fresh air, a striking bolt of light and a unfazed humble yet super confident aura!! Continue love and blessings!!”

Ultimately, it was a great evening for LeBron, and we’re sure he will go see her again at some point. However, first, he has to take care of business in Los Angeles. Recently, Lil Durk paid a visit to the Doolittle Community Center in Las Vegas. The Chicago MC spoke to children about his career, providing them with some words of advice. As expected, the young fans couldn’t get enough of the “All My Life” performer. In a new clip, the rapper’s seen surrounded by countless kids, who serenaded him with their own rendition of the Almost Healed hit.

Lil Durk looks to be overjoyed by their overwhelming support, sporting a huge smile as he signs autographs and poses for photos. The adorable clip has certainly managed to get fans’ attention. Social media users are praising the 30-year-old for taking the time to offer some of his wisdom to the kids, and continuing to use his platform to push positive change.

This wasn’t the only touching rendition of “All My Life” fans have heard as of late, however. Earlier this week, Durk was joined by his collaborator J. Cole onstage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, where they also performed the track live together for the first time ever. Obviously, fans went wild for the moving song, and were met with equal enthusiasm from the artists onstage.

Durk’s visit to the community center was far from his first charitable effort. Last month, it was reported that the rapper’s nonprofit, Neighborhood Heroes, would be providing children with financial literacy classes. He also popped into one of the classes, surprising fans and taking photos. Usher Announced As Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show Headliner

Usher has been named as the headline act for Super Bowl LVIII’s Halftime Show. The NFL announced the decision via a skit involving Usher and Kim Kardashian. It will be Usher’s first time headlining the prestigious event. However, he did make a supporting appearance for the Black Eyed Peas when they headlined the Super Bowl XLV show back in 2011. Last year’s Super Bowl halftime show was performed by Rihanna.

However, that news could be disappointing to some. Rumors had swirled that the Super Bowl show was going to be a 90s reunion special. These rumors claimed that the show would feature a trio of the decade’s biggest musical groups. However, sources have said that rumors about Destiny’s Child, The Backstreet Boys, and *NSYNC serving as triple headliners were just fan speculation. According to TMZ‘s source, the groups were not contacted about the idea and no conversations ever took place. The idea appears to have been sparked by the recent *NSYNC reunion at the VMAs, despite the group saying they have no plans for a tour, album, or residency.

Usher To End Vegas Residency

It’s ironic that Super Bowl LVIII is being held in Vegas because that’s the exact place Usher plans to leave at the end of the year. Last month, it was reported that Usher’s “My Way” residency at the MGM Grand would be ending on December 2. Usher had been holding down the Vegas spot since July 2022. However, he will only be away for two months before he returns to play Allegiant Stadium on February 11.

Of course, Usher’s residency was something of a meme this past summer. Multiple videos emerged of Usher serenading numerous famous women who attended his shows. Perhaps the most notable reaction was Winnie Harlow literally jumping in her boyfriend’s lap to ward off the crooner. Elsewhere, an Usher show was the setting for the whole drama surrounding Keke Palmer being slut-shamed by her boyfriend Darius Jackson due to her Usher concert fit.

Today In Hip Hop History: Tupac Shakur Died After Being Gunned Down On Las Vegas Strip 27 Years Ago

Cultural icon Tupac Shakur was then taken to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada hospital after being shot several times in a drive-by on a Las Vegas strip on September 7, 1996, and was under a medically induced coma for six days before dying from internal bleeding on September 13, 1996.

After several failed attempts by doctors to revive 2Pac, his mother Afeni Shakur requested for his life support machine to be turned off. What were the events that transpired the days before the September 7th shooting that caused his early demise and why has the mystery of his death never been solved? These are the questions that remain 19 years later. Chris Carroll, a retired Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department sergeant, told Vegas Seven Magazine in an interview last year that we may never know;

“Shakur’s murder is still considered an unsolved homicide and an unsolved homicide case is technically never closed. But nothing more is ever going to happen with it.“

After all the documentaries that have been put out pertaining to Pac’s death, most fans attempt to put the clues together and create their own hypothesis yet without hard evidence it’s still just an educated guess as to what really happened the night of September 7, 1996.

The only real evidence police have are the witness accounts from Outlaw member E.D.I Mean, who claimed to have seen all four men in the vehicle and Yaki Kadafi, who was involved in a scuffle with officers two days following the shooting after they pulled over a driver he was with and he protested. Officers did not try to locate Kadafi, who was later gunned down in Irving, NJ two months after the shooting.

Compton investigators assembled mug shots of several gang members, which included Orlando Anderson, the Crip that Tupac attacked in the MGM Grand lobby hours before the shooting. Anderson is the suspect said to have fired the fatal shots that killed Pac. Las Vegas police later discounted Anderson as a suspect and interviewed him only once. He was later killed in an unrelated gang shooting.

‘Pac’s killer has yet to be found or even suspected, but the fight to bring his killer(s) to justice icontinual and highly publicized, which will hopefully bring the truth about his untimely death to light.

Travis Scott Joins Don Toliver As Special Guest During Las Vegas Club Performance

Travis Scott is still riding the highs of UTOPIA, so much so that other artist bring him out to perform it for even more fans. Moreover, during Don Toliver’s recent show at the Zouk nightclub in Las Vegas, he brought out La Flame for some heat. They played some joint efforts, as well as songs in their solo discographies such as the rapper-singer’s “Too Many Nights” with Metro Boomin and Future. As for the Houston MC, he performed “FE!N” and “I KNOW ?,” presumably among others, for the audience. People were quite surprised and excited when he joined the party, and there are plenty of clips of it floating around social media.

Furthermore, Travis Scott knows just how in-demand his live performances are, despite the history associated with them. It’s a tough conversation to have, especially when the “HYEANA” artist is silent on these issues and continues to operate as usual. Regardless, he opened up more dates for his “CIRCUS MAXIMUS” tour after nearly every stop sold out like lightning. In all likelihood, Don Toliver will be among the special guests that he brings out for that trek.

When he turned around, he started jumping up excitedly with a big smile on his face, so it at least looked just like a surprise. Even when they don’t plan it out, it’s clear that they’re close enough to where they can create something naturally energetic for fans.

Meanwhile, this also slightly (very slightly) makes up for the fact that the Love Sick crooner wasn’t on UTOPIA. This disappointed many fans, but that said, there are plenty of collabs from the duo to enjoy. Still, their chemistry basically propelled Don’s inherent talents to superstar status, so it’s natural that fans expect a lot from them. Usher’s Las Vegas Residency Will End In December

Usher’s “My Way” residency in Las Vegas will officially wrap up later this year. He just announced a final 12 dates for the closing run of performances beginning on November 3 and running until the final show on December 2. The residency has been going on since July of 2023 at Park MGM. The ticket sales have tied layers of release starting later today and running until August 25 when they go on sale to the entire public.

The Vegas residency surprisingly became the focal point of one of the biggest pop culture scandals of the summer. Last month, Keke Palmer attended one of Usher’s shows in an outfit that her then boyfriend Darius Jackson found a bit too revealing. The pair went public with their disagreement over Palmer’s outfit choices which let dozens of celebrities and hundreds of fans to weigh in. The scandal lasted for weeks and ultimately resulted in the pair reportedly splitting up recently.

Usher hasn’t been shy about addressing the scandal and his own role in it. He addressed things a bit more head on with his new single “Boyfriend.” In the lyrics he plays the role of the guy that girls’ boyfriends are asking about. Fittingly for the music video, he got Keke Palmer to play opposite him as the pair have a chance encounter in Las Vegas once again.

The release of that song followed Usher confirming he has a new album on the way. The era kicked off with the release of his single “Good Good” alongside Summer Walker and 21 Savage.
