Usher Reflects On His Career As Las Vegas Residency Ends

Usher reflected on his career on Twitter, earlier this week, following the end of his Las Vegas residency. When one fan resurfaced a clip of him once discussing the idea of eventually doing a residency in the city with Trevor Nelson in 2004, he told fans to look at how far he’s come.

In the clip, Nelson asks him to promise never to do a Las Vegas residency. “I can’t promise that,” Usher responds. “You know what, because I am such a theatrical artist, I would love to be in a space– If I did decide to go to Las Vegas, it would be the most phenomenal thing you’ve ever seen in your life.” Replying to the clip on Twitter, Usher wrote: “I saw it then…look at me now.”

It isn’t the first time Usher has shared an emotional response to the ending of his Las Vegas residency. During the final concert, he broke down into tears on stage in front of his fans. “I remember the purpose that this offers, the opportunity that this offers for us to not see color, but to recognize culture, for us to not get caught up in our differences but see our similarities,” he said at the end of the show. “The fact that we love music, the fact that we love entertainment, the fact that we can just enjoy ourselves in this moment—that’s what God would want and that’s what we’re doing.”

Nick Cannon Faces Allegations Of Colorism For Controversial New Promotion

Nick Cannon is no stranger to controversy. These days a lot of it comes through his podcast where he is willing to crack jokes about pretty much anything. That’s gotten him in hot water more than a few times. Most recently he made a joke about a recent Sexyy Red Instagram live saying that she couldn’t even spell “Illuminati” much less be in the secret society. Plenty of fans took issue with his seemingly needless insult at her supposed lack of intelligence, though it’s far from the most controversial thing Cannon has ever done on the show.

Now he’s once again facing controversy online and again it’s for a good reason. In partnership with the ZEUS network, Cannon announced a brand new promotion taking place in Las Vegas tonight. But both he and the promoter quickly faced allegations of colorism and it’s pretty easy to see why. The event is literally themed as a dark skin vs light skin battle, something thousands of fans online took issue with. Many fans pointed out the disconnect between his public rhetoric and the details of the event he’s promoting. That resulted in even more accusations of hypocrisy for Cannon. Nick Cannon is perhaps most well known for his number of children with various baby mothers. That’s why fans found it hilarious when he recently claimed he spends more than $200k every year at Disneyland. He made the comment during a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club to the delight of the hosts.

Nick Cannon also found himself facing some fan backlash recently for a much less serious reason. He claimed that Drake’s new album For All The Dogs is his best yet. Usher Breaks Down Into Tears During Final Las Vegas Show

Usher became emotional on stage during the final show for his Las Vegas residency on Saturday night. Before saying his goodbye to the crowd, following a two-hour performance that highlighted many of his most iconic songs, he reflected on the experience over the past two years.

It was a star-studded affair on Saturday night, as Usher has become accustomed to throughout the residency. Donald Glover, Floyd Mayweather, Scooter Braun, Johnta Austin, Bryan-Michael Cox, and even JAY-Z’s mother, Gloria Carter, were all in attendance. At one point during the show, Usher serenaded Mary J. Blige and H.E.R. “Oh Mary, y’all know I got a thing for older women, now,” he joked to Blige. He finished the night with a performance of “Without You.” Check out his emotional goodbye below.

Usher And Janelle Monae Link Up For Sultry Performance At Las Vegas Show

Since Usher started his Las Vegas residency earlier this year it’s been a magnet for fellow celebs. Most notably was Keke Palmer whose attire at the show sparked an online drama when her boyfriend commented on how appropriate it was. Eventually, that drama reached a much darker place when Palmer had to file a restraining order against Jackson while she seeks sole custody of their child.

Since Usher was announced as the headlining act at next year’s Super Bowl though, he’s been an even hotter commodity. Ahead of his residency coming to an end next month, dozens of high-profile names have popped up at shows. Summer Walker, Quvao, Kenya Moore, Yung Miami, Doja Cat, and many more have reportedly stopped by to see him sing. Now Janelle Monae is the newest to join the list turning up for a recent show that spawned some viral videos. New York rapper and artist, ASAP Rocky, is facing some legal issues right now. Just yesterday, November 20, more updates were brought to light on a case from 2021. Rocky allegedly shot ASAP Relli and the Los Angeles judge found probable cause. According to TMZ among other reports, preliminary hearings led to this development that support his present charges of two counts of first-degree assault with a firearm. A trial is expected to happen sometime soon with arraignment expected to happen on January 8.

While Rocky is not in the best state right now, he has done a lot of good things this year. One of which is his contributions to the fashion and sports world. Not too long ago, he was named the creative director for the collaboration between Puma and F1. The line includes pieces such as racing gloves, jackets, helmets, and more.

Is Erica Dixon Pregnant? “L&HH” Star Reveals If She And Lil Scrappy Are Expecting Another Child

Erica Dixon has vehemently denied the rumors that she is pregnant with Lil Scrappy’s baby. Rumors swirled after she was spotted in Vegas with Scrappy. However, Dixon put those rumors to rest in a recent livestream, saying she was not pregnant and had no immediate plans to be pregnant. Furthermore, she showed off her outfit for the pre-Thanksgiving girls’ night she was helping throw, showing no signs of a baby bump.

Of course, the pair already share one child as a result of their decade-plus involvement with one another. However, Dixon has made it clear that her focus at the moment is finding a successful model of co-parenting with Scrappy. “I ultimately have to have a relationship, deal with him forever because we do share a child. Emani is going to get married one day, have kids and [we gon] share a grandchild. Like we just gon forever be family,” Dixon said recently. It’s unclear why the pair were in Vegas together. However, the trip was their second together in the last few months.

Momma Dee Blasts Bambi For Lying About Dixon & Scrappy

However, wherever Dixon and Scrappy are involved, you know Bambi isn’t too far away. Scrappy’s ex and thus Dixon’s rival went after the pair after they vacationed in Hawaii together. However, Bambi shaded Scrappy, saying that he invited her and her kids first and that Dixon was essentially his backup option. Bambi went to say that Scrappy “gets what he wants” and he’ll hop from woman to woman to get it.

However, Momma Dee, Scrappy’s mother and proud Bambi hater, called cap on Bambi’s claims. Dee argued that Bambi’s story made no sense as the Hawaiian vacation was to celebrate Dixon’s birthday. Therefore, Scrappy would have never invited Bambi in the first place. “She’s a lie, she don’t even know the truth. The more she lie, the more big her gums get,” Momma Dee noted.

Ever the style icon, Rih kept warm in a long, brown leather coat with abstract detailing. Her long hair, which has been notably lighter as of late, was worn up in a high bun, giving a markedly glamorous touch to her street style. ASAP obviously looked great beside her, using neon gloves and sneakers to keep all eyes on him. The rest of his look consists of a graphic tee, navy carpenter pants, a jacket from his collection, and a baseball cap reading “ALLAH.”

Is Beyoncé Performing At The Sphere In Las Vegas?

Once upon a time, if an artist was booked to do a residency in Las Vegas, it meant they were getting older, past their prime, or otherwise washed up. Not so, these days.

After hit makers like Adele, Christina Aguilera, and Usher made Las Vegas a hotspot for performers at the heights of their careers, more acts than ever are looking to get in on the action — including, reportedly, Beyoncé.

According to The New York Post, the Las Vegas Sphere owner James Dolan (who also owns Madison Square Garden and the Knicks basketball team) is in talks with the Renaissance singer to have her own residency at the brand-new venue when U2’s own run ends next year.

The Post notes that both Jay-Z, Beyoncé’s husband, and her mom, Tina Knowles, have toured the Sphere, but her team wants $10 million for the residency — the same amount U2 earned for their own 36-date stay. While this would seem to be good for the venue’s operators, because of the upfront payments, they could actually make much less money than they would for a usual concert. The majority of the Sphere’s revenue comes from suite sales and advertising on the LED exterior of the venue, and it’s already lost a little under $100 million since it was completed and opened earlier this year.

Still, a Beyoncé residency would be nothing to shake a stick at, as her fans have already proven they’ll collectively shell out the GDP of a small country to see the Queen live.

Usher Taps Nas To Perform With Him During Las Vegas Show: Watch
