Nicki Minaj‘s Husband’s Sexual Assault Case Stalls In Settlement Negotiations

Nicki Minaj‘s husband, Kenneth Petty, is reportedly refusing a judge’s order to settle the sexual assault case brought forth against him by Jennifer Hough. The victim is now seeking legal help to put pressure on Petty to move forward. HipHopDX obtained court documents on Monday that show Hough’s attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, has demanded a scheduling order. He claims Petty is refusing to cooperate on settlement negotiations.

“We are counsel to Plaintiff Jennifer Hough in the above-referenced matter. I write jointly with counsel for Defendant Kenneth Petty,” Blackburn wrote in his letter to Judge Cho as noted by HipHopDX. “As you know, the Court provided the parties with an opportunity to engage in private mediation. The parties participated in private mediation, but unfortunately, we were unable to reach a settlement. We would like to have a scheduling conference with the court to set a scheduling order.”

Hough alleges that Petty harassed her in an attempt to convince her to recant to avoid the National Sex Offender Registry. Hough says Petty offered her $500,000 to drop the case and that Minaj hired private investigators to harass her and her daughter. However, she’s since dropped her case against Minaj. As Petty continues to not make progress toward a settlement, the possibility of the case going to trial becomes more and more likely. The judge ordered him to reach a settlement with Hough back in December.

Petty was previously convicted of first-degree attempted rape in 1995. For the conviction, he served over four years in prison. Almost two decades later, he still had not registered as sex a offender, resulting in a judge sentencing him to one year of home confinement and three years of probation.

In a heartfelt post, she shared a carousel of photos that began with a picture of herself, her husband Kenneth Petty, and their son Papa Bear. The post also features images of Papa Bear with his grandmothers, as Nicki lovingly acknowledged each of them and expressed how fortunate her son is to have them in his life.

Nicki Minaj And Husband Avoid Assault Lawsuit

Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty are facing even more legal trouble. The pair allegedly failed to respond to a lawsuit filed against them earlier this year. The suit was filed by Thomas Weidenmüller, one of Nicki Minaj’s former security guards. He claims that the couple physically and verbally assaulted him. The alleged assault took place in January 2022 during a concert in Frankfurt, Germany. Weidenmüller says that Minaj and Petty attacked him after a male fan breached a barricade and approached Minaj.

Weidenmüller was allegedly punched by Petty during the incident. The former security guard was hospitalized for over a week with a suspected broken jaw. He has had seven surgeries since. He is now seeking more than $700,000 from the couple. The plaintiff has requested a default judgment, but the Pettys have allegedly been difficult to track down. Apparently, Minaj is the only one against whom the judge has granted Weidenmüller a default judgment. The couple has yet to issue a public statement on the matter. Kenneth ‘Zoo’ Petty Accuser Seeking Default Judgement For Alleged Sucker Punch

Queens MC, Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth ‘Zoo’ Petty, were sued last year by the head of security at a venue in Germany. The accuser claims Zoo broke his jaw with a sucker punch because a male fan was allowed to run on stage during Nicki’s performance.

Now the accuser is seeking a default judgement after Nicki and her hubby ignored his lawsuit.

According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, the man suing the couple has asked a judge to grant him a default.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, back in 2022, Thomas Weidenmuller brought a lawsuit for battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence.

Last year, Weidenmüller asked the court to allow him to serve Minaj and Petty via an alternative method. He hired a process server who made various unsuccessful attempts to track down the rapper.

The judge signed off on the request and Weidenmüller placed a notice in the local paper notifying Minaj and Petty of the lawsuit.

Now, the security guard has demanded the court grant him a default against Minaj and Petty. The judge signed off on the default against Minaj but has yet to grant one against Petty.

Now, Weidenmüller will move for a default judgment in the amount of $753k.

Nicki Minaj just found herself (and her husband) in more hot legal water, although this time she might be too late to rectify it. Moreover, the rapper faces a default judgement in a $753K lawsuit over an alleged assault that took place during her Frankfurt, Germany tour stop back in 2019. According to a RadarOnline report from Friday (April 28), security guard Thomas Weidenmuller, who first sued the couple back in 2022, motioned for the court to give Minaj a default judgement. Furthermore, it seems like they failed to answer to the lawsuit in time. While the “Super Freaky Girl” MC faces said judgement, Weidenmuller still hasn’t been able to obtain it against Kenneth Petty. Perhaps the 40-year-old will not have to pay the lawsuit’s full amount as a result, but that’s still unclear.

As his story goes, the security guard had a heated discussion prompted by the couple after a fan got past security barricades and on stage with Nicki Minaj. Even though security quickly resolved the issue in 15 seconds, the couple allegedly confronted Weidenmuller and his colleagues after the show. Reportedly, the Trinidadian-born artist called a female security guard on Weidenmuller’s team a “f***ing b***h” and trashed her live on social media. That’s when the security guard escorted his coworker away from the showdown. When he went to Minaj’s dressing room to keep discussing the issue, Kenneth Petty allegedly punched him in the face.

Nicki Minaj brags about not having any musical competition and in some cases that may be true but the “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” rapper just took a minor loss in the court of law. Although the songwriter did secure a default judgement in February against a YouTuber who failed to respond to her defamation lawsuit. However, according to Vibe, Minaj’s luck did not pull through in her defamation case against lawyer Tyrone Blackburn.

The outlet is reporting that the musician’s motion to sanction Blackburn, the legal representative for her husband Kenneth Petty’s rape accuser (Jennifer Hough) was denied by the East New York judge presiding over the case.

In his statement to the court obtained by AllHipHop, Judge James R. Cho stated, “The court does not find Hough’s decision to pursue a motion for default judgment against [Nicki] sanctionable, notwithstanding [Nicki’s] claim that the motion lacked merit.”

Judge Cho continued, “Here, [Hough] did not have an obligation to withdraw her motion for default judgment against Nicki simply because counsel for [Nicki] considered the motion ‘frivolous.’”

On the other hand the judge was sure to drill home the point that Hough’s attorney still has a long way to go in this ongoing battle. “Blackburn should not take the denial of the motion for sanctions as in any way endorsing his behavior,” said Judge Cho.

The rapper and her husband have been battling with Hough in court since she filed suit against the couple in August 2021. In her suit, Hough accused them of defamation and witness intimidation.Minaj has continously denied the allegation.

The case reportedly gotten so bad that according to the outlet, in December 2022, a judge allegedly ordered Petty and Hough to come a settlement but that has yet to had.

Nicki Minaj recently failed to sanction her husband Kenneth Petty’s assault accuser and her legal team, according to court documents obtained by AllHipHop. Moreover, her issue stems from allegedly “wild” statements that Jennifer Hough’s lawyer made to the judge in this case. Although authorities dropped Minaj from the case due to a lack of court jurisdiction, she still wants retribution for the time and money she wasted in defending herself. Furthermore, Hough sued the rap star and Petty for harassment, claiming that they pressured her retracting her assault allegations against Nicki’s husband, which she made in 1994.

However, the court denied the “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” MC’s motion to sanction Hough and her attorney Tyrone Blackburn for defamatory statements and false accusations. “The court does not find [Hough’s] decision to pursue a motion for default judgment against [Nicki] sanctionable, notwithstanding [Nicki’s] claim that the motion lacked merit,” ruled Judge James R. Still, these accusations and claims of falsely damaging actions and statements seem to go both ways. For example, Hough alleged that Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty offered her $500,000 to drop the case, and sent private detectives to stalk her and her daughter, in addition to provoking her to move between states. After Hough and her team dropped Minaj from the case after pursuing default judgement, she tried to seek accountability for their allegedly unfair and unfounded actions. These mostly relate to defamatory statements made by Hough’s attorney Blackburn regarding her involvement in a New York gang, her legal team cyberstalking the accuser’s former lawyers, and offensive comments.

Despite the judge siding with Blackburn, he made it clear that the lack of ability to sanction does not mean his inflammatory actions are endorsed by the court. “Blackburn should not take the denial of the motion for sanctions as in any way endorsing his behavior,” the judge stated.
