Keke Palmer has once again demonstrated her resilience in the face of adversity. After responding to shameful remarks by her boyfriend, Darius Jackson, she broke her social media silence with a TikTok video showcasing her classy response. Palmer has also turned the situation into an opportunity by launching her new T-shirt line, “I’m a Motha,” […]
Usher warned fellas not to leave their girls around him in 2002 via his song “U Don’t Have To Call.” YG had no clue that would remain true over 20 years later, when his rumored boo, Saweetie, crossed paths with the singer. The “My Type” rapper traveled to Las Vegas for Usher’s critically acclaimed My Way residency. Little did she know she’ll end up on stage with the musician.
During the fan interaction segment of his show, Usher serenaded Saweetie to his song “There Goes My Baby.” However, she kept her cool to avoid the same public spat with her alleged boyfriend, which Keke Palmer dealt with earlier this week. In the clip captured by a fan, when encouraged to participate, Saweetie played coy, to which Usher remarked, “Oh Saweetie, you’re too cool to sing my song?”
While it’s not clear if this was just a case of stage fright, fans are speculating that Saweetie chose not to join with Usher because she didn’t want to receive any public blowback. Keke Palmer was berated by her boyfriend, Darius Jackson, who is the father to her son Leo, after she was seen dancing and singing along with Usher in a performance prior.
Saweetie is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
Keke Palmer has been the subject of a minor controversy this week after a video of her flirtatious dance with Usher at his Las Vegas concert drew criticism from plenty of salty men — including Darius Jackson, the father of her four-month-old son. However, to let Ms. Palmer tell it, she doesn’t even see the chatter online according to the caption of her latest Instagram post, which subtly responded to the kefuffle over her viral moment.
“One thing is certain and one thing is true, IM A MOTHA, through and through!” she wrote in the caption of a video singing Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely” to her son. “To all my mom’s out there, how did your baby change you?? Mine empowered me! On such another level, my perspective changed because when my baby is good I’m GREAT! Look at that face! Gratitude galore.”
Although she doesn’t overtly say it, this looks very much like a clear reference to Jackson’s comments on her video, in which he wrote, “It’s the outfit tho.. you a mom.” The outfit in question, a sheer unitard over a booty-baring black leotard, had many observers expressing their thirst, appreciation, or disapproval on Twitter (with a strong correlation, in this writer’s opinion, to the individual commenters’ level of “rizz,” as the kids say).
Keke took her response one step further, though, adding that she put some new merch up for sale: Shirts that read “I’m a motha!” and “Stevie to the bullsh*t” — referring to Stevie Wonder’s inability to see negative commentary.
We’re used to reporting on the drama surrounding couples like Chrisean Rock and Blueface, or Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox. This week, however, it’s been Keke Palmer and her (ex?) boyfriend Darius Jackson in the spotlight after he let insecurities about his co-parent wearing a sheer dress to watch Usher perform in Las Vegas get the better of him. While neither actress nor personal trainer has publicly confirmed the status of their relationship, they seem to have either blocked or unfollowed each other on Instagram. In addition, Jackson has removed all photos of Palmer from his Instagram profile.
Palmer, meanwhile, has finally been reacting to his antics on Friday (July 7) afternoon. Less than an hour ago she shared a sweet video with her infant son Leodis, singing “Isn’t She Lovely” to the young boy as he sits happily in her arms. “One thing is certain and one thing is true, IM A MOTHA, through and through! ,” the Chicago native wrote in the caption, seemingly clapping back at Jackson’s controversial tweet criticizing her Usher outfit. “To all my mom’s out there, how did your baby change you?? Mine empowered me! On such another level, my perspective changed because when my baby is good I’m GREAT! Look at that face! Gratitude galore,” Keke added before encouraging fans to shop the merch linked in her bio.
Over on TikTok, the former child star kept the same energy while dancing along to a viral audio of herself singing, “If you gon’ act up, I’m ’bout to link up.” It seems Palmer is a woman of her word, as she’s been moving in completely unbothered energy since the feud with Jackson began.
In the comments, many users have been speculating that trouble was brewing long before this “final straw” came. “As a Virgo… It was already issues/problems brewing at home. His public comment was him lashing out in an attempt to get her attention about his underlying insecurities of inferiority,” one person wrote. “He felt a lack [of] respect and importance wayyyy before the Usher show. All of this is just an example of how things could be handled better. If people were raised to have better communication skills versus whatever the hell else they learned.”

Keke “Keep A Bag” Palmer doesn’t seem to be in her feelings about her co-parent, Darius Jackson’s latest antics. While they quickly became one of the internet’s favourite couples following the birth of their son in February, things for the young lovers quickly took a turn earlier this week. At the time, the 29-year-old publicly shaded Keke’s outfit of choice for an Usher concert in Las Vegas, during which the R&B heartthrob serenaded her with his silky smooth voice. “It’s the outfit tho… You a mom,” Jackson tweeted on Wednesday (July 5).
At first, fans couldn’t tell whether the father of one was being serious or not. However, his dramatic attitude since leaves us thinking he was genuinely upset over Palmer’s sheer dress and interaction with Usher. Since the initial tweet, social media sleuths realized that Jackson and Palmer no longer follow each other on Instagram. Additionally, the personal trainer briefly deactivated his accounts before resurfacing with limited comments and a private Twitter page.
On Elon Musk’s app, Darius has been busy tweeting Kanye West lyrics like, “I used to want this thing forever, y’all can have it back.” Elsewhere, his IG feed has gone through a notable cleanse, with all evidence of Keke’s face removed from his grid. Their months-old son, Leodis, remains in several of his recent uploads.
As for the former child star, she’s been online too. However, instead of addressing the drama or shading her co-parent, Palmer has left several photos of Jackson up on her Instagram between her many selfies. She also hasn’t let the potential heartbreak stop her from working harder than ever.
Check out Keke Palmer’s latest Instagram post, in which she continues to focus on securing the bag, below. Do you think that Darius Jackson is overreacting? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more music/pop culture news updates.
Keke Palmer and her boyfriend, Darius Jackson, who is also the father of her child, have found themselves amid public controversy. After a video surfaced of Palmer enjoying Usher’s performance in Las Vegas, Jackson publicly criticized her outfit, sparking a debate about relationships and public shaming. As the couple navigates this turmoil, many question whether […]
Some of the spiciest pop culture drama this week is what’s going on between Keke Palmer and her boyfriend Darius Jackson. For those unaware, the Internet stormed on Jackson after he expressed disapproval of Palmer wearing a slightly revealing outfit to Usher’s concert- and many think that he was jealous of him serenading her. Of course, like with any public drama between celebrities, people from every corner stepped in to give their take. In the process, people who called out double standards in this case actually brought up Chance The Rapper, referencing a viral video of him from not too long ago. According to these proponents, social media was happy to bash on Chance but let Keke do something similar.
However, when you really compare the two instances, it’s clear that Keke Palmer has much less to explain on her end than Chance. Moreover, someone filmed the Chicago rapper grinding with a woman that isn’t his wife at a festival, which many took issue with. Still, it’s not like it was complete backlash, as plenty of users still defended it as just harmless fun that we don’t even know if his wife approves of. Regardless, it seems like a stretch to compare an act to a dress, especially when its public nature wasn’t prompted by the couple itself as Jackson did in this case.
Chance The Rapper Video Gets Compared To Keke Palmer Situation
“If I remember correctly, everybody was calling out Chance the Rapper for letting a lady dance on him at Carnival,” one user tweeted about the Keke Palmer situation. “But not many are calling out our Beloved for dancing on Usher, basically doing the same thing as Chance but in reverse. He should’ve straight called her out on this because we all know the outfit wasn’t the real reason for him calling her out. Also should’ve did it behind closed doors. It is what it is though. We can’t be so deep in other people’s relationships when it’s not our business.”
Meanwhile, Chance is far from the first celebrity that users dragged into this mess. Jacquees wants to stay out of it, whereas Usher had a short and cheeky response. Overall, it seems that the moral of this story is to keep relationship stuff to yourself, and to not make a scene online. Come back to HNHH for the latest updates on Keke Palmer and Chance The Rapper.
Last night, Twitter was on fire when new mom Keke Palmer got ‘mommy-shamed’ by her baby daddy Darius Dalton for wearing a revealing outfit while being serenaded by R&B star Usher.
After the memes and social media drama KeKe shared more pictures of her revealing outfit on Instagram and encouraged everyone to go see Usher’s show.
I wish I had taken more pictures but we were running late! I am telling y’all right now, if you haven’t seen @usher YOU MUST GO!! HE WAS SO FABULOUS!! Giving theater, Atlanta downnn, tips and tricks and just absolutely iconic. I was truly inspired as a performer. I whooped some ass in spades too! Where is that pic of us all together with the King himself?? @noraradd
Yesterday, Keke Palmer posted a video of herself having the time of her life at an Usher concert. In the video, she’s seen wearing a sheer dress with a black bodysuit underneath. It was that outfit that sparked some controversy that has spiraled out of control. Afterward the father of Palmer’s child, Darius Jackson shared his thoughts on the videos in a tweet. “It’s the outfit tho.. you a mom,” his tweet reads. The post caught fans’ attention and sparked a LOT of responses. “The moment men start seeing woman as mother figures they forget that they have any duality outside of that and think they can’t be multifaceted,” one of the top responses reads.
After the controversy had been completely set off, Jackson doubled down on his opinions in a new tweet. Subsequently, he tweeted “We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is.” Unsurprisingly, his doubling down did little to quiet fans’ anger. Now Usher himself has weighed in on the situation, though he’s hardly taking sides. Meanwhile he made light of the whole affair in a post on the new Meta app Threads. His post reads “Am I trending yet?” While the app doesn’t even have a trending page yet it’s clear Usher knows he’s part of some big online discussions right now.
Keke Palmer isn’t the only celeb caught dancing at a recent Usher show. Last month a video of Patti LaBelle getting down at an Usher show while fans cheered her on went viral. Earlier this year, Usher released his new single “GLU,” his first new track since 2021.
Usher also joined Muni Long for a remix of her song “Hrs & Hrs.” The remix turned the track into a hot and heavy duet between the pair. What do you think of Usher’s response to the ongoing Keke Palmer drama spawned from one of his concerts? Let us know in the comment section below.
Jacquees is now somehow involved in a drama-fueled online battle that includes Keke Palmer, Usher, Darius Jackson, and more. There is footage of an Usher concert in which the R&B singer is serenading Keke. This would be harmless, except for what she’s wearing. She had a skintight black leotard with sheer black lace covering the rest of her, exposing her backside. The father of Keke’s recently born child, Darius Jackson, took exception to the revealing outfit, claiming on Twitter, “It’s the outfit tho… you a mom.”
“We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife [and] mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others,” Jackson continues. “[And] he gets told how much of a hater he is.” Keke Palmer fans rushed to her defense, with one commenter randomly throwing Jacquees into the mix. “It’s Usher like cmon now,” the Tweet reads. “I could see if it was Jacquees.”
Not fazed one bit, Jacquees responded to the comment with, “Leave me out of it.” While the handle @b0mbchell_ was giving a backhanded compliment to the Georgia R&B crooner, Jacquees was having none of this smoke. He was not about to get in trouble on the internet for absolutely nothing. From all of this backlash, Darius Jackson continues to double down on his claims, still not pleased about Keke Palmer’s outfit. Usher has yet to comment about the outfit or Jackson’s stance on the issue.
As for Keke herself, she seems undaunted by Jackson’s comments, having nothing but good things to say about the Usher performance. She showered the praise on her Instagram: “I am telling y’all right now, if you haven’t seen [Usher,] YOU MUST GO!! HE WAS SO FABULOUS!!” For Jacquees, his only hope is that Ms. Palmer doesn’t come to his show anytime soon. Otherwise, he might have to answer to Darius Jackson.
