Kay Flock And Fivio Foreign ‘Make A Movie’ On Their Energetic New Track

Fivio Foreign and Kay Flock aren’t fixing what isn’t broken. Over a drill beat accompanied by piano keys, the duo spits with fury on “Make A Movie.” While listeners may be used to this sound, Flock and Fivio continue to make things interesting simply because what they have to say is so good. Whether it’s reflecting on their come-ups or reveling in their riches, “Make A Movie” has a cinematic feel to it due to the progressive narrative. One can only imagine what the possible video for this record will display.

This is another major collaboration for Kay Flock after Cardi B jumped on “Shake It” also featuring Dougie B and Bory 300. Previously, Flock released The D.O.A Tape in 2021 featuring G Herbo, B-Loveee, Justo B, Lil Skrap 1090, and more. Fivio Foreign has been on the run of a lifetime as of late feature-wise, culminating in the April release of his debut album B.I.B.L.E featuring Kanye West, Quavo, DJ Khaled, A$AP Rocky, and many more. New York City is in good hands with these two and their peers.

Cardi B Encourages Drill Rappers To Leave The Streets After Appearing On Kay Flock’s ‘Shake It’

Cardi B is flying high this week, appearing on the cover of Essence with her family and popping up in an episode of Baby Shark’s Big Show! to perform a new song, “The Seaweed Sway.” She’s obviously making the most of her status as a crossover pop icon, but that doesn’t mean she’s forgotten where she started. Cardi also got back to her roots this week with another new song that’s completely the opposite of her Baby Shark guest role. Appearing on Kay Flock’s new single “Shake It,” Cardi shows she’s still got ties to the streets that raised her.

However, rather than simply dabbling in the controversial drill style to expand her own resume, she’s using the moment for good. Drill rap has come under fire recently for encouraging gun violence on the streets of New York. While the style’s practitioners say they’re simply recording the life around them, there’s no denying that there’s a link between the gang shootouts and the reporting that drill rappers do in their rhymes. Cardi, however, wants those rappers to make the most of their opportunities with music and leave the streets alone.

“On some G sh*t, yo, let me tell y’all little n****s something,” she said during an Instagram Live stream. “I know it’s a lot of smoke, I know how sh*t goes, but use y’all music to get signed and get the f*ck out the Bronx because it’s only death and indictments out there.” She has a point; even her host on “Shake It,” Kay Flock, is currently in jail, while another rapper who appears on the song, Dougie B, was recently picked up on a probation violation.

Meanwhile, in another video, Cardi explained the difference between the Bronx and Brooklyn drill styles. Check that out below.

RingRing Visuals and Jochi Saca directed the video, which features an appearance from fellow drill rapper B-Lovee and was shot throughout their neighborhood’s iconic City Island.

“Shake It” begins with Kay Flock, fierce and sliding through the Elias Beats-produced track. Dougie B and Bory300 add their own drill tastes to the mix, before Cardi B closes, unleashing forceful lines that challenge any potential competitors. “Try to play me, you know I perform,” she says.

Cardi B Is Armed And Ready For Combat On Kay Flock’s Electrifying ‘Shake It’ With Dougie B And Bory300

Two of Cardi B’s most recent singles pushed the boundaries of what some might expect from her musically. “WAP” and “Up” caused quite the ruckus at the time of their releases, but it was all a part of Cardi’s plan to be her most expressive self. For her latest musical contribution, Cardi shifts things to the opposite side of the spectrum thanks to some help from Bronx rappers Kay Flock, Dougie B, and Bory300. Together, the quartet joins forces for their electrifying and raw drill record, “Shake It.”

While the new song, which samples Sean Paul’s “Temperature” and Akon’s “Bananza (Belly Dancer),” is a rather short one, the energy that the rappers bring to it makes for quite the ride. It arrives with a visual that watches Cardi, Kay Flock, Dougie B, and Bory300 take over a Bronx street corner as they’re surrounded by their crew members who are either draped in red or blue. Cardi herself sports a bright red wig as she absolutely kills her verse on the song.

The song lists Kay Flock as the lead artist and it arrives almost five months after he was arrested for allegedly murdering a Harlem man after a dispute that occurred outside a barbershop.

Kay Flock’s Attorney Speaks Out About The Rapper’s Murder Arrest

New York rapper Kay Flock was arrested for murder this past Thursday following an incident that took place outside a Harlem barbershop earlier this month. According to The New York Daily News, the rapper, born Kevin Perez, is accused of murdering 24-year-old Oscar Hernandez after he walked by the shop, opened its door, and asked Hernandez what he was looking at. The two met outside and it allegedly eventually led to Perez pulling out a gun to shoot Hernandez in the neck and back. A few days after Perez’s arrest, his attorney shared a statement about the matter.

“Yesterday, I accompanied Kevin as he self-surrendered to Detective in the 30th precinct,” Scott Leemon, Kay Flock’s attorney, said in a statement to XXL. “Arrangements were immediately made with NYPD once I learned he was wanted. As to the charges levied against him, we have begun our own investigation into these allegations.” He adds, “More importantly, considering the DA’s significant disclosure this morning that the NYPD received a tip saying someone else is the shooter, we demanded the DA’s office provide prompt disclosure of the videos referenced in the complaint and more information on the tip.”

Kay Flock’s arrest comes after he released his debut, The D.O.A. Tape, earlier this year. It includes eight songs and features from G Herbo, Dougie B, B Lovee, and more. He also connected with Lil Tjay and Fivio Foreign for their collaboration “Not In The Mood.”
