Vice President Harris Calls for a ‘New Way Forward’ in CNN Interview

Vice President Harris Calls for a ‘New Way Forward’ in CNN Interview

In her first interview as the Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris emphasized the need to “turn the page” on former President Donald Trump, citing the division and chaos he represents. Speaking with CNN, Harris expressed pride in running alongside Tim Walz for the presidency, advocating for a “new way forward” that prioritizes unity and optimism. She highlighted their campaign’s commitment to delivering what she believes Americans deserve—hope and progress.

“I am so proud to be running with Tim Walz for president of the United States and to bring America what I believe the American people deserve, which is a new way forward and turn the page on the last decade of what I believe has been contrary to where the spirit of our country really lies.

“I’m talking about an era that started about a decade ago where there is some suggestion — warped, I believe it to be — that the measure of the strength of a leader is based on who you beat down, instead of where I believe most Americans are, which is to believe that the true measure of the strength of a leader is based on who you lift up.  That’s what’s at stake, as much as any other detail that we could discuss in this election.”

Meek Mill Wants To Perform “Dreams And Nightmares” At Presidential Debate

Meek Mill might be gassed up. The rapper was clowned for not having hits during a recent podcast, but the internet came to his defense. They asserted that Meek did, in fact, have hits, and that “Dreams and Nightmares” is a hip-hop classic. The rapper weighed in on the discourse himself, so he obviously saw it. Now, however, he’s wanting to take his biggest hit to the biggest political stage imaginable. Meek wants to perform “Dreams and Nightmares” at the upcoming presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.

To be fair to Meek Mill, there’s some geographical context. The presidential debate, which takes place September 10, will be held at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. Meek is one of the city’s most popular rappers. “Dreams and Nightmares” became the unofficial theme song for the Super Bowl run by Eagles in 2023, so maybe the rapper is hoping he can be a good luck charm once again. “Let me do dreams and nightmares at this debate lol,” Meek wrote on Instagram.

Meek Mill Has Been Critical Of Both Candidates

The question, ultimately, is who Meek Mill would be a good luck charm for. The rapper has expressed admiration and criticism for both presidential candidates. He claimed he wanted to sit down with Harris and question her regarding her incarceration policies. “[I’d] ask her 3 questions about black and brown men going to prison,” the rapper tweeted on August 14. “And try to help her understand from a survival standpoint… she may have never had to encounter.”

Conversely, Meek Mill has expressed confusion over how Donald Trump has managed to get away with all the things he’s done. It’s still unclear if the rapper meant it in a complimentive or accusatory way. “Got hit in the head, didn’t flinch,” he tweeted. “He’s been indicted, and he’s still running for president. Who is this guy, Trump? I’ve met some tough people, but seriously…” Meek Mill did conclude his string of tweets by clarifying that he’s not endorsing either side. “Just my thoughts,” he wrote. “I’m not endorsing anyone—I don’t know much about politics.” Consequently, his chances of getting up on that debate stage are slim to none.

DNC Producer Sets The Record Straight On Beyonce’s Rumored Appearance

The Democratic National Convention was a star-studded event. Lil Jon showed up to perform. Kenan Thompson did a comedic bit onstage. There was even sightings of Oscar-winning director Spike Lee in the crowd. The one celebrity everybody wanted to see, though, was Beyonce. The internet reached a fever pitch during the multi-day event, determining that Queen Bey would give a surprise performance and endorse Presidential nominee Kamala Harris. This, of course, didn’t happen. Beyonce did not show up, and fans were disappointed. The producers for the event, however, are not accepting the blame.

Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss, the executive producer and director of the DNC, broke their silence on the Beyonce rumors August 27. They made it very clear from the onset that Beyonce was never involved with the event. Furthermore, Kirschner told The Hollywood Reporter that he denied the rumors at every opportunity, so that fans wouldn’t be upset. “We never put out anything about Beyonce,” he asserted. “We denied it every time the media asked us. Even though people on my staff didn’t believe me. I kept getting texts from news organizations…”

Beyonce’s Mother Has Publicly Endorsed Kamala Harris

The executive producer never intended to recruit Beyonce, because he felt her presence would have overshadowed the star of the DNC: Kamala Harris. “We have the biggest star, the Democratic nominee for president,” Kirshner noted. “Why would we overshadow that?” To be fair to the fans, Kamala Harris has aligned herself with Beyonce multiple times. The politician praised Beyonce’s latest album, Cowboy Carter, on social media. She walked out to the Beyonce song “Freedom” when it was first announced she would be running for President. And, Queen Bey’s mother, Tina Knowles, has openly endorsed Harris.

Glenn Weiss, the aforementioned director of the DNC, laid the rumor completely at the feet of people online. “This is the Internet taking on a life of its own and people taking something as fact,” he stated. “Literally to the point that people in my booth are saying: ‘Is she coming? You can tell me.’” Weiss also pointed out that TMZ picked up the rumor, and later had to issue an apology. “It was pretty crazy,” he concluded. “But she wasn’t coming.”

Plies Drops a Bar on the Election: ‘You Can Vote for the AKA or the KKK’

Watch Plies Says Women With Plastic Surgery Only Attracts Ugly Men

Plies put the election in a quick bar: “You can vote for the AKA or the KKK.”

Hitting X, Plies revealed the choice is simple for him. He is voting for a candidate who has not been indicted, found guilty of crimes, started an insurrection, or any of the other items that Donald Trump has. In simpler terms, Vice President Kamala Harris got his vote.

Plies is no stranger to analyzing American politics surrounding the sitting president and the forthcoming election. Following President Joe Biden’s dropping out of the 2024 race and throwing his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris to be the nation’s next leader, Plies analyzed the situation and former President Donald Trump.

“This Was A SAD DAY For Mainstream Media & Everyone Else Who Took Pride In Beating Up On A 81yr Old Man. Who Had A Speech Impediment/Stuttering Disorder,” Plies wrote. “Y’all Hoped It Never Ended. Y’all Treated Him Like The Convicted Felon & Treated The Convicted Felon Like He Was The President!”

Then highlighting a Trump post, Plies believes the President is “scared shitless!!”

Plies added, “He’s A Unconfident, Pathological Liar. Who ONLY Experience Victories When He Manipulates The System (I.E SCOTUS & Judge Cannon). He Has To Lie & Sell U An Illusion In Hopes U Believe In Him!! He Only Wins When It’s Handle To Him! Comey 2016!”

Over 200 Republicans Who Previously Worked for Bush, Romney, or McCain Endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for President

Battleground Voters React to Vice President Harris’ Optimistic Nomination Speech

In an unprecedented move, more than 200 Republicans who previously worked for former President George W. Bush, the late Sen. John McCain, and Sen. Mitt Romney have endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president. The endorsement, announced in an open letter obtained exclusively by USA TODAY, includes 238 signatures, marking a significant political shift.

The letter, which follows the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, showcases the growing discontent within the GOP. At least five former aides to President George H.W. Bush also signed the letter. This group echoes a similar coalition of anti-Trump Republicans who supported President Joe Biden in 2020.

The letter states, “We reunite today, joined by new George H.W. Bush alumni, to reinforce our 2020 statements and, for the first time, jointly declare that we’re voting for Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz this November.”

Signatories include prominent figures such as Mark Salter and Chris Koch, former chiefs of staff to McCain; Jean Becker, longtime chief of staff for George H.W. Bush; and David Nierenberg, Romney’s 2012 campaign finance chair. They cite concerns over Donald Trump’s leadership and the potential impact of his policies, notably Project 2025.

The group calls on moderate Republicans and independents to “take a brave stand once more” and support Harris in the upcoming election. The Harris campaign has actively highlighted its support from anti-Trump Republicans, launching a “Republicans for Harris” group and featuring Republican speakers at the convention.

The letter concludes with a warning about the consequences of another Trump presidency, both domestically and abroad, urging voters to prioritize the country’s future over party loyalty. This endorsement represents a growing trend of Republican leaders opposing Trump’s re-election.

The full letter could be read here.

Jermaine Dupri Gets Absolutely Cooked For His Take On Kamala Harris’ Lack Of Action

Jermaine Dupri recently issued a hot take via Twitter about Kamala Harris’ perceived inefficiency as a political figure in the White House, and the replies were quite scathing. “Real quick, I want to talk about the DNC,” he began. “I feel like the DNC has been going amazing. But I also feel like tonight, Kamala Harris has a pretty difficult job, right? And it’s interesting because the Republican correspondent that’s been doing the round-up after the DNC has ended [every night], he asked the question that I kind of asked Kamala when we had our second meeting. You know, the fact that she’s in office right now, she’s in the White House right now.

“And the guy, he said, ‘What makes y’all believe that she’s going to get this stuff done if she becomes President if she’s already in the [White] House?’” Jermaine Dupri pondered. “And it’s a tricky question because I asked Kamala basically the same thing, right? In so many words. I asked her, as the Vice President, why they don’t let her talk when Biden seems like he needed someone to speak up for him. I thought that’s what the role of the Vice President was: to help the President.” Check out the criticisms of this take, as well as his full statement, in the Instagram post below.

Jermaine Dupri Wonders Whether Kamala Harris Can Be An Effective President, And Twitter Roasted Him For It

“Basically, she kind of let me know that her hands was tied,” Jermaine Dupri continued. “That they didn’t really allow her to be a voice like that in that space. And tonight, I want to see if she even touches on this. Because if she doesn’t touch on it, that’s the question that I feel like the people that have mixed decisions about voting for her, this is one of the questions.

This is the top question that they have,” Jermaine Dupri concluded. “Like I said, this is what the Republicans are saying. They never heard the part about her hands being tied. If she says something about her hands being tied, it makes it look like the White House or the Democratic Party didn’t really want her to exceed. So she can’t really say her hands was tied. But she does have to step into that space. This is something I do believe.”

Plies Questions Black Men Who Don’t Support Kamala Harris

Plies addresses Black voters who won’t be supporting Kamala Harris in the upcoming Presidential Election in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday. In doing so, he told them to look to their own daughters or nieces. “Dear Black Men Who Searching For Reason To Not Like @KamalaHarris Look Your Daughters Or Nieces In Their Face & Tell Them It’ll Be Men Like Yourself. Who Are Going To Question Their Blackness, Their Resume & Their Existence! If They Ever Try To Do The Impossible In This Country!!” Plies wrote.

His argument garnered mixed results from his followers. One user replied: “We evaluate political figures based on their policies, actions, and track record, regardless of their race or gender. Holding our leaders accountable ensures that those in power genuinely advocate for the interests of the communities they represent.” Others agreed with the “Hypnotized” rapper. “Talk to em!!!” one user wrote.

Beyoncé Didn’t Perform At The DNC, And Now Fans Wonder If It Was All A Ruse To Get Them To Watch Kamala Harris’ Speech

Ever since the Kamala Harris Presidential campaign started using Beyoncé’s 2016 hit “Freedom” in its ads and rallies, rumors that Beyoncé herself would perform at the Democratic National Convention didn’t so much “swirl online” as “auditioned for the sequel to a certain weather-based blockbuster from earlier this summer.”

Alas, said rumors turned out to be bunk. According to a spokesperson for Cowboy Carter, “Beyoncé was never scheduled to be there. The report of a performance is untrue.” Naturally, fans are being very chill about this online… if by “chill,” you mean questioning whether the rumor was a bait-and-switch to get them to watch Harris’ speech as she accepted the Democratic Party’s nomination for Presidential candidate. There were also some who posited that the rumor was planted by everyone from Pink, who showed up ahead of Harris’ speech, to the Democratic Party itself.

Of course, TMZ is certainly to blame for some of this, and that organization also offered a mea culpa on Twitter. But it wasn’t all bad; many of those who did tune in were very complimentary of Harris’ speech, and some have already set their sights on another potential date for a Beyoncé appearance: at Kamala’s potential inauguration day in 2025 should she manage to beat Donald Trump at the polls in November.

Also the Las Vegas Aces’ funniest player, Sydney Colson, said this, so it maybe it was all worth it.

Beyoncé Will Reportedly Perform At The Democratic National Convention’s Final Night

The 2024 Democratic National Convention is turning out to be quite historic, as Kamala Harris has officially been named the first-ever woman of either Black or Asian heritage to be nominated the official Presidential candidate of the Democratic Party. What’s more, this year’s DNC has had guests reflective of the optimism inspired by her nomination, with Lil Jon putting in an appearance, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” receiving play, and reportedly, even Beyoncé preparing to put in a performance. After bringing on Megan Thee Stallion, Charli XCX, and using Beyoncé’s “Freedom” in a campaign ad, Harris’ play for the Presidency is getting a co-sign from the Queen of the Renaissance herself, according to TMZ.

Per TMZ’s sources, Beyoncé is in Chicago, where the convention is being held, and law enforcement has been placed on “high alert” as Chicago Police Department has been assigned to security for the DNC. Some delegates in attendance are even dressed up in Cowboy Carter-styled attire, just in case Bey shows up — and it’s fair to think that they might have some insider information on that count. As for what song she’ll perform, if any… The smart money is obviously on “Freedom,” which has soundtracked the Harris campaign to date. Stay tuned.
