Vice President Kamala Harris made a notable appearance on The Shade Room for TSR Newz, marking her first interview with the outlet since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee. During the conversation, Harris highlighted her campaign’s efforts to expand economic opportunities for Black Americans and discussed her strategy for securing Black male voters.

Harris also addressed former President Donald Trump’s withdrawal from a 60 Minutes interview and the second debate, questioning, “What is Donald Trump trying to hide? What is his staff and his team trying to keep from you?”

In discussing her campaign’s vision, Harris outlined an expanded economic agenda, contrasting it with Trump’s approach. She focused on building economic equity for underserved communities, underscoring her dedication to achieving tangible progress.

Addressing polling data showing her receiving 80% of Black male voters compared to Biden’s 87% in 2020, Harris pushed back, stating, “That’s not my experience, and election day has not arrived yet. The most important point is that I’m not assuming I have Black men’s votes in my back pocket. Black men expect you to earn their vote, just like anyone else.”

She emphasized the importance of her ongoing work, listening to the community, and making her case to voters. “I’m running for president of the United States, and it’s my responsibility to earn their support. That’s why I’m talking with folks about the work I’ve done throughout my career.”

On Monday (Oct. 14), Vice President Kamala Harris revealed a list of policies focused on Black men,, according to The Huff Post.

Harris’ “Opportunity Agenda for Black Men” includes many proposals to boost economic and social opportunities. Among the key initiatives are providing one million loans to Black entrepreneurs and investing in Black male mentorship. Other initiatives include protecting cryptocurrency assets and legalizing recreational marijuana to ensure Black men’s participation in the growing industry.

In addition, Harris announced a health equity initiative targeting diseases that disproportionately affect Black men, such as diabetes and prostate cancer.

These policies stem from her ongoing nationwide economic opportunity tour, including visits to cities like Atlanta, Charlotte, and Detroit. During these stops, Harris discussed their economic and health challenges with Black men.

With Election Day just weeks away, former President Barack Obama has hit the campaign trail to support Vice President Kamala Harris. On Thursday (Oct. 10), Obama traveled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a crucial battleground state where polls between the candidates remain close.

Recalling his famous campaign slogan “Yes, We Can,” Obama introduced a new version in support of Harris: “Yes, She Can.” He praised the vice president as “a leader who has spent her life fighting on behalf of people who need a voice and a chance.”

In his speech, Obama addressed the challenges Americans have faced in recent years, from the pandemic to rising inflation. He expressed empathy for the difficulties many are enduring, while also emphasizing the importance of leadership in such times.

Obama didn’t shy away from criticizing former President Donald Trump, describing him as “out-of-touch” and mocking Trump’s often lengthy and unfocused rally speeches, which he referred to as “word salad.” He also called out Trump for spreading misinformation, particularly concerning recent claims about FEMA’s response to Hurricane Helene. Trump has accused the administration of neglecting storm victims and redirecting FEMA funds to Democratic-leaning areas and migrants—allegations the administration has strongly denied.

“Everybody knew it wasn’t true, even local Republicans said it wasn’t true,” Obama said. He expressed dismay over Trump’s behavior, asking, “The idea of intentionally trying to deceive people in their most vulnerable moments—when did that become okay?”

Obama’s stop in Pittsburgh marked the beginning of a broader campaign tour across key swing states. He previously spoke at a campaign fundraiser in California and at the Democratic National Convention.

Next week, former President Bill Clinton is expected to join the campaign effort, with plans to rally support for Harris in the rural South, according to a campaign spokesperson.

Trump Questions VP Kamala Harris Race at NABJ Conference: 'She Happened to Turn Black'

Former President Donald Trump, 78, reportedly used an offensive term to refer to Vice President Kamala Harris during a private dinner with billionaire donors, according to a report by The New York Times. The incident allegedly occurred on Sunday, Sept. 29, at Trump’s Trump Tower penthouse.

During the gathering, Trump reportedly aired grievances about the 2024 presidential race and expressed frustration over his lack of appreciation from key donors. The Times reported that Trump used the term “re—–” while discussing Harris, who is set to be his opponent on the presidential ballot come Election Day.

The dinner reportedly included notable figures such as former Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, hedge fund manager Paul Singer, and investment banker Warren Stevens.

Late last month, while speaking in Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump discussed reducing crime. He suggested a policy like those in The Purge would solve the issue.

“If you had really violent day, with Mike Kelly, congressman Kelly in charge for one day,” Trump said. “A chain of events that’s so bad, one rough hour, I mean real rough, the word would get out and it would end immediately.”

Lil Pump shared a picture of himself wearing a white t-shirt with the phrase, “F*ck Talor [sic] Swift,” written on it for his latest Instagram post. In the caption, he wrote: “JUST A QUICK REMINDER FOR THE SWIFTIES.” It’s the latest of several posts Pump has directed at Swift since she endorsed Kamala Harris in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election. Swift made her endorsement of Harris in a post on Instagram, earlier this month, after the Vice President took on Trump in a presidential debate. She wrote: “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”

Janet Jackson’s Alleged Manager Breaks His Silence After Being Fired Over Kamala Harris Apology

Janet Jackson’s alleged former manager, Mo Elmasri, says that the legendary singer fired her after he put out a statement on her behalf apologizing for questioning Kamala Harris‘ race. Jackson had done so during an interview with The Guardian over the weekend. “Janet respects Harris’ dual heritage as both Black and Indian and apologizes for any confusion caused,” Elmasri’s statement said. Soon after it was released, a representative for Jackson clarified that she hadn’t approved the message.

“I no longer work for her,” Elmasri then confirmed to Variety in an email. “I was fired by Janet and Randy, after attempts to improve her image in front of public opinion and her fans, and this is something I do not deserve.” He added that Kamala Harris has “all my support.”

Over 400 Economists Endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for President Amid Economic Policy Debate

Battleground Voters React to Vice President Harris’ Optimistic Nomination Speech

As Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump prepare to deliver speeches on the economy this week, over 400 independent economists and policy experts have endorsed Harris for President. They praised her vision for an “Opportunity Economy” that focuses on supporting middle-class families and small businesses.

The endorsement was issued through an open letter from leading economists, adding momentum to Harris’ New Way Forward agenda. This endorsement follows previous support from nearly 100 business leaders and the Leadership Now Project, which have also backed Harris’ economic plans to lower costs and expand opportunities for families.

Meanwhile, Trump has proposed a controversial national sales tax as part of his Project 2025 agenda. According to Moody’s, experts, including 16 Nobel laureates, warn that Trump’s plan could lead to inflation, raise taxes on families by $4,000, and trigger a recession by mid-2025.

The letter endorsing Harris features signatures from prominent economists representing universities nationwide, including former Federal Reserve officials, Treasury secretaries, and Nobel Prize recipients.

Janet Jackson Sparks Outrage Online For Her Controversial Kamala Harris Take

A lot of celebrities these days are endorsing either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump for U.S. President, whether their takes are based in actual policy agreements or not. Moreover, it’s been a controversial ride to see what discussions, debates, and combative back-and-forths occur as a result, especially in the hip-hop world. However, outside of that conversation, Janet Jackson recently ruffled a lot of feathers online during her recent interview with The Guardian. In it, the interviewer asked her about the prospect of potentially getting the first female president – and the first Black female president – in United States history.

“Well, you know what they supposedly said?” Janet Jackson asked the interviewer, who had asked the singer this Kamala Harris question due to her own references to social justice and racial equity. “She’s not Black. That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian.” “Well, she’s both,” the interviewer replied, referencing Harris’ Jamaican father and Kamala’s mother’s view of her as a Black daughter. “Her father’s white,” Janet responded. “That’s what I was told. I mean, I haven’t watched the news in a few days. I was told that they discovered her father was white.”

Janet Jackson’s Thoughts On Kamala Harris

Then, the interviewer asked Janet Jackson whether she thinks that the United States is “ready for [Kamala Harris]” as, if not a Black woman, then as a woman of color. “I don’t know,” she posited. “Honestly, I don’t want to answer that because I really, truthfully, don’t know. I think either way it goes is going to be mayhem.” Of course, this led to a whole variety of reactions from fans who came across this, as they either agree with the Las Vegas concert resident or condemned her assessment of Harris’ racial identity. You can see some of these takes down below.

Elsewhere, Janet Jackson shocked fans recently for much less serious reasons: her relation to a whole lot of celebrities. “[Stevie Wonder is] our cousin. Not a lot of people know that,” she said on BBC Radio 2. “He’s our cousin on my mother’s side. So is Tracy Chapman.” So is Samuel L. Jackson, apparently. Talent runs in the family…
