Leon Bridges Made A Surprise Appearance At Justin Bieber’s LA Show

During the LA stop at his Justice World Tour last night, Justin Bieber brought out Leon Bridges for a surprise performance. The Fort Worth, Texas-native then proceeded to perform “River” from his 2015 debut album, Coming Home.

Bridges released his most recent album, Gold-Diggers Sound, last July, which featured prominent production by Ricky Reed. Last month, he teamed up with fellow Texas musical trio Khruangbin for a collaborative EP called Texas Moon.

“Being under ‘the machine,’ you kind of have to adhere to whatever the label’s ideas are or whatever producer you’re working with,“ Bridges said of the EP in our cover story last month. “And whenever I’m doing that it’s more polished, but it’s still a vibe. Although I think my collaboration with Khruangbin is really where my heart is. I love how raw our sound is.”

Last night’s LA show was the first of two shows Bieber has planned at Crypto.com Arena on his Justice World Tour, which will take the Grammy-nominated “Peaches” singer across North America through June. Bridges is set to kick off a tour next month in Tulsa, Oklahoma, before making apperances at Hangout Festival and Glastonbury this summer.

Bieber announced last month that he would partner with Propeller and Live Free to local and national social justice organizations, including the REFORM Alliance, National Resources Defense Council, Fund For Guaranteed Income, and Last Prisoner Project.

Omah Lay And Justin Bieber Dance Around A Fire In The Video For Their Rhythmic Collab ‘Attention’

Justin Bieber has found himself working more with afrobeats artists in recent years, like when he jumped on WizKid’s “Essence” remix and recruited Alpha P and Omah Lay for “Peaches (Masterkraft Remix),” both in 2021. Now, Bieber and Lay have reunited, as Bieber features on a new tune from the Nigerian artist, “Attention,” which also arrives alongside a video.

Lay told Billboard of the song:

“‘Attention’ is one of those songs where I’m just saying the truth, where I’m telling my story. It’s basically about sometime in everybody’s life, you’re lonely. You can’t just always have somebody all the time. Especially as an adult. That was actually the headspace that I was in when I made this song, a little lonely. I want the people that are going through the same thing to feel like I was talking to them. I’m human. I’m just like them. I feel exactly the same way they feel.”

Lay also explained how the track came together, saying of the fateful Los Angeles recording session, “I was in the studio one day with Harv [a frequent Bieber collaborator]. As soon as I heard the beat, the lyrics were already in my head. We didn’t even spend 30 minutes making the song. Harv called him and I FaceTimed Justin Bieber for the first time in my life. Later on, Harv got to play the song for him, and […] before I knew it, he sent in his verse and the song was good just like that.”

Lay also noted, “One thing I loved about working with Justin Bieber was how easy it was. I didn’t even expect it to be that simple.”

Kodak Black Was One Of Four People Injured During A Fight Outside Of A Justin Bieber After Party

Early Saturday morning, TMZ reported that Kodak Black was involved in a fight that resulted in four injuries, three from gunshot wounds and one in an as-yet-unrevealed way. The incident occurred outside of The Nice Guy in Los Angeles, where Justin Bieber was hosting an after party that had a guest list including Drake, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Kendall Jenner, and Khloe Kardashian. Now, in a new update, it’s been reported that Kodak Black himself was one of the three people who suffered gunshot wounds as a result of the fight.

TMZ says Kodak was hit in the leg during the scuffle and that he’s in stable condition at an area hospital. The publication reports that Kodak attended Bieber’s after party with no issues, but it’s when he left that things took a turn. While he and his team were leaving, someone in Kodak’s crew was allegedly jumped which caused Kodak himself to hop in the mess to defend his associate. In a video provided by TMZ, Kodak can be seen throwing punches, and not too long after that, gunshots can be heard.

Law enforcement says ten rounds of gunshots were fired during the fight. Officials have yet to identify any suspect(s) in the incident and the gunman remains at large.

Kodak Black Was Involved In A Fight Outside Of A Party For Justin Bieber And It Led To Four People Being Shot

On Friday night, Justin Bieber held a performance in West Hollywood at the Pacific Design Center. Afterward, he threw a after party nearby at The Nice Guy, and according to TMZ, the event featured a stacked guest list that included Drake, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Kendall Jenner, and Khloe Kardashian. Things were initially smooth sailing, but at around 3 am local time, a fight broke out outside the after venue. Before the chaos began, Kodak Black was standing on the street smiling and talking alongside Gunna and Lil Baby. When things got out of hand, he reportedly got involved, taking a swing at someone.

The fight was caught on camera and video was provided by TMZ. Shortly after Kodak throws a punch, gunshots can be heard, which causes everyone in the area to flee the scene. Law enforcement told TMZ that four people were injured after ten rounds of gunshots were fired. Officers add that the wounded individuals are all in stable condition and that the suspect(s) remain at large.

The fight and the shooting that followed come after Kodak Black had his trespassing charges from a Florida arrest dropped. He was detained on New Year’s Eve in his hometown of Pompano Beach for failing to comply with a cease and desist letter.
