The City Girls are in full album mode. The duo of JT and Yung Miami are gearing up to release their new album RAW tonight. It’s their first project since 2020’s City On Lock and has been preceded by a number of singles earlier this year. They’ve also teased some of the new songs set to appear on the project. One of them features a sung hook from one of 2022’s breakout pop stars Kim Petras. The album has had a pretty short promotional period with the official announcement coming just last week and the album cover being revealed earlier this week.

In preparation for the album dropping, JT clarified something for her fans online. “City girls don’t have one bad album! Can’t believe this is our 4th project! don’t forget where a lot of you b*tches got y’all direction from!” she tweeted earlier today. In the comments, fans debate the merit of their claims. Some try to bring up other names like Cardi B or Lil Kim who they think have been more influential. Others give JT and Yung Miami credit and cite specific examples of their work as trendsetters. JT Claims City Girls Have No Bad Projects

Recently the City Girls showed up for the BET Hip-Hop Awards where they previewed a song from their new album. That song was their newest single “Face Down.” The track is a raunchy banger that dropped last month before the official announcement of the album. They also performed JT’s debut solo single “No Bars” from earlier this year.

Kali Uchis Revealed The ‘Orquídeas’ Tracklist And It Features Collabs With Peso Pluma, Karol G, Rauw Alejandro, And More

Kali Uchis will ring in 2024 with her new album, Orquídeas, which arrives at the top of the year. This album will be sung primarily in Spanish, demonstrating Uchis’ talents across various musical landscapes.

Ahead of the album, Uchis has shared the song “Muñekita,” which features rapper El Alfa and JT from City Girls. She is also dropping a new single, “Te Mata” this Friday (October 20).

Today (October 18), Uchis has taken to Instagram to reveal the album’s tracklist, which features all Spanish titles (with the exception of a song called “Young, Rich & In Love”), as well as some promising collaborators. Though the tracklist artwork doesn’t reveal the features, a Spotify billboard shared a more detailed tracklist in tandem with Uchis’ reveal.

Peso Pluma, Karol G, and Rauw Alejandro are all expected to appear on Orquídeas, and these collaborations are guaranteed to be fire.

After heavy online discourse and several delays, City Girls’ third studio album, RAW (Real Ass Wh*res) is nearly here. Critics may push back against their subject matter, but their tried-and-true fan base loves it. Given the title of the forthcoming album, there will be another more p*ssy rap for all the detractors to complain about.

Here’s everything you need to know about City Girls’ RAW, including the release date, artwork, and more.

During an interview with VIBE, member Yung Miami spoke about their joint goal for the body of work: “We just wanna show that we are authentic, ourselves, and raw. We just wanted to bring that City Girl energy, fun music, and alter ego music for women. Raw, real-ass women, real b*tches. And that’s just what it is. I hope that our fans will be able to see our growth. I hope that they’ll be able to see that we put our blood, sweat, and tears into this album. This album means so much to us. It’s been three years. This is our first real album since JT been home, and it’s a body of work.”

Due to past issues with projects being leaked, City Girls seemingly decided to keep their tracklist a secret until it hits streaming platforms. Once the tracklist is revealed, this section will be updated.

Singles

So far, City Girls have released several singles, including “Act Bad” with Diddy featuring Fabolous, “Top Notch” featuring Fivio Foreign, “I Need A Thug,” “Pinata,” and “Face Down,” that provide a taste of what’s to come with the project. However, whether these tracks will appear on RAW is unclear.

Tour

As of today (October 17), City Girls has not announced a formal tour to support the album. They haven’t had a major headlining run throughout their career due to several circumstances, including member JT’s past legal battles, which resulted in a short prison stint. However, the duo has consistently made festival appearances. Last year, they hit the road with Jack Harlow as opening support. With the slated release of RAW, if the group does decide to embark on a tour, this could mark their first major headlining tour.

City Girls Share Fierce Album Cover For “RAW”

The City Girls are officially back. After teasing a new project for weeks they formally announced the album’s name last week. RAW is the official title, which secretly stands for “Real A*s Wh*res.” During the announcement, they promised that the album was coming this month and they delivered. A few days later they shared a trailer confirming that the project will release later this week on October 20.

Now JT and Yung Miami have shared to album cover for the project. The cover features the duo posed in front of a trio of overlapping cheetah print spotlights. It’s a vibrant and catty cover that seems to perfectly match the energy of the duo’s music. In the comments, fans share their excitement for the duo’s first new album since 2020. “After 3 long years, we is,” and “can’t wait boo” two of the top comments read both accompanied by plenty of heart-eye emojis. City Girls’ New Album Drops This Week

A new album from both the City Girls isn’t the only thing fans have to look forward to. Earlier this year, JT released her first single as a solo artist. Miami rap duo City Girls is three years removed from the release of their last album, City On Lock. Since then, they haven’t lost any of their momentum while pursuing other projects, including solo singles and Yung Miami’s show Caresha Please. This month, they’ll build on the foundation they’ve already laid with their third studio album, RAW, which they announced during last night’s BET Hip-Hop Awards.

The album’s title is an acronym, which stands for “Real Ass Wh*res,” and its release date will be next Friday, October 20. They’ve released a steady stream of singles this year, including “Face Down,” “I Need A Thug,” and “Piñata,” and while none has been a runaway hit like “Act Up,” they’ve been enough to drive excitement among the girls’ hardcore day-one fans — which is usually all you need at times like these. Meanwhile, they also delivered a crowd-pleasing performance at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, proving that demand for their services is still just as high as ever.

The BET Hip Hop Awards were broadcast overnight and they featured performances from some of the biggest names in hip hop. DaBaby, Sexyy Redd, Fivio Foreign, and GloRilla all took the stage to play some of their new songs. There were also tributes to Jermain Dupri’s So So Def Recordings and Marley Marl who was receiving the I Am Hip Hop award. There was also a performance from JT and Yung Miami, AKA City Girls.

The pair played two songs. First JT stepped up to play her debut solo single “No Bars.” The track dropped earlier this year and was followed by an announcement in an interview that she was planning on making an entire solo album eventually. After that, the duo played their newest single “Face Down.” The sexually charged banger dropped back in artists and has racked up nearly 3 million Spotify streams since. City Girls Reveal Name And Release Details Of New Album

Earlier this week JT had a photo shoot and accompanying interview with Interview Magazine, In the piece she discusses how she’s planning on releasing a solo album, but not before the new City Girls project drops. Now in a new clip, the duo are sharing some details on just how soon fans can expect new material from them. In the video, they announced their album is called R.A.W, which stands for “Real A*s Wh*res.” It also won’t be long before fans get a chance to listen to it.

While the pair didn’t give a specific date that fans can put in their calendar, they did make a big promise. They told fans that the album was coming out this month. That means if it releases on a standard Friday, there are only 3 more chances for them to follow up on that promise. While this upcoming weekend has some notable releases with new albums from Offset and Bad Bunny, the rest of the month is likely fair game for the duo to release their new project. Besides being one of the best-known female groups making music today, City Girls JT and Yung Miami keep busy with plenty of other side projects. Between studio sessions with her partner in rhyme, the latter spends plenty of time with her two children and her Papi Diddy, as well as hosting her REVOLT podcast, Caresha Please. JT has been in a long-term relationship with Lil Uzi Vert for as long as we can remember and has notably always had a passion for fashion. Earlier in the summer she launched a clothing project that was well-received among fans, and now, the Florida native is expanding her modelling portfolio.

On Monday (September 19), fashion brand Mowalola unveiled photos from their latest campaign shoot – a collaboration with Beats By Dre. In the image below, JT models the famous silver headphones in an unusual way – covering her eye rather than her ears – while sporting a much more colourful hairstyle than usual. They clearly weren’t going for a conventional vibe, but not everyone on social media understood that. “Beats By Dre headphone covering her eye. Ok,” one critic wrote.

It seems the two women came together, along with other famous friends, to celebrate Solange’s new glassware collection. City Girls’ ‘Face Down’ Single Is A Sassy Response To The Growing Discussion That They’ve Changed Their Ways

Finding love doesn’t mean a self-proclaimed baddie has abandoned the movement’s manifesto. The club’s head figures, City Girls, can attest to this. The rap duo (consisting of Yung Miami and JT) are both happily linked to other entertainers, but instead of walking away from the cause, they’ve doubled down on the core principles. On their new Mike WiLL Made-It & P-Nasty-produced single, “Face Down,” the group offers a sassy response to the growing online discussion that they’ve changed their ways.

As if the Girls Gone Wild-inspired cover art for the record didn’t send a clear enough message, out the gate Yung Miami declares her allegiance to the City Girls lifestyle, rapping, “Face down, ass up, sl*t me out / I don’t even let a broke n**** eat me out / He know this p*ssy stay wet in the middle of droughts / I make him face me, nasty, squ*rt in his mouth / I need that car paid for and a new house / Said ‘Do I look basic? Wife me now’ / I heard cash rules, let me show you how / Bettеr spend that sh*t, baby, ice me out.”

The listener knows she means business thanks to the distraught clip of her beau, Diddy, leaving a designer storefront after one of her extravagant shopping sprees.

JT follows it up, rapping, “If he ain’t blowin’ a bag, b*tch, pick a better n**** / I’m in that new coupe, might go vroom-vroom / B*tches that be hatin’ on me really ain’t got no room / I mean literally, no house b*tch, no room / I’m a city girl, so he gotta be a tycoon / Face down, ass up, that’s the way I like to f*ck / You want a b*tch from the city, huh? Adding to their growing tribute to Miami hip-hop legend Luke, “Face Down” contains a sample of his 1990 song “Face Down, Ass Up” featuring 2 Live Crew. The record is the latest offering from the pair following after “Good Love,” “I Need A Thug,” “Piñata,” and “Act Bad,” with Diddy featuring Fabolous further fueling their claims that an album is on the way.
