6ix9ine Bounces Back From Gym Beatdown With “WAPAE” Single Feat. Angel Dior, Lenier, And Bullin 47

6ix9ine has always been one to move differently from his peers. While that may have previously landed him in hot water – particularly during his recent gym beatdown – it’s also done him some favours and is likely why his new “WAPAE” single landed on Saturday (April 15), rather than on New Music Friday. The New Yorker went on an impressive venture around the world to film the upbeat song’s accompanying video, which 6ix9ine says he mostly shot on his iPhone.

“WAPAE OUT NOW 💚💙🧡💜💛❤,” the controversial entertainer wrote in the Instagram caption of his announcement post this afternoon. He shouted out his collaborators, Angel Dior, Lenier, and Bullin 47, before adding, “THIS VIDEO I ALSO FILMED 70% OF IT ON MY PHONE 😂🌈. THANK YOU UGANDA 🇺🇬 THANK YOU DOMINICAN REPUBLIC 🇩🇴 FOR HOSTING THIS VIDEO I HAD SO MUCH FUN. 🇨🇴🇨🇺🇲🇽🇵🇷🇩🇴🇺🇬🇳🇬🇧🇴🇵🇪🇭🇳 🇷🇴 🇸🇻 🇦🇷🇧🇷🇨🇳🇰🇾🇨🇲🇪🇨🇩🇪🇰🇿🇯🇲🇲🇩🇳🇿🇱🇾🇯🇵🇸🇰🇷🇸🇵🇦🇿🇦🇹🇹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇺🇸🇸🇩🇪🇭🇻🇺🇮🇱🇦🇺🇳🇱🇭🇹🇸🇳🇻🇪🇨🇮🇱🇾🇵🇰🇹🇹.”

6ix9ine Has a Blast in the “WAPAE” Music Video

Even with the recent trials and tribulations of being brutally attacked, it’s obvious that 6ix9ine has been overflowing with creativity. In the “WAPAE” music video we see him smiling from ear to ear while dancing with exuberant groups of local children, also getting up close and personal in the shower with a beautiful woman. “Oh, my baby, what a rich thing / That mulatto, with that little waist / She has everything, she is very pretty / Her type is me, nobody takes her away from me,” his first verse, when translated to English, goes.

Aside from this weekend’s release, the only other song we’ve heard from 26-year-old so far in 2023 is “Bori.” That arrived on the final Friday of March and also sees him working with Lenier. See 6ix9ine’s new “WAPAE” visual for yourself on YouTube above, or add the track to your playlist on Spotify/Apple Music. Chris Brown & Ciara’s Upcoming Collaboration Is “Fire,” He Says

Ahead of his headlining performance at Rolling Loud Thailand later tonight (April 14), Chris Brown confirmed earlier this week that he’s got new music on the way. The last time we heard from the Virginia-born crooner was on his collaboration with Chlöe, “How Does It Feel,” which notably received mixed reviews from audiences. For his next release, Breezy will seemingly be reuniting with Ciara, and according to his Instagram Story earlier this week, the recording artists have something seriously special in store.

“ME AND @ciara got some 🔥🔥🔥🔥 coming 👀,” the father of three wrote over a black screen on Thursday (April 13) morning. Brown and Ciara previously made magic together in 2009, with their “Turntables” joint effort that arrived on the fashionista’s Fantasy Ride album. More recently, they also attempted to bring their talents together for the R&B icon’s Michael Jackson tribute at the 2022 American Music Awards. Unfortunately for both, the presentation was cancelled at the last minute, with producers seemingly taking issues with Brown’s unflattering past, especially in conjunction with the allegations his honoree faced during his own life.

Breezy Brags About New Song

Of course, the “Kiss Kiss” hitmaker didn’t explicitly state that he and Ciara are working on music. Both artists happen to also be skilled dancers, and fans would surely be just as happy with a project focusing on other talents outside of their vocal range. As HipHopDX notes, collaborating with Brown is a guaranteed way for others to ensure backlash for themselves, though the mother of three has made it clear that she’s willing to stick by her friend, no matter what haters and critics have to say.

Following 2022’s Breezy album, the 33-year-old has steadily shown out on singles like “It’s Giving Christmas,” “Nasty” with Tyga,” and “Do You Mind” alongside Vedo. As for Ciara, her last full-length project, Beauty Marks, arrived back in 2019. She’s since made a comeback thanks to singles like “JUMP” featuring Coast Contra, “Better Thangs” with Summer Walker, and most recently, “Da Girls.” Revisit her throwback “Turntables” link-up with Chris Brown below, and check back later for more music news updates.

NBA YoungBoy & Mariah The Scientist Are Looking In The “Rear View” On Their First Joint Single: Stream

Few artists come with the same sort of consistency as NBA YoungBoy. While he’s been sharing regular releases so far throughout 2023, few of them have seen him collaborating with other artists. He began the year with the 19-track featureless I Rest My Case, which was followed by singles like “Next” and “Demon Party,” also sans accompaniment. Just last week, however, he reunited with Nicki Minaj on “WTF,” which has already amassed upwards of 2.6 million streams on Spotify alone. The two have worked together several times in the past, on titles like “I Admit” and “What That Speed Bout!?”

This New Music Friday (April 14), the Louisana native returned with another joint effort, this one recruiting a rising female R&B star who’s best known for her romance with Young Thug. Mariah the Scientist joins NBA YoungBoy on “Rear View.” It arrived at midnight alongside a beautifully shot visual beginning with the latter reflecting on a toxic relationship with a beautiful sunset unfolding behind him.

For her part, the Atlanta native sings her lyrics while strutting across a football field in a bright purple outfit. “Hussle and fight / But you don’t wanna leave / Take a look in your eyes / I don’t know what I see,” her voice rings out. “You can’t deny / There’s some things you need and / My love is just one of those things.” As RapRadar notes, the new song is set to appear on YB’s forthcoming Don’t Try This At Home album, along with the aforementioned Minaj collab.

Rich The Kid Recruits Lil Tjay For “Do You Love Me?” Single

The last New Music Friday of February is finally upon us, and, as always, we have a hot new selection of singles and albums for your consideration. We’ve already spotlighted releases from Chlöe and Chris Brown, as well as the latest from EST Gee. Now, we’re bringing you yet another collaboration – this one from Rich The Kid and Lil Tjay.

“Do You Love Me?” made its debut on streamers at midnight and is already getting tons of love from each artist’s fanbase. Yoshi and Mozz were responsible for the song’s production and as HipHop24x7 notes, Rita Ora’s vocals appear throughout the intro. It comes in at just over three minutes and follows The Kid’s January joint effort with Famous Dex and Jay Critch.

That single is titled “Where’s Dexter,” and it’s reportedly due to appear on the “Plug Walk” rapper’s forthcoming Life’s A Gamble album. “Do You Love Me?” is also among tracklist contenders. We don’t know what other guest features Rich has in the works at this time. Still, fans are certainly eager to hear his long-awaited follow-up to 2020’s BOSS MAN, his last solo effort.

That same year, The Kid went on to team up with NBA YoungBoy for their collaborative Nobody Safe project. In 2021, he and Lil Wayne also undeniably made their mark with the 10-track Trust Fund Babies mixtape. YG was the only other artist to join them, with all three lyricists markedly showing out on “Buzzin’.”

Ice Spice Joins PinkPantheress For “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” Collaboration: Listen

It’s still relatively early in her career, but Ice Spice continues to achieve milestone after milestone. Not only did the New York native share her highly anticipated Like..? EP last month, but now she’s also got a collaboration with PinkPantheress under her belt as well.

On Friday (February 3), the “Bikini Bottom” hitmaker joined the ethereal songstress on “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2.” The single is a remix of a prior release. It previously appeared on PP’s Take Me Home EP in late 2022.

“When it comes to collaborations, I’m quite picky. I always want someone who can match me well on a track,” the English multi-talent told NME of her new arrival with Spice.

“Even though Ice does drill, her flows are super unique and the beats she chooses are different. A lot of people would struggle with the beats I choose, but I knew she’d be good for it,” Pantheress later added.

For her part, the rapidly rising redheaded starlet comes in strong with clever bars during her verse. “And it been what it been / Callin’ his phone like, ‘Yo, send me your PIN,’” she spits in the track’s later half.

“Duckin’ my shit, ’cause he know what I’m on / But when he hit me I’m not gon’ respond,” Spice teases.

Along with the upbeat new joint song comes an accompanying music video. Throughout the footage, Spice takes Panthress on a tour of her home state.

Of course, the duo is surrounded by their “baddie friends” throughout their adventures. To boot, all of them are stylishly dressed for the occasion.

Stream PinkPantheress’ and Ice Spice’s new collaboration, “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” on Spotify or Apple Music below. Additionally, check back later for more recommendations on our weekly Fire Emoji playlist update.

Macklemore & DJ Premier Shoutout Their “HEROES” On New Collab Track

Several artists have plans for a big comeback in 2023. Among them is Macklemore, whose BEN project is due to drop in early March. This New Music Friday (January 20), the 39-year-old shared the lead single from the forthcoming album, called “HEROES.”

Throughout his verses, the “Thrift Shop” hitmaker pays homage to some of his biggest inspirations. Among them are DJ Quik and N.W.A., the latter of whom Mack allegedly heard for the first time at seven years old.

“Seven, I heard NWA in the street / From my older neighbour who was playin’ ‘F*ck tha Police,’” he rhymes. “Eleven, writin’ graffiti, fifteen, I’m sellin’ weed / By sixteen, I had an MPC / (It was Hip Hop’s fault) That I wanted to grow up.”

As HipHopDX notes, Jake Magraw directed the song’s accompanying music video, which also features DJ Premier. Though he’s usually known for producing, this time around, the 56-year-old drops some bars on the chorus.

“Pick up the mic, put your money where your mouth is / Doin’ petty crimes, back in the days / Too much OE, tipsy off the whiskey / Pick up the, the, the, the mic, the, the, the mic,” he rhymes over the infectious beat crafted by Joshua “Budo” Karp.

In a previously released trailer for the collaboration, the DJ reveals he was eager to work with Macklemore due to his authenticity. “From the time you came out doing your shit, all the way up to when you got a name that went to the mainstream…you still held on to the integrity of you as an artist,” Premier explained.

“You know, just the recognition you’re also in it for the love of the culture and that shows.”

The last track we heard from Mack saw him collaborating with NLE Choppa on “FAITHFUL.” Before that, he dropped off “Maniac” last summer, much to fan’s pleasure.

Stream Macklemore and DJ Premier’s “HEROES” single on Spotify or Apple Music below. Afterward, tell us who you’d like to see featured on the former’s BEN album in the comments.

Mind type the psychosis, all the lies and show biz

The start of a new year is obviously the perfect time to embrace new things – including new artists! We’ve already been putting plenty on your radar over the past two weeks, but now, we’ve got something exciting from M. Rumbi for your consideration.

“I wanted to put out more (ALL THE) music this year, so I decided I will release a song every two weeks for the entirety of 2023,” the producer explained in an Instagram post on January 3.

His first release in this new series is “Lose.” It finds him linking up with long-term collaborator Iyanah as well as creative duo BasicCity to curate a magical soundscape that’s sure to hook readers with just one listen.

A press release describes Rumbi’s work as “a catchy and energetic hip-hop track with heavy-hitting 808s, smooth pianos and synths.” However, we still think you should listen for yourself a time or two to really get a feel for cross-cultural creation.

“What have you got to lose? / Dammit, you’re so consumed / I think you got confused / It wasn’t me, it’s you,” the song begins.

Elsewhere on his Instagram page, the producer revealed that he sampled a previously released song of his called “Wonder” to make the beat for “Lose.”

Upon its debut, M. Rumbi revealed that his first track of 2023 has landed on various noteworthy playlists. Among them are New Music Friday in both Kenya and Ghana, plus Spotify’s 254 Flow.

Additionally, a lyric video has made its way onto YouTube so fans of the track can sing along as they groove to the rhythm.

Memphis Rappers Fresco Trey And Brezay Link Up For “Pull Up” Single

Southern hip-hop has been coming up in a big way as of late, with new artists emerging nearly every day to help push the movement forward. One name in particular who’s been standing out from the rest is Fresco Trey. To kick off 2023, he shared his “Pull Up” single, on which he nabbed a feature from another hometown hero, Brezay.

“My inspiration for ‘Pull Up’ really came from the vibe of Memphis,” the “Couple Hunnid” hitmaker explains in a press release. “We invited some local artists to come to the studio and vibe out. When I heard the beat, I jumped in the booth. Then my homegirl Brezay hopped on and killed it!”

He later added, “Since I’m fresh off a heartbreak, I thought it was time to tell all the women to PULL UP! You dig?”

Across the short and snappy track, Trey and Brezay take turns building off each other’s braggadocious bars. Their lyrics are only further amplified by the booming production pulsating under their voices.

Prior to sharing “Pull Up” to kick off 2023, the rising rapper kept his fans fed all throughout 2022. He and HotBlock Jmoe joined forces on “Blame On Us,” and before that, we heard him rolling solo on his moody “Vegan” track.

Other impressive collaborations to land last year are “How Many Times” with Nathan Davis Jr and “Enjoy It” featuring Einer Bankz. The latter follows Trey’s Heartbreak Diaries 2 EP, best known for titles like “Need You” and “24 Hours.”

Chris Brown Joins Vedo On “Do You Mind” Single: Stream

Another New Music Friday is upon us, and several of our favourite R&B artists are coming in hot already in 2023. Earlier, we debuted a new song from Queen Naija, “Let’s Talk About It.” Now, we have a collaborative track from two talented male artists – Vedo and Chris Brown – for your streaming pleasure.

Their joint effort is called “Do You Mind,” and it’s just as catchy and infectious as one would expect from these two. For his part, Breezy flirtatiously lyricizes, “I like what I like, I’m not the type that’s gon’ be stalkin’ you / Oh, I know I’m a player but I’ll wait up, shoot my shot and then I follow through.”

Vedo carries on the chorus as he sings, “Do you mind if I come through? Mind if I touch you? Mind if I mess up your frontal? Pour it up, roll it up, wе can smoke too.”

As Rated R&B notes, the new arrival marks the second single from the artist’s forthcoming Mood Swings project. It’s due out next Friday (January 13) via New Wav Music Group/Island Prolific/EMPIRE.

SAINt JHN & London On Da Track Are Ready To Take Over “Stadiums” With New Song

SAINt JHN’s fanbase has been eagerly awaiting a follow-up to his most recent arrival – 2020’s While The World Was Burning. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as though we’ll be getting it before 2022 comes to an end. However, the singer-songwriter won’t let his listeners go completely without. On Friday (December 15), he returned with his third single of the year, “Stadiums.”

London On Da Track came through with an assist on the new song. It finds our recording artist lyricising about selling out tours and getting rich from trapping.

“Whole club sellin’ out of here to doin’ stadiums / P*ssy n*ggas don’t come around, they don’t survive my radius” he rhymes on the chorus.

On his first verse, the braggadocios energy only continues. “McLaren way too white to be shootin’ at the opps / I’m sleepin’ good at night, see, the door don’t got no locks / I f*cked her to be spiteful, she best friends with the opps / Them bitches that you buyin’ bags, you need better stocks.”

Earlier this year, we heard SAINt JHN show out on “For The Squadron.” The single made its debut in February and has already amassed upwards of 8M streams on Spotify.

On his last LP, the Brooklyn native made tracks with names like Lil Uzi Vert, Ye, Future, DaBaby, JID, Kehlani, 6LACK, and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. It remains unclear who his future releases will see him collaborate with, though we hope the list is equally as star-studded.

Stream SAINt JHN and London On Da Track’s “Stadiums” on Spotify or Apple Music below. Afterward, let us know what your thoughts are in the comments. Additionally, check back in with HNHH later for more new music on our Fire Emoji update.
