Joe Budden Calls Draya Michele A “Predator” As His Co-Host Defends Jalen Green Rumors

Joe Budden has become the latest person to call reality star Draya Michele a “predator” amid the rumors that the 39-year-old year might be expecting a child with 21-year-old NBA star Jalen Green. “We’ve seen so many NBA stars lose their career, and everything, because of women like this,” Budden said. He also went after co-host MeLyssa Ford, who didn’t appear to have an issue with the relationship. “We don’t have twenty minutes to explain something to you that is right there in front of you,” Budden said dismissively.

However, fans were not quite as on board with Budden’s comments. “He loud about this but said he didn’t wanna speak on Diddy in no shape or form Joe hush ,” noted one fan. “Y’all don’t have this energy for Marques Houston tho ,” added another. Furthermore, many people pointed to Budden’s own past a source of hypocrisy. “Wasn’t Cyn Santana only like 4 years older than Jalen when Joe dated and impregnated her at 39?” asked a third commenter. Michele is reportedly dating young Rockets star Jalen Green. For many social media users, the age gap is unacceptable, especially given that Michele’s eldest child is around the same age as Green. Lil Pump’s name never seems to be far from controversy. Currently, the 23-year-old is making waves in hip-hop news thanks to his comments about Joe Budden. The also-controversial podcaster’s name was mentioned in Pump’s Instagram Story on Tuesday (January 23), along with allegations of beating women and struggling with substance abuse. The receipts the young star brought to the table include a screenshot of Budden’s mugshot, as well as one of a Variety article from 2021 when content creator Olivia Dope accused him of sexual harassment.

Ari Lennox has had an eventful past few weeks. It all started right at the end of November when she was performing as the opening act for Rod Wave on his Nostalgia Tour. The performance seems to be going well enough until one of the fans in attendance throws something, later revealed to be a bottle, at Ari on stage. She claps back hard calling out the person who threw it and even threatening to fight them. The viral moment ended when her microphone was cut off and her performance ended early.

Fans responded to the post largely in support of Ari. Across 2023 there was a strange trend of fans throwing objects on stage at artists. While it was occasionally light-hearted, like when Drake had dozens of bras thrown at him on stage during his tour. But at other points, it was much more hostile even resulting in some injuries to performers. Ari took the situation in stride, hilarious donning a helmet during her next performance in reference to the incident. Then earlier this month, she reflected on her time touring with Rod Wave, which didn’t sit right with everyone.

Meanwhile, Kevin Hart went at Katt WIlliams again on his NBA Unplugged show. “Do you entertain the circus or do you watch it?” he inquired to Kendrick Perkins. The 44-year-old also joked that Williams bought the New York Knicks and “returned them with a receipt,” plus some jabs at his comments about being an avid book reader as a child. Overall, it seemed like he backtracked his own remarks about this anger management being sad, and if he was just trying to joke around and be light about the topic, it didn’t really resonate with the crowd.

Moreover, you might know the rumors that Hov wanted to charge Budden $250K for a guest verse, which the latter himself admitted that he couldn’t confirm or deny. However, now he has a different admission about how he handled the Roc-A-Fella boss becoming the head of Joe’s label Def Jam, and the rift that this relationship caused between them. Furthermore, he explained this on The Pivot podcast recently, and broke down why he probably could’ve been a little more nuanced and appreciative in his response to a hip-hop peer becoming his higher-up.

“When Jay-Z got his role as president of Def Jam, I was a young artist on Def Jam trying to work on my second album,” Joe Budden explained. “And at that time, a lot of the artists on Def Jam had an issue with Jay-Z being the president. This was the first time that a rapper, our peer, was calling the shots, in charge of DMX’s release date and [LL COOL J’s] release date.

“None of us took that well. And I really didn’t take it well,” Joe Budden continued. “I didn’t handle myself well at all. Every interview that they booked for me, I kicked their back in. Every chance I got in front of a microphone, I had disparaging things to say about people who, ultimately, were maybe trying to help me. Even if they weren’t trying to help me, if I would’ve helped myself, I would have been in a different predicament. But I didn’t. Gas on the fire.

“In some instances, I maybe went about it the wrong way or expressed myself the wrong way,” he went on, referencing how he fell out with Slaughterhouse and Eminem’s Shady Records, too. “But the intent is always pure. Joe Budden Went Back On His Apology To Logic, Accusing The Rapper Of Lying About Being Suicidal

Joe Budden’s job basically consists of courting controversy at this point. Once a well-respected rapper, he’s since made headlines mostly thanks to his outrageous takes on the Joe Budden Podcast, which seem mainly to be calling more popular artists’ new music “trash” and demeaning people for having mental health issues (which… have you heard a Joe Budden album?).

Of course, he still seemingly reserves some of his more spiteful views for other folks’ podcasts. In a recent episode of The Pivot Podcast on which he appeared, he accused Maryland rapper Logic of lying about being suicidal, despite previously apologizing for bullying the younger artist.

“Logic is full of sh*t,” he said. “I don’t believe him. You can’t know and you can’t prove it. But Logic is full of sh*t… Logic put out a song with mental health as the phone number –- “1-800-whatever-the-f*ck-that-sh*t-was.” Pandering bullsh*t. Everything about Logic is pandery. So there’s really no way to ever tell what’s truthful and what’s not truthful. And since he said [he had suicidal thoughts] I try to take him off my list of people to speak about because I do have a heart. But I do think he’s full of sh*t.”

That’s a pretty far cry from when he apologized to Logic for calling him the “worst rapper ever.” Budden even blamed his comments on his own poor mental health at the time, saying, “Last week, I came in here feeling pretty tumultuous… just hating myself and life, honestly. Unfortunately, I projected some of that onto you, Lodge. And for that, I want to apologize.”

Of course, a couple of weeks later, he was accusing Logic of “reverse bullying” him, so if there’s anyone here who’s untrustworthy, I think fans can puzzle that one out for themselves.

From that moment, fans have been loving how energetic she was. At another point during her conversation with Budden, Minaj was asked about the line in “FTCU” that many have speculated as being a diss, although it’s still unclear about who. (“Stay in your Tory lane, b*tch, I’m not Iggy,” is the lyric in question.)
