50 Cent has a near universal approval rating as a social media presence. He regularly posts hilarious memes, trolls the likes of Diddy, and links up with artists he likes. 50 Cent and Cardi B are both New York legends, and we’re happy to assure readers that there’s no beef brewing between them. Instead, the G-Unit mogul dug up behind-the-scenes footage of Cardi B’s breakout video “Bodak Yellow.” The footage sees Cardi B very clearly freaked out by wild animal she interacts with, and 50 thinks it’s hilarious.

50 Cent posted the footage on his Instagram. The quality is not top-notch, but Cardi B can clearly be seen trying to rap “Bodak Yellow.” As anyone who’s seen the official video can recall, Cardi is holding a leopard on a leash during one of the set-ups. It’s a cool visual, but it’s one that evidently stressed the rapper out. Cardi B raps a few bars before the leopard turns her way and hisses. The rapper is very clearly (and understandably) freaked out by the incident. “Okay, no, no, no,” she tells someone off screen. “Come hold him.” A man is then heard ordering someone to “take him” away from Cardi B.

Obviously, the rapper got through the shoot unscathed. Knowing this, 50 Cent found the footage to be absolutely side-splitting. “Yo this this sh*t had me crying,” he wrote on Instagram. “Cardi said no come get him.” The rapper had a good laugh, but he admitted that he would be just as freaked out to be close to a wild animal without protection. “Lol hahahahaha,” he added. “I be scared of that sh*t too f*ck that.” 50 Cent is no stranger to music video complications, either. In 2012, the rapper was hospitalized shortly after the release of the video for “Complicated.”

50 Cent’s bulletproof SUV was rear-ended by a Mack truck on New York’s Long Island Expressway mere hours after the video dropped. The rapper, along with his driver, were sent to the hospital around 3 a.m. Fortunately, neither man was seriously hurt. According to XXL, they were released within hours. When he’s not scrolling through Instagram, 50 Cent is busy making tons off the streaming profits to his classic single “Many Men (Wish Death).” The song became a meme after the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump, and streaming numbers have shot up a staggering 300%.

Fivio Foreign is the target for Pop Smoke’s brother after discovering the drill artist doesn’t follow the late MC on Instagram. “Yo, I just woke up, but that is actually true. I just looked at his following; he’s not following Pop or Mike Dee”, Obasi Jackson said in an online video. “I mean, f*** Mike Dee. But Pop? Word? Fivio?! Yo, we gotta do something about this fake s***, gang. N****s not gonna show their face at Pop Smoke Day. What’s going on, bro?!”. For someone who was really going through it when Pop Smoke passed, Fivio Foreign was not going to let all of this slander slide.

So, the “Off The Grid” rapper unleashed on Jackson by calling him weird and pointing out how his own brother didn’t even follow him on social media. “That n**** is weirdo don’t believe s*** them cornballs that want attention say. Pop ain’t follow that goofball when he was alive. Tell [him to] stop goin pop smoke crazy after death for the clout boy hated his own brother and pop [ain’t] fucc w this lame head a** n****”. To put this alleged hate for the “For The Night” rapper to bed, Fivio shared some posts online like the one on IG below.

Later, he hopped on IG Live to double down on his love for his late friend and collaborator. “Y’all talking about a follow. Look at this, I have ‘The smoke will never clear’ on my chest”, he said added while showing off his Pop Smoke ink. “Y’all talking about a follow? I don’t know how they unfollow. I know I went through a season of following zero people. I don’t even care”. While Jackson is a “weirdo” in Fivio’s eyes, he is right in that he doesn’t follow Pop. Fans are on the brother’s side for the most part, calling the act disrespectful. However, there are some who feel that people are making mountains out of molehills.

Ralo & YFN Lucci Opt For Unity With Recent Jail Call

Ralo shared a video of him calling up YFN Lucci to discuss his prison sentence as the rapper continues to serve time for a gang-related charge in Atlanta. He posted the clip on Instagram on Monday, showing support for Lucci. Ralo, himself, spent several years in jail on drug charges stemming from an arrest in 2018.

“Imagine being on 23 hour lock down for months,” Ralo wrote in the post. “That sht will f*k up a person head and soul. We gotta give Lucci momma her flowers for holding that sht down for him. I have to beg Lucci to allow me to do sht for his kids cuz that’s all ah n***a got fr. Cardi B is one of the biggest women rappers in the entire world. Overall, she has numerous hits and a debut album that borders on classic territory. However, it has been over six years since we received an album. This has led to numerous debates, and even led to a beef with Joe Budden. Regardless, Cardi has still put out singles and she is still doing features. For instance, she was recently on the song “On Dat Money” with Rob49.

To help promote the song, Cardi B was on her social media, twerking up a storm in a revealing outfit. Unfortunately for her, this act ultimately led to quite a bit of discourse online. Some felt as though she was hypersexualizing herself. This is a criticism that many women rappers have been facing as of late. However, with this latest video, Cardi got it the worst of any artist we have seen in quite some time. In DJ Akademiks’ comments, many were particularly appalled with what they were watching.

“She really need start rapping about some else fr,” one person wrote. “The fact this all women in hip hop rap about in 2024 is repulsive,” said another. To be fair, many of these takes and criticisms have existed for a long time. However, they seem to be more prominent than ever. Drake Poses In Tupac Shirt Amidst Ongoing Kendrick Lamar Feud

Drake loves giving mixed messages. The rapper has “officially” put the Kendrick Lamar battle behind him. Per DJ Akademiks, Drake is getting back to giving fans who love him “what they love.” That being said, he hasn’t eased up on the trolling. Drizzy may no longer be in the diss record mode, but he hasn’t let up when it comes to sending subliminals K. Dot’s way. The latest is arguably his most obvious yet. Drake decided to post a photo of him wearing a Tupac shirt with the text “Only God Can Judge Me.”

Anybody with a cursory knowledge of the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle know the relevance that the late Tupac Shakur has for both men. Drake used Tupac’s voice to diss Lamar on the AI-assisted “Taylor Made Freestyle.” He also flaunted the fact that he bought Tupac’s personalized ring for $1 million. Dot, meanwhile, considers Tupac to be his favorite artist. He famously conversed with the “ghost” of ‘Pac on To Pimp a Butterfly (2015), and has tributed him multiple times over the years. He took Drake’s slander of the rapper to heart, and incorporated it into his number one hit “Not Like Us.” “You think the Bay ‘gon let you disrespect ‘Pac, n**ga,” he raps. “I think that Oakland show gon’ be your last stop, n**ga.”

Kendrick Lamar worked in yet another dig at Drake during his “Pop Out” show on Juneteenth. He changed the lyrics to “Euphoria” to send a message directly to the 6 God: return Tupac’s ring and the Compton king will afford him some respect. Naturally, Drake rejected the offer. Instead, he’s decided to double down on the Lamar trolling with his new shirt. “Only God Can Judge Me” is a song from Tupac’s penultimate album, All Eyez on Me, and the kind of grandiose sentiment that the 6 God would apply to his own legacy.

Drake has, admittedly, voiced his adoration for Tupac in the past. During a 2011 interview with The Boombox, the rapper claimed that he aspired to be more like ‘Pac in his own life. “He was somebody who was a free spirit and he did not care,” he opined. “He just did what he felt. I wish I could have a little more ‘Pac to my persona. I’m working on it.” Things have obviously taken a different turn for the 6 God in the intervening years.

Azealia Banks is the latest artist to hop on a remix of Tinashe’s hit song, “Nasty,” after Tyga and Chloe Bailey both added verses to the track, last week. While Banks hasn’t dropped an official version of the remix, she filmed herself recording it in a new video on social media. When The Neighborhood Talk posted the clip, fans in the comments section were impressed with the performance.

“She’s talented always has been. One of the mains that started rapping over house beats. Gotta give her that I wish she just was an artist … like she never had rants … I really wish she just did music … her and Kanye like just do music please LMAO,” one user commented. Another similarly wrote: “Her and Khia remind me of each other. Both talented but both lowkey sabotaged their own career.” One more user remarked: “She’s problematic but as many passes as y’all give Kanye West.. I be giving her passes, too.. cancel me..”

Tinashe’s “Nasty” has been going viral since its release back in April. It marked her first song to land on the Billboard Hot 100 and is the lead single from her upcoming album, Quantum Baby. The project is set to drop on August 16 as the second installment in a planned trilogy. She already released BB/Ang3l in 2023. Since dropping “Nasty,” Tinashe has followed it up with another song titled, “Getting No Sleep.”

Gillie Da Kid Misses His Late Son On 1-Year Anniversary Of His Death

Gillie Da Kid shared a post for his late son, YNG Cheese, on the one-year anniversary of his death, Saturday. Sharing a video billboard he and his family had put up in New York City in honor of the date, he wrote in the caption: “Long Live Cheese [crying emoji]. Miss u kid #WeGotChase.” The 25-year-old rapper was killed in Philadelphia in a triple shooting that injured two others.

In the comments section of Gillie’s post, plenty of fans shared supportive messages. “God bless you Gillie,” one user wrote. “I been watching you since get down on da ground sh*t was.” Another top comment reads: “Keep up the great work Gillie. Continued prayers to you and your family champ.” His podcast co-host, Wallo, also popped up with a pair of emojis.

Drake Fans React To His New BMW That Looks Suspiciously Like Tupac’s

Drake recently hung out with 50 Cent in Toronto and seemed to have a great time, but one of his most talked-about social media posts from this session has nothing to do with Fif. Instead, fans raised their eyebrows at a black BMW that he featured on his Instagram Story, which many felt looks suspiciously similar to the BMW in which Tupac Shakur was tragically shot and killed in 1996. But just like with many other things related to these two MCs and a certain Compton lyricist in 2024, things aren’t that simple. It’s not even the same model as the ‘Pac one, but maybe the image and similarity alone is what Drizzy intended.

Of course, we’re referring to the mentions of Tupac’s ring and Drake’s use of a ‘Pac A.I. voice during the 6ix God’s beef with Kendrick Lamar. During K.Dot’s “The Pop Out” concert in Los Angeles, he changed one of his lyrics in the “Euphoria” diss track to the following: “Give me Tupac’s ring back and I might give you a little respect.” This came after the West Coast legend’s estate threatened legal action against the Toronto superstar for replicating his voice without consent, which Aubrey then accused Kendrick of setting up.

Even though this and other social media jabs have folks thinking that Drake still wants smoke with Kendrick Lamar, the biggest likelihood is that these attacks will remain as Internet jokes and probably not manifest in full-on diss tracks. According to DJ Akademiks, he’s looking forward to giving fans “what they love” from him, which could include a Kendrick subliminal. But this phrasing suggests that the OVO mogul will focus on making great music and being the versatile force that fans can’t get enough of. Only time will tell…

Meanwhile, Drake has some financial opportunities and offers to consider as well that aren’t a curiously evocative BMW purchase. Lupe Fiasco recently suggested that he should buy Dame Dash’s shares in Reasonable Doubt by Jay-Z. “@champagnepapi will keep it safe for generations to come,”he posited. “This is grail and influenced an innumerable amount of rappers to see it peddle such a lack of grace genuinely hurts my feelings a little bit. But also on savages s**t f**k it…either donate it to a museums for safekeeping or seriously let Drake make an offer so he can put in where it needs to be. Or just keep the s**t OG you should be infinitely proud of this. Without it there is no me as I am and I’m sure other MC’s will agree.”

Ice Spice & Paris Hilton Link Up And The “Y2K” Vibes Are Stronger Than Ever

Ice Spice’s upcoming album Y2K clearly owes itself to the 2000s quite heavily, so it’s no wonder she recently linked up with Paris Hilton for a photo shoot. Moreover, the two donned some pink, white, and purple clothing items with a pink luxury car to match, bedazzled flip phones and purses, and plenty of other elements that evoke that decade’s aesthetics. It’s certainly a fitting team-up and one that is building up the new sound and homage behind this new LP. We wonder whether there will be other promotional ideas that the Bronx femcee might play with that aren’t as straightforward as typical album rollout methods, and more moves like these could play into that.

However, a big part of Y2K‘s release narrative also involved Ice Spice’s beef with Latto, but the Atlanta artist’s recent comments on the matter indicate that there won’t be much more of a promo boost from this specific situation. “If I was to do [a battle], it would have to be with somebody I feel like I’ma go tit for tat with,” she told Billboard. “I really don’t mean it as shade. Would she even want to do that? I feel like she’s doing her in her lane. It’s two different types of vibes. I don’t even think she gives me like, ‘Oh, she wants to engage in an actual rap beef.’”

As such, maybe a full-blown battle won’t be part of why folks tune into Y2K, which might be for the best for both Ice Spice and Latto to show off a more complete and earnest side to their artistries on their respective upcoming albums. Elsewhere, a lot of folks are also talking about Spice’s apparent weight loss online, which is threatening to dampen some of her new album’s hype. Not because it makes people less interested, but because that’s what the algorithm has chose to throw in your face… for whatever reason.

Meanwhile, maybe Paris Hilton won’t be the only person that Ice Spice enlists to help promote Y2K some more. She’s been very close with Central Cee recently, which albeit resulted in some controversy, and other artists could definitely jump in as well. But the fanbase will listen to the project no matter what, and they will be the ones to assess whether the record is even the fart. Hopefully it’s the… you know.
