Every week, Billboard unveils the top 10 songs on the latest Hot 100 chart. The most recent rankings, for the chart dated April 20, are out now, so let’s run down who had this week’s biggest hits.

10. Noah Kahan — “Stick Season”

Kahan’s hit just had one of its best weeks, returning to the top 10 and matching its previous peak at No. 10.

9. Future, Metro Boomin, Travis Scott, and Playboi Carti — “Type Sh*t”

Future and Metro have been dominating the music landscape lately, and their Travis and Carti collab is one of their two top-10 songs this week.

8. Ariana Grande — “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)”

Grande’s former No. 1 single still has some life left, jumping up a spot to No. 8 on the latest chart.

7. Jack Harlow — “Lovin On Me”

Speaking of former No. 1 hits, “Lovin On Me” has been in the top 10 for seemingly forever and it doesn’t appear to be in danger of departing the region any time soon.

6. J. Cole — “7 Minute Drill”

J. Cole actually regrets this song, so much so that he took it off of streaming services, but it did well enough to debut at No. 6 on the new Hot 100. As Billboard notes, the song was removed from streaming on April 12, a day after the end of the new chart’s tracking week. So, the song’s removal didn’t have any impact on the its commercial activity during its debut week.

5. Beyoncé — “Texas Hold ‘Em”

Beyoncé’s country favorite had a noteworthy slide this week, falling from No. 2 to No. 5.

4. Teddy Swims — “Lose Control”

“Lose Control” became Swims’ first chart-topper a few weeks ago and it’s still doing well now, hanging onto a top-5 spot at No. 4.

3. Benson Boone — “Beautiful Things”

For the third consecutive week, Boone’s breakout hit has earned the chart’s top Airplay Gainer award, thanks to 57.4 million plays, an increase 14 percent.

2. Hozier — “Too Sweet”

Hozier has returned to “Take Me To Church” territory: His early-career hit previously peaked at No. 2, a feat the “Too Sweet,” his first song to debut in the top 10, has now matched.

1. Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar — “Like That”

For the third consecutive/total week, Future, Metro, and Lamar’s Drake- and J. Cole-dissing hit “Like That” hangs onto the No. 1 spot on the Hot 100. It’s the first song to spend its first three weeks at No. 1 since Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” was on top for its first six weeks in January and March 2023.

Kendrick Lamar’s Guest Verse Powers Future & Metro Boomin’s “Like That” Another Commercial Milestone 2024

Last month, Future & Metro Boomin released their new album WE DON’T TRUST YOU. It’s the first of a pair of albums they promised this year with the second one due to drop tonight. The album sports a number of high-profile features from artists like Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, The Weeknd, and Rick Ross. But the show-stealing moment came from Kendrick Lamar who appeared on “Like That” where he took shots at both Drake and J. Cole. The commercial success of both that song and the album itself has been staggering.

First, WE DON’T TRUST YOU debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The album nabbed the biggest sales week of 2024 so far, though Beyonce took the record for herself just a week later. “Like That” itself also climbed to a number-one debut on the Hot 100. It stuck there for a second week even holding off Beyonce’s lead single “TEXAS HOLD EM.” The song is actually challenging for a third week at the number-one spot next week. Now the track has officially hit 1 million equivalent sales in just 18 days, the fastest song of 2024 to hit that milestone so far.

Kendrick Lamar’s Diss Track Is The Fastest Selling Song Of The Year

Earlier this week, Joe Budden teased a continuation of Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s beef. He claimed that both rappers had been in the studio and even went as far as to describe what they both recorded as “nuclear.” He also speculated that the Drake response could drop as early as this week.

“Like That” became Kendrick’s first song to ever spend multiple weeks at number one on the Hot 100. The Weeknd Extends His Record For Annual Top 10 Hits

Last week, Future and Metro Boomin unleashed their highly anticipated new album WE DON’T TRUST YOU. After a full year of teasing the project was unsurprisingly a massive commercial success. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, scoring the biggest sales week of 2024 so far. It also debuted its entire tracklist on the Hot 100 including half of the Top 10. “Like That” with Kendrick Lamar stormed into the top spot while “Type Sh*t” with Playboi Carti and Travis Scott turned up at number two.

Debuting at number 9 on the charts was “Young Metro” which features The Weekend. The song is Abel’s 99th to land on the Hot 100, meaning his next entry will be his landmark 100th Hot 100 hit. But arguably even more impressive is the record it helped him extend. He has a top 10 hit on the Hot 100 every single year dating back to 2014, which is the longest active streak. The Weekend Hits 11 Years Of Top 10 Hits

Last month, The Weeknd also appeared in the music video for “Young Metro.” Unsurprisingly given the success of the album, the video was also a smash hit. It’s racked up 5.4 million views in just 11 days since it first dropped. The video is also still in the top 20 of YouTube’s trending list for music despite how long it’s been out.

That video came just a month after The Weeknd released the music video for his song “Popular. “ The track features both Playboi Carti and Madonna and featured on The Idol series soundtrack. Metro Boomin Refutes Claim That “Like That” Only Hit #1 Because Of Drake, Reveals His Phone Was Hacked By Toronto Number Shortly Before Album Release

It’s been a few days of good news for Metro Boomin and Future. Last week they released their highly-anticipated collaborative album WE DON’T TRUST YOU. The project came on the back of more than a year of teasing, so much so that it became a joke among Metro’s fans. But as the chart announcements are rolling out it’s been nothing but success for the record. Over the weekend it was announced that the project soared to a #1 debut on the Billboard 200. Not only did it hit the top spot, but it scored the biggest tracking week of the year so far.

But the album itself wasn’t the only thing to debut at #1. The track “Like That” also skyrocketed to the top spot of the Hot 100. That track was propelled by a Kendrick Lamar feature that had everyone talking after he took shots at both Drake and J. Cole. Some fans suggested that mentioning Drake is the only reason the song reached the number one spot, something Metro didn’t appreciate. He responded to those claims in an Instagram comment. “Album was going #1 regardless. There was gonna be a #1 single regardless. Get off d*ck that man don’t even know y’all” Metro’s comment reads. Metro Boomin Refutes Fan Claims

In another unrelated post, Metro Boomin revealed some mysterious phone calls that he got shortly before the release of the album. “It all started 2 days before the album dropped and all these 416 numbers would call me back 2 back a million times. Got so bad I had to keep my phone on airplane mode,” his tweet read. It was attached to a picture of the calls he’s been receiving. Eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed the phone numbers all shared the area code of Drake’s native Toronto.

After more than a year of teasing, Future and Metro Boomin finally unleashed their collaborative album WE DON’T TRUST YOU earlier this month. The album is already living up to its billing as one of the biggest moments in rap music this year with high-profile features from Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, Rick Ross, and The Weeknd. But the most attention-grabbing feature came from Kendrick Lamar, who used his verse on the song “Like That” to take shots at Drake and J. Cole.

As a result there was quite a bit of discussion about the song and that’s translated directly into streams. The song has racked up nearly 70 million streams on Spotify alone since it first dropped. That’s why it’s no surprise that it surged straight to the top of the Hot 100 in its very first week. The song represents Kendrick and Future’s third number one, hit each and Metro Boomin’s first ever as a primary artist. But the new album is performing well all over the chart. The Travis Scott and Playboi Carti collaboration “Type Sh*t” turned up right behind “Like That” at #2 on the chart. Travis Scott’s other appearance on the album comes on the track “Cinderella” which lands at #6. They round out the top 10 with the title track “We Don’t Trust You” at #8 and the Weeknd featuring “Young Metro” at #9.

The good news about their Hot 100 performance isn’t that surprising for fans who have been paying attention. Hozier’s three albums have all performed well on the charts, but in terms of singles, he’s been sitting in “one-hit wonder” territory for years now with “Take Me To Church,” which peaked at No. 2 in 2014. “Too Sweet” is having a real moment, though, as the song debuts at No. 5 this week, making it his highest debut on the chart and his first top-10 single since “Take Me To Church.”

“Lose Control” actually managed to hit No. 1 on the chart last week, but it lost control of the top spot and slid down to No. 4.

9. SZA — “Snooze”

It’s been a big past few days for SZA: Aside from her Hot 100 success (beyond this song, even, as you’ll see in a minute), she visited Sesame Street and won a BRIT.

8. Tate McRae — “Greedy”

McRae’s not getting greedy, but her hit did just move up a spot from last week on the Hot 100.

7. Zach Bryan — “I Remember Everything” Feat. Kacey Musgraves

As “I Remember Everything” holds onto its top-10 status, it continues to crush on other charts. Specifically, it’s No. 1 for the 27th week on both the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Rock Songs charts.

6. SZA — “Saturn”

SZA has the week’s biggest debut with “Saturn” (the song she teased with a Grammys ad). The track is SZA’s milestone 10th top-10 song on the Hot 100. It also makes her the only artist this week with multiple top-10 songs.

Two breakout hits round out this week’s top 5, starting with Swims’ “Lose Control,” which previously peaked at No. 2.

Nicki Minaj Passes Jay-Z In Combined Billboard Charting Weeks

In addition to the numerous weekly charts Billboard tracks in order to display the most popular songs all around the world, they also have a ton of data on some of the biggest artists around. One of the stats they keep track of is combined weeks between the Hot 100 and Billboard 200. The stat does a good job of showing which artists dominate the charts with both their albums and singles. Among rappers, there was just a shake-up in the top 10 of all-time combined weeks on the two biggest charts.

The top 5 features the kinds of superstars you’d expect. Future clocks in at just over 2000 combined weeks with Kanye West and Lil Wayne also landing in the 2000s. Eminem comes in at second place with just over 3000 weeks. But at number one with an astonishing 6142 weeks, more than double anybody else, is Drake. But looking to join both the 2000 club and the top 5 soon is Nicki Minaj. Her recent chart success has officially propelled her past Jay-Z for 6th all-time among rappers. She currently sits at 1945 combined weeks between the Hot 100 and Billboard 200.

Nicki Minaj Newest Chart Achievement

Nicki Minaj has added quite a bit to her total combined weeks in the past few months. That started with her new album Pink Friday 2 which dropped back in December. It was her first new album since 2018 and ended up causing increased streaming numbers for a lot of her older albums. The record also dropped numerous songs into the Hot 100.

Fan favorites like “Everybody” with Lil Uzi Vert and “FTCU” are still on the Hot 100 two months after the album dropped. Every week, Billboard unveils the top 10 songs on the latest Hot 100 chart. The most recent rankings, for the chart dated February 24, are out now, so let’s run down who had this week’s biggest hits.

10. Noah Kahan — “Stick Season”

Stick Season was Kahan’s first top-10 album (top-3, actually) on the Billboard 200, and now he has reached another milestone on the Hot 100: Rising from No. 11 to No. 10 this week, the album’s title track is Kahan’s first top-10 single.

9. Tate McRae — “Greedy”

Aside from hanging around in the top 10 this week, “Greedy” is now McRae’s first No. 1 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, meaning it’s a hit on radio.

8. Zach Bryan — “I Remember Everything” Feat. Kacey Musgraves

While the Bryan/Musgraves collab is sliding down the Hot 100 a bit, it’s still No. 1 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Rock Songs charts, for a 25th week each.

7. SZA — “Snooze”

Similarly, “Snooze” is also faltering on the Hot 100 some, but it leads the Hot R&B Songs chart for a 29th week.

Last week, Kanye West caught wind of a Swiftie campaign to stream and buy “Texas Hold ‘Em” so the Beyoncé song would debut above him on the new chart. Who knows how much impact that actually had, but whatever the case, the desired outcome was reached as the song enters the Hot 100 at No. 2.

The whole Kanye-vs.-Beyoncé situation was beneath Jack Harlow this week, though, as “Lovin On Me” is No. 1 for its sixth nonconsecutive week.
