Nicki Minaj Lands 14 “Pink Friday 2” Songs On This Week’s Hot 100

Despite the massive influx of Christmas music that occupies the Hot 100 this time of year, Nicki Minaj still managed an impressive showing on the chart. A week after releasing her highly anticipated new album Pink Friday 2 more than half of the album’s 22 tracks made their debut on the Hot 100. It puts her among pretty impressive company with artists like Drake, Bad Bunny, and Taylor Swift who made similar album dumps earlier this year.

Leading the way is Nicki’s collaboration with Lil Uzi Vert “Everybody.” The song became the instant breakout hit of the bunch and had numerous celebrities sharing videos of themselves dancing to it on social media. The song made its debut at number 26 on the Hot 100, one of three songs that landed inside the top 50 on the chart. “Needle” which featured Drake continued the rapper’s massive year on the Hot 100 landing at number 34. The hard-hitting “FTCU” also made an impressive debut at number 42.

Nicki Minaj Has 14 Songs On The Hot 100

Even before the album was released it had already made an impression on the Hot 100. The album’s lead single “Super Freaky Girl” dropped last year and immediately shot up to the very top of the chart, debuting at number one in its first week. She also released the songs “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” and “Last Time I Saw You” which peaked at number 13 and 23 respectively.

Nicki Minaj had an even stronger debut on the Billboard 200. Pink Friday 2 debuted on the chart over the weekend at the very top spot. Not only did the album hit number one but it also sold well over 200k copies in its first week, placing it among some of the biggest debuts of the year. All five of Nicki’s albums have debuted at either number one or number two dating back to 2010. Pink Friday 2 is Nicki’s first number one album since Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded which originally dropped back in 2012. 3. Bobby Helms — “Jingle Bell Rock”

Bobby Helms’ tune is also at its all-time high at No. 3, as there are two massive Christmas classics that keep getting in its way.

This has been a historic holiday season for Brenda Lee, who managed to hold off Mariah Carey’s timeless hit from reaching No. 1 for two chart-topping weeks. The tides have turned now, though.

After Lee’s temporary roadblock, Carey is back at No. 1 for a fifth consecutive holiday season, although this means the two have combined for a joint record: This is the first time two holiday songs have been No. 1 in a single holiday season. The Hot 100 is certainly painted red (and green) this week, thanks to the holiday songs coming up next on this list. Doja’s hit is among the few non-holiday tunes hanging around this week’s top 10, though.

9. SZA — “Snooze”

One of the others is SZA’s “Snooze.” This week actually marks a full year on the Hot 100 for SZA’s SOS single.

8. Andy Williams — “It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year”

Williams’ Christmas classic has helped him make some history: As Billboard notes, “The late singer now sports a record span of 64 years, two months, and one week from his first week in the top 10 with ‘Lonely Street’ in October 1959 through his latest frame.”

7. Taylor Swift — “Cruel Summer”

Even through the holiday rush, Swift is unstoppable, as she remains in the top 10 with a song that was originally released in 2019 but has become a gigantic hit here in 2023.

6. Burl Ives — “A Holly Jolly Christmas”

Ives is one of the holiday regulars, as “A Holly Jolly Christmas” routinely returns to the charts. Its previous peak was at No. 4, so let’s see if it’s able to top that this year.

5. Jack Harlow — “Lovin On Me”

In terms of non-holiday songs, Harlow is No. 1 this week with “Lovin On Me,” which previously became the rapper’s third No. 1 single (Christmas classic or otherwise).

4. Wham! — “Last Christmas”

“Last Christmas” has so far peaked at No. 4 on the Hot 100 and the enduring 1984 favorite finds itself back at that personal-best summit this week.

3. Bobby Helms — “Jingle Bell Rock”

The same is true for Helms in terms of re-achieving its previous peak. It’s also the oldest song of the holiday bunch, as it was originally released in 1957.

2. Mariah Carey — “All I Want For Christmas Is You”

Carey has gotten used to having the No. 1 Christmas song of the past few years, but so far during this holiday season, she hasn’t been able to reclaim the No. 1 spot on the Hot 100.

1. Brenda Lee — “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree”

“Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” went No. 1 for the first time ever last week, and the 1958 hit holds onto that spot this week, too, for a second total week at No. 1. A couple Christmas songs made it onto last week’s Hot 100, but now that Thanksgiving is behind us, they’re out in force. Six of this week’s top 10 songs are vintage holiday tunes, including this Andy Williams classic from 1963.

9. SZA — “Snooze”

After peaking at No. 2 previously, “Snooze” is just barely hanging around the top 10, but it’s still No. 1 on the Hot R&B Songs chart for an 18th week.

8. Doja Cat — “Paint The Town Red”

While Doja’s hit fell down from No. 3 last week, it’s No. 1 on the latest Radio Songs chart for the first time this week.

7. Taylor Swift — “Cruel Summer”

We’re heading into winter and a summer song is still sticking around, although it’s down significantly from last week’s rank at No. 2.

6. Burl Ives — “A Holly Jolly Christmas”

The ’50s and ’60s appear to be the golden age for Christmas music, as this 1964 Burl Ives tune is routinely an end-of-year favorite and rose from No. 16 to enter the top 10 this week.

5. Wham! — “Last Christmas”

Some newer (not “new,” but “newer”) holiday tunes have some gas this week, too, as Wham’s 1984 classic “Last Christmas” is in the middle of the pack of this week’s top 10.

4. Bobby Helms — “Jingle Bell Rock”

Presenting the oldest song in this week’s top 10: Helms’ recording of “Jingle Bell Rock” was originally released all the way back in 1957.

3. Jack Harlow — “Lovin On Me”

“Lovin On Me” became Harlow’s third No. 1 single last week, but it couldn’t hold off two titanic holiday tracks as it slides down to No. 3.

2. Mariah Carey — “All I Want For Christmas Is You”

Carey’s iconic Christmas tune is usually the one leading the post-Thanksgiving charge, but there’s a new sheriff in town this week.

1. Brenda Lee — “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree”

When Brenda Lee released “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” in November 1958, she probably never imagined that it would be the No. 1 song in the country a whopping 65 years later. Now, though, a song that’s nearly as old as the Hot 100 chart itself (the chart launched in August 1958) has gone No. 1 here in 2023.

The song was previously a regular “All I Want For Christmas Is You” sidekick in the holiday music resurgence: It spent nine weeks at No. 2 on the Hot 100 between December 2019 and the 2022-2023 holiday season. In fact, now that the track has risen to No. 1, it has tied the record for most weeks at No. 2 before ascending to No. 1, a record it shares with Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy.” (Also like Eilish, Lee started her music career as a child star: She recorded “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” when she was only 13 years old.)

“Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” is now just the third holiday song to ever go No. 1, after Carey’s hit and “The Chipmunk Song” by The Chipmunks with David Seville. The song is also Lee’s third career chart-topper, following “I’m Sorry” and “I Want To Be Wanted,” both in 1960. Furthermore, at 78 years old, Lee is now the senior-most artist with a No. 1 single of all time, beating the record previously held by Louis Armstrong, who was 62 when “Hello, Dolly!” topped the chart in 1964.

Andre 3000 Officially Has The Longest Hot 100 Song Of All Time

Earlier this month, Andre 3000 treated fans to his long-awaited debut album. But for those expecting him to return with a rap album though, he had other plans. As soon as he announced the project, he promised that it had “no bars” and he delivered on that promise. The resulting album New Blue Sun is a series of long ambient jazz compositions that feature Andre himself playing flute quite prominently. That choice in style left fans divided on how to feel about the record.

Despite the experimental nature of the album, plenty of fans decided to give it a listen, enough for its opening track to make its debut on the Hot 100 this week. The self-aware and hilariously titled “I swear, I Really Wanted To Make A ‘Rap’ Album But This Is Literally The Way The Wind Blew Me This Time” debuted at number 90 on the Hot 100 this week. It’s the first time Andre has appeared on the chart as a solo artist in more than a decade but that isn’t even the most impressive achievement for the song.

Andre 3000 Surpasses Tool And Taylor Swift For Hot 100 Record

Like almost all of the songs on his new album, “I swear” pushes beyond 10 minutes. In its entirety, the song is 12 minutes and 20 seconds, which breaks the record for the longest runtime of any song to ever crack the Hot 100. It takes the record from progressive metal band Tool’s song “Fear Innoculum” which crashed onto the chart in 2019 with a 10-minute and 23-second runtime.

Many fans first became aware of Billboard tracking the Hot 100’s longest entries in 2021. That came when Taylor Swift landed her song “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version) at the number one spot on the chart. The track sports a runtime of 10 minutes and 13 seconds which comfortably made it the longest number one hit ever. What a breakout year for Tyla: The South African artist has herself a breakout hit with “Water,” and now it is one of only relatively few songs ever to find itself in the top 10 of the Hot 100, after rising from No. 15 last week. Remixes with Marshmello and Travis Scott released on November 17 gave the track the boost it needed this frame.

9. Taylor Swift — “Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version) [From The Vault]”

“Is It Over Now?” was No. 1 three weeks ago, but now it finds itself barely hanging on in the top 10. That’s of course not the biggest Swift news of the day, though, as she just announced a VOD release for her Eras Tour concert movie.

8. Brenda Lee — “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree”

The holiday season really makes time irrelevant: Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” celebrates its 65th anniversary this year, and here the Christmas classic is in the top 10 of the Hot 100.

7. Tate McRae — “Greedy”

Like Tyla, McRae just had her first top 10, although “Greedy” achieved the feat last week. Now, its success continues as the song rises up a spot from No. 8 to No. 7.

6. Zach Bryan — “I Remember Everything” Feat. Kacey Musgraves

Bryan and Musgraves’ collab has been a multi-genre force over the past few months: Aside from maintaining a Hot 100 presence, it’s currently No. 1 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Rock Songs charts for a 13th week and on the Hot Country Songs for a ninth.

5. SZA — “Snooze”

“Snooze” is thriving right now, as SZA’s hit remains in the top 5 of the Hot 100 while leading the Hot R&B Songs chart for a 17th week.

4. Mariah Carey — “All I Want For Christmas Is You”

Yes, it’s starting again. Every year, Carey’s 1994 holiday hit had a major leap this week, rising from No. 17 all the way to No. 4. At this point, it’s appears to be only a matter of time before the frosty favorite reclaims the top spot for yet another holiday season.

Chrisean Rock & Lil Mabu React To “Mr. Take Ya B*tch” Chart Success

Chrisean Rock and Lil Mabu reacted to their recent collaboration, “Mr. Take Ya B*tch,” landing on the Billboard Hot 100 on social media, earlier this week. The song, on which Rock takes aim at her ex, Blueface, debuted at No. 96 on the chart.

“God got me hitting Billboard 100,” Chrisean posted on her Instagram Story. “It’s crazy cuz I did it while I was in a storm. My baby was still in the hospital recovering from surgery and I was so down [for real].” In his own post, Lil Mabu added: “Been HOT & I been keeping it. [100 emoji] @billboardcharts.” It’s not the only success the song has seen since its release. It also peaked at No. 1 on the TikTok Music Charts.

In the lyrics to the song, Chrisean disses Blueface by rapping: “Only thing that’s broke is my f*cking water/Gave birth to my kid but I hate his father/I used to f*ck wit Blue’s now I f*ck wit ones/Only f*ck with white boys that be toting guns.” In response, Blueface joked that Chrisean and Mabu “should make it official fr.” Instead of targeting Blueface with his lyrics on the track, Mabu goes at Wack 100. Chrisean Rock Makes Her Hot 100 Debut And Shares An Update On Motherhood

There’s been some good news coming recently for Chrisean Rock. The highlight is her first ever hit on the Hot 100. That comes through her Lil Mabu collab and Blueface diss track “Mr. Take Ya B*tch.” The song has been out for a few weeks now but started picking up steam after a recent news story. She performed the song during a party in Miami where Blueface himself was also in attendance, which gave it a big boost in streaming numbers and attention.

She also shared an update on another major moment in her life. “I’m so inlove with being your mommy,” she tweeted. The tweet is in reference to her child, who she gave birth to a few months ago. In the comment of the post fans share their support for her motherhood journey. “I love seeing clips of you be a mommy, it’s always the cutest thing” one of the top comments reads. “See the blessing oh my good so precious,” another agrees. Chrisean Rock Gives Music And Motherhood Updates

Rock last gave fans an update on her new baby a few days ago. Chrisean celebrated her baby turning two months old and shared that she hired a nanny to help out with the baby. “He’s growing, he’s strong,” she said, reassuring fans that her baby was healthy after he had to have surgery last month.

As is often the case, more drama erupted for Chrisean Rock recently. She appeared on The Jason Lee Show where she made some controversial comments about Blueface. She described him as wanting a “slave” rather than a girlfriend. He was quick to refute the allegations and attack Rock back for her alleged victim complex. This week’s top-10 songs are mostly the same as last week but shuffled around some, except for “F*kumean,” the only top-10 song that wasn’t in the region last week. The song, which previously peaked at No. 4, wasn’t far off, though, as it was No. 11 in last week’s ranks.

9. Bad Bunny — “Monaco”

Bad Bunny’s Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Mañana single was the biggest chart debut last week, entering the chart at No. 5. This week, though, it’s nearly out of the top 10.

8. Drake — “IDGAF” Feat. Yeat

“IDGAF” had a big opening week at No. 2 a couple weeks ago, but it’s been gradually working its way down the Hot 100 after falling to No. 4 this week and now No. 8 this frame.
