Cedric Hudson: Redefining Athletic Wear with The Don Pant and Beyond

Cedric Hudson, VP of Men’s Design at Fabletics, is a visionary in the fashion world, driving innovative design with a bold mission to fuse function, style, and purpose. Based in Los Angeles, Hudson has an impressive background that includes collaborations with Adidas, Reebok, and the iconic YEEZY line by Kanye West. As the creative force behind Fabletics’ men’s designs, Hudson’s latest achievement—the meticulously crafted Don Pant—redefines what modern athletic wear can be.

In an exclusive interview, Hudson opened up about his personal design philosophy, his creative journey, and how The Don Pant represents a new era for both Fabletics and everyday menswear.

From Vision to Reality: The Creation of The Don Pant

Hudson’s career is built on pushing boundaries, a trait that guided him while creating The Don Pant. When asked about his inspiration behind the project, Hudson explained, “There are some good pants out there, but not great. The main component of these garments, the fabric, was not accomplishing enough for the wearer. So, we set out to rectify that.”

The journey to create The Don Pant was a three-year process, driven by the desire to craft a garment that would perform at a high level while maintaining a refined aesthetic. Hudson’s team built the fabric from the ground up, emphasizing both versatility and function. “We knew we wanted this fabric to not just look refined but perform at a high level, which is part of the activewear roots of Fabletics.”

Empowering the Dreamers and Hustlers

Hudson’s designs have always been more than just clothing—they’re a mindset. The Don Pant was developed with this philosophy in mind, catering to individuals with ambition and drive. As Hudson put it, the design is made for “shot-callers, hustlers, and dreamers.” He further elaborates, “When you are truly tapped in and focused on whatever goal you are trying to achieve, the last sensation you want to feel is of being slowed down or held back.”

The water-repellent fabric is just one of the elements that ensures ease of transition from work to play. For Hudson, it’s all about empowering the wearer. “A minor spill during the movement of my day won’t stop me in my tracks,” he said, underscoring how the design meets the demands of a busy, ambitious lifestyle.

Collaboration at the Heart of Design

For Hudson, The Don Pant is more than just a piece of clothing—it’s a symbol of teamwork and community. After three years of development, Hudson reflects on how collaborative design played a crucial role in bringing this garment to life. He credits his team, including fabric developer Margaret Dunne and tech designer Albert La Coria, as instrumental in shaping the final product. “This pant represents community and the power of collaborative design,” Hudson shared, expressing deep gratitude for his colleagues.

His emotional connection to teamwork, particularly in the design world, shines through. “You can feel the magic happening, and I believe that only really occurs when participating in team-oriented design arenas,” Hudson explained, revealing the joy he finds in working alongside like-minded creatives.

Pushing the Boundaries of Modern Menswear

Hudson’s work on The Don Pant pushed him to rethink the boundaries of modern menswear. He spoke candidly about the challenges and discoveries that arose during the creative process. “With any creative endeavor, there is always an amount of beautiful discovery that happens, and you just have to be paying attention to recognize it and act upon it,” he said.

The project offered multiple “ah-ha!” moments, which Hudson and his team embraced. These discoveries not only shaped the pant itself but also opened new avenues for future designs. “We are excited to continue to expound, not only on how he and she dresses, but also how they experience the garments,” he added, hinting at what’s to come from Fabletics under his creative direction.

Beyond Fashion: A Holistic Approach to Design

Hudson’s approach to design extends far beyond fashion. He is also the founder of Contemporary Athletics, a brand and storytelling vessel that uses design to provoke dialogue. His creativity spans multiple disciplines, including furniture design. His award-winning Greensboro Chair, crafted to honor the 1960 sit-in protests, merges design, history, and social justice in a way that’s deeply personal.

Whether it’s designing game-changing athletic wear or paying homage to significant moments in history, Cedric Hudson’s work is driven by a desire to make a difference. His commitment to innovation and community ensures that his designs speak to more than just fashion—they tell a story, connect people, and reflect a dedication to purposeful creativity.

As for what’s next? Hudson is ready to continue shaping the future of fashion with an eye on both form and function. With The Don Pant now a flagship piece in Fabletics’ collection, it’s clear that Cedric Hudson’s vision is one that will keep evolving, influencing, and inspiring the next generation of dreamers.

The Weeknd Shared A Teaser Of ‘Timeless,’ His Ominous-Looking Collaboration With Playboi Carti

Spooky season is right around the corner, and it looks like Abel Tesfaye is getting in the mood early. At least, that’s how it appears in the teaser The Weeknd shared from his upcoming Hurry Up, Tomorrow single, “Timeless.” In a tweet, he shared an ominous-looking screenshot from the music video featuring the highly demanded guest star Playboi Carti with both artists draped in their signature black-on-black aesthetics. Carti appears to be wearing a samurai helmet, while Abel himself sticks with his now-familiar shades.

The two artists previously collaborated on the soundtrack from The Weeknd’s much-maligned HBO series, The Idol, teaming up with Madonna on “Popular.” That song, intriguingly enough, also appeared in Fortnite during the game’s Fortnite Festival performance. At the time, Tesfaye said of the collaboration: “I’m proud of it. I’m definitely proud of it. Me and Carti had this… I mean, we’ve jammed out before. We’ve had a different version of this song prior. So I’ve had these vocals for a while, and I’ve kind of just worked around it, and then kind of kept it in the tuck. But now it felt like it was time.”

Whether the vocals for “Timeless” also derived from this jam session is unknown, but they’ve displayed compelling chemistry before, so to see this record also succeed in that respect wouldn’t be a surprise. “Timeless” will be the second single from Hurry Up, Tomorrow after “Dancing In The Flames.”

Andre 3000 Compares Himself To Lil B While Describing “New Blue Sun” As “Punk Jazz”

Andre 3000 compared his music to that of Lil B during an interview with the Recording Academy published on Wednesday. After mentioning Sun Ra and the Art Ensemble of Chicago, the legendary Outkast rapper explained how his latest foray into instrumental music is similar to Lil B, who he described as having a “punk way of rapping.”

“A long line of historical bands like Sun Ra, the Chicago Art Ensemble. Even rapper Lil B,” he told the outlet. “I was joking to myself: I was like, I’m almost the Lil B of this type of music. Lil B is, they call it based rap. My son actually turned me on to Lil B. Because a lot of what he’s doing is made up or improv or really reactionary. It’s not this studied, perfect thing. Because I came up in the ‘90s, we came up with Nas and Wu-Tang and some of the [people] considered the best rappers around. It was about clarity. It was more of a studied kind of thing.”

He continued: “A person like Lil B is not studied at all. But the way the kids respond to him, it’s because of that. It’s kind of like a punk way of rapping, and I like it. [And what I’m doing is] almost like punk jazz or punk spiritual jazz. It’s pure feeling.” Andre put out his debut solo album, New Blue Sun, last year, ending his 17-year hiatus from music. In doing so, he moved away from hip-hop and into ambient jazz.

Elsewhere in his discussion with the Recording Academy, Andre spoke about performing the flute live, the evolution of his artistic expression, and more. Be on the lookout for further updates on Andre 3000 and Lil B on HotNewHipHop.

Now, 310babii is looking to sprinkle a little bit more of that magic onto his newest track, “that’s it”.

Wack 100’s Girlfriend Gets His Face Tattooed On Her Back

It goes without saying that some will take any opportunity to show off their significant other. Recently, however, Wack 100’s girlfriend Rekeita Bradford Jones took things to the next level. In various clips and photos making their rounds on social media, she’s seen getting a large tattoo of Wack on her back. He recently hopped online to weigh in on the piece, revealing how impressed he is by it.

In a clip, he explains that he knew nothing about her tattoo plans until he dropped her off to get it done. When he walked inside, he couldn’t believe it. “This tattoo she did on her back, this sh*t’s amazing,” he explained. “I’m at awe, I’m lost for words… I tried to try and couldn’t, I’m just happy on the inside.”

Wack 100’s Girlfriend Shows Off New Tattoo

While Wack and Jones appear to be more than pleased with the tattoo, the same can’t be said for fans in The Shade Room‘s comments section. “She lost her whole mind,” one Instagram user claims. “Goofy,” someone else writes. Of course, others are coming to their defense, arguing that it’s their right to flaunt their affection in whatever ways they choose.

Jones is far from the only person to debut a shocking tattoo recently, however. Amid Blueface’s incarceration earlier this year, Chrisean Rock also unveiled a large tattoo of his face on her cheek. Bhad Bhabie and the father of her child Le Vaughn additionally got tattoos of each other’s faces late last month, though she later admitted she wasn’t happy with the result. What do you think of Wack 100’s girlfriend getting a huge portrait of him tattooed on her back? Are you a fan of the piece or did she go too far? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Diddy’s Lawyer Tries To Explain Why He’d Have 1,000 Bottles Of Baby Oil

Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, sat down with TMZ for a new interview in the wake of the Bad Mogul’s arrest in New York City, last week. In doing so, he discussed the federal indictment against his client mentioning 1,000 bottles of baby oil being found on his property.

“I can’t imagine it’s thousands,” he said. “I’m not exactly sure what the baby oil has to do with anything… I don’t know what you need 1,000 for. One bottle of baby oil goes a long way. I don’t know what you need 1,000 for. He has a big house. He buys in bulk. I think they have Costcos in every place where he has a home. Have you sat in the parking lot of a Costco and seen what people walk out of there with?”

Diddy’s Attorney Speaks With The Media

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – SEPTEMBER 17: Lawyer for Sean Combs, Marc Agnifilo, speaks to members of the media outside U.S. District Court on September 17, 2024, in New York City. Agnifilo previously defended Diddy storing baby oil in his home while speaking with The New York Post. He told that outlet: “These are consensual adults doing what consensual adults do, you know, we can’t get so puritanical in this country to think that somehow sex is a bad thing because if it was there would be no more people.”

Marc Agnifilo Discusses Diddy’s Indictment

In the federal indictment, the U.S. Attorney’s Office goes into detail about Diddy’s alleged “Freak Offs.” The document alleges: “Combs’ sexual abuse of women included causing them to engage in frequent, days-long sexual activity with male commercial sex workers, some of whom were transported over state lines. These events, which Combs’ referred to as ‘Freak Offs,’ were elaborate sex performances that Combs arranged, directed, and often electronically recorded. To ensure participation in Freak Offs, Combs used violence and intimidation, and leveraged his power over victims.” Diddy has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Check out Agnifilo’s comments on the indictment with TMZ below. Be on the lookout for further updates on Diddy on HotNewHipHop.
