SOURCE SPORTS: Danny Green Bashes Patrick Beverley For Chris Paul Comments

Patrick Beverley has been on a media frenzy tour lately, and it seems he is on an all-out blitz on Chris Paul. While Beverley is talking about his piece, some current NBA players call him out on his nonsense.

On this week’s episode of his “Inside the Green Room” podcast, Philadelphia 76ers veteran Danny Green went in on Beverley for the way and lengths he has gone on to clown Paul.

“People target you too, Pat Bev,” responded Green, per NBC Sports Philly. “You ain’t playing no f–king defense out there. You ain’t stopping Luka. It’s time and time again I see Luka call your a– ‘little man’ and ‘he’s too f–king small’ and go right at you every chance he gets. When you play Luka you’re a cone, too. How would you like that?

“When you’re talking about a Hall of Famer you can critique, but the disrespect I think was taken a little far,” Green added. “I think [Beverley] just used that platform because he has an issue with Chris, and he used it as a personal vendetta to take out a lot of his anger on the set at that moment. I thought it was unfair to Chris, and I’m sure a lot of people felt the same, a lot of guys in the league. I don’t mind certain guys critiquing players, but you’re a role player. To disrespect a Hall of Famer is too far. Calling somebody a cone is disrespectful, bruh. I don’t care.”

Green is usually a quiet individual that goes in and plays his game. For him to make these comments and come to the defense of Paul only suggest how out of bounds, Beverley was to attack Paul.

According to several confirmed reports, Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. has been arrested and charged with first degree organized fraud and first degree grand theft. The rising actor of Starz’ BMF series is now facing 60 years in prison if convicted.

The 22-year-old son of famed drug kingpin Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory was arrested in Miami for the charges, but being that the ranking of that type of crime in Florida is so high, it’s likely that the feds will be taking over jurisdiction of his case.

First degree organized fraud carries a sentence of up to 30 years in prison. Ironically, Big Meech is currently serving 30 years in federal prison for a controlling and overseeing a national cocaine trafficking ring.

TheSoure.com will provide more updates to this story as details develop.

‘I’m Charlie Walker’ Revisits One Of the Biggest Oil Spill Clean Ups In History

Screen Shot 2022 05 17 at 7.47.14 AM

The biopic, ‘I’m Charlie Walker’, starring Mike Colter who played the epic character of  Luke Cage is heading to the big screen.

Back in 1971, the story of Charlie Walker, a Black Man with one truck and big dreams began.  In the early morning of Jan. 18, 1971, two tankers owned by Standard Oil collided under the Golden Gate Bridge, spilling 800,000 gallons of oil spilled into the San Francisco Bay. It would be the largest oil spill in Bay Area history, and an event that changed Charlie’s life forever.

After the spill, 99 percent of the workers were unionized white truckers, hired to clean up the city’s major tourist draws, but through sheer luck and persistence, Walker landed a contract to clean up distant Stinson Beach in Marin. He got the job none of the white truckers wanted nor did they want to take orders from a Black man. His smarts and tenacity rubbed a lot of “white folks” the wrong way, simply for being present.

Despite constant racial tensions, 5 Million Dollars and 30 Days later Charlie managed to clean up the coastline in record time to the States satisfaction.  The oil company continued to harass Charlie all the way to criminal court. Charlie Walker is an 88 year old living legend that fought the system and won.

Luka Doncic and Dallas Mavericks Blast Top Ranked Suns to Advance To Western Conference Finals

Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks demolished and embarrassed the Phoenix Suns in game 7 to advance to the Western Conference Finals.

The top-seeded Suns had the best regular-season record and were early favorites for the 2022 NBA championship. Unfortunately, they didn’t look that dominant during game 7.

Doncic led all scorers with 33 points to go with 11 rebounds and eight assists. Reggie Bullock and Jalen Brunson helped the Mavs cause, combining for 37 points.

The Suns, who were coming off a 30-point victory in Game 5, struggled again on the road. Chris Paul had only 13 points on seven field-goal attempts. Devin Booker scored 19 but missed all four of his 3-pointers.

Doncic and the Mavericks will now turn their attention to the Golden State Warriors, looking to return to the NBA Finals for the first time in two seasons. The Mavericks could provide a matchup nightmare for the Warriors as Doncic will give the Dubs all kinds of problems.

Falkon Entertainment and Ebony Studios Team for ‘Sincerely, Los Angeles’ Documentary Honoring Kobe and Gianna Bryant

Image 1

Sincerely, Los Angeles, a colorful, intimate, and inspiring love letter from Los Angeles to NBA Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna Bryant, will be produced by a new joint venture between premier production company Falkon Entertainment and Ebony Studios. The feature-length documentary, directed by Patrick Green and produced by Dexton Deboree and Wondwossen Dikran of Falkon in collaboration with Someone Great Pictures, tells heartfelt stories about everyday people affected by the tragic death of the Lakers legend, as well as a look at LA’s most inspiring mural artists and cultural figures helping each other cope with the loss and remembering Kobe and Gianna. The video follows how these homage shrines grew into a global movement that started in Los Angeles and now spans the globe, demonstrating that Kobe’s impact will live on in our hearts and city walls forever.

“The impact of Kobe’s passing can never be fully articulated or properly emphasized, because it is such a deep, complex, profound and highly personal emotional experience for so many people around the world and if you’re an Angeleno, it goes deeper than that. Even though he was a stranger to me, in many ways I had suffered that loss, just the same and I know so many others around the world felt their own version of the same thing,” says Dexton Deboree, CEO of Falkon and visionary behind Ja Morant’s PROMISELAND, Will Smith’s Best Shape of My Life and Shaquille O’Neil’s The Game Plan. “I’m grateful, honored and inspired to help Patrick and his team bring the film further to life, support his vision and collaborate closely with our partners at Ebony to pay homage and do proper justice to the lasting legacy that Kobe and Gigi had on us all, through the unique and beautiful art that has been created in their loving, dedicated and more than fond memories.”

The film, which is set in Covid-19 and depicts people’s fear of the future, the loss of a real-life superhero, and racial turmoil in the streets, is very much a time capsule of 2020. During the city’s lockdown, award-winning filmmaker Patrick Green traveled throughout the city, documenting how a diverse group of artists and citizens from Boyle Heights to Burbank, Watts to the Westside, separated by class, culture, and concrete, have taken it upon themselves to keep Kobe and Gigi’s legacy alive by painting their images on walls across the Southland. It’s something they must do for the sake of themselves and the city.

“For a lot of Angelenos like myself, Kobe’s passing was like losing a North Star and since then, we’ve all experienced the loss of loved ones, freedom, and a sense of purpose. As I navigated my way through this new normal, I kept seeing larger than life Kobe murals pop-up around LA and saw that they became a place of refuge for people to gather around and relive memories with friends, family, and complete strangers” says Patrick Green, Award-winning Director. “I felt empowered to make a film that captured Kobe’s spirit just like the muralists had done and as I filmed these stories about ordinary people doing extraordinary things for themselves and their community, I began to realize that these past couple years weren’t just about loss but finding the hero within. Who better than the Black Mamba to force us to put on our big boy pants and start living again?  As a POC filmmaker, it’s an honor and privilege to partner with Dexton and Falkon and have ‘Sincerely, Los Angeles’ as the debut project from the newly launched Ebony Studios.”

SOURCE SPORTS: Jarvis Landry Signs a One Year Deal With The Saints

fe

Jarvis Landry has announced that he will play for the New Orleans Saints next season, but he plans on making this year an example of why he deserves a bigger contract in the future.

Based on his stats, Landry’s 2021 represented a down year for the five-time Pro Bowler. He only played in 12 games and totaled 52 catches for 570 yards and two touchdowns, all career lows. In 2022, Landry will be out to prove those stats were a fluke. When healthy, Landry believes he is a top 10 wideout in the league.

The Saints will be looking to return to the playoffs in a wide-open NFC South division this season. Landry’s talents and leadership presence will be a welcomed addition to the Saints’ locker room. Landry should see a ton of balls thrown in his way now that he will be paired alongside Michael Thomas, a two-time All-Pro who missed all of 2021 due to injuries.

SOURCE SPORTS: Former All-Pro Safety Earl Thomas Arrested Two Weeks After A Warrant Was Issued for Him

cd

Former All-Pro safety Earl Thomas was arrested Friday in his Texas hometown. Two weeks after a warrant was issued following his alleged violation of a court protective order, authorities said.

According to a report by WFAA in Dallas, Thomas was arrested by the Orange Police Department after he was recognized at a restaurant.

Thomas is charged with a third-degree felony for violating a protective order two or more times within 12 months.

An arrest warrant for Thomas was issued on April 27 in Austin, Texas, after police said he violated the protective order by sending threatening messages to a woman about her and her children, the Austin American-Statesman reported last week.

The warrant was issued days after Thomas pitched the idea of returning to the league. The effort to get back in the NFL was launched before the arrest warrant was issued.

It will probably be even harder for Thomas to get back into the league with all this off-the-field drama hanging over his head right now.

SOURCE SPORTS: Draymond Green Claps Back at Kendrick Perkins With “Ogre” Comments After Warriors Eliminated the Grizzlies

draymond

Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green doesn’t run from any smoke thrown his way. On Friday’s episode of ESPN’s First Take, Kendrick Perkins ripped Green for being scared to shoot the ball and doing more talking than balling.

After eliminating the Memphis Grizzlies in 6 games and clinching a spot in the Western Conference Finals, Green aired out Perkins in possibly the worst way ever, including calling the man an ogre.

“Something came to my phone earlier,” Green said to reporters. “Some guy saying I’m scared to shoot the basketball. Scared and me in the same sentence is brutal. But you got a big ogre on TV talking about what Draymond says ain’t the gospel. It is the gospel. What I say is the gospel. When you say that multiple times on several different segments, you must think what I say is the gospel. So, you got to come out and shut some guys up sometimes. When you got people talking out the side of their neck. ‘Anybody can make the pass Draymond make.’ That’s just stupid.

“But these are people who get employed to talk on TV about our game. ‘Anybody could make that pass.’ You make that pass. We’d love to see it. I played against the guy by the way. I’m talking about Kendrick Perkins for those of y’all that don’t know. I’m never duckin’ no smoke. As the Memphis Grizzlies’ towels say, I don’t duck smoke. ‘Anybody could make that pass.’ You couldn’t, so good luck. You just got to come out and shut people up sometimes. It was very fun to do.”

Not too long after Green made those comments, Perkins took to social media to fire right back with a funny quote “You ain’t handsome! You damn sure ain’t cute!”

While the back and forth makes for great tv, Green and the Warriors have regained their championship form. Don’t expect the back and forth to end anytime soon. Perkins has a right to express his opinion, and Green has his.
