Summer Walker Claps Back At Troll Who Says She’s Too Happy Being A Single Mom

twins

Summer Walker says she’s happy being a single mother regardless of what “miserable” internet trolls may say about it.

The mother of three put a social media user in their place after they commented underneath a photo of Walker pushing her three little ones in a stroller.

“She enjoys being a single mother a little two much for me,” the commenter wrote before adding a side eye emoji.

In her response, Walker called out the hater and emphasized how much she loves being a mom.

“Being mad someone happy as hell enjoying being a mom is a different level of miserable. These kids funny as hell, and ima have some mo,” the singer clapped back.

Other Instagram users defended Walker underneath The Jasmine Brand‘s repost of the singer’s online exchange.

“So because she’s a single mother, she’s not supposed to be happy? Society is a WILD PLACE! MAMA IS LIVING FABULOUS! She is living her best single life!!!!” one user wrote.

“Marriage ain’t for everyone, it doesn’t guarantee financial, mental, emotional and spiritual stability… This new age dating ain’t it!! Leave her alone she ain’t asking nobody for help!!” another added.

Others who chimed in said Walker should continue doing whatever makes her the happiest because that positivity will help her be the best mom to her kids. No woman should be shamed for enjoying motherhood, regardless of their romantic status.

Was the commenter wrong to mention Summer’s marital status?

[WATCH] Rapper Billy B Says She Saw Lola Brooke Following Lil Kim Performance Snub

[WATCH] Billy B Delivers New Video for "BREAK" | The SOURCE

This week, Rapper Billy B went up to DJ Self’s show on Power105.1 and discussed the recent drama behind the scenes with rapper Lola Brooke. The ‘Don’t Play With It’ feature MC shared that she wasn’t the only one wondering why Lola didn’t invite her to any of her NYC performances. Rightfully, the BKMC says that ‘Don’t Play With It’ is both of the artists biggest records and felt since they come up together on the same song, morally they should do certain things together. This all came after this weekend when Lola appeared at Lil Kim’s Apollo Theater Show in Harlem, NYC. Lola performed her own verse twice to a roaring crowd while many anticipated Billy B entering the stage.

After a back and forth with Lola’s best friend on social media, Billy revealed there was more to the story behind the scenes. Billy accused Lola’s management team of blocking promoters looking to book her as well. Lola’s friend defended her, reminding her it’s Lola’s song.

“ITS LOLA SONG! SHAWTY IS A FEATURE! SHE IS ENTITLED TO HER OPINION HOWEVER IF SHE FELT AWAY SHE COULD Have EASILY CALLED LOLA NOT GO TO THE INTERNET! TOPIC DONE!,” Rodriguez wrote.

Disappointed because Billy thought their relationship was deeper then what it was–it turned out to be strictly business.

Billy revealed that she recently saw Lola Brooke after the back and forth with Lola’s best friend Monàe Rodriguez.

“I seen her today but we didn’t have no conversation.” Billy shared

DJ Self interjected, “Why wouldn’t there be a conversation, that would be the first thing…”

“Listen man I don’t know.”

“Did yall shake hands and hug?” Self asked.

“No.”

[WATCH] Rapper Billy B Accuses Lola Brooke’s Team Of ‘Snubbing Her’

billy

Over the weekend, Brooklyn rapper Billy B posted a TikTok video implying she hasn’t been included in “Don’t Play With It” NYC performances with Lola Brooke. While she was a feature on the now-viral song, hip hop heads agreed Billy B killed her verse. Giving that late 90’s tough femcee feeling we loved, Billy captured everyone’s attention alongside Lola. The BK beauty proved she was a force to be reckoned with.

Billy’s video came after Lil Kim invited Lola to perform at the Harlem Festival of Culture earlier this week. The TikTok video shows Billy lip syncing “Perc & Sex” by YN Jay while the caption of the video said, “POV: You wake up to yet another DWPI performance in  without Billy B.”

On Saturday, Lola’s best friend Monàe Rodriguez, addressed the situation on Facebook.

“ITS LOLA SONG! SHAWTY IS A FEATURE! SHE IS ENTITLED TO HER OPINION HOWEVER IF SHE FELT AWAY SHE COULD Have EASILY CALLED LOLA NOT GO TO THE INTERNET! TOPIC DONE!,” Rodriguez wrote.

Billy quickly commented on Rodriguez’s post and blamed Lola’s team for the recent mishap.

“Called Lola and say what,” Billy said. “Last time we spoke she told me “I could perform the song by myself and to smut it out.” How tf ima smut it out ? Go ask ppl to perform it? Get outta here more then 3 promoters came and told us when booking her they asked for contact to book me also and her team snubbed it.”

She continued, “Didn’t negotiate no numbers or take it to my lawyers or nothing! JUST FOR THEM TO NOT REGISTER ME ON THE SONG. ADD ME AS A MAIN ARTIST! SO I CAN COLLECT MY PUBLISHING WHEN I DID THAT VERSE ON THE ARMS FOR THE TOWNS!”

Following the back and forth, Billy posted one last message on her facebook. She wrote:
Starting with the tik tok …
Apollo isn’t the 1st or 2nd or 3rd performance that’s went on in NYC that I wasn’t invited to or even told about prior to. I never once felt away about any performances in town or outta town because as I’ve said in MANY interviews DPWI is technically Lola’s record even tho the ORIGINAL song is featuring me. So if she is booked for ANYTHING I have nothing to do with that because we are 2 individual artist. Now morally if she performs in NYC ppl will expect to see me being that we’re both from here and we’ve performed it together plenty of times before the big success of the record. The tik tok was a POV POINT OF VIEW.
Now on the back story that y’all know nothing about.
– Promoters have reached out to my team saying that in the process of booking her they asked for my contact to book me also and would get snubbed. I know for a fact that’s not Lola’s personal doing because she doesn’t talk to promoters or handle the bookings but niggas was curving it.
– When Lola hit me to collab I did everything on the arm with no hassle or hesitation BECAUSE THIS WAS GONNA BE A GREAT LOOK FOR THE TOWNS ! So for paperwork to not have been done correctly and for me to be left in the dark about a lot of situations and etc THAT SHÌT IS JUST WEIRD.
– Ppl keep saying “why didn’t I just call her” but not understanding IM NOT THE ONE IN THE WRONG . Y’all only seeing the tik tok so i understand the confusion but it’s a lot going on behind the scenes. I’ve been a stand up bitch throughout this whole situation. There’s absolutely NO BEEF . I wish her continued success like I’ve always have BUT IM VERY DISAPPOINTED in how niggas handled me.
Won’t be speaking on this situation anymore.
What do you think should Billy B have been invited on stage in her hometown?

Black Female Producer Expose HBO Max Over Stolen Show

shay

A Black female writer claims her pitch for a new show was stolen from her by HBOMax and she’s posting the receipts to prove it.

Shay Caldwell wrote:

Unfortunately, today, I feel defeated hearing the news that a project my writing partner @heycassady and I have shopped around Hollywood for the last 2 years has been picked up by HBO Max with a crew comprised of people from my personal pitch deck.

It strikes me as odd that the very project execs believed stood no chance with its title in the climate we live in would go on to find a life with the exact title and very similar content matter. In the thread posted you are seeing the sizzle of the show idea that we paid for out of our own pockets and registration spanning the past few years. To know this work has been taken with no acknowledgment of the people who formulated the Unfriendly Black Hotties story of 4 black female leads dealing with political correctness in a non-monolithic representation of black characters is devastating. I highly respect the players listed in the trades, but it’s peculiar that a story I’ve pitched to people with connections to the parties involved is now coming to light.

It was surreal to see my phone light up with congratulations from my peers and execs who know about my pitch about my project I did not indeed sell. I thought long and hard about making this post, but I derived that we need to share our experiences about the let downs of this industry as up and coming black narrators. We talk so much about spearheading change, but the first step is speaking out when injustice is happening.

I’m trusting that some resolve can be made to rectify this situation. Understanding thoroughly how many hands pitch and script materials can go through from assistants doing coverage, to various production staff, and execs who hold the green light, things can happen. I’m in hopes an amicable reprieve is possible because it’s disheartening to see people you admire become a part of your feeling of defeat. I truly feel for everyone who has dealt with this historically in Hollywood.

At the end of day I’m still a girl from
the southside of Chicago .. what’s t ? 💅🏽☕

T.I. and Tiny L.O.L Surprise! Lawsuit Ends in Mistrial

Screen Shot 2023 01 28 at 3.49.37 PM

Last year Tiny Harris filed a lawsuit against the makers of the L.O.L Surprise! dolls after accusing them of copying their look from her defunct all-girl singing group the OMG Girlz. The judge has just declared a mistrial.

Bloomberg Law reports:

The maker of the popular L.O.L. Surprise! OMG Dolls was granted a mistrial in an intellectual property dispute with rapper T.I. and former teen pop group OMG Girlz, after a California federal judge determined that prohibited testimony on cultural appropriation was introduced.

Prior to trial, which began Jan. 17, Judge James V. Selna of the Central District of California barred testimony about the dolls’ alleged racist cultural appropriation.

MGA Entertainment originally sued OMG Girlz, Clifford T.I. Harris, and Xscape singer Tameka “Tiny” Harris—whose daughter, Zonnique Pullins, was a part of the music group—in December 2020. It sought a declaratory judgment that its OMG Dolls didn’t infringe on the intellectual property rights of the former band after receiving a cease and desist letter.

The OMG Girlz—who performed from 2009 to 2015—responded with counterclaims alleging misappropriation of their name and likenesses, trade dress infringement, and unfair competition. They also sought damages and an order blocking further sale of the infringing dolls. They claimed that the dolls’ names and appearances are similar

to the members of OMG Girlz, and a comparison “makes it clear that the OMG Dolls were intentionally designed to trade on the OMG Girlz’ likeness and brand.”

The OMG Girlz’ original counterclaims also alleged cultural appropriation, accusing MGA Entertainment and its CEO Isaac Larian of using his “doll business to misappropriate the likeness of Black female artists.” Those claims were removed in subsequent filings, and Selna granted MGA’s motion to exclude mention of that claim at trial.
