Family Matters star Darius McCrary recently filed for a restraining order against an ex-girlfriend that he alleges might kill him.The actors claims his ex physically attacked him with a lead pipe and damaged his car’s glass. He claims she continues to call him a punk and he’s fearful that he may “end up like Phil Hartman” who was murdered by his wife Brynn Omdahl in May 1998. McCrary initially filed an order of protection back in August 2022 though it was not approved since the actor didn’t show up at the hearing, claiming he was, ‘displaced at the time, and had to flee from my ex’.

Radar Online reports;

Actor Darius McCrary has filed for a restraining order against his ex-girlfriend who allegedly threatened to steal his dog, RadarOnline.com has learned.

The Family Matters star first asked the court for a protective order against his ex in August 2022, after she allegedly broke his car window and attempted to attack him with a lead pipe.

McCrary, 46, was denied that protection after he was listed as a no-show on court records. However, McCrary alleged he missed the court date because he was “displaced” at the time due to having to “flee” his ex.

More than a year and a half later, McCrary is now back in court once again.

McCrary claimed his ex was in possession of valuable items that the actor owns.

“She will not return my personal items and is attempting to extort me,” McCrary said.

“I am afraid she will cause further damage. She continues to call me a punk (and other names we are choosing not to list) and is slandering my name in several professional circles of the entertainment industry,” McCrary’s added.

McCrary added that the severity of the situation had him fearful that he would “end up like Phil Hartman,” who was a famous comedian and SNL star who was fatally shot by his wife, Brynn Omdahl, in a murder-suicide in 1998 while their marriage was on the rocks.

John Legend Set to Launch New ‘Loved01’ Skincare Line

John Legend Teams with Saweetie for New Video 'All She Wanna Do'

Words by: Brandon Simmons

First, John Legend welcomes a new baby, and now he has launched a skincare line.  The R&B crooner has introduced his new line, Loved01.  The line is meant to treat “melanin-rich skin,” according to their website

The EGOT winner collaborated with Dr. Naana Boakye, a well-known dermatologist, on the products.  He leaned on Dr. Boakye’s experience with melanated skin.

Loved01 consists of products for both the face and body.  As the line kicks off, consumers can purchase face and body wash, shave cream, exfoliating cleanser, face, and body moisturizer, and toning mist.  The new beauty line utilizes natural ingredients often a staple within the community.  Coconut oil, Shea butter, and Jojoba oil are some of the used elements.

One of the best things about the line is its pricing, as the “Ordinary People” singer wanted to deliver a high-quality product at a reasonable price.

“We hope to help democratize the beauty space by offering high-quality products at an accessible price point.  Everyone deserves to be seen, represented, and provided with the tools to love themselves, starting with healthy skin”, Legend said in a statement.

The line will be available on its website, in Walmart, and in CVS at the start of February, with prices ranging from $10 to $15.  The father of three further discussed the pricing of his line with Cosmopolitan.

“There’s a wealth gap.  We couldn’t price the products in a way that a lot of Black and Brown people couldn’t’ afford knowing that there’s an income gap-we didn’t want to do that.”

[WATCH] TikTok Chef And Prosecutor Loses Brand Deals Following Resurfaced Tweets About Black Women

Screen Shot 2023 01 15 at 2.50.05 PM

Chef Way, a popular chef on TikTok and Prosecutor, has been getting dragged for resurfaced tweets trashing black and dark-skinned women. He issued an apology, but that wasn’t enough to save his endorsement deal. A number of tweets have resulted in the chef issuing apologies to save his coins from disappearing.

Chef Way (real name Waymond Wesley) came under fire online from a number of women who proved he harassed them on social media with receipts.

It started when one of the chef’s TikTok videos cooking oxtail pasta went viral. A Twitter user pointed out to Chef Way how he was getting dragged for years-old tweets and comments, many of which included insults against Black women.

His resurfaced tweets contained remarks about Sandra Bland, a victim of police brutality, dark-skinned women, and women’s body types.

In one tweet, which was manually retweeted in July 2015, Wesley (tweeting under the handle @WaymoTheGod) suggested that “if black lives mattered to sandra bland she wouldn’t have taken her own life.”

In another, Chef Way commented on one photo that “smh the dark one messed up the pic” in response to a dark-skinned Black woman posing in a photo with another woman, and then one of his followers replied by cropping her out of the photo. In another old tweet, Wesley posted a photo of a light-skinned woman, using it to fat shame and insult anyone with a darker skin tone.

“This is the perfect size woman and skin tone,” he wrote. “She’s healthy. Anything bigger/darker than this is garbage.”

After the initial criticism, the chef issued an apology on Twitter and Instagram, saying he had been “sick in more ways than one” during that time and that since then, “cooking” had saved him.

Chef Way’s apology fell on deaf ears, which resulted in him losing his partnership with Anova Culinary, a San Francisco-based smart kitchen company.

“We’re ending our affiliation with chef way, asap,” wrote CEO Stephen Svajian via Twitter. “Formal statement coming soon. Thanks for bringing the issue to my attention.”

He continued, “I believe that brands are about values. We want to partner with individuals that reflect our own values. Chef way clearly does not represent the values that we hold dear. Thanks to those that called this out. We need to do a better job vetting people that represent our brand.”

Look at the tweets below…

Should we believe cooking has changed the chef’s insensitive views?

Screen Shot 2023 01 07 at 10.28.55 AM

Last week, R. Kelly gave an interview to vlogger Storm Monroe from prison accusing gossip vlogger Tasha K of witness tampering. Kelly accused her of leaking his emails and phone calls ahead of his trial and aggravating his girlfriends by showing them private messages.

In a new phone interview, R. Kelly demands to know why Tasha K and the prison guard who had access to his information have not been punished or convicted of a crime. The prison guard has since retired and no charges have been filed.

In a call to vlogger Storm Monroe from the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago R. Kelly questions why a Bureau of Prisons official was allowed to get away with leaking his emails and phone calls leading to scorned witnesses that lied on him on the witness stand. Kelly adds that there are search warrants from his case against Tasha that went nowhere and he demands to know why.

Kelly also claims Tasha K has links to some of the parents of his former girlfriends and they worked together to bring him down.

Health Officials Dismiss Vaccine Injury In Recent Sports Related Death

Screen Shot 2023 01 11 at 10.16.07 AM

16-year-old Ashari Hughes collapsed and died of a heart attack while playing flag football for Desert Oasis High School in Las Vegas last week. Health officials are dismissing claims vaccine injury is the cause of death.

Hughes collapsed after suffering a cardiac arrest during a home game against Valley High School. Staff performed CPR until paramedics arrived, but they were unable to save her.

“Staff immediately began providing medical aid and continued until paramedics arrived,” Principal Ian Salzman said in an email sent to students’ families. “It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that the student passed away.”

Ashari was a sophomore at Desert Oasis High School. Her parents, Enttroda and Twayne Hughes, were in the stands when she collapsed.

They told FOX5 that Ashari had been experiencing ongoing heart problems and they were consulting with a cardiologist. A doctor cleared Ashari to play in the game. The family said she began experiencing chest pain during the game and she went to the sideline to take a break when she collapsed.

Registered nurse Aphelia Phifer-Hill rushed onto the field to perform CPR on Ashari, who was her daughter’s teammate.

“Today was the first time ever, in my 26 years of nursing that I had to do CPR on a kid,” she posted on Facebook.

Ashari’s parents described her as “passionate” and “fun loving”. “She loved music, dancing, and being around all the people she loved,” they wrote in a statement. “She called football the real love of her life!”

The family created a GoFundMe page to pay for her funeral expenses.

Ashari wasn’t an NFL player, but her death touched the hearts of many
Her death was compared to Buffalo Bills’ safety Damar Hamlin, who suffered a cardiac arrest during a Monday night football game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Both Ashari and Damar were vaccinated against Covid-19. However, health experts dismissed speculation that Damar’s cardiac arrest was caused by a vaccine injury. According to the office, Hughes died from anomalous origin of the right coronary artery from left coronary sinus of Valsalva.  “The National Library of Medicine describes Hughes’ cause of death as a ‘rare congenital abnormality’ that represents less than 3% of coronary anomalies.” Fox 5 News said the journal says the condition can cause such things as “myocardial ischemia, also known as reduced blood flow, arrhythmias, or sudden cardiac death.”

FDA Approves New Alzheimer’s Drug Designed to Slow Cognitive Decline

SynapseAnd NeuronCellsSendingElectricalChemicalSignals3DIllustration

On Friday, the Food and Drug Administration approved an Alzheimer’s drug shown in clinical trials to slow cognitive decline in patients in the early stages of the illness. The drug, Lecanemab, will be sold under the name Leqembi and is a monoclonal antibody infusion administered every two weeks for patients with mild cognitive impairment.

Alzheimer’s is the seventh-leading cause of death in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Most drugs approved by the FDA for Alzheimer’s target helping symptoms, not actually slowing the progression of the disease.

In late September the companies that developed the drug, Eisai and Biogen, reported a phase 3 clinical trial of 1,795 patients. Results found that Leqembi slowed the cognitive decline of those who received by 27% after 18 months. The FDA expects to review the phase 3 data “soon.”

8

In 2021, the FDA approved another Alzheimer’s drug developed by Biogen, called Aduhelm. For a second time, the administration did not seek the advice of its advisory committee. The approval of Leqembi offers hope to patients after continuous failures to find effective treatments. A mid-stage trial was conducted including 856 patients with Alzheimer’s disease.

Side effects of the newly approved drug have been reported according to experts. Due to approval by an accelerated pathway, the early adoption offers a new medication that “fills an unmet medical need.” However, companies are still required to conduct additional clinical trials to confirm the benefits of their drugs and mitigate risk factors that would require removal from the market.

Safety concerns have been raised regarding use of the drug. Data shows a minimum of three deaths can be linked to the medication after the patients experienced brain swelling or brain bleeding. Phase 3 trial data reflects that nearly 12.6 % of patients who received the medication experienced brain swelling, compared with just 1.7% of those in the placebo group. About 17% of patients who received the drug experienced brain bleeding, compared with 9% in the placebo group. Still, the company is confident the benefits offered by the drug are worth facing possible risks.

In a scathing congressional report, detailing the approval of Aduhelm, investigators express that the agency failed to adhere to its own standards and that its approval of Aduhelm was “rife with irregularities.” Public Citizen, an advocacy group, has urged the FDA to postpone its decision on whether to approve Leqembi while the companies finish the additional clinical trials needed for full approval.

The emotional toll placed on patients and family members of those with Alzheimer’s disease is nothing short of heartbreaking. Though Leqembi is not a cure; it aims to slow the progression of the disease by removing clumps of beta-amyloid — long believed by scientists to be one of the main causes of the disease — from the brain.

The biweekly medication is expected to cost around $25,000 annually for a single patient, Ivan Cheung, the U.S. chairman and CEO of Eisai, reported. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services currently limits coverage of drugs that target amyloid in the brain, so uptake of the new medication is likely to be limited at first, Cheung added.

Screen Shot 2023 01 07 at 10.28.55 AM

The officer, named in the warrant as Officer A, is accused of illegally accessing Kelly’s private information while he was an inmate at Chicago’s Metropolitan Correctional Center and leaking it to 39 year-old Tasha K, whose real name is Latasha Kebe. She has not yet been charged with any crime.

Now R. Kelly is blaming Tasha for ruining his case by sharing private information to each of his women.
