The girls are winning Halloween and doing it by channeling one queen in particular: Halle Berry.

Hitting Instagram, Tyla, Coi Leray, and Halle Bailey all dressed as Halle Berry from a different film. Leray took on the role of Catwoman, Tyla ventured to Bedrock to become Sharon Stone from the Flintstones movie, and Bailey went to Die Another Day as Berry’s character Giacinta “Jinx” Johnson.

In response, Berry hit X and wrote: “the girls know how to make my day.”

Halle Bailey Dresses Like Halle Berry’s James Bond Character For Halloween

Yes, Halle Bailey’s name was inspired by Halle Berry. The former’s parents considered naming her “Hailey,” but decided to change it to “Halle” as a tribute to the Oscar-winning actress. Bailey has had an impressive career over her own in the last decade, as evidenced by her leading role in the Little Mermaid remake. Halle Bailey decided to pay tribute to her near-namesake, however, this Halloween. She dressed like Berry’s character from the James Bond film Die Another Day, and the internet was impressed.

Die Another Day may not be one of the most acclaimed 007 films. In fact, the tepid critical response to the film led producers to give the MI6 agent a gritty reboot with Daniel Craig a few years later. That said, Halle Berry’s presence, and her orange swim suit, remains one of the film’s best known images. Halle Bailey went all out with the recreation. She donned Berry’s short hair, orange bikini, and even the knife and holster that the character wears in the film. Bailey has a knack for recreating iconic film characters, as evidenced by her decision to dress like Janet Jackson from Poetic Justice in 2023.

Halle Bailey Referred To Halle Berry As Her ‘Queen’

Interestingly enough, Halle Bailey wasn’t the only musician who decided to cosplay as Berry. Coi Leray and Tyla decided to pay tribute to the iconic actress by dressing up as characters from different films. Leray dressed up like Berry’s Catwoman, and Tyla decided to take a left turn by dressing up like Berry’s character from The Flintstones Movie. All three celebs earned praise from their fans, but it was the Halle Berry co-sign that made the biggest impact. She wrote that Bailey, Leray and Tyla “crushed it” above a Pop Crave tweet rounding up the different costumes.

It was Halle Bailey, however, who received individualized praise for her costume. The singer posted pics of her in character, and Halle Berry was effusive in her praise. “Awe …my girl did that,” Berry wrote in the comment section. “What a huge compliment! Love you angel.” Halle Bailey was awe struck by the praise, and returned the love. “My queen approves,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “My life is made.”

Halle Bailey’s 007-Inspired Halloween Costume Channeled Her Inner Super Spy — And Her Namesake

The Halloween costumes have been pretty good so far this year. The stars are reaching into their genre bag, with Megan Thee Stallion’s Teen Titans costume earning the approval of DC Studios CEO James Gunn, and Halle Bailey channeling her namesake in her 007-inspired costume.

Halle posted photos of her simple but inspired costume on Twitter, showing off the iconic orange bikini and white knife belt of infamous Bond girl Jinx, from Die Another Die, as portrayed by Halle Berry (who Bailey sometimes gets mistaken for). The costume hails from Jinx’s second appearance in the film and one of its most recognizable scenes, when the NSA agent emerges from the ocean in the striking swimsuit — an homage to a prior Bond girl, Honey Ryder (portrayed by Ursula Andress) from the first 007 film, Dr. No.

Halle Berry is turning out to be a favorite of Gen Z stars’ 2024 Halloween costumes, as South African singer Tyla and rapper Coi Leray also donned costume sfrom the actress’ oeuvre, albeit much earlier in her filmography. Tyla went with an homage to Berry’s Flintstones character, Sharon Stone (ha), while Coi opted for Berry’s take on Catwoman from the oft-maligned (yet, somehow, much beloved) camp classic and favorite celebrity Halloween costume.

Halle Berry Refuses to Turn Over Financial Records in Heated Child Custody Case

Halle Berry Thinks Her Monthly $16K Child Support Payments is 'Extortion'

Halle Berry Thinks Her Monthly $16K Child Support Payments is 'Extortion'

Actress Halle Berry is pushing back against her ex-husband Olivier Martinez’s demands to produce financial records in their ongoing child custody dispute, according to In Touch. The actress is objecting to appearing in court later this month and providing extensive financial documents, escalating tensions in what has become a contentious legal battle.

Court documents obtained by In Touch reveal that Berry, 58, is contesting Martinez’s request for her to attend a hearing on October 22, arguing there is no legitimate reason to compel her presence. Berry’s lawyer filed objections, pointing out that Martinez, also 58, has sought to delay hearings multiple times, claiming he lacked the resources to pursue discovery until a court issued a fee order. Despite these claims, Berry’s legal team accuses Martinez of launching an “aggressive and extensive” financial discovery process that they argue goes beyond what’s necessary for post-divorce proceedings.

According to Berry’s recent filing, Martinez demanded documents covering 70 categories spanning multiple years, requests that her legal team calls “overly broad in time and scope.” Berry’s lawyer stressed that her historical financial information has no relevance to the current issues being contested in court, particularly regarding needs-based legal fees.

The filing further alleges that Martinez’s demands are “unduly burdensome, harassing, and a waste of time and resources,” with Berry’s attorney emphasizing that the scope of the requests exceeds the matters at hand. The actress believes she shouldn’t be forced to incur additional legal fees to produce what she deems irrelevant documentation.

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez, who finalized their divorce in late 2023, have been locked in a complicated legal battle since then. Their ongoing custody issues, which include financial disagreements, have drawn considerable attention, with Berry fighting to protect her privacy and limit the extent of financial discovery.

As the October 22 hearing approaches, the courtroom drama between the former couple appears far from over, leaving the resolution of their legal battle still uncertain.

Halle Berry Seeks Sole Custody of Son Amid Co-Parenting Struggles with Ex-Husband

Screen Shot 2024 08 20 at 3.18.53 AM

Halle Berry has taken legal action to secure sole custody of her 10-year-old son, Maceo, as tensions between the Oscar-winning actress and her ex-husband, actor Olivier Martinez, continue to escalate. According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Berry, 57, returned to court earlier this month after a judge denied her emergency motion for a court order that would have required Martinez to resume co-parenting therapy sessions.

In her new filing, Berry is seeking full authority to make decisions regarding Maceo’s medical care and education, citing concerns about Martinez’s alleged interference in their son’s well-being. Berry claims that Martinez has been uncooperative and has undermined her efforts to provide Maceo with necessary educational and psychological support.

Berry acknowledged in her filing that while she is not a perfect parent, she has been exemplary in her efforts to care for Maceo, especially during times of conflict with Martinez. She accused her ex-husband of “ignoring, interfering with, and/or withholding consent for needed steps to obtain educational and psychoeducational services,” and using their son’s soccer activities as leverage in custody disputes.

One of the more troubling accusations made by Berry is that Martinez has involved Maceo in their custody issues, allegedly having the child “parrot” his father’s positions and making Maceo believe that he, along with Martinez, has the authority to make decisions about his upbringing. Berry also claims that Martinez has attempted to sway Maceo’s therapist by spreading false information about her.

In her filing, Berry summarized her concerns by stating that Martinez “refuses to co-parent or communicate in a child-centered way or make child-centered decisions,” effectively taking sole decision-making authority in violation of their custody agreement. As a result, she has asked the court to grant her sole legal custody of Maceo immediately.

This latest development marks a significant escalation in the ongoing custody battle between Berry and Martinez, who divorced in 2016 after three years of marriage. The couple has faced numerous challenges in co-parenting their son, and this legal move suggests that Berry believes the current arrangement is no longer in Maceo’s best interests.
