Lil Zay Osama Faces 20-Year Sentence Following Gun Charges & Indictment

Lil Zay Osama’s recent arrest for gun possession and retail theft is remaining a court battle for the foreseeable future. Moreover, a New York grand jury indicted him on Wednesday (January 24) for possession of a machine gun and unregistered firearm possession, which could result in a 20-year sentence at maximum. The rapper, now in state custody in Illinois on unrelated charges, allegedly left a loaded Glock pistol with a switch in a car riding from Manhattan to Queens, which he used as a ride-share, and was arrested in 2022. He will face arraignment at a later date, and he was arrested in December of 2023 following a police chase.

“As alleged, [Isaiah] Dukes [Lil Zay Osama’s real name] brought a machine gun into our District, and then dangerously left it in the back of a ride-share,” Breon Peace, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, shared. “This Office, together with our law enforcement partners, will continue to work diligently to protect our communities from such dangerous weapons.

“His indictment is a stark reminder that loaded, illegal firearms -– sometimes modified to maximize their deadly potential, as alleged in this case -– continue to be brought into and carried throughout New York City,” Edward Caban, New York Police Department Commissioner, also remarked. “Let me be clear. This behavior will not be tolerated here. The NYPD vows to keep our streets safe from guns and anyone who unlawfully possesses them. I commend and thank the ride-share driver who observed this weapon for doing what we always ask of all New Yorkers. He saw something and he said something, and he possibly saved lives in the process.”

Meanwhile, this is what the MC had to say on Instagram in response to all of his legal trouble. “I guarantee n***as gone need me before I need them,” he wrote. “I’ll be home sooner than you think. Blink n***a [purple devil emoji].” For more news and the latest updates on Lil Zay Osama, log back into HNHH.

HoneyKomb Brazy Out On Bond But Facing Federal Gun Charges

Alabama rapper HoneyKomb Brazy has a LONG history with the justice system and that doesn’t seem like it’s going to end any time soon. He was sentenced to 15 years in jail for gun charges back in 2020, though he only ended up serving 18 months of the sentence before he was released. He was returned to prison following a parole violation for drug possession after being released where he spent more than a year.

While Brazy was back in prison his grandparents both died as the result of a house fire. While the news was initially reported as an accident further investigation revealed that it was actually the result of a shooting. Four men were arrested for executing the shooting which police believe caused the fire after striking an oxygen tank. Brazy was finally released from prison last month, but he couldn’t stay out of trouble for very long. Catch up on his most recent legal trouble below.

HoneyKomb Brazy Granted Bond

Earlier this month, HoneyKomb Brazy was arrested once again in his native Alabama. During a traffic stop, he and two men were found in possession of two guns. As a convicted felon, Brazy wasn’t allowed to have the guns and was arrested as a result. He’s been hit with charges for illegal possession of a firearm. That comes in addition to the drug charges he had dished out against him following the arrest.

In the month that he was free leading up to his most recent arrest Brazy was busy. The rapper was able to release some new songs. The biggest of the bunch were “6 O’Clock” and “Letter To God” both of which have racked up tens of thousands of Spotify streams. What do you think of HoneyKomb Brazy finding himself in legal trouble again so quickly after being released from prison? Do you think he will be able to beat his newest gun and drug charges? Let us know in the comment section below.

HoneyKomb Brazy Arrested, Hit With Gun And Drug Charges

HoneyKomb Brazy was arrested in Alabama earlier this week following a traffic stop, and is now facing drug and gun charges. According to jail records obtained by XXL, the rapper was arrested on Monday morning, and charged with possession of a controlled substance and a pistol. Further details about his arrest are not available at the time of writing. It’s clear, however, that the incident will only complicate his ongoing legal battle.

Last month, HoneyKomb Brazy was released from prison after serving 30 months behind bars. Only days later, he returned to turn himself in for allegedly exposing himself to a police officer back in 2021. This only scratches the surface of the Alabama native’s legal trouble, however. In 2020, the artist was sentenced to 15 years for possession of a firearm as a felon. He was later released after serving 18 months. In July of 2021, he was booked once again for violating his probation after authorities spotted him in music videos with guns and drugs.

While he was serving his sentence in 2021, the performer’s grandparents died as the result of a house fire. New details emerged the next year, and investigators alleged that the incident took place due to a Facebook post from OMB Peezy. Terrance Watkins, Jamarcus Chambers, and Patrick Lewis were charged with their murder. They’re accused of firing multiple shots into the home under drug kingpin Darrin Southall’s orders. Prosecutors believe that Watkins was upset by Peezy’s Facebook post, and later came up with a plan to “hurt Jones.”

“A likely scenario is that the gunfire resulted in the explosion of an oxygen tank, which in turn would have caused the explosion of other oxygen tanks in the house, which would lead to the fire,” attorney Louis Walker said of the alleged attack. What do you think of HoneyKomb Brazy getting arrested in Alabama? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

NBA YoungBoy Finally Lands Trial Date In Gun Case

NBA YoungBoy will officially be standing trial in his long-standing gun case in July 2024, according to court documents obtained by AllHipHop. The notice went out on December 13. YoungBoy has been on house arrest in Utah while awaiting trial since his 2020 arrest for federal firearms charges.

“Trial (jury) in this matter is hereby assigned for Monday, July 15, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. through Friday, July 25, 2024, in Courtroom 3 before Chief District Judge Shelly D. Dick,” the notice read. “Pretrial Conference is set for Tuesday, June 26, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in chambers before Chief District Judge Shelly D. Dick.”

The arrival of a trial date comes following YoungBoy and his team’s request that the terms of his house arrest be relaxed. They cited his worsening mental health as well as difficulty producing music. “Being confined to his home and unable to complete his employment obligations has led to great anxiety, depression, loss of weight, and sleep. Mr. Gaulden [NBA YoungBoy] has been visibly stressed and has expressed concern and loss of hope that he will be able to return to his contracted employment obligation,” his lawyers said. They added that his sales have “suffered” due to his “limited ability to produce quality recordings.” They also added that he’s already “exhausted all his options for recording in his home with a very limited production crew.”

In response, prosecutors argued that the request was not specific enough about the details of working in outside studios. “Where are the studios? Who is allowed there? Will individuals that are not allowed at his home be present at the studios? How many people will be at the studios?” were among the questions they raised. The judge has not ruled on that request yet. Be on the lookout for further updates on NBA YoungBoy’s case on HotNewHipHop.

Crip Mac Arrested, Faces Federal Gun Charges

When Crip Mac went to Los Angeles County court on Tuesday (December 5), he ran into an unexpected problem. A judge agreed to drop gun charges against him stemming from a September 3 arrest for being a person with felony convictions in possession of a firearm. However, according to Billboard and an alleged indictment and court records, U.S. Marshals arrested N3on’s rival seconds after the judge ruled this. While the state charges were no more, they moved his case up to federal court and the U.S. Attorney’s office. Currently, the South Los Angeles resident and expectant father is reportedly held in pretrial detention, and his next scheduled hearing is set to take place on Monday (December 11).

Furthermore, shortly before the Marshals took Crip Mac in, the court looked at a two-month-old indictment against him. The For The Love Of Lena contestant faced charges of possession of an unregistered weapon and ten rounds of ammunition, which is especially illegal with his history of felony convictions. “Defendant possessed such ammunition knowing that he had previously been convicted of at least one of the following felony crimes,” the indictment read.

Crip Mac’s Gun Charges Move Up To Federal Level

What’s more is that he was also arrested on similar charges in July of 2022 and October of 2021. Crip Mac’s other arrests include for attempted second-degree armed robbery in November of 2017, grand theft in August of 2015, and transportation of a controlled substance in October of 2014. A California attorney unrelated to the No Jumper guest‘s case, spoke to Billboard about how this arrest, moving from state to federal jurisdiction, is common. “Sometimes, local authorities become frustrated by lenient sentencing for people who are prolific [offenders], so they request the feds review for prosecution,” Briggs explained. “This puts more prison time in the discussion.

“The worst case is he gets folded into a larger gang conspiracy and RICO case involving murders,” he continued. “In that case, it’s likely life in prison. It’s possible, depending on the specific facts of his case, he could do 10 years [for just the gun charges]. It depends on various individual factors.” We’ll see what will happen to the good friend of Adam22 in the coming weeks. For more news and the latest updates on Crip Mac, stay up to date on HNHH.

Mikey Williams Not Practicing With Team Amid Gun Charges

Memphis freshman Mikey Williams remains away from team practices as he awaits a court hearing on gun charges leveled at him earlier this year. While Williams is enrolled in online classes at the university, he does not have team facilities or is participating in team activities. The university has stated that this will remain the case “until his pending legal process is complete. The process to assess and determine his status with the team will be initiated at that time.”

Williams is the #49-ranked recruit in ESPN‘s Class of 2023 and had millions of followers on social media. However, the 6″2 shooting guard out of San Ysidro, California made headlines earlier this year when he reportedly shot at a vehicle leaving his residence. He now faces five charges of assault with a weapon and one charge of firing into an occupied vehicle. After pleading not guilty in April, his preliminary hearing was postponed three times and is currently scheduled for October 10.

Williams did not join the team for their summer trip to the Dominican Republic and missed the first week of official practices. Memphis open their season against Jackson State on November 6 and have two exhibition games in late October. The future for Williams remains unclear at this time. Penny Hardaway and other team officials have declined to comment about the matter at this time. However, while he is their best recruit, he is not Memphis’ only recruit. Furthermore, the Tigers have a bevy of transfers also joining the program.

Also joining the Tigers this season are several other top-tier recruits. There is Williams’ high-school teammate Javonte Taylor, who is ranked #67 by ESPN. Furthermore, there is Ashton Hardaway, son of Tigers’ coach Penny and ESPN‘s #92 recruit. Last season, Memphis won the AAC tournament but crashed out in the first round of the NCAA tournament against #25 Florida Atlantic. Williams’ case remains a developing story and we’ll have any updates as and when they emerge.

“I been signed to Machine since I was 16 years old,” Herbo said. “I was a minor my parents had to sign me up. I signed my publishing away perpetually for 15 grand. I got to the bottom of it, we got that back. We amended that contract so many times.”

Judge Refuses To Dismiss Boosie Badazz Gun Charges

A judge in San Diego has denied a motion to dismiss gun charges against Boosie Badazz. Boosie was arrested on felony gun possession in June, spending a few days in jail before being granted bond. Per the San Diego Union-Tribune, Boosie was back in court this week to seek a dismissal of the charges. The dismissal, filed last month, argued that the charges were a violation of Boosie’s 2nd Amendment rights as well as the precedent established by New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen (2022). The Supreme Court ruled has set a percent that modern gun laws must have a historical analog. This has led to judges siding with individuals convicted of felonies who argue that it is unconstitutional for their felony conviction to bar them from gun ownership.

The ruling was one of the biggest changes to firearm law in several years and a massive blow against gun control advocates. However, it does of course come with checks and balances. The ruling is not universally applied, meaning that a defendant cannot pull a precedent wherever it may exist. Instead, defendants must be able to show percent and analogs from the circuit in which they are being tried. That is exactly the reason why Boosie has seen his motion denied.

Boosie To Face Trial For Gun Charges

“Nothing in Mr. Hatch’s motion persuades this Court that these holdings are incorrect or that the Court otherwise has the right to disregard binding Ninth Circuit precedent here,” District Judge Cathy Bencivengo wrote in her decision. This is not unusual for the 9th Circuit. Bencivengo denied a similar motion from a defendant last year. District Judge William Hayes also ruled against a dismissal motion for the same reason earlier this year. This means that Boosie will now likely face trial on the charges.

Meanwhile, more shakeups to gun ownership law could be coming in the next few months. The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case pertaining to the legality of gun ownership for those with domestic violence restraining orders. While it is a different case to the precedent Booise is arguing, it could still be pertinent to the overall case of those with felonies seeking the right to bear arms.

Shy Glizzy Will Not Face Charges For Alleged Gun Incident With Ex-Girlfriend

Shy Glizzy found himself in a lot of hot legal water following a May arrest in West Hollywood following a dispute with his ex-girlfriend. Moreover, model Maya Colon pressed charges after he allegedly threatened her with a gun, she claims, and that this followed various threats to her family, career, and subsequent relationships after their April split. What’s more is that she claimed the rapper followed her in his car and, at a red light, brandished a firearm and hit it on her windshield. His arrest resulted in a felony charge of threats following his release on bond for $50,000.

However, now TMZ reports indicate that the court cleared Shy Glizzy of all charges on Friday (July 14). According to the outlet, authorities did not find sufficient evidence to support Colon’s claims, which eventually led to them dropping the case. Not only that, but apparently officials committed an “inadmissible search and seizure” when investigating the case, which can hold very serious consequences. That’s a violation of the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, and it implies a few possible actions. One is a search without a warrant, search with no probable cause, or an unjustified extension of a legal search and seizure.

Regardless, the D.C. MC’s ex-girlfriend still has a temporary restraining order against him. Furthermore, it details that Shy Glizzy must stay at least 100 yards away from her. In addition, he can’t contact her and can’t post any explicit photos or videos of her online (assumedly “explicit” refers to pictures and videos explicitly about her, since not being able to post explicit content sounds like a given). Still, apparently Colon still seeks a permanent restraining order in court, from what reports indicate, despite the dropped charges.

Meanwhile, the 30-year-old denied any and all claims on his Instagram Story back in May when this all blew up. “The accusations made against me are completely false,” he expressed. “I would never in my life pull a weapon or harm a female in any way so stop with the BS allegations! What is wrong with ppl?” For more news and the latest updates on Shy Glizzy, stick around on HNHH.
