Quavo is gearing up to release new music, announcing his single, “Honey Bun,” for this Friday.
Hitting Instagram, Quavo shared a photo, seemingly recording a music video. Dropping off the title in the caption, Quavo revealed the creation is “#ForTake.”
In February, Quavo returned with a new single titled “Greatness.” The horn-heavy single sounds are triumphant as he recalls moments with Takeoff and Migos, diving into the bible for answers and attempting to move forward.
The video brings intimate moments with Quavo, including strolling red carpets, playing basketball, rehearsing for the Grammys, and collecting new plaques.
“I couldn’t do it without the greatest group in the world,” Quavo says in the closing. “I couldn’t do it without the greatest nephew in the world.”
One moment that fans will be heartbroken to hear is a set of bars letting fans know Migos is over.
Came in, swept the game like a storm with the muthafucking flow, n-gga, Take did that So don’t ask about the group, he gone, we gone, young n-gga it can’t come back, damn!

Our final Fire Emoji playlist update of February has landed, and it’s got some seriously hot tracks. It’s a male-dominated list of releases. Some of them are solo efforts and others are collaborations that are sure to heat up your playlist. Landing at the top of this weekend’s list is a posthumous joint from DMX. He connects with Lil Wayne on “Kant Nobody.”
All this time after his tragic death, the New York MCs legacy continues to live on thanks to Weezy’s upcoming album. His Tha Carter VI campaign began with this new single. It’s sure to continue with even more fire over the coming weeks. Swizz Beatz also helped out with “Kant Nobody,” putting his impressive production skills to great use.
Next, we hear from Quavo, who’s slowly returning to the spotlight following the tragic death of his nephew, Takeoff. On “Greatness,” the former Migos member addressed the gossip regarding the future of the rap group. He makes it clear that without his partner in rhyme, he and Offset couldn’t go on. Still, we do hope to see the family members put aside their differences and make music together in the future.
Chicago’s G Herbo shared his latest, “Raining” on Friday. The father of three chiefly worked with Murda Beatz for the single’s fire production. Additionally, he recruited Yung Bleu to put his R&B magic touch on the track as he prepares to drop off his next album in the coming weeks.
Two noteworthy albums we heard this weekend include Don Toliver’s Love Sick and Yeat’s AftërLyfe. From the former, we selected “Private Landing” featuring Justin Bieber and Future as our title to spotlight. Other guest appearances on the ambitious project come from James Blake, Lil Durk, GloRilla, Kali Uchis, and Brent Faiyaz, just to name a few.
As for the latter, the California native has fans buzzing thanks to yet another collaboration with NBA YoungBoy. After connecting on the Louisana native’s Gangsta Grillz tape last October, they came together once again for “Shmunk.” Additionally, from Key Glock’s highly anticipated Glockoma 2 tape, we picked “Dirt” for your streaming pleasure.
Our final two fire picks of the week are EST Gee’s latest, “Undefeated,” as well as a link-up between Conway the Machine, Sauce Walka, and Juicy J. The trio celebrated the NFL Championship earlier this month with “Super Bowl,” a nearly four-minute-long banger that’s sure to satisfy fans.
Stream this weekend’s batch of Fire Emoji-worthy songs exclusively on Spotify below. Afterward, tell us which of the new additions is your favourite in the comments. Make sure to check back on Sunday (February 26) to catch more release recommendations on our R&B Season playlist.
While Migos has seemingly dismantled after the death of Takeoff, Quavo is ready to dive into a new chapter. His latest work “Greatness” dropped today (February 23rd), and he hasn’t forgotten his roots in the trio. “Never forget that the Migos amazin’,” the 31-year-old raps. Despite shouting out his former group, Quavo makes it clear in his new track that his future is looking solo. He explains within his first verse, “so don’t ask about the group, he gone, we gone, young n*gga, it can’t come back (damn).”
Overall, Quavo’s newest release is an upbeat anthem that further establishes him as an ambitious independent artist. The release follows alleged beef between Quavo and Offset, who most recently were reported to get into a physical altercation at the 65th Grammy Awards. Together, the duo was to perform a tribute to Takeoff, the third Migos member who tragically was killed last November. However, Quavo, who is the late-rappers uncle, supposedly instigated the fight over the performance of “Without You.” The song was created as a personal tribute to his nephew and with the ongoing fights between the rappers, it’s likely that Quavo wanted the emotional moment to be his own.
Quavo Raps That Migos “Can’t Come Back”
While fans were disappointed in the death of Migos, “Greatness” has been applauded as a big next step for Quavo. Twitter users took to the platform to commemorate the group’s 14-year run. “Finna hear the best music he ever made after that sacrifice,” one user tweeted.
But, not all fans are happy with how events have unfolded. In fact, many are upset over the “selfish” route Quavo has taken to music. One user wrote, “of course Migos won’t ever be the same but Quavo is dragging it. He is still beefing with offset and it’s other shit to worry about.” Another commented his disappointed, tweeting “if you told me in 2013 that 10 years later takeoff would be dead and quavo and offset would hate each other i prolly woulda tried to beat yo ass.” You can check out more Twitter reactions down below. As always, keep watch on HNHH for the latest news on your favorite hip hop artists.

Offset denied the reports, but if these rumors are true, it doesn’t seem like Quavo and Offset will be making up anytime soon to revive the group. On his latest single, “Greatness,” Quavo offered a hint about the future of the group.
“Came in, swept the game like a storm with the motherf*ckin’ flow, Take’ did that / So don’t ask ’bout the group, he gone, we gone…it can’t come back,” raps Quavo in “Greatness.”
While it seems unlikely that we will get another Migos album, or that Quavo and Offset will continue Migos as a duo, Quavo appears to be proud of the impact the trio made throughout their career.
“This how legends was born, greatness / I couldn’t do it without the greatest group in the world, hmm, greatness,” Quavo raps on the song’s outro.
In the accompanying music video, Quavo is seen looking through photos and videos of the group, and reaping the fruits of their labor by way of driving in luxury vehicles and flashy jewelry.
